5661  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: November 11, 2016, 03:39:56 AM
No, 2022 is still to early to be used by everyone, maybe it will be much popular but not more than that in my opinion.
2022 is not super far away and I think that the bitcoin needs more years to accomplish that.

We can't predict the future, who knows, there might be a life changing event that could affect bitcoin in a good way... But that's true, in 2022 the surest thing to happen is that bitcoin will be popular but people might still be hesitant to use it, it really needs more years...  Smiley
Since this thread is posted in the Economics' Section, lets relate Bitcoin with supply and demand, we all know that Bitcoins has a limited quantity in which it can only be 21,000,000 after that nothing more can be mined by miners, so we have a limited supply. The demand part will be the tricky one as I know many people hoarded Bitcoin and holding it until now and is waiting for its Price to Boom. The demand for bitcoin will be the driver if it can be recognize by everyone in 2022
5662  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 11, 2016, 03:13:55 AM
I think it is definitely wiser to invest it. If you just hold your savings, then you still have a risk of say, a bank run, or the currency itself depreciating in value. You can however hedge against that with smart investment choices. This is why investors, but not savers, are the richest people in the world. Also, investing means that you are helping other people to get their projects started. It's a win-win situation, if you pick the right investments to aim at.
Investing is always the better option since with saving alone you won't come anywhere with interest rates being on an all time low. On top of that you also face the issue of fiat losing value.

But you have to know where to invest. If you look at how people here seem to invest, then I can't really call it investing since it has more similarities with gambling.

Aside from that, the majority of the people don't really care whether their investment in a certain project or start-up helps them our or not. They just care about the potential returns.
Yes fiat currency tends to lose their value because of inflation and that is why even if banks have interest it tends to be eaten up by Inflation because the Inflation Rate is greater than the Interest of a bank saving account. Meanwhile in Investing they not only defeat the Inflation Rate but it also gives you a chance to be a rich person because saving your money in an Investment can really pay off big in the long term mind set.
5663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin without Altcoin ? on: November 10, 2016, 05:17:01 PM
If bitcoin no other alternative may bitcoin coin will not have a rival. Because bitcoin and other alternative coin is a competitor who continues to want to be better. If bitcoin without coin other alternatives may not be good, because it is definitely bitcoin has no rivals so it is difficult to develop.

