@HCP here is some more information and first look from the inside of the new Coldcard Mk4 hardware wallet ontheir  coinkite substack page.
You also have the answer to your question about shipping, they say it will be handled later when the device is ready for sending.

Coldcard Mk4 (announced in 2022)

https://coinkite.substack.com/p/coldcard-mk4-early-bird-reservation

And this is how ColdCard Mk3 looks from the inside, so we can notice some major design changes on PCB.
I was surprised when I found out that you can even purchase old and now insecure Coldcard Mk2 wallet on some websites like blockstream store for $99, and it's in stock  Roll Eyes

Coldcard Mk3 (announced in 2019)

Coldcard Mk2 (insecure because of old secure element ATECC508A)

Coldcard Mk1 (announced in 2017)

5702  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: January 23, 2022, 11:58:30 PM
Yeah, I did order there once using Superbuy. The topic of anonymously receiving packages is definitely interesting. One more topic that would fit best into the recently suggested 'cybersecurity' or maybe better 'security & privacy' subforum. I doubt it will happen though since we should use Off-topic or another highly spammed board instead, probably.
This topic could be related with Bitcointalk forum and best way to receiving packages from other forum members in most secure and private way, so it won't have to be in off-topic section.
I was thinking about this after I saw one of the BitcoinTalkShow video, when they announced winners will receive unique rewards, custom t-shirts, etc.
My idea is the we could all receive some kind of anonymous bitcointalk passport, or maybe we could print them ourselves, and sign a message to confirm we are the owners of them forum profile and passport.
I know could sounds crazy to some people, but I think this could be much better and have big value one day, than all this NFT bs.

Something like this, but for Bitcointalk forum:

5703  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Bitcoin DEX on: January 23, 2022, 11:39:13 PM
I suggest that you change the label "email" to "username"
He could use that option, but than he would need to add information that @ symbol is required for the username.
Something similar is used in some log in services when they ask you to make password more complicated with addition of special characters #$%& or brackets, in addition to letters and numbers.
In addition I would add information to create more complex ''email salt'' because if you use something like I did x@x it can be cracked much easier, intheory.

I would also add a button "generate random username".
I wouldn't do that.
After doing some research I found out that random is not always random, especially if generated online on websites.

I looked at USDT rich list and there are still some usdt in omni (bitcoin blockchain)
Isn't it better yo use it?
I don't know if there are testnet coins available for that, and I think that RobinLinus is not using USDT directly.

Here is a more technical writeup of this project. Maybe it would have been better to start the thread with this summary instead of dumping the prototype on you without much background info  Grin
Thanks, I will check it out.
I am sure people are interested in using alternative dex exchanges, but you need to have rock solid proposal to attract more attention.
5704  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BitcoinTalkShow] How to pronounce Bitcointalk usernames video on: January 23, 2022, 11:25:39 PM
Thanks, that is one plot twist.
Your forum last name Valenzuela is exactly the same like first class city in Philippines, that must have some deeper meaning.

Justified. Honestly, “Marcel”, a fox cycling with LoyceV as a username? Fun fact: When I was still a newbie I thought he was a female. That's the beauty of pseudonymity.
Now I see the bigger picture and conspiracy behind Foxpup merit cycling.
It's one big girl power movement, so I am suspecting that all members could be females only or wannabes.
Prove me wrong.

5705  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Icynote - Swiss cold paper wallet on: January 23, 2022, 11:15:58 PM
If you want I can sold one note, not redeemed/untouched (btc payment) ... shipment from EU Wink !
Thanks, I will think about it. Can you tell me how much you are asking for this and what notes do you have?
I know I could probably find stuff like this collectibles section, but they must add Bitcoinpayment directly on website, and that is not so hard now with BTCPayServer or Coinbase Commerce.
They look funny and very unproffesioonal selling something Bitcoin related without accepting it.
5706  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Lowest Priced Exchange For Buying and Transferring BTC on: January 23, 2022, 11:10:39 PM
First rule, DON'T keep any coins on centralized exchanges, or be ready to accept the risk and lose everything in event of next hack that is ready to happen.
You are not a trader and you don't have a clue what you are doing, so it makes it even worse.

