5641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY DOES BOUNTY PROJECTS TAKE TIME TO ENTER A MARKET on: October 30, 2019, 08:56:16 AM
Possible reasons that I can think of:

  • Perhaps the project hasn't raised the needed money to get listed on an exchange.
  • The project is not fully completed and still on the development phase.
  • Teams are afraid that when they released it, dumps will follow, they learned their lessons early in 2018.
  • They know that we are still in the bearish trend, so timing is very bad.
  • Partners leaving the project itself, as a result project is put into limbo.
5642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Did Zuckerberg deserve this from Lawmakers and Financial Services Committee ? on: October 30, 2019, 07:51:40 AM
Well we can agree to disagree at certain point here. Zuckerberg is a business man, so they can look at it as trying to make his company/shareholders richer with Libra and change the landscape of the financial industries.

On the other hand, Mark could be very well wanted to help everyone specially crypto enthusiast, building Libra as a gateway, to be able to used them in online transactions. But it's that the approach is very negative to US and the rest of the world.

5643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Errol Spence Jr. Vs Manny Pacquiao on: October 30, 2019, 07:31:49 AM
What's funny is, even if these two ever manage to secure a fight, who would seriously think it's going to be as competitive as their previous fights? They get huge money even if they just dance around the ring for 12 rounds. Mayweather's not going to risk getting hurt so his game plan would simply be the same. Pacquiao, even if he won't admit it, won't catch up to mayweather's style. So yeah, with Jack Ma in the picture, it can happen. But don't bet on an exciting, competitive fight between two determined fighters.
We haven't seen Mayweather change his style in boxing because that's what makes him so successful. The fact that people are pushing for a rematch, they accepted already the style of mayweather while hoping this part 2 will be an entertaining fight compared to fight no. 1.  I was one of the fans that were disappointed in fight no. 1 but I forget that disappointment and now I like to see this rematch before Manny will finally retire from boxing.
Agree to this point where Mayweather wont really change up his boxing style because on that way he able to reach out this kind of success on boxing career.
I dont know why people cant still move on to this rematch thing and i have seen that recent Pacquiao video above. No matter how he would interested on having a rematch
if the other side doesnt have interest on responding or taking it seriously then this match would be still questionable.People are way too hoping.
Well it's because of their superstar and their charisma to the boxing world. Many still thinks that Pacquaio has a chance against Floyd in a rematch. And boxing promoters are drooling over the amount of money in can generate and probably break their previous records.

Many said that Floyd won't cross-over to UFC and fight Conor. But look what happened, because of the money involved, the fight push through, so there's still hope that this fight can happen in the money is right.
5644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 30, 2019, 06:59:48 AM
Rolex Paris Masters results:

Big upset in this tournament, the hot streaking D. Medvedev lost to big hitting Chardy, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 . I haven't seen any clips of the match yet, but based on reports, Chardy didn't melt down and give Medvedev all he can handle. It also stopped Medvedev on it's track after winning back to back tournaments to put himself in the fourth spot of the rankings.

Yeah that is a big upset with the form that Medvedev has been in lately and now that will see him finish ranked 4th this year which is still a big achievement for an up and coming player. Next year is the year I think we'll see the top 3 ranks change and see a young talent up there.
Definitely this is a big upset because Medvedev has one of the best break out year we have seen so far. However, Chardy has other plans and with his experience, he was able to overcome Medvedev, although Medvedev really play very well.

Well, it could be, Medvedev is touted be the next super star of tennis so let's wait for him to mature next year and see how it is going to be.

5646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Phishing attempt Ledger Nano S/X on: October 27, 2019, 11:03:48 AM
Please do not download that executable. It contains malicious code, so please be very very careful
In short, be careful before you download any program or give permission to any program. some programs, although reliable, but weak protection, allowing scammers to exploit the vulnerabilities in some versions to attack them your legal wallet.
If there are any problems related to the wallet, check the authenticity of the news from the official website and then search or ask here before downloading any application.

It seems that the scammers have switched from attacking desktop wallets (electrum) to hardware wallets.
Or scammers simply looking for every chance they got in this crypto sphere.

Trezor has been attacked too, so it's just a matter of time because scammers will go for another exploit here, (whether Electrum or desktop or hardware wallets) as long as they know that people are going to easily fall for it, those bad actors are going to exploit it.

@GSpgh - the danger is downloading the said apps and believing that the email come from Ledger themselves.
5647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MDAB did over 12,000% Even with seemingly inactive Team. on: October 27, 2019, 10:31:03 AM
welcome to the wonderful and painful world of altcoin pump and dumps Cheesy

this is a very common thing that happens in the altcoin world. every day there are altcoins that are being selected by the pumpers to be pumped hard. usually the pumps are big, at least 200% in size and on some rare occasions when the shitcoin is too small the pump can go up as high as a couple of thousand percentages. these rare big ones only happen when the shitcoin has a small market and a very thin order book with very few bag holders.
Exactly, this is a haven for pumpers group, Lol.