I don't think that the rival coins of bitcoin are supporting bitcoin to develop in any way, rather bitcoin helps them to get a better user database as people using bitcoin mostly trade alt coins in order to earn more bitcoins, so bitcoin actually does not require any other coin or rival in order to develop.
Nope, Bitcoin can't be better. Even if there are other altcoins out there Bitcoin cannot do anything to improve, like increasing the 21,000,000 limit of Bitcoin that can be produce. Also it is a clear picture that Bitcoin already has a lot of competitor trying to dethrone Bitcoin as the # 1 cryptocurrency in the market but none even Ethereum can go close to the price of Bitcoin.
5664  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you put all your money into bitcoin? on: November 10, 2016, 04:47:08 PM
Actually I haven't really invested in bitcoin. Don't get me wrong I love Bitcoin and have been around it for years. It's just that I enjoy watching it from the outside, maybe in the future I'll invest in some longterm BTC holdings but right not I think watching suits my position.
Don't you think it's a risky position? I mean, with segwit about to be activated, and considering the political and economic changes around the world, the Bitcoin scenario seems a bit optimistic at the moment.
But why are you still watching the movement of Bitcoin? Right now the price of Bitcoin is currently going up after a 3 month low from around 500$ now it reached the 700$ mark, I am still considering that the price of Bitcoin today is undervalued considering the fact that it had reached the 1000$ mark. My suggestion for you bro is that now is the time to invest your money to Bitcoin to take advantage of the discounted value.
5665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on sport = gambling? on: November 10, 2016, 03:23:51 PM
i think all kind of bet is called gambling because we don't know what will happen as result , and someone might be win / loss and it is gambling
You are right as betting is just sub-set of gambling. Still, we can classify what is gambling and what is betting according to the nature of what we are doing. Betting will not be riskier similar to gambling as as we are not using the term betting for a luck based games. Testing your luck might be gambling and others maybe classified as betting.
I am sure that betting is also gambling, even though you analyze everything with the 2 teams it is even out because of odds, don't you think bookies already know who you will be betting and what team will they put the odds on? Of course, they are already in line with this kind of work, if they didn't they wouldn't last even a season of a league. All of that is because even in sports there is still a random chance that what you analyzed will go to the opposite of the result you are hoping.
5666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does a President Trump mean for Bitcoin? on: November 10, 2016, 02:06:01 PM
Several factors can affect Bitcoin's price but that is not including Trump being a president, although he can execute an Executive Order for Banning Bitcoin it would have little effect on it, as they will have a hard time for identifying the owner of that bitcoin address. Also take a look at other countries that ban bitcoin, yet the citizens there still manage to use bitcoin.
5667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin transactions - Slow OR Fast on: November 10, 2016, 07:07:00 AM
Bitcoin transactions are incredibly fast if you compare it to the clearing times that Western Union and other money transfer "experts" offer. It is instantaneous across the globe, no matter where you are and who you are. However, the confirmations that are required are often taking a long time and is quite annoying especially if you are trying to take advantage of arbitrage between the markets.
I can't say its very fast for something done online. Of course Western Union and other Remittance centers are slow you have to communicate and confirm if there is enough money in that branch your are sending in, you don't also expect that the one you are sending money will be expecting that money fast. In Bitcoin for a virtual currency the transaction time now is so long that hoping for it to be present in local businesses is slim to none.
5668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: November 10, 2016, 04:17:43 AM
Wow Andrew Wiggins is becoming a better player also having a great win against Orlando Magic today, maybe its his motivation because his 2k rating is just 82. Having the average of 23.2 PPG 4.2 RPG with 46% FG shooting and 67% from beyond the arc. That is a major upgrade from last season. I hope the Wolves' slump will end with straight wins this month.
5669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: November 10, 2016, 01:17:33 AM
the reason I still coming back even I'm a loser on gambling because of the crowds the sounds, the sounds of the chips. and especially The money . we're gonna be addicted in gambling when you feel winning but still losing. you know why ? because gambling is not for long term it should be for a short time period if you won you must go home and take away your prize. but if you don't care about your money you're free to waste it through gambling  Grin
Well from what I read about it, you don't care if you win or lose, proving that gambling is entertainment for you, But it is different from what I have experienced, when we were playing Baccarat I never saw a man happy when they lose a bet they won't laugh or smile if their friends are not around, the atmosphere of a casino makes you feel like you are still winning even if you are losing.
5670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: November 10, 2016, 12:36:28 AM
I think it a bit ridiculous... There is no reason to spend all your money in one thing that makes you lose money.

If you aren't making profit, just go away, don't play anymore. If you can't do this simple thing, sorry,
but you are a weak person and should look for special treatment, like a psychiatrist.
Going to a Psychiatrist does not guarantee that you will stop Gambling, but it is the best solution together with Rehab also having time with your family can actually make you feel better. And also keep your mind distracted away from gambling to prevent you to even think about gambling, as your mind is only tempting you to do gambling again.
5671  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: November 09, 2016, 05:26:12 PM
You can do both and it's better to do both because the risk to lose money is lesser. In my opinion you can save the 75% of your money and the rest of it you can invest it. In the worst case you will learn a few thinks about investments.
I don't think spending 25% of your money to investing will reach you anything anytime soon.  Also how can it be lesser if you do both? The thing is the money you earn must also be spend in expenses for your daily living. To be future-ready you must invest money rather than save it in a bank which lowers the value of your money rather than earn something with it.
5672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: November 09, 2016, 02:58:17 PM
Yes it is indeed being used for illegal activities. The main reason? Provides no way to trace the person apparently. Yet, it is even easier to find some Bitcoin criminal than someone selling drugs and receiving notes.
How can they be easier to find? Heck criminals of Bitcoin are harder to find then real criminals, why? Because they do their felonies online, it is easy for them to create a new website in minutes claiming their company is real, with new emails they can create new Bitcoin addresses in which they can transfer what they stole and make it more untraceable.
5673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoin protects against geopolitical risk on: November 09, 2016, 01:44:26 PM
Yes that is what Bitcoin is good about it has freedom compared to other Fiat Currencies in which a government can control. Unlike Fiat money it can't be manipulated by any country as it moves independently. Also the only control that Bitcoin is that it is limited but as of now not all Bitcoin are mined. It is safe to say that the halving process is doing its thing for it.
5674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin's price rise above $1000 because Trump was elected president? on: November 09, 2016, 09:41:47 AM
It is all just speculation for know, even if he really said he will support Bitcoin it doesn't mean it will come true, also one country's government won't affect the price of bitcoin in a big way, And if you notice in the recent weeks Bitcoin's price is gradually going up and I think it is just a mere coincidence that Trump won the U.S. Elections we must now monitor our Assets closely in the coming days.
5675  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: November 09, 2016, 08:11:41 AM
It is said that bitcoin will destroy the fiat system but i believe that if this happens the world will change completly because banks and a lot of things will go out of market.
I can't imagine how bitcoin could destroy the fiat system, it can't be forever.
Bitcoin will always go through the way side by side with fiat system due to every country have their own currency as national identity.
Government and banks will adopt blockchain technology to make it happen, let see how it works in the future.