So I'm wondering what the cheapest way would be for me to send money to each of these exchanges?
You don't need to use five exchanges for this, and you don't need to complicate things when you already know what fees they charge.
Going for cheapest option is not always the best and I don't understand why would you send fiat money there and exchange it with fake fiat like USDT that is much more risky.

Just upload an amount via credit card or bank transfer to each of these exchanges?
Credit cards have highest fees for sending to exchanges so you can eliminate this option.
Bank transfers usually have less fees than credit cards.

Should I upload the total amount to one exchange, and then transfer from that exchange to all the other exchanges, and bear the network fee?
Depending on coins and network you are using, you will have to pay withdrawal fees that can be very high sometimes, so it's double waste of money if you do this.

Any idea as to the best and cheapest route to take?
I will say this for the last time and I will not repeat.
Buy directly using p2p trading, pay with cash or use decentralized exchange Bisq.
5707  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The Bitcoin DEX on: January 22, 2022, 11:00:07 PM
I played around the rules and entered some random characters during registration process, so I managed to test register even with fake email containing only @ character with two letters, one before and one after.
This is probably not great for security, but since this is acting as a salt you can just type longer random passphrase containing one @ character, it doesn't have to be email at all.

I don't like that you are using some new stablecoin connected with USDT token on ethereum blockchain, and I don't understand how this exactly work.
Can you please explain to me how this exchange can be called decentralized when it's available on only as web version and it's operated by centralized server?
If someone attacks or shuts down the server, what happens with exchange?
There is already decentralized exchange for Bitcoin called Bisq, but you need to download and sync software on your computer.

I will do more testing of this exchange in next few days, and post my feedback.
5708  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BitcoinTalkShow] How to pronounce Bitcointalk usernames video on: January 22, 2022, 10:41:07 PM
LoyceV =  Loys Ve or Louise Ve

Loyce is obviously a female name, so maybe I have to start addressing LoyceV as she from now on.
I don't see a problem with that if people can still claim Lauda was a female, and I think that someone mentioned before that V is the first letter of a very long last name.
5709  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Coldcard Mk4 NFC Spec for developers on: January 22, 2022, 10:18:21 PM
If I try to purchase a Mk3, it gives me 3 different options (postal, Fedex or DHL)... but in the Mk4 pre-order, it skips over the shipping options straight to the payment option?
This is only pre-order so you are just paying reservation for you Mk4 Coldcard wallet, they will probably notify you with email when shipping is ready and if you need to pay more for that.
At the moment free shipping option is only available if you spend $390 or more on Coinkite products, and I doubt they will send it for for worldwide, maybe it will be available for Canada and United States.
After adding five Coldcard Mk4 wallets in my Cart I got free delivery option for my order, but I won't complete that order.

I see people already complaining about NFC, so NKV is saying they can disable it manually by just scraping that little gold trace:

5710  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Suite- highly recommended on: January 22, 2022, 10:00:26 PM
You don't need to muck around with TOR settings or opening in a "non Onion" browser or anything like that if you just want to get the TXID... simply double click on the partial TX ID shown in Trezor Suite (so that it is highlighted) and then CTRL+C (or right click and select "copy")... it will actually copy the entire TXID to the clipboard:
OMG I can confirm this is actually working Smiley
But Trezor devs could do this much better instead of using double click without any pop up notification, most newbies will probably never use this simple method.
Most of the people would just click on that small square and open that transaction in web browser, so let me ping @ChiBitCTy with this revelation.
5711  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Icynote - Swiss cold paper wallet on: January 22, 2022, 09:49:18 PM
It's a little suspicious for me that OP Elena Meleshko and FrankGraham posted in same thread and they both speak Russian language, so there is a high probability this accounts are connected.
You need to make some corrections you posted and remove ftp:// from last two links.

