5721  Other / Meta / Re: [RU local] Make visible Trust of the user in the subsection HYIPs on: February 03, 2019, 07:10:04 PM
Looks like trust ratings are not visible in most local boards or subsections. earlier on I saw this  Please Enable Trust Rating in the Croatian Marketplace and wondered why a market place would not have trust ratings enabled.
Could it be because some of these boards/subsections have just been recent additions?

With scammers lurking everywhere in the forum, the best we could do is try and warn unsuspecting users with the help of those negative ratings on every board these scammers would try to post in.
5722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This guy says crypto ruined his life but he spent it on a high risk lifestyle on: February 03, 2019, 06:53:47 PM
If at all this is true, then I guess it was due to overexcitement, having acquired a lot of money in no time. You start to feel that you are a star and start to spend very ridiculously without looking at the long term goals. Hookers will come and suck up your money and once it's done they will move on to the next one.

I have seen a number of related stories, especially with Lottery winners. One wins maybe $10M and gets too excited, takes world trips, lives a life of his dream then after a couple of years get back to where he was or even probably with lots of heavy debts.
5723  Other / Meta / Re: 250 profiles merited (by me) in 1 hour and 2 minutes – What’s got over me? on: February 03, 2019, 06:27:29 PM
I saw the re-merit today and thought you had done it by mistake  Grin
Otherwise, your inspiration towards low ranked members doesn't go unnoticed.

During the time I have been posting here through my newbie rank to member rank. I couldn't help but recognize that the following members (am not sure whether they are all merit sources) take their time patrol through a majority of boards and are not so stingy when it comes to awarding merit even to lower ranked members so long as the post is good.
- DdmrDdmr
- o_e_l_e_o
- suchmoon
- dbshck
- Foxpup

There could be others but these are the ones that got much more noticed

Please avoid using preformatted text when putting up points in such posts. It will make readers uninterested in reading your text as one has to scroll from left to right just to read a single line on top of scrolling up and down.
This would be better

-   When you see price fluctuations, don't panic and follow the market mindset that can actually be predicted. Try using an analysis of your ability one step ahead of other market participants
-   Don't rush into the market, take a little time to analyze market rumors before making a trade transaction. This is to find out the clarity of the direction of the market waiting for more confidence and calm.
-   Don't force yourself to participate in transactions, if you are unsure about the direction of market movements. It's better to wait or move to transact from the wrong position and psychology is approved.
-   Try to build a winning psychology, Create a daily target, Close the position if targeted. This is to build a winning psychology, not a loser.
-   Always in situations as calm as possible when entering the market. Humans are blessed with 3 virtues given by the highest creator, namely, the mind to think, the heart to pray, and time. For this reason, use these three gifts from God as best you can.
-   Accept sincerely when you accept defeat and don't get discouraged

That said, the points you put across are really great, I would love to add the more important thing that usually causes a lot of unnecessary stress which can lead to trading with emotions.

It's trying to trade with money that you cannot afford to lose. This is usually very dangerous and can always keep the trader very anxious and depressed.
Always trade with what you can afford to lose. In the event things do not turn out as expected, you won't have to make silly and panicky decisions so as to try and recover what you have lost in the shortest time.
5725  Other / Meta / Re: How does this forum differ from a dictatorial regime on: February 03, 2019, 02:22:42 PM
The title says it all, a few users decide the life of any account they don't like. I wonder how is this dofferent from communism or other dictatorial regimes. That is why bitcoin isn't working and won't unless these abusers will have nothing to do with it.

How are your "abusers" related to how bitcoin works?
This is just a community of different people from all walks of life. Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency. So am still failing to understand how someone's character here is going to affect how bitcoin works.

If the forum real sucks according to your standards, there is always an option to just leave. No one is forced to be here and leak the forum's *ss like "dictators "would do.
5726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Worried about quality posting, this may help on: February 03, 2019, 12:57:57 PM
I appreciate you effort but I think you are also fishing for merit yourself and in your guidelines you said they should not focus of merit now that's a case of not practicing what you preach.
How do you tell if s/he is fishing for merits?  Grin
He just put out a guideline to help out the new joiners. Bashing him/her after making such an effort is not necessary IMO.
5727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Address Not Valid on: February 03, 2019, 12:40:54 PM
As far as I know, wallet addresses generated by wasabi are Bech32. Bech32 is a segwit address format specified by BIP 0173. You can confirm this if the address you are sending to starts with bc1...
So the most likely scenario is that your the ledger live program does not support sending bitcoins to segwit wallets yet.
More info here Bech32 adoption

The solution, try wallets that can generate green addresses and then after, send to wasabi.

5728  Other / Off-topic / Re: Protecting your email is of great importance on: February 03, 2019, 12:18:41 PM
<...>
Certain attackers use trick you to register for an account in their website. Of course, you will be using your email and password. Later on, they use those login details to try and gain access to your email and other important accounts like Google drive, since they now have ur email username. If you are the type of person who uses the same password for every website you get registered to, then you will be compromised and your email could get compromised too if the password is the same.

