5601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla no longer accepts Bitcoin payments on: May 12, 2021, 11:51:04 PM
sometimes i feel Elon Musk can be corrosive with his tweets... , so what's the extent bitcoin mining has contributed to carbon emission's as compared to general electricity generation because for him suspending buying of his cars and citing “rapidly increasing use of fossil fuels for bitcoin mining.” pssh doesn't make sense!!
For the record those electric still contribute to carbon emissions direct  or indirectly, i suppose he should close shop too!

And should countries also using fossil fuels go dark too all in the good spirit of reducing our carbon footprints  Tongue
5602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will Binance be the next Ethereum? on: May 12, 2021, 10:57:25 PM
It's hard to answer this question based on ethereums current high fees which could be a reason for crypto users to find other alternatives like binance with a much lower transaction fees, but if you can look passed the  fees eth is a good coin in terms of fees and am hoping before the year ends we hit 8000 dollars.
5603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin will drop 90% more, better cash out to BTC now on: May 12, 2021, 09:56:08 PM
This is what's happening, New all time high made , you cash out money goes out...price temporary dips. After sometime someone else buys the dip thereby pumping in new money and price pumps up and if more people see this the herd mentality jumps in and everyone starts buying because of FOMO and in the process new ATH recorded....in short ; TL:DF don't be scared to hodl Roll Eyes
5604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: May 12, 2021, 09:50:47 PM
if you gamble for the wrong reasons like getting rich over night you will learn this the hardway!

It's unfortunate that for first timers in gambling they usually win the first few games which clouds their judgement and want to go all in as they build confidence not knowing that's how the gambling addiction starts as you are forced to chase your losses.

Sad news for the lad that took his life, if you suffering from gambling addiction talk to someone,it should never end this way.
5605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 12, 2021, 07:57:56 PM
Arsenal seems woke today but still not convincing enough!

They scored first against Chelsea via a corner kick which is nice to see these guys scoring while on the road but Chelsea will not risk dropping points here knowing the risk losing their fourth spot which is a UEFA golden ticket, missing out means going to win against City who should be wounded after a loss from the blues.

Match possibility: Draw
5606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why the martingale system sucks! (doubling down on losses) on: May 12, 2021, 07:30:29 PM
Sometimes martingale works for odd numbers, having the right bank roll and choosing the right games. Because if we all claimed it was that bad people would have stopped talking about it way back ,but instead everyday we see a new betting strategy, somewhere in there some one will mention martingale, besides there is the right way and wrong way of using this strategy.
5607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 12, 2021, 10:02:11 AM
Congratulations to Man City for being the CHAMPIONS this season after the defeat of ManU 1-2 vs Leicester. I expected them to win and they didn't fail us although the very hard start!

2nd post Cool
Well I don't support any specific team really, I just watch the matches for fun and try to predict the final score and the winner. I tend to like a little Manchester clubs then Liverpool maybe. For the 2020/21 season, I think City will get it  Wink

Congratulations to Manchester City it was well deserved with the amount of work the team puts in, well deserved. Though I Thought Manchester United would delay their celebrations ,this was never going to happen they lost their game to confirm their title.

Hope you don't lose focus next season like Liverpool who at the moment are struggling to get into the top four.

Death is something we all can never run away from, neither can we know when its coming and the sad part is it takes both good and bad people.

Becky666 you have run your race, see you in the next life.

Rest In Peace.
5609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 11, 2021, 06:51:07 PM
The match today between Manchester United and Leicester will be very interesting, Leicester is fighting their way back to the 3rd position, while Manchester United attention is on winning the European League trophy meanwhile they are also keeping 6 points gap from Chelsea. If Leicester lose to Manchester, West Ham will surely get more closer to them. They also need to win in order to restore the 3rd position back from Chelsea.

Leicester couldn't win their last two games and Chelsea have taken the 3rd place. Now the game is going on 1-1. Leicester scored first but Manchester Utd weren't late to answer. It is a competitive game already and I think Manchester Utd won't lose.
I guess this Leicester match is about the fixture and not form of the teams.

If we looked at the form Manchester United would have been the favorite all the way over the visitors but because of this fixture Leicester has won quite a number of games over United which would give these guys the inspiration, congrats to the Foxes.
5610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto currency terms you need to know on: May 11, 2021, 04:23:16 PM
7) GAS: A fee for validating a transaction
Transaction fee has no name called, you are specifically talking about ethereum and ethereum tokens which gas is the fee used to send such tokens.

DeFi, CeFi, Gas and NFTs are all in the altcoins category.
This is what I was thinking too, afaik gas is terminology exclusive to the ethereum blockchain to mean transaction fees, it's not like we can use to me TX fees on any other blockchain.

2) Block chain
Blockchain, not block chain.
-snip-
Actually, satoshi himself used the term "block chain" but later widely used and accepted by users as "blockchain".
He still used the term in last post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3;sa=showPosts

IMO, either is acceptable.
I think both are acceptable depending on how it's used but blockchain sounds more appealing and acceptable!

Btw were does "block-chain" find itself in all this?