It is a kind of cool bitcoin wallet in the form of paper money that resembles banknotes traditional.
I think this is just overpriced printed paper with unsecure method of printing private key by one centralized authority, that reminds me a lot on banking system we have today.
We have to trust that Quantic machine, Swiss company and some person who is controlling that machine in Switzerland, and we can't verify anything so it's all based on trust.
I do like to have some form of printed Bitcoin notes, but not like this when someone else prints and generates everything for me.
It's just a matter of time until someone who is corrupted infiltrates this system and leak some private information.

I performed some test trying to buy one Icynote Bitcoin note as collectibles item, but imagine my surprise when I didn't find Bitcoin as payment option  Tongue
You are selling Bitcoin paper wallets and not accepting Bitcoin for payment, but only fiat currencies Cheesy
5712  Other / Meta / Re: [NEW EPISODE - JAN 22] TheBitcoinTalkShow - 21 questions on: January 22, 2022, 08:54:26 PM
TheBitcoinTalkShow reached 100 subs this week! Thank you guys! 💯
TheBitcoinTalkShow channel is growing much faster than Bitcoin is crashing Cheesy
I watched today the last episode with you answering quiz questions, and my question to you is: How long have you been involved with Bitcoin?
I think someone should make one interview with you and you could tell us a story about that and how you started doing TheBitcoinTalkShow.

So, yes Fillipp1 is a kind of old fashioned pronunciation!
That short nickname F1 looked more like Formula One to me, and I guess that is the reason why you don't use it so often anymore Cheesy

5713  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: AirGap wallet- Self custody made simple and secure - Protect your crypto offline on: January 22, 2022, 07:57:55 PM
Both of them [wallet and vault], support Android Lollipop [5.0] and up.
Old device I have is before Android 5 Lollipop version, I think it's something like 4.4 and it can't be upgraded anymore or flashed with different operating system.

I didn't know that Airgap web version exists, but I see that it is somehow connected with ledger hardware wallet, that defeats the purpose of using Airgap wallet.
5714  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Coldcard Mk4 NFC Spec for developers on: January 22, 2022, 05:10:21 PM
So the Mk4 is now available for preorder at a lower price then the Mk3 from coldcard:
That is one very sweet price with a nice discount EARLY-BIRD $40 Off and I think that you can get 5% more discount if you pay with Bitcoin, but this reservation price offer is available only for one day I think.
I see they did some small redesign, buttons are now not all rounded, type C connector, better processor, more RAM, controversial NFC added, and I first time I see any hardware wallet with two secure elements.
Screen looks a bit bigger and more clear to to me, plastic is less blurry and probably with better quality.
This also means that support for MK3 and older versions will not last for very long, but they say that production of MK3 will not stop yet.
I am interested to see how this new version compares in real life with MK3 and other airgap wallets like Keystone.
If you need to buy Bitcoin only hardware wallet this would be a better option than ledger or trezor, but I still prefer if they revert back to open source license (NVK can you hear me? Cheesy)

5715  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Transferring bitcoin to/from an exchange on: January 22, 2022, 04:54:52 PM
Now, some time later, I want to sell my bitcoin. Can I move my bitcoin from my cold wallet to a different exchange, say BlockFi, and sell it there?
When you withdraw Bitcoin from Coinbase exchange to your own wallet (hardware or software) you will have full control over your coins, if you keep your backup seed phrase secure.
You can than move those coins anywhere you want, but there is a big BUT because some exchanges are starting to block or freeze accounts of people that get flagged by some chain analytics software algorithm.
I heard exchanges may even ask to show them more information about your personal life, what is your job and income, why you trade crypo, show transaction history, and all kinds of crap like that.
Most of the time that won't happen, but for any reason they can just say your coins are ''tainted'' even if they are not, so I suggest better use decentralized exchanges like Bisq and p2p trading.
5716  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Show off your hardware wallet on: January 22, 2022, 04:48:32 PM
It uses an adapter called the "blade", which you plug a MicroUSB cable into... it's just a bit fiddly and annoying.
I was just looking online to buy some adapters, and I think that Type C is going to be standard for some time, with USB 4.0 protocol coming soon.  Shocked
It's crazy if you compare speed and data transfer evolution from USB 1.0 to USB 4.0, but I don't think we need super high speeds for hardware wallets.
Ideally we don't want to have any cable connection between computer and hardware wallet, that is why I love airgapped devices that don't need to use internet or cables.