So it's always important to
- Use different passwords for different websites (if it's had to remember them, you can use a good password manager.
- Always use 2FA for all your important website logins and emails (most preferably use authy)
5729  Economy / Services / Re: Stake.com Signature Campaign - Up to 0.035 BTC a week on: February 03, 2019, 02:30:12 AM
You make 5 posts and you get 0.0001 BTC
You make another 5 posts and you get another 0.0001 BTC

This repeats for every 5 posts throughout the week. I'm not sure why anyone is confused.
Because rates are too low for Sr member. And Sr Members will get paid for 200 posts per week, right?
0.0001 BTC= 5 posts
200 posts/ reward per 5 post = 40
40 post*0.0001BTC = 0.004 BTC per month

I'm right? Or it is for per week?
The 200 posts I think is a maximum per week... Still think it's too low. What kind of poster would you be to make 200 posts a week? 😂
5730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MERIT RANK UP FOR NEWBIES support on: February 02, 2019, 01:55:53 AM
I have been through your post history trying to see what I can really try to merit but I have failed to get anything substantial. It's all filled with bounty reports exactly the opposite of what you were trying to say in the OP.
It's like a thief preaching to other people not to steal  Grin
5731  Other / Meta / Re: The reason behind "permanent" banning? on: February 02, 2019, 01:23:27 AM
Recently, I read the following thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5104259.0

...and felt bad for its OP. It looks a bit harsh and cruel to permanently ban an account for spamming, plagiarism, or whatever the (similar) reason is.

It feels a little harsh but rules are rules, my friend. Every community/society has a set of rules where the acts of against them can't be broken. Once you try to bend the rules because of one user. Then you will start raising questions and destroying the communities moral code.i
In Bitcointalk plagiarism and other acts of spamming are considered bloody evil and every user must know that it can get you banished for life.
5732  Other / Meta / Re: Account Password And Email Changed on: February 02, 2019, 01:06:02 AM
So you are all set, the account is now back under your control?
The account is not yet completely back under his control. He just managed to lock out the hacker from using it by rendering the account blocked for now.

It's confusing to send request to change account.

I have all proves.

This Particular user @Jerometash recovered his account recently, he wrote a simplified procedure on how he did it. Try to follow it if you can.
Hacked accounts recovery team is doing great, Don't just give up yet!

5734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM's are popping up on: February 01, 2019, 04:27:11 PM
Though it's good news towards bringing the much-needed adoption of bitcoin closer, I really don't get it why bitcoin ATMs are really necessary yet more and more exchanges are now beginning to implement direct Credit Card deposits the latest to announce this new development being Binance.

Where I come from, financial solutions provided by mobile carriers like Mobile Money are even more popular than the mainstream financial institutions and their ATMs... and this even gets juicier with cryptocurrency in play. All one has to do is get his mobile and send money to his exchange account directly or withdraw crypto from his exchange account to fiat in his mobile money account without having to go to the bank
5735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralisation is harder than you think on: February 01, 2019, 03:44:47 PM
I think those 2 articles are missing out something in them.
Bitcoin and most of these cryptocurrencies haven't really been adopted that much by people yet. I must admit that the rate of adoption has been quite slow but I believe if very many people where to adopted and started using cryptos in their day to day lives. We would then clearly see a perfect picture of decentralization.

What we are seeing right now is a small group of people out of the whole world population who are aware of cryptos and are using them which makes it difficult to see the effect of decentralization.
5736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misuse of the quote button on: January 30, 2019, 11:05:09 PM
  <...>
I particularly got so fond of this way of quoting long posts, well thanks to DmrDmr  Grin

Back to the point, quoting long posts is usually done by people who care less about the forum so long as they have filled up their weekly quoting quota for signatures...
As someone said before me, other's are just after bumping the thread.

What surprises me is you even see full member and senior member chaps doing such things. After all that time in the forum, it clearly shows you that such people aren't really what the bitcoin community was intended to be.

How so? Now all will be ban for reports? I think that if everything is as the author wrote it is at least not fair either ban was pure coincidence.
He was obviously banned for ban evasion.
He already admitted that his alt account got banned for plagiarism.
This is my old account! He was banned for plagiarism when I didn't know the rules.
My current account - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1095337

Any attempt to create another account after the ban is also against forum rules and will get you banned as soon as you are spotted

25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed.

If am not missing anything, you followed all the steps correctly and you should be good to go. However, it's normal to be paranoid when it comes to dealings on the web.
You can check out other ways of verifying Bitcoin core so as to have some peace in your mind in this post.

5740  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much bitcoin has been made by ... ? on: January 29, 2019, 10:06:07 PM
They won't earn anything at all, once they got caught shilling a website/ICO they are part of they will be tagged by a DT member and most campaigns removes their members without pay. Some campaigns (mostly ICO campaigns) requires shilling or bumping the thread which are also against the rules so it is best to stay away from this kinds of campaigns.
OP was talking about members who are carrying signatures of Casinos or Gambling sites... He was wondering if there are other people too just like him who take their advice with a little bit of caution when they posted a reply or topic in the forum
