5661  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: August 19, 2020, 07:33:59 AM
Covid is not the important issue - it is a recent variant of a 90 year old family of viruses, and a half-way decent immune system can knock it on the head in a couple of days. It won't be the cause of a new normal. The new normal will be an economic reset as the puppet masters change the world currencies, and an increase in unhealthy food, as they try to move us to synthetic products to benefit the money Pharmers.

Not sure where you get your ideas from, but you might want to rethink this one again. You say there will be an economic reset and yet corona is not important? All of the negative economic impacts this year are coming from corona. Except China basically all nations are not growing this year - how is that not important? And which currency are implying? Yuan? Cryptos? I guess your post wasn't so serious. But how can you say it's an important issue after 6 months of everyone just being affected by the pandemic?
5662  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffet bought “Gold” for the first time. When Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2020, 07:28:00 AM
Crwth you are right, we will not see Warren Buffet buying bitcoin, he is old man with conservative way of thinking
and apparently there's nothing that can change his mind. But in any case I think that his time passed, or it will pass
soon. Soon his successors will start making decisions and companies will either join new trend, crypto-currencies or
they will be left behind.

I would assume that crypto currencies just don't qualifiy as "value" for Warren Buffet. His very strong value orientated investing style always looks for hard assets. That's probably why he went also for the mining company instead of buying physical gold outright. He will still be a shareholder and has asset behind the company, like offices, land rights, equipment.
Even though bitcoins are the future I believe Warren Buffet would classify as too risky, as their is no government behind it or other form of security.
5663  Economy / Economics / Re: how in the world is btc at $12.303,28? on: August 18, 2020, 07:41:28 AM
I'm glad to see some anti bitcoin since I've been seeing a lot of posters bullish on bitcoin so far.
This make my day, $1 usd to $2 usd, are you kidding?

I understand that we can't control the price as it's very much unpredictable, but at least be realistic with your price, we are not in the early stage amigo.

And to ring your bell, bitcoin's ATH was almost $20,000 so $12k is not a surprised.

Yeah there is still so much room for bitcoins to rise. And the March drop in prices was because of the worldwide pandemic, no one knew what was going to happen. A classic panic sell - which is not justified. One day it seems the world is about to end and once the government reassures everyone with the printing press, people relax again. It feels like the OP is a little mad the prices keep going up. Maybe he sold all his holdings in March and was hoping for the price to drop further. I would not worry so much about the prices every day. Long term outlook for bitcoins is upwards. Better to hold than sell in my opinion.
5664  Other / Politics & Society / Re: social distancing ? covid on: August 18, 2020, 07:19:32 AM
Wait there is already a vaccine available. I dont think people will ever care about the virus until it hits his/her family.

Apparently there is a vaccine available, but I don't think it's fully tested yet. Who knows about the long term effects of the vaccine? I don't want to be the guy to test any bad effects of the vaccine. I mean Russia offered to help USA to develop a similar vaccine but they outright refused. Something must be not right with this one.

In my opinion most people will wait for more information on the vaccine and see what are the long term effects.

I agree with you many people seem very ignorant about corona and only change their approach once they know someone who is infected. If everyone would follow the social distancing safety measures we would be much better off. Let's hope there won't be a 3rd wave.

5665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice/ sent a crypto to wrong address on Coinbase. on: August 18, 2020, 07:13:59 AM
Hello, I am desperate and just looking for some guidance. I am new to crypto and was using dharma.io for the first time last night. I bought a wbtc but later on decided I wanted to transfer the asset to Coinbase. Again I am new so I accidentally sent it as wbtc to my ethereum wallet. So obviously it didn’t show up and I am scared like hell I lost the asset and 12 grand. I am in touch with Coinbase support and I sent them the transaction hash but am I SOL? It was an honest mistake from a crypto noob and I’m reading online they can’t or won’t get it back. I’m losing it and I need something guidance please. Thanks.

The chances are small you will get a back but you should try.

