5701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Deontay Wilder Vs. Luis Ortiz II on: November 01, 2019, 04:59:27 AM
Probably another get busy fight for Wilder but this is very dangerous for him. His chin was tested by Ortiz and he almost got knock down in their first fight. And this is the reason why he is giving Ortiz a rematch to prove that he is the best (well Fury can debate that).

I think it will end up the same, Wilder will win but as boxing fans we wanted it to be as exciting or even more compare to their first fight.
5702  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to execute the 51% attack on BTC? How feasible is it in comparison to POW AL on: November 01, 2019, 04:34:02 AM
No one discusses about the 51% attack? Since google claim to have the quantum supremacy...Anyone thinks they can do it?

Maybe because the topic has been discussed several times. Search this forum and you can find five or ten topics about 51% attack and/or Quantum Supremacy.

TL;DR : Even if they can do it, we can switch the algorithm.

Here are the topics that I easily found just by searching the forum:

Is the attack "51%" legal?
How 51% attack is deterministically implemented on testnet?
Bitmain 51% Attack? Would they do such if they get the hash? [POLL]
Need an explanation over 51% attack.
Stopping 51% attacks

So obviously it has been discussed so many times before. Regarding the question though, as to how much money needed to bribe employees of BTC.com, antpool and viaBTC to perform a 51% attack? Lots and lots and I don't think that bad actors are more willing to shell out huge money to do it.
5703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo vs Kovalev WBO Light Heavyweight Championship on: November 01, 2019, 04:12:42 AM
In addition to that, even Canelo is not happy with Oscar specially pushing him with a trilogy with GGG.
It is simply because of the money they can make with the trilogy of GGG and i consider both the wins by Canelo was robbery as i consider GGG as the winner in both the fights and when it comes to the fight between Sergey Kovalev i still want to wage a bet on Sergey Kovalev to win but the only way i see him winning is by knockout and if it goes to the judges Canelo will be the winner.

Canelo Rips De La Hoya: You Can See There's No Loyalty in Him

https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-rips-de-la-hoya-you-see-theres-no-loyalty-him--143834

Lol, Canelo is really mad at Oscar,

Quote
In later interviews, Canelo would express direct anger at Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya - criticizing the head of the company for making public promises of a 2020 trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin.

In a stunning interview with Michael "Copp" Coppinger of The Athletic, Canelo took things a step further as he slammed De La Hoya.

The boxer would explain that his relationship with De La Hoya has been slowly deteriorating over the last two years.

“You can see there’s no loyalty in him,” Canelo said.

I am hesitant to believe this news, it maybe some sort of an antics to make the fight more popular, advertising would be the right word for it.

This is boxing and lot of politics are in it. Both Canelo and Oscar are Mexicans, don't know if Canelo can afford to fallout on the Golden Boy Promotion.

But if this is true then for sure it is a big blow to the Canelo's camp and another excuse if they lose on this fight. Canelo can't overwhelm Sergey as the latter is experienced enough and he is the bigger fighter.

On the contrary, I believed that someone is already whispering on Canelo and I think there are a lot of boxing managers who are willing to take him because he is the draw right now. If you have to follow Canelo Twitter he is attacking Dela Hoya ever since.

Anyways, I don't think this is just to promote his fights with Kovalev, as I have said he is the number 1 draw right now so even without this kind of media hype people are going to watch his fights.

I'm glad though that after I open up about the co main event, Garcia vs Duno, many have seen Duno as a good fighter that can really push Garcia and have a good chance of beating him.
5705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 31, 2019, 02:05:14 PM
I totally agree with OP's thinking. All have their own seasons like ICO used to be very popular, but now it's not, now is IEO's season. We need to realize that cryptocurrency still has great opportunities to develop. The more people adopt it, the more ways there are to get it. Recently, quite popular is getting cryptocurrency just by playing games and watching videos, it's easy, right? Unfortunately, fraudsters also always follow this trend, they use various methods to fool ordinary people.

But just the same, maybe some business model shift, but know it seems that IEO is also a haven for scammers. IEO has no doubt have been exposed specially in this bear market, and we should all be thankful for that.

But IEO, I have my doubts, so I'm sure this is just another 'camouflage' today. And could turn out to be just like it's predecessors, projects are built to just scam anyone, so I guess the OP is right that we really need to be very careful.
5706  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price today ! on: October 31, 2019, 01:22:18 PM
It is possible that Chinese news to adopt blockchain technology influenced the increase in bitcoin, although the plan had been planned since the page by China but news from Chinese President Xi Jinping coincided with an increase in bicoin.
but everything is related to BAKKT's performance results, and the news has a positive impact and has caused investors to be bullish in the cryptocurrency market.
Chinese market always have a big impact on the world market. This time with the positive speech about blockchain the impact is felt much on the cryptocurrency market. This is the major reason for the price pumping we experienced over the days. With this in mind more investment happened on Bakkt which further drove the price forward. Yet this hasn't initiated a perfect bull market. Hope for bigger growth over the falling weeks.