5611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm now all in BTC. All eggs in one basket! on: May 11, 2021, 03:32:56 PM
Just for your information, when it comes to crypto investments, you need to know that despite bitcoin being at the top it's not always the best choice to go for. Of late if we pick a few random coins, okay not so random say compare bnb,eth and bitcoin, you will find that bitcoin wasn't the best best among these coins but if you still want bitcoin atleast spread your risk to avoid losing everything at once.
5612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is moonmoon a good coin on: May 11, 2021, 12:00:13 PM

Now i have been forced to look in to it because my feed is filled with it, is moonmoon  coin worth investing in before we miss out on the action?

5613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: May 10, 2021, 09:12:20 PM
I thought the huge supply dogecoin has would take it edges for it to reach its first target of 50 cents but its seems to keep rallying and got there won't any struggle and at the rate it's moving I don't see any reason why it would stop now, of course with a few retracements on its way up.

I suppose it's altseason which is a something similar I have seen ethereum do and the pump is aggressive.

United did a fine clean job by beating Villa with ease.

You make it sounds really easy but its not though. Villa is a great team but United was better tonight.
Is there captain(Grelish) back yet, I think Villa at this point are missing his leadership and inspiration to help the team win games which he has single handedly done before, but obviously am not saying they would have beaten Manchester United in the the form they are in atm.

Fulham relegation is confirmed regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's game. Fulham doesn't stand a chance even though they manage to coin out a draw from Burnley tomorrow.

Fulham still has a chance though. There are still 4 more matches and if Fulham win the next match against Burnley, the gap would be 6 points and 3 matches left. Burnley needs to secure atleast 4 points from the last 4 matches to ensure their spot for next season otherwise Fulham might have the chance. Its slim but it could happen though
Fulham are quite explosive when they want and that kind of quality they have can win games and I see them throwing all they have to stay in the competition. You what they say a desperate man(team) can do anything to survive.
5617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: May 09, 2021, 05:47:01 PM
What happen with Arteta is this year keep management stay in for this coach or looking for new coach,
Before Arteta starts thinking about his management staff I fear his the next manager to be sacked, not that am wishing the man bad luck but it's in the way his team are delivering results.

Quote
I like Jose Mourinho become Arsenal's coach but AS Roma have sign early.
Had he not got the Roma job I don't think Mourihno would agree to coach this team, imagine all those rivals he had with wenger the memories all that going down the drain, come on guys this was never going to happen!

Aston Villa to me weren't expected to win, Manchester United are in an exciting form of their life's and I have always hailed the attack force of Edison cavani and Greenwood, I think this is another typical comeback to win game by Manchester United.

That early Villa goal gave me a scare thinking these guys would pull t off , but Uniteds form came to the rescue and we're the victors of the day.

And cavani seems to be in good form to,keep it up boys.
5618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mixing your Bitcoin might become illegal in the future on: May 09, 2021, 01:51:20 PM
The recent popularity of Bitcoin has brought the attention of governments and central banks worldwide. We've seen certain opposition from countries like India, China, and Russia against the pioneer cryptocurrency. Countries that are friendly towards Bitcoin (like the US and UK), are constantly surveilling its citizens for any suspicious activity. I've seen that some countries have taken action against Bitcoin mixing services with the excuse that they're used for money laundering and terrorist financing.
Money laundering or terrorist financing wasn't started with crypto nor will it end with fiat. And for the record these illegal activities should involve huge sums of money which means exchanges wouldn't be their preferred choice as these could subject them to KYC and AML and a money trail.

Since most (if not all) of these centralized mixers don't comply with KYC/AML regulations, they're subject to being shut down by the government. Imagine if criminals begin using Bitcoin mixers in mass for money laundering purposes. If the trend continues, mixing Bitcoin may turn out to become illegal.
Are mixers some sort of registered company, I don't think so which is why I do see any line to separate these by legality.

Do you think there's a possibility this will happen in the future? If not, why? What do you think will happen once mixers (both custodial and non-custodial) are banned by the government? Will this force people to use privacy coins more thoroughly? Or will everything remain the same? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Smiley
Anyone that needs privacy at its highest level should consider privacy coins and a combination of mixers and btw these banners of mixers won't happen.

Huge contract for Neymar, people saying it goes as high as 500.000 euros per week. PSG has secured him during the best years of his career
Good move by PSG, not a bad signing just hope the lad grows up without his dramatic antics.

and will not be able to sell him with such high wages if he decides to start partying in Brazil.
For how many years is he going to be playing for PSG according to his contract, and talking of Brazil is that his desired team after PSG thought Brazil can't be his end game...it would be nice to see him play in England.

I wonder if it means that Mbappe is leaving, if he stays he'll want the same wages and it's simply impossible PSG can afford both of them.
Mbappe has nothing to do with Neymar extending his contract, thought they make a great pair upfront.
5620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do I need to pay Tax on my Crypto Gambling Winnings? A guide on: May 09, 2021, 07:01:23 AM
So the tax man wants to sow from my emotional and long losing streak and I make a comeback and in the end want me to make tax returns to them....I will take my chances.

Btw In the event you pay tax on your initial tax and you choose to hodl your coins for several years and your holding goes up 10000X will this be subject to another tax in form of capital gains tax??