Unfortunately contacting the receiver of your funds is not really possible you would need to go via coinbase directly. Honestly I would just keep asking the support staff and see their reply. If they don't really want to help you I would retry the support team at different time and maybe you get more lucky with a different person on the support desk. Good luck, I know this really hurts. Happened to me too.

In the future better to tripple check the adress. I guess it's a mistake you will only do once.
5666  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you have $20k then where you want use it? on: August 18, 2020, 07:01:02 AM
In fact, it is an idea that will be discussed by many. what do you think about it Huh and which is your choice in below.

For crypto investment It is actually very risky to simply put your money in the hands of another stranger. So they can steal your capital at any time if they want. Also if you are not proficient in crypto you will not be able to makes profits.

Bank investment: you are more secure here and no one can move or steal your money. However, as far as I know the amount of your profit from the bank will be less.

Real Life Business: In real life you can do business like you can Open a Foods store orr Others.

Bank investments don't seems very good at the moment. You get almost no interest on your cash, after fees and inflation you are losing money. Buying stocks doesn't seems so good either. Prices are very high but the economicy is trailing due to corons. I would go for your other options.

I don't know much about starting a real life business so I can't give an opinion here. But is $20k really enough to start a business? I guess it depends on the country you are living in, I would assume you need more money. Especially if things don't go as planned and you need to cover expenses for a few months.

Crypto investments would probably be my plan. Bitcoins price is fairly high so I would only put a fraction of the money in Bitcoins  and ETH. The rest I would use for altcoins.
5667  Local / Treffen / Re: Bitcoin Frankfurt [--> UNCHAIN2020 - 28/29 August 2020 - Frankfurt/Main!] on: August 17, 2020, 04:20:24 PM

5668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: August 17, 2020, 04:17:11 PM
I think this is not for everyone. Once I have tried that  VR hardware set and after an hour or so got a terrible headache. Thought it was just an accidental and tried again in a week  but got the same result. Probably VR is nor suited  my brain. But the basic idea is not bad. If they added the support of tactile controllers especially for the hands of the  slot machines I would be happy.

Same here, having the VR headset on all the time is just frustrating because it's not really that conformatable, atleast for me. Among my friends I have only 2 guys who have a VR setup and only one of them plays regularly, the rest just prefer the good old desktop PC or just a console. Also don't forgot that the VR glasses are still very expensive. I would prefer using 1000$ to gamble than just to buy some hardware. But let's see, maybe in the future it well become cheaper and more comfortable.
5669  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: August 17, 2020, 02:44:03 PM
While the governments of a few nations impose taxes at the human beings to enhance their surroundings and economy, this isn't always feasible withinside the case of crypto. Crypto decentralization isn't always beneathneath anyone's control. Not all of us is compelled to make a earnings as they wish. The authorities can't receive any tax from now on this is why many nations do now no longer aid crypto and perform it as illegal. But making an investment in crypto allows enhance a country's economy.

As far as I see the tax aspect of cryptos it's very similiar to investing in stocks. You should not report any unrealized gains in change of our holdings. But if you sell your coins and make a nice profit you should definitely mention it in your tax returns. For me my online wallet is similar to the hidden swiss bank accounts from 50 years ago. No one knew you had them and governments couldn't check it either. But if you start keeping everything a secret you might be in trouble in 10-15 years down the road when you want to get some money back into FIAT. For me it's just not worth it to try and hide everything from the government.
5670  Other / Politics & Society / Re: -LET THE NEXT PANDEMIC BE LOVE- on: August 17, 2020, 02:24:46 PM
To be brief if pandemic is something of great attention -like we have seen with the corona virus- I can only pray/hope and wish that -THE NEXT PANDEMIC BE LOVE-  a pandemic that should never have a vaccine/cure or treatment, the world need some good measure of it.

This sounds wonderful. With more love in the world we wouldn't see any wars anymore. All this unnecessary killing could stop and people try to help each other instead of only looking for their personal benefits on the cost of others. But it just sounds too good to be true. The world is such a dark place  Embarrassed

We should all love the distant epidemic because love at our former men as it is today it is clear that the medical system in their time was not so much improved with everything. Everyone has tried to deal with the epidemic together that we must all work together to deal with the epidemic. No one can save us from this plague except Allah, so we must love the plague and pray. Only God can save us from this plague.