I always had a doubt that the recent pump wasn't just because of the Chinese leader showing interest in blockchain technology. He didn't even mentioned something about cryptocurrency or Bitcoin in his speech. It may have a little contribution to the pump, but there must be a major reason behind it. The massive buy out maybe caused by whales or from the momentum traders, or from the retail investors who were accumulating more Bitcoin in their wallet as a preparation after the 2020 halving.

I agree, maybe majority misinterpret it as some kind of bitcoin endorsement but it is not. Blockchain is not equal to bitcoin. So my only conclusion is that maybe manipulators take advantage of that statement from the Pres. of China and then someone from media spin it around to sell the news.

I guess we just take advantage and continue to accumulate if we have funds and wait for institutional money to come in prior or even after the schedule block halvening.
5707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will be the Bitcoin Price If..... on: October 31, 2019, 12:35:09 PM
What u Think what will be the Bitcoin Price, If the Exchangers does not existing like binance.. Polo kraken and others 😀

Bitcoin will definitely still be here, with or without exchanges in my opinion. Might not be that huge in terms of price but it will exist no doubt about that.

Will it be Zero?  Or just as much someone is willing to pay to buy btc

I doubt that it will go zero though, remember that bitcoin is a p2p system, meaning it should have value in the first place.
5708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptonization Fail ? on: October 31, 2019, 12:01:55 PM
Maybe 90% coins listed on coinmarketcap can be describe as for speculation, or simply to create more money. That's why 90% turns out to be scam in the end.

But there could be some coins out there that could really help or at last have real life usage that's why they are still in the marketplace after all. But it could be debatable as to what coin it will be. Just look at ETH now, way below it's ATH but still people thinks that it can still bounce back in the future.
5709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you explain the recent surge in Bitcoin price? on: October 31, 2019, 11:35:01 AM
CZ Binance sent an interesting Tweet block about that
CZ might have made a lot of money by investing in bitcoin and he went all in investing in bitcoin selling his house and now he is running a billion dollar company, it is a dream come true for everyone who is looking up to his profits and how he made his money and i am sure there are many who trusted bitcoin and went all in in the past.

Obviously, we can categorically call CZ a bitcoin maximalist, or at least a ardent supporter of it. I remember that he even de-listed BSV when there was so much drama about it specially when CSW claims that he is Satoshi.

Pump or not, bitcoin will continue it's surge specially there is block halvening next year. If we wanted to be CZ or be the next crypto millionaire, time to accumulate this year < 5 digit is still a cheap price of bitcoin.
5710  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa - Hidden Treasure for the world and bitcoin on: October 31, 2019, 11:00:19 AM
It is quite pitiful that the government doesn't start helping since the venture of letting africa improve is very difficult. In their eyes that is.
I don't think the government elite in African countries think it's very difficult to improve the economical situation there, but just that it will cost a lot of money.... money they rather enrich themselves with.

It has been happening for decades now that African countries have been going backwards economically despite the potential that has always been there.... people there need less government to improve, not more.

What do you expect? The continent has been exploited for a century now, and to be able to get back on track, it will take centuries as well. And the problem is that as the economic and political turmoils sinks, and so as their hope of revival.

Government officials are corrupt, rich getting richer, and the poor become poorer. That's the sad state of Africa, although many inter-cooperation from other countries to help them alleviate their problems, it might takes years and years just to rehabilitate them.
5711  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why did 95% of traders fail and lose money? on: October 31, 2019, 10:42:12 AM
That's why the notion that crypto trading is easy and the way to get rich is very wrong idea, specially for those who wanted to try it the first time. We are no longer in 2017, wherein those statistics as posted by the OP is not that evident because of the bull run that we have.

And since the bearish trend, people started to realised that making money here is difficult, many quit, while majority are still learning the tricks and tips but still losing money as well. I do hope though that those who did lose money has somewhat learn from their mistakes so that they could increase their chance of succeeding if they chose to continue their trading journey.
5712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 31, 2019, 10:11:21 AM
A big lost for Golden State Warriors last night! After their lost against Phoenix Suns today Golden State announce That Stephen Curry has a broken left hand!! They will suffer more and more, it's really a bad beginning of a season, well a good news for the other teams.

Aww, so this is the main reason why Steph Curry has one of his lowest point performance early in this season. Although it is not his shooting hand, but definitely this will had a effect on his performance. Too bad to hear this happen to him, but I guess their chances of at least making it to the playoffs are getting slimmer by the day.

