5723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fastest Way to Make a Bitcoin? on: March 04, 2014, 02:04:14 AM
The fastest sure fire way is to BUY one from an exchange.  Coinbase maybe?

This one looks great:
https://bitsimple.com/

For me the next best way is poker.  I've made dozens of bitcoins this way:
http://sealswithclubs.eu

But you have to be either good at poker, or just lucky like me.
5724  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MtGox source code leaked ... on: March 03, 2014, 10:45:56 PM
Um this goes far beyond "not perfect".  It essentially breaks every rule in software design, resulting in a fragile, unmaintainable mess.

Projects written by a single person don't need to be developed as academics say. If u were an owner of an exchange and didn't trust to any other coder u would go the same way.

5725  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: March 03, 2014, 06:04:07 PM
I'd ban them at least temporarily if I were in charge.  But I am a butt.   Grin

It's just not cool to mess with peoples money.  Especially at a time when BTC is under such stress...

What Sealsdeals did was break the trust of their users, plan and simple.  And then they had the gall to post a Gox style message "Dont worry...  we are gone, but your coins are all safe".

Micon was spot on.  Perhaps SWC will forgive this, but I think it was a ridiculously terrible thing to do.

On another note:
5726  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox Official Statement 03-03-2014 on: March 03, 2014, 01:15:58 PM
Wow.  They are still claiming "malleability" as a legitimate reason for losing almost 1 million bitcoins.

LOL.
5727  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: March 03, 2014, 01:04:49 PM
People confuse Bitstamp with BTC-e.

Because Slovania = Russia = Latvia = Czech Republic = Russia in many people minds.
5728  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the thread where traders admit to making a net loss. on: March 03, 2014, 05:02:28 AM
My little 20 coin protoshares stake went down 60% overnight just recently...  no idea what my bitshares will be worth.
5729  Other / Off-topic / Re: Since my last post, we were almost killed due to some NIGGER! on: March 03, 2014, 05:00:12 AM
Yeah why would I say that? Because I'm not a racist? Oh wait, that doesn't fit your logic Smiley

Of course you can call people nigger without being at least overtly racist.

But those who do are insensitive, ignorant and extremely foolish in my humble opinion.  And many of them are a wee bit racist as well.

But this is a great thread...

Just what the bitcoin community needs right now. Roll Eyes

that's my point, "wee bit" racist is still racist. It may not be "hang a nigger from a tree" or  firebomb the black church racist but its still racist.

And to see PG speaking like this is absurd and he needs to delete his OP and close and lock this thread so it can die already.

This thread is exactly NOT what this community needs. We don't need newcomers finding us and seeing us allow this type of bigot shit. Not to mention, the press are on the forum 24/7 and surely its not the way I as a member of this community want to come across to the outside eyes.

I don't know if you know this...  but you just reiterated all of my points.  Wink  We are in agreement.

Well it seems anonymint has committed another temporary bitcointalk suicide.  Promising to "really sign off and see us on the other side" of presumably his magnum opus coin development.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=455141.msg5475768#msg5475768

I was briefly interested in what he had to say, but he is an unbalanced man, and quite an asshole to boot.

He likes to call people out for ad-hominem out of one side of his mouth, and then call people "low-IQ" "Betamales" out of the other.

He's butthurt for being ripped off selling BTC on paypal, and I believe it is in part because he was stolen from that he imagines this great scenario of clawback and the lives of all BTC holders being ruined by giant conspiracies within world governments.

He's a bright fellow, but not the genius he likes to portray.  He is hateful, exceedingly arrogant, and paranoid to an extent that must certainly interfere with a normal life.  I feel concern for his mental health.  But more I am concerned because (somewhat) intelligent aggressive unbalanced people like him with delusions of grandeur can sometimes be dangerous.

All that said, I predict his internet suicide, like all the others I've seen so far from him will last a few days, maybe a little more.

He always comes back pretty quicly after tearing up all the papers and storming off with all his toys.

Lol.

Wow...  not a very advanced troll, but a very effective one.

Nasty.  Sad to see it here.

NO.

For so many reasons, NO.  I am sorry to those who lost their money.
5735  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: March 01, 2014, 06:49:31 PM
Think.  Think people.

So funny how you are.  Telling people to 'think'.

These forums are full of a lot of smart people, in their own estimation.

Hmmm, how to do it, hmm..  How to get control of a Magic player.  Hmm.

I have no doubt there is conspiracy and fraud.  I only have doubt that the US Gvmnt  is at the center of it... not Mark Karpeles.
5736  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: March 01, 2014, 05:48:31 PM
Textbook confirmation bias happening in the thread.

Does no one ever stop to think that no matter how powerful the FBI (who is in charge of DOMESTIC issues by the way, but that is another thing) is they would never be able to take bitcoins away from Mt Gox without the private keys.

How would the FBI or any other government agency get the private keys to Gox's coins?

Think.  Think people.
5737  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: March 01, 2014, 07:34:27 AM
Hmm - well actually I think the thing that must be on Mark's mind the most at the moment is:

Almost every article I read about Bitcoin has to include some comments about the shady dark side of Bitcoin.
Meanwhile Mark seems to have lost hundreds of millions of "dollars" of Bitcoin people's money.
What might some of these "shady dark" people be considering doing about it?

There is no doubt, though the majority of us in the bitcoin community are law abiding non muderers, there are going to be some types who lurk around the darknet who may be, shall we say, sociopathic to some extent or another.

Could there be any truth to the allegations that DPR hired assassins? It seems possible.  And you have to imagine there are some folks who had fortunes on gox who may indeed have been using BTC to launder money.  Some of them the new digital drug lords...  some who are more old style bad guys just giving the new currency a try.

I would be worried as hell if I were Karpeles.

His life is most certainly in danger.
5738  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dark Days ahead for HODLers on: February 28, 2014, 08:17:04 PM
MTGOX was a cancer holding back bitcoin.

Now just like silkroad being shut down...the same will repeat.

TO DA MOON! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

The foundation is the cancer

Mtgox was just the flu

How so?

An important question.  Without any substantive argument the accusation is worthless.

I don't know a lot about the foundation, but I did notice they (most likely) shuffled Karpeles and Gox out the back door summarily.  That is a plus IMHO.
5739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dark Days ahead for HODLers on: February 28, 2014, 07:09:10 PM

As a sidenote, when the fuck are the forums going to add "Bitcoin" and "bitcoin" to their spelling dictionary?

It has nothing to do with the forum, instead it is your browser.  Therefor also your responsibility to add it to your own dictionary.  Right clicking usually helps here.
5740  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: February 28, 2014, 06:47:19 PM
sorry for the noob question. could some one explain what kind of game the following one is
( NL Hold'em Micro )
1BB 2/2  > 1.99/2 > 2-2

does any name exists for this? this looks like tossing a coin imho. any URL with an explanation?

thanks

It is as you think... a game of flipping for blinds.  At least until you start to accumulate a stack... then obviously the dynamics can change a little.

I assume the software doesn't like the idea of the SB = BB so they overcome this by making the SB -.01.

The game is not really my cup of tea as I get enough of this feeling when I play most of the tournaments I play. Tongue  However this game will always be instructuve for playing a little push-fold style in a cash setting.