God won't save us. We must do it ourself. He gave us the tools to be independent and take care of ourself.
5671  Other / Off-topic / Re: Got slightly overcharged for fish and I can't let it go... on: August 17, 2020, 12:30:04 PM

I know logically I shouldn't even care. You win some you lose some. It's not malice, it's just a little bit of incompetence. Well, the complete wrong fish label is a big fuck up and technically illegal but since I know what fish I'm buying and they know and the price is 100% the same that doesn't matter

You said it yourself that you shouldn't care about it. Especially if the loss is less than $1, it's just not worth it to get mad about small things like this. In my country it's pretty normal that people try to rip you off for a few cents on the markets. It's just standard practice I guess. You either have to tripple check everything directly at the market or let it go. You don't really know how hard the life of the seller is, maybe he really needs the money. Better not to get mad about such small things. Life is hard enough.
5672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Strongman - Shaw Classic December 2020 on: August 17, 2020, 09:15:22 AM
The first Shaw Classic tournament is going to take place in Colorado on December 12th.

The lineup sounds amazing for anyone following world strongest man competitions in the past.
https://fitnessvolt.com/lineup-for-shaw-classic/

So far the news are still pretty fresh and the organizations seems still at the start. Corona restrictions on travelling will probably be a bigger concern but let's remain optimistic.

It's probably to early to find any betting on this but I would love to bet on this event. Anyone else interested?

Mateusz Kieliszkowski is still so young and yet in such a great condition, I think he has one of the best chances to win this one. But then again Brian in his home Gym should definitely offer a great show.

5673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: August 17, 2020, 09:04:15 AM
For a Value, we can see that somehow Bitcoin is really valuable and much easier to get since Gold is harder to get and you need to do rigorous work before gaining Gold. We cannot also ignore the fact that Gold is much more famous in the physical world since Bitcoin cannot reach all places without the availability of the Internet. There are also some Cryptocurrencies that is being backed by Gold and we can see that, that is a good sign that we are really advancing in our technologies.

As technology advances we will see crypto currencies be more valuable than gold. Gold is heavy and needs a lot of security to be stored en mass. Moving large quantities of gold is such a security risk that governments use planes and submarines to move them to different locations. The cost of that compared to the transaction fees of crypto currencies ist just not feasible enough in the long run. Compared to crypto currencies you don't have all these problems, sure you need cyber security and internet access but still it's only a fraction of the cost compared to storing gold. Don't get me wrong commodities and gold in particular are still very valueable and will keep being so in the future. I would recommend holding some precious metals in every portfolio.
5674  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Migration of Millionaires. Can Bitcoin change this scenario? on: August 17, 2020, 08:19:38 AM
I don't know whether the data regarding millionaire migration in the opening post can be trusted or not, if that data is true
it is surprising that the Chinese state with a strong economy can occur many millionaires leaving the country. Possible Chinese
government imposes a hefty tax on millionaires in China. So the rich in China feel the government is stealing their money, then
they decide to migrate to countries that have lower taxes. I think Bitcoin is too risky to store large amounts of money, because
the price of Bitcoin is volatile and by moving it into Bitcoin is not the best solution.

Also the Yuan is still controlled by government and not trading freely which makes chinese millionaires who have all their wealth lagging behind in comparison to other FIAT currencies. The chinese government doesn't want their currency to appreciate so they will keep it low. Which makes it very interesting to invest outside of China. All around the world rich chinese investors are buying land, apartments and houses in so many different countries. For example in an apartment complex here in Germany half of the apartments where sold to Chinese investors, without them ever seeing the apartment in person. They don't even live here or plan on moving here. The apartments also won't be rented out, they are just empty. It's a storage of value for them in a different currency. Since you won't get any interest from the banks you it's better to just buy real estate because it will likely keep their value or even go up.
5675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If someone mistakenly sent you 1 ETH, what would you do? on: August 17, 2020, 08:02:26 AM
I don't think a smart guy would send a Eth to unknown address without double checking.