Haven't read the whole story though, just hoping that he can bounce back the soonest.
5713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo vs Kovalev WBO Light Heavyweight Championship on: October 31, 2019, 06:43:48 AM
Current odds at sportsbet.io:

Garcia, Ryan - Duno, Romero
1.10               6.40

I think this is a good odds for Romero Duno as he has a good chance to make an upset on the rising Ryan Garcia here. Both are gifted boxers, although majority see Garcia as the next superstar but Duno has the tools to knock out Garcia here or a close UD.
5714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Living Off-Grid With Bitcoin? on: October 31, 2019, 05:54:03 AM
Is it possible/an advantage to live off-grid with bitcoin?

What I mean by this is living on a rural property, perhaps running a full-node, completely independent from the existing fiat financial system. We want to remove our dependency of the banks and corrupt political establishment entirely.

Very very difficult, unless you really lived in a country wherein bitcoin is readily accepted otherwise you still needed the old and traditional fiat system to live and survived.

Obviously, you would need electricity and a computer to run a node and connect to the network. Perhaps bitcoin is not well suited for rural lifestyle or off-grid?

Maybe is bitcoin will be used to transact or be the main system in the future, you have a chance to just stay in rural areas and live nicely with your bitcoin stash.

5715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Tide Lifting All Altcoins Boats on: October 30, 2019, 01:59:27 PM
The Bitcoin tide has lifted all altcoins boats today, but Bitcoin SV (BSV) price was gaining even when the sea was all red. Anyone knows why?

Just the usual pump and dump of BSV, remember that the people behind that coin has some shady behavior in the past so don't be surprised if the price is pumping so hard right now.

Before it was BCH who got that so called "fame" of being the fastest pump coins, but it seems that BSV has taken the crown. Don't you worry, after that rise, eventually it will come down again. If you wanted to join the ride, you can do it as long as you know when to exit.
5716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trading or Marketing/Promotion on: October 30, 2019, 12:28:05 PM
I will tell you to follow what you really wanted to do in this crypto sphere. If you wanted to work as a marketer/promoter then do it. Why are you asking people's opinion? If I say that do not engaged your self because you are not going to earn money?

But for me, you should stick on to something that will really make you happy here. Marketing is not that easy but if that is your goal and that is your dream so go for it, just saying.
5717  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Large number of customer account and wallets are still compromised. on: October 30, 2019, 10:49:32 AM
I'm glad that they're refunding their users but their given timeframe is a complete bummer especially for ppl who have huge amounts there. In the end, the users still have to shoulder the mistake the company did. I know it says "within" but the fact that they've given a long one means they're not confident in giving the refunds early.

Exactly, I thought that they will immediately refund their customers, but it was not the case. I was once locked my funds of .004 BTC on a certain wallet because of 2FA. But I was furious back then, imagine those account members who have thousand of dollars?

I'm curious if the phone they're talking about is for daily use like you carry them around everywhere you go. and why such important info can be found on a phone.

I would under the impression that it is daily smart phone being used the CTO. But what concerns me is that it is always online so why he saved sensitive data in there?
5718  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are You Concerned On Sudden Rise of Bitcoin? on: October 30, 2019, 10:03:57 AM
We will be concern if the sudden rise is a bear trap, but days have gone and so far it it still holding and it looks like going to be sustainable at least in $9k range. So the concern would be if the price goes to $7400 again and then goes on another side way trading patterns.

So it's a sigh of relief for now and no need to be concern at this point. Maybe we could see another break out to $10k again next month. We are almost at the end of the year now, so I do hope at least a good 5 digit this year and see how it goes prior and after the much touted block halvening.
5719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Technical Analysis, Fundamental Analysis and Manipulation Analysis on: October 30, 2019, 08:51:07 AM
The first two are the known and the used ones. What about the third one? I have seen many manipulations and since we are a 7/24 unregulated market, we are more open to manipulations. Which has the more effect on the price? Time to time, I have witnessed that some manipulative moves are occuring right before the technical analysis is pointing some directions. It seems like some people are trying to move the market according to their thougts. There are counter manipulative moves surely but we should take this into account as well.

Definitely, as crypto market is really prone to manipulation from whales who are just waiting for the right timing. Classic example is the April 2 price pump in which we enjoy till this day because it started this sort of mini bull run pushing the price even further at $13k. So in a sense it could bring positive results.

However, there are times that this manipulation will just put a dent on the price. Manipulators will simply dump it (pump-and-dump scheme) and then move on. Just recently I saw some coins pump to more than 1000%. I think people are taking this into consideration, and just waiting for any coins in the market to be the next target for a pump and then ride the waves, then exited when they got their profit.
5720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 32 ETH for staking?! on: October 30, 2019, 07:44:39 AM
For average casual Joe's like me, yes this seems to be very high.

But I guess they are targeting mid tier to high level investors here in the beginning and see how it goes. And I'm sure they will get a lot of backlash here, I mean 32 ETH really?

@MinerVGA - the point is that there are a lot of average investors/traders here believed me. If this is their plan they then are very wrong and they could get a bad impression with their staking rule here.