In 2022, six years later is a short period for bitcoin used by almost everyone, just about 15-20% of world population I thought.
Because not everyone trust virtual money that can not be touched and people still love to using fiat money.

That is right. I think it is very possible that the bitcoin will coexist with the bitcoin for the next few decades.
If you look the maximum amount of Bitcoin that can be mined that is 21,000,000, do you think it is enough to overtake any currency which can be printed many times? Of course not even if the price of Satoshis is way up it is not enough to be distributed to all of us living in the Earth.  But I agree that Bitcoin can be a kind of online currency in which can be use by the majority of people someday.
5676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016 U.S. Presidential Election Prediction Thread on: November 09, 2016, 06:31:49 AM
since i heard that if Trump become President of United States , bitcoin price will rising, i put my prediction on trump  Grin , maybe not prediction but hope , don't know what will happen in future but the important thing for me is bitcoin price rising  Grin
With Donald Trump on the lead it greatly affected the whole market not only the price of Bitcoin in a positive way but also majority of the stocks in my country also got down, not including the one related to Donald Trump which grew 25% up until this time. But seeing the market red is also a good sign for investors, because they can buy stocks at a big discount. I hope the affect of Donald Trump is only the reaction of nervous foreign investors.
5677  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: November 09, 2016, 04:43:03 AM
Buying a house when bitcoin goes up very high I think is a good idea but you should convert it into fiat first. You must do that since theres no one who will accept bitcoin for a real estate. I think buying a house is a very good idea specially if you are just renting a house, you would save a lot of money if you do that. It also will give good feeling to ya, since you won't need to worry for a rent anymore.
you are right if someone want to buy a house you will must convert their bitcoin into fiat because i do not think that people will sell their house with bitcoin because some people do not know about bitcoin that bitcoin si which type of currency and how to use it and i think maximum people will sell their house with cash payment .

Buying a house is not so cheap and you need a good amount of money with you to buy a house. It does not matter if you have Fait, bitcoins or Gold and you convert Bitcoin/Gold to local money and buy the house. The thing which matter is you need to have that much amount of total money.
Well if it goes up very high don't you think it is because of the rise of demand? If that is the case then isn't it right that anyone is willing to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment. But in terms of a stable currency than you are right that you need to convert it to Fiat so that when you are buying a house the value of your money won't fluctuate and it is easy to budget your money because it is stable.
5678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: November 08, 2016, 04:57:59 PM
I hope the Timberwolves will beat the Nets at their game. I don't know but the standing (1-4) they have is kinda the depressing to see after what other GMs expect on our team only winning 1 game out of 5 makes me ask myself where did they go wrong again this time. I really hope they get straight wins in the upcoming days as I am optimistic for them making in the playoffs.
5679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: November 08, 2016, 08:59:06 AM
But Bitcoin itself does not promote criminal acts, its what the crimanal's ideas that make Bitcoin look bad. If you can see it properly Bitcoin has been created for anonymity and privacy in which crimanals took advantage of, well its too late now for the government to stop the circulation of Bitcoin if that is there solution as many people already own a hefty amount of Bitcoin as there asset.
5680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: November 08, 2016, 08:34:14 AM
Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?

There is the possibility Bitcoin may be replaced, especially if the quantity is lost on dead addresses.  However, in the current use of Bitcoin, there are still the matter of projects using Bitcoin as a foundation for development.  Projects that create a positive image can also leave Bitcoin valuable support to how the public can have more use to cryptocurrency.  History of Bitcoin and what has been accomplished will still be there if it does get replaced.
How can there be a dead address for Bitcoin? When the owner forgot his/her password on his/her wallet? If that is the case retrieving it would be easy for the owner. Also it cannot affect on how it will be overtaken by another coin as quantity is not the only factor of altcoins to replace Bitcoin. There are many ICOs that happened during the past months all of them failed maybe necause on the part that Bitcoin is still thriving.
