Yap, it doesn't look good.

Eventually all the Napster-style bitcoin business models will fail and be replaced by P2P Bittorrent-like replacements.

I liked the analogy, gonna use it sometime. Smiley

Let's say a US citizen goes to China and orders a hamburger. Your logic indicates that you think the Chinese restaurant has to (or should have to) have the food inspected by the US FDA. That's absurd.

A chinese restaurant operating in china, no one sane would call that the US market. Its the chinese market and chinese laws will apply.

But a chinese company doing online sales of hamburgers, drugs, bitcoins or securities to US residents in the US, yes that is the US market and it doesnt matter one yota if its a chinese company doing it,  or if its from any other country.

You are free to use or create an exchange that meets your requirements for legal compliance and "professionalism." You want force your standards on everyone else, which I think is unethical, and so I have strong feelings of antipathy towards you.

Allowing illegal exchanges requiring no disclosures, no financial reserves, no safety guarantees, no nothing to compete with legal and compliant one's isnt exactly my idea of fair competition or even of a free market.

What do you consider a free market then? A market with regulations?

There must be some rules in place so it can be fair for everyone.

I meant has a feature.

I haven't tested yet, but it is one of the features.

Next example, you guys should get this reference.  Thousands of years ago a man tripped mushrooms, lost his ego and found the answer to life.  He stood up against the Roman empire telling everyone to love one another and share.  He told the people truths they would not find until death, that life is infinite and you have the choice to believe if you go to heaven or repeat a life on a lower dimension like earth.  He stood up and taught the word of god to his people no matter the response of the power structure at the time.  He knew full well he would be crucified for standing up for love in a greedy, hateful society.  Two pieces of wood and a few nails later, people gained the power to believe in Jesus because they had proof that what he was saying was right.

Spartacus fought and died for a noble cause way before that nut job appeared.

"Yet you shall always be remembered.
In the hearts of all who yearn for freedom."

Doesn't RetroShare have boards?

Look at cex.io right now. You can buy 1 GH/s for 0.2125 BTC, but 1 GH/s will never mine more than 0.1850 BTC (assuming an average difficulty increase of 20%).

Even assuming that cex.io is legitimate, why would anyone pay 0.2125 BTC to mine 0.1850 BTC?

I don't think this business model will ever work simply because there is no reason for cex.io to mine bitcoins for someone else when they could make more money by mining for themselves.

I've also done some math when first saw this site, it doesn't seem to be a good deal...

Anyone can elaborate why we should invest there?

Personally I have no problem with governmental regulation at the exchanger level, because its super easy to launder the Bitcoins after or before exchanging in or out. USD can already be easily tracked, so it makes sense to make the exchange process as clean as possible.

Can you provide a hypothetical example explaning how bitcoins can be laundered? To get started, let's assume I have been milking my neighbour's cows and selling the raw milk for bitcoins, falsely advertising it as mother's milk. There are several more-or-less illegal aspects of my business. I need to launder those coins. Please enlighten me. Let your creativity run wild. The end goal is to have the coins laundered, meaning I can convincingly demonstrate that my coins in fact originate from some sort of legal business.

1. You open a webstore where you sell spells
2. Mix the coins
3. You buy yourself a lot of spells
4. ...
5. Profit!

Spells? Like in Harry Poter?

Yes, love spells, stop smoking spells, protection spells...

Fact from imagination?  Are you sir aware that you are living in a dream?  Every night you have many other lives and you fall back to one dream, because you chose so.  Those other dreams you experience are very real.  Do you remember any random day better than a dream?

I discovered weed when I was suicidal, it gave me a new perspective on life, I was happy.  I tripped acid and found god, peace and understanding, literally in every way.

I have the awareness of a higher dimension being from taking psychedelics that increase your perception of senses.  This is why the CIA nearly hired drug cartels to assassinate me.  This is why I will succeed in bringing peace to this world and you all will know the truth.

This is why the CIA nearly hired drug cartels to assassinate me.

5692  Economy / Securities / Re: DPS - Don't Panic Sell - BitFunder Passtrough-ish Service on: October 10, 2013, 06:03:30 PM
First of all, who would trust you? Second by doing that you would be the new "bitfunder" and you would be "breaking" the law instead of the site.

Sorry, what law am I breaking?

I actually spoke with a friend of mine, who is a lawyer, and he assured me that there's no problem with this.

If someone doesn't want to trust me, just sell the shares, I'm just offering a different option...
5693  Economy / Securities / DPS - Don't Panic Sell - BitFunder Passtrough-ish Service on: October 10, 2013, 02:54:22 PM
You don't have a driver's license? No passport or credit cards? No problem, I'll manage your BitFunder portfolio!

Conditions:

  • I'll keep your stock as long as you want, collect dividends, sell when you want, will send profits and dividends to an address at your choice.
  • This service is not intended to break any law or rule, this is directed to people who cannot have their account verified because they don't have the required documentation. I will have to manage at least one of my friends portfolio because he has no driver's license, credit cards or even passport, these are not trivial stuff to have.
  • There's a limited number of people I'll be able to work with, this is not intended to be a massive operation, just a gentleman's agreement between me and a few people.
  • I wont be able to do daytrading, unless it is really profitable to pay my time.
  • Buying new stock is also an option on the table.

So, if you have no other option besides selling at a great loss, consider this service, further information via PM.

I believe him because I know for a fact life goes on post death.  I know our family is on the other side, along with infinite possibilities.

I did not believe this when I was younger but through evolution of my consciousness, I've understood how eternal life is not only possible, but eminent.

I can feel he's right, we shall find out one day.

Where's your Nobel Prize?

A discovery like that will grant you one, I guess...

Plus, reality doesn't care about your feelings, when we go the doctor he doesn't say, "I fell you have cancer", astronomers don't say "We feel there's a planetary system with five planets 500 light-years from here", no one should, or can, define and discover reality based on their feelings!

I don't know about you, but I'm competent enough to feel when someone is telling the truth or not.  I had a long three hour conversation with this guy, I know he wasn't lying.  He was an original character, though I'm sure he is not alone with his abilities.

Try having a little faith, it feels good.

People don't need to be liars to invent stories, there are a lot of mental illnesses that cause delusions, like schizophrenia, also people can be mentally sane and be a victim of his own perception...

Here is some wisdom from the 17th century. It is from a book written by
Joseph de la Vega
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_de_la_Vega

The first rule in speculation is: Never advise anyone to buy or sell shares. Where guessing correctly is a form of witchcraft, counsel cannot be put on airs.

The second rule: Accept both your profits and regrets. It is best to seize what comes to hand when it comes, and not expect that your good fortune and the favorable circumstances will last.

The third rule: Profit in the share market is goblin treasure: at one moment, it is carbuncles, the next it is coal; one moment diamonds, and the next pebbles. Sometimes, they are the tears that Aurora leaves on the sweet morning's grass, at other times, they are just tears.

The fourth rule: He who wishes to become rich from this game must have both money and patience.

Bold/emphasis is mine.

Wise words. Smiley

Sorry if I missed it,

but what if we still wanted to keep our shares as US Citizens? How would we be collecting dividends and potentially sell our shares later?

You need someone verified to do that for you.