That's correct; I think you could register on Taobao with a US (or other) phone number, but from what I remember it requires phone number, which I'm not willing to give (opposed to a one-time email address, for example). And they wouldn't ship outside China, probably, anyway. These proxies work very well. You can search in them as well, not sure though if they show all results.
So I guess you used Taobao website for purchasing with proxy before, and it's true that you can find anything there, but I found other good alternatives when I needed to buy something few years ago.
Topic of ordering stuff online is very important, and I think renting PO box or alternative delivery address is perfect solution for that, even better if you can use alternative name or alias (not possible in all countries).
It's scary how much data and personal information we leave online all the time, especially with anything related with bitcoin.
5717  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Sent BTC were not received by other party on: January 22, 2022, 04:35:22 PM
Is there anything I can do to recover these funds?
You can show them transactions if it's confirmed on the blockchain, but I am not sure how ChangeNOW is generating addresses for all customers.
Screenshot images can be edited but you can't edit and make fake transaction if it's confirmed, but you should know the risk of using centralized instant exchanges.
It is also possible that you used some phishing website or you have some clipboard malware on your computer that generated fake receiving address, but this is juts a speculation.
Do you know what happen with Bitcoin you sent, and can you post transaction in public (or in private message) for better inspection?
5718  Economy / Goods / Re: [EU] Original Cuba cigars Cohiba Esplendidos and cigarettes on: January 21, 2022, 03:12:45 PM
Some of the bands in the pictures in OP look suspicious. Would you be able to post clearer photos with next stock inbound?
This is especially important when you see that member btcinvestcompany woke up only few days ago after years of inactivity, and I don't see anyone here confirming that he purchased this item from him.
Making new pictures with date and username would be a good idea.
5719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s energy use is just a rounding error compared to other industries on: January 21, 2022, 02:58:39 PM
For example, he is the one behind autonomous car, with full self-driving capabilities. I think his plan is that in future we should just hire the autonomous car we want. Just like an autonomous uber. This is why you shouldn't buy you: you should use his
I was not talking about Elon Musk, but that is the point for all of them who support stupid ideas like this.
They want you to use only their products and they want full control over you and what you are doing at all times, maybe that is the reason they usually don't support Bitcoin  Cheesy
If I own a car I want to have full control over it and even go off-road when I want, and if I own a currency I want to use and hold it if I want, and I don't want for it to expiry if I don't use it to purchase something.
5720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s energy use is just a rounding error compared to other industries on: January 21, 2022, 02:45:34 PM
I was recently reading a bit of the WO thread (there are always some very good discussions there), and I found this amazing post about bitcoin energy consumption
There is no precise measurement for how much human beings spend on stupid things all the time, but I am sure they would be very high on that list.
Maybe we do need building sector, transportation and health care to spend a lot of energy, but do we really need military-industrial complex spending XXX times more than Bitcoin does?
All this energy talks reminds me on one of the richest man on earth, I won't name him but you can search online, he is one of the leaders of this ''climate revolution'',
but in the same time he owns multiple jet planes he uses all the time, hundreds of cars, luxury yachts, etc.
Now he is telling us we should not own a car and we should not own, use or mine Bitcoin... I mean wtf something is really wrong with this idea Roll Eyes