Mostly he is gonna copy paste the address anyway.

In case he sends it I think most people wouldn't send it back to him.

I agree most people wouldn't send it back. It similar to finding a lot of money on the streets. Who would honestly report it to the police? If you don't personally know the person that lost the money, humans tend to not bother about the misfortunate of a random stranger. Personally I would probably just keep it and wait what happens. It would be very hard to contact the sender with the huge anonymitiy in crpytos.  In the end I probably would exchange half of it into Bitcoins and keep the rest.
5676  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: August 17, 2020, 07:29:03 AM
My main aim on bitcointalk.org is to be Member whom other forum member will archive knowledge from and in that making you get paid through hard works like promoting bounty Campaign projects. I guess many who quickly join only get inspired of the money other members make out from Bitcointalk. But trust me that's not it Bitcointalk has saved lots of forum members as in it has become a huge eye opener to many crypto enthusiast today.

With a mindset like this you should get very far on this forum. Everyone started somewhere and if your goal is to learn more about crypto currencies rather than only make money, you will likely be around in the years to come. People who only join this forum to make a few bucks and are not fully interested in cryptos usually disappear after 3-6 months. With bitcoin prices as high as they are today the chances of earning a high return are not so lucrative anymore as they were 5 years. Just stick around and good things will happen.
5677  Economy / Economics / Re: Lithuania President gifted crypto to Estonian President. on: August 17, 2020, 07:25:18 AM
The EU nations in general have some of the most liberal cryptocurrency laws, when compared to the United States or Latin America. And it is surprising because only a small fraction of the cryptocurrency ventures (cryptocurrency exchanges, investment sites.etc) are based in Europe. Even if you look at the ICO sector, only a few are based in the European Union.

Also the baltic nations are highly advanced in terms of internet. Due to adopting the EUR and being heavily funded by the European Union the countries got their infrastructure completely newly build in the last years. It's very good for the small nations with a small population to be in the EU because they get proportionaley higher benefits and voting rights.

Estonia is rank #13 and Lithuania rank #21 in the Digital Quality of Life Index.

https://en.delfi.lt/lifestyle/lithuania-rises-to-21st-position-in-digital-quality-of-life-rating.d?id=84998193

No wonder that crypto currencies become even attractive for the presidents.
5678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT on: August 17, 2020, 07:12:25 AM

It wont really be that much but for people  who do live on a country which usd rate or value is sufficient for their living then those small returns would really be enough on
weekly basis but for people who do live on rich country then returns of your gambling house investment wont really be that appealing at all.

House do always win in the end but doesnt mean that you are risk-free on having negative profit specially if whale do hit win big time on the site.

It might not be always but there would really be a specific time for the house to experience such big win and it does really effect investors.

I think similiar, if you live in the West with high standards of living it might not be enough the 1% return to really earn a living. But if you cost of living are much lower these returns can really be a lot if you can easily conver them into USD.

Investing into the house is a good way of diversifying your investment. And in the current low interest rate environment 1% is not so bad at all. Casinos are pretty save and people always want to gamble especially in times of corona where most of the physical casino have a lot of restrictions.
5679  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it good to always be honest in everything you do? on: August 17, 2020, 06:53:52 AM

So being honest will make you live a good life because your conscience will always be at peace. Even, the only people mad at you for speaking the truth are those living a lie life. So being honest and speaking the truth in everything you do is the best way to live life for me.

By the way, I will like to see  what you think about this.

Being honest is definitely a good virtue but in business there is a lot of ruthlessness involved. I would not recommend to lie explicititly but I would also not recommend to always tell the full truth no matter. Imagine being in a job interview and your future boss asks you about bad things from your past. Do you really want to be 100% honest here? I think there should be differences between things you tell your family, things you tell your friends and of course things you tell your colleagues.
5680  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: August 16, 2020, 06:52:39 PM
How is Bernie Sanders still first in this poll and Andrew Yang second? With his Chinese/Taiwanese background I didn't expect Yang to be so popular here.

The elections this year will definitely be very interesting. So far my money is on Democrats with this huge lead at the moment.