To the OP, I guess you haven't been here during the 2017, wherein ICO's are pumping very hard that's why pump-and-dump group started to take the center stage in the coming years.

Maybe the team itself is involved in their own token's pump to create more money for them. So I would shall that this fraudulent practice has been happening in the market for so long that no one is surprised by any shitcoin suddenly pumping so hard and then die along the way.
5648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi in Oxford English Dictionary on: October 27, 2019, 10:00:44 AM
This is normal because every year all reliable dictionaries and encyclopedias are always updating in which they will include all new words and discoveries to make their enterprise to become more salable in which this includes the Bitcoin and its related names because it is becoming more known and famous around the globe. Soon all the people in the world will know what is Bitcoin is.
I mean every year they have their process of updating their dictionary to include words that has caught the attention of the masses in the last year of so. So definitely adding 'satoshi', is already a big win for crypto enthusiast around the world.

We have been using that term for a long time, since bitcoin's inception and it's just about time that it is added in dictionaries, so that those who are not away of it will be familiarised and it could bring more people into the ecosystem because of this, who knows.
5649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 27, 2019, 09:43:31 AM
I thought the clippers were gonig to be strong favourites... Somehow they lost to the worst team in the league with the Suns. Big Lol.

Congrats to all of the players who bet moneyline on the suns, I guess. Clippers are likely to going to have games like these without PG13, but Kawhi should have really done a better job today given the circumstances.

This also makes me think that Suns are going to be vastly improved, they're 2-1 now and I don't think that's by accident.
Probably Clippers just having off-night and Suns playing good basketball and wanted to show everyone that they are no push over this season.

It was a galant offer on Clippers though, it was not as easy win for Phoenix as Clippers was still pushing in the last five minutes of the game. I guess Phoenix is the better tonight improving their record to 2-1. Still early to say that they are going to be the worst team or Clippers being the best team.
5650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 27, 2019, 09:18:03 AM
A great fight for both fighters the first round was for Demian Maia giving pressure to Askren with some punches even though Askren is doing some sneak attacks on the upper Maia keep on waging the fist on Askren, While on the 2nd round was Ben Askren had turned the table and pretty sure Maia was slow in this round but still when the 3rd round comes Maia was so crafty with his moves turning the tables against Askren by taking the submission and turning it on until Ben Askren got in a wrong position that Maia take the chance in taking the punches then the submission rear-naked choke on Askren,

Well they decided to have a stand-up fight on the duration of the fight and I think Askren has some success and caught Demian several times. There where attempts on Askren for a take down. Ben was successful with his upper cuts and when the fights goes to the ground,  Maia proved to be the superior one. Askren said that he had a lot of positions that he shouldn't be in the first place, that's why he lost.

I just the hype is over for Ben now, he can't back that big mouth of his because of two successive lost.
5651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is 1 bitcoin is a good price as now? on: October 26, 2019, 09:30:13 AM
As a bigginer 1 bitcoin or 1 BTC is good price for me because i have no idea to get 1 btc so there for i am willing to learn more how get or how to recieve more points or btc.
Did you just contradict yourself? You said you have no idea how to get 1 BTC then how can you say that 1 BTC is a good price?

If I where in your shoes, I will go around the forum first, read.. read.. and read..

And after you have learn what bitcoin is then you will know how people earn it, i.e. trading/investing. And then you can gauge what is the best for you, don't claim right away that 1 BTC is good because you may never know, maybe down the line you can earn a lot. Best of luck.
5652  Economy / Speculation / Re: some people love imagining doomsday when there is any drops! on: October 26, 2019, 09:00:34 AM
Expect this pump scenario will attract more FOMO's soon or some losers might be buying back their precious BTC's. Ive read yesterday about big recovery didn't expect that to happen early Grin. Unfortunate for people waiting for $6k drop few days ago but didn't happen, trully a violent drop but unexpected quick recovery.
If we see a magical pump up to the five digit, more will be attracted again pushing FOMO even more.

The thing is that people here are asking when is the right time to buy? The sign is all over, the price goes on $7400 and why are they still asking? Someone says wait for $7k or even lower. But look at what happen today, the price went on to almost $10k, and those who didn't buy are now scratching their head because they missed another golden opportunity.
5653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 26, 2019, 05:04:09 AM
[...]
Can I know how long will Klay Thompson is out? It's very unlikely for him to play for this 2019-20 season as I've read in a article that Steve Kerr said it's really hopeless for Klay as he will have an undergoing surgery in July 2020.

KT will not be playing this season. It is time for Curry to prove his true worth or the warriors will tank this year.

Warriors played really well for their game today. I can imagine how they'll be still the tough team having Klay Thompson in the court, but that's not gonna happen yet as he out for this season. Both offense was tremendous performance, but as I've seen in this game that warriors defense was quite the weak spot today's game, they should capitalize it.
Curry has a lot of turnovers, I think D'Angelo didn't score in the second quarter and was able to get points in the third quarter, their defense is very poor, so that's one thing they need to improved at. Because if they don't teams are going to exploit that.

No need to question Curry though, he already proven his worth as a true leader, with or without Durant. He even allow Durant to shine during those time that he is on the team.
5654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 Validators to Enjoy Up to 10% in Staking Returns on: October 26, 2019, 04:32:56 AM
I think 10% is just normal range about this so called staking returns. This kind of strategy has been employed by a lot of projects as well to prevent sudden dump of their tokens in the market.

But we are talking about ETH here, the most dominate alts in the market despite the price way below its previous high. Of course, it will received a lot of backlash specially for those miners who have invested so much on getting gears to mine the coins and suddenly ETH change its position as it is going POS now.
5655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin down on: October 26, 2019, 03:26:10 AM
Again, this kind of thread is good to look back at.

Just today alone bitcoin is going mad crazy and I wouldn't be surprised if we touch based $10k if their is enough momentum. We would have though that after plummeting to $7400 last Friday, bitcoin will rebound and will go on a dramatic rise to $10k today.

So let this be a lesson for everyone here: No one can predict the market movement, if the price is down, chances are it's going on the other direction. Bitcoin has proven it's resiliency, and what's funny is that there are so many so called experts that predict that price will still go down hard, in the line of $6k, but just look what happened next.
5656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Let this rise be a lesson - Bitcoin isn't strongly tied to anything on: October 26, 2019, 02:54:30 AM
Let this be a lesson to people who look for patterns - Bitcoin is random and unpredictable in short terms, just accept it.

Yes, I agree short term its hard to predict where the price is going to be. So as traders you really need to squeeze out to get something out of the market.

Just today alone based on coinmarketcap, bitcoin is having a field day and making gains of 30%, I mean, what the hell? Where's all the money coming from and what is the "logical" reason? No one can really tell because it's random and most of the time it's good if we ignore those patterns.
5657  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price today ! on: October 26, 2019, 02:28:26 AM
We really don't know what triggers the current market boost today. All of what you mentioned could be possible reasons for the recent rush to $10k.

But China news? I don't think it has something to do with the market going North today. We all know that they have made a U-turn already so I doubt that we can consider it the parameters for a sudden spike in the price. Maybe some whales are trying to manipulate the market, similar to what we have witnessed last April-June mini bull run.
5658  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Guess How Much Profit Coinbase Made Since Launched in 2012? on: October 26, 2019, 01:50:19 AM
Honestly I thought its more than that, I don't know if they are under declaring but most businesses I know are manipulating their record to understate their tax liability. But anyway, that's still a good profit, which means that having a business in crypto has a great potential to make investors rich, coinbased proved it right, and I think that Binance is also making even more than their profit.

Me too. I thought they should have made at least double that amount since they have been in the game for so long.

In other news, Binance just crossed $1 billion in cumulative profit. They just joined the picture in 2017 and according to reports they have accumulated $1 billion already. So that was very quick, so imagine how much those exchanges are going to make if we had another bitcoin bull run in the next coming years.
You can't compare the two, even though that Coinbase has a head start, that time crypto trading are very slow and obviously only few people have been trading since Coinbase was coming off from the Mt. Gox hacked.

While Binance enter when we are about to make a bull run in 2017. If I remember it correctly, they even suspended accepting members because the volume was too much. And perhaps that was the time wherein they racked lots of money too.
5659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Andy Ruiz vs Anthony Joshua II on: October 26, 2019, 01:09:15 AM
The goat is difficult to assess because the best in boxing are not fighting the other bests in boxing. You are a fan of Tyson Wilder, I am also, however, he is not the goat unless he fights Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua, who will win versus Andy Ruiz on December 7, and wins.
What ever be the case the heavyweight boxing is at an all time great spot after a very very long time, Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Joshua are talked about and trying to claim the goat status and we never had those competition in a very long time in boxing and hence the sport of boxing is making a resurgence and now Tyson Fury is stepping into the WWE too  Cheesy .

Do you think that Fury stepping into WWE will have tainted his reputation and claim to be the GOAT of this generation?

Those three Heavyweight should test each other to really see who the goat is, otherwise anyone of them will really claim that title and there could be a lot of discussion as to who really is the best ever amongst the three. Although Joshua has somewhat relegated to third spot because of his lost. However, he can regain some if he beats Ruiz convincingly in the rematch.
5660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin hit a new low since 2018 on: October 26, 2019, 12:36:41 AM
I don't think so if I remember correctly the lowest price since 2018 was around $3K so it is still too far from it,
But we could never know what could happen in the future so there could be a possibilities that it could happen.
But right now I don't think that it would crash deep down back below $3K.
Right, that's the lowest low we have so far, and today bitcoin recovers so there no more $5k-$6k, as others may have thought. And I don't think that we can reach as low as $3k again, support are very strong at $7k so I guess that's the lowest price we can see prior to the bitcoin block halving next year.

Remember that crash to $3k was not due to bitcoin's selling pressure, it was because of the whole Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV, hashing war that November 2018.
