Transfer rumours:
Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani has held talks with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about a one-year contract extension - but the 34-year-old is moving closer to leaving Old Trafford. One great football career seems to be coming to an end.
Well he seems to have found his feet towards the end of the premiere league and also scored some important goals, I don't think OLe would deny him the chance to extend the contract his still an influential player for United!

Inter Milan remain in the hunt to sign Manchester City's Argentina striker Sergio Aguero but Barcelona are still favourites to sign the 32-year-old. It seems to me that Manchester City got rid of him too easily.
Are you confirming that Aguero is gone?

Manchester United owners the Glazers have set an asking price of £4bn to sell the club, amid fan protests outside Old Trafford on Saturday. Who are the rich people who can pay this much money for one club without great results in recent years?
With a bit of recapitalization, Manchester United can be changed, besides its not a bad team currently second, I think the amount they asking for is okay!

Paris St-Germain sporting director Leonardo says the French club will not rush into a new contract with star Brazil forward Neymar.
He was bought for quite a hefty amount and I don't see PSG selling him at a discount they need to make money too, and from the look of things I don't see him going anywhere
5722  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW IMPORTANT IS STOP LOSS on: April 25, 2021, 11:36:48 AM
Got in a discussion with a friend that recently started learning Technical Analysis and then he said he trades without using stop Loss.
Well for me I think failing to use a stop loss is failing to manage your risk, its all part of risk management!

FYI trading without a stop loss doesn't always mean losing trade, sometimes you get to see losing trades turn into winners because of the trading style or avoid placing a stop loss in the wrong place.

Quote
I told him no good trader trades without stop Loss.
I know some that actually don't because they believe in their analysis and don't mind blowing an account as they can afford to lose, and also believe in going big or go home.

Quote
I tried to explain to him about the volatility and how trades can go against you especially as a new newbie and you can lose heavily. He seems adamant and I decided to leave him maybe he will learn from his own mistake if it happens. It seems there are also many traders that trade without stop Loss and I wonder how they do it conveniently.

Please share your views on how important stop Loss is and how convenient it can be to trade without stop Loss.
Maybe his a profitable trader, have you asked him how things are going for him in the life of trading without using a SL.

Actually noticed this too, thought this was going to be a temporary thing but seems to hold up well fees are now as low as 55 gwei which hasn't happened in a long time.

Maybe the berlin upgrade is in full throttle and miners have got the hang of it, just hope it will be possible to send tokens for as low as $5.

5726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: April 24, 2021, 05:57:07 PM

Well, today the BTC price is almost $50K. I was just wondering, how are things now.
Are you still playing with Bitcoin, or have you switched to another coin due to a rise?

Thanks,
Karl from Bitcasino
Honestly I really don't feel the price because most casinos I use peg account balances in USD,so when I choose to deposit $50 I get ~$49 or so which doesn't make a difference at the time of a surge or crash as price always remains what it was when you deposit.

@FortuneJack
Are there any updates about the Jackmate competition? The matchday results haven't been updated since the second leg matches of the 1/16 finals. Both rounds of the 1/8 finals haven't been logged yet.
actually missed some entries because i thought this was down as updates didnt happen, though it would be nice to see the updated log Grin

I won my first matchday prize in the round of 16 and looking forward to putting it to good use in a future bet. Grin
Nice, congrats mate i hope you are in the top 10!

So when will you lower the minimum withdrawal  Sad even with $ 199 can't make a withdrawal, fortunejack implemented the old withdrawal system when the BTC price was under $10,000
Now the price of Bitcoin has reached x6  $50,000-60.000 . last I saw the admin said he would update it but nothing has changed until now.
Seems like the lowered the minimal withdrawal when using usd, but maintained the old minimum withdrawal of 0.004 BTC, which honestly needs adjusting to match market price.

loving the new interface by the way

FOMO is one of the big enemy that needs to be conquered if you want to succeed in trading and investing. alot of people usually neglect investing at the early stage but only wake up to join the train when its halfway or near the destination. the oppression from friends and mates is also one of the things that make people fomo. thats why its always important to keep your emotions under control. dont be oppressed by anyones profit, you will make your own if you do the right thing. i read comments from lots of traders that are lamenting of their loss because of fomoing to buy the top. one important thing to always remember is that there are alot of opportunity, all you have to do is to find them early and buy into them.
Herd mentality at its best!

I would like to think there is positive FOMO and negative FOMO, imagine investing in bitcoin more than 10 years ago because you heard about it from someone and you joined because they joined the cryptography journey first...and you followed them by now you would be praising them! Then there is negative FOMO which I believe leads you into a ditch with nothing to benefit from.
5729  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-04-23]South Korea’s Top Financial Regulator Suggests All Crypto Exchanges on: April 23, 2021, 11:07:16 PM

South Korea’s Top Financial Regulator Suggests All Crypto Exchanges Could Be Shut Down

The head of South Korea’s financial regulatory agency has created controversy by saying all the country’s cryptocurrency exchanges could be shut down in September.

During a meeting of the National Assembly’s policy committee on April 22, Eun Sung-soo, chair of the Financial Services Commission (FSC), said the agency has yet to receive any any Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) applications required under a recently amended law going into effect later this year.

“There are an estimated 200 cryptocurrency exchanges in the country,” he added. “But if the current situation continues then all of them could be shut down.”

Eun was referring to South Korea’s anti-money laundering (AML) law, the Financial Transactions Reporting Act (FTRA), which was amended last year to apply to crypto exchanges. The legislation requires VASPs to register with financial authorities.

The FSC began accepting applications for registration on March 25, but no exchanges have applied yet. Exchanges have until Sept. 24 to have their registration approved by the FSC. The FSC will only approve exchanges that can sufficiently demonstrate the robustness of their AML systems.

On April 19, the government’s policy office issued a statement that authorities will implement a “special enforcement period” from April to September to shut down any “illegitimate crypto businesses” and ensure that exchanges are abiding by the FTRA.

The most important qualification for VASP registration is an official partnership with a local commercial bank. Out of the some 200 exchanges to which Eun alluded, only the country’s four largest exchanges, known as the “Big 4,” have established such partnerships thus far. Many industry insiders already think the Big 4 will end up being the only exchanges to survive the regulatory tidal wave, but Eun’s comments have stirred up new worries.

Eun’s remarks come at a time when interest in crypto among Koreans is booming. The Big 4 registered 2.49 million new users during the first quarter of 2021, 64% of them in their 20s and 30s. Traders in their 30s devoted over $398 million on crypto trading, outspending every other demographic. Shutting down the Big 4 would deal a severe blow to these young investors.

When asked about normalizing crypto trading, Eun’s response was, “The worry is that officializing the cryptocurrency industry and bringing it in under regulatory approval will only encourage speculation.”

Regarding legal protections for crypto traders against scams, Eun said that “it’s difficult for the state to protect crypto traders,” claiming that crypto trading is inherently more speculative than stock trading. He compared crypto transactions to fine art deals, explaining the state doesn’t take responsibility for consumers being scammed by art counterfeiters. “It’s the personal responsibility of the buyer to protect himself from [crypto] scams,” he said.

This isn’t the first time South Korea’s traders have faced government-induced agita. In January 2018, the country’s justice minister announced during a press conference his ministry was “preparing legislation that effectively prohibits cryptocurrency trading” and that the ministry’s goal was to “shut down all exchanges.” Park went on to equate crypto trading with “gambling.”

The global price of bitcoin (BTC, -2.12%) plummeted 8% on the day of Park’s comments. Due to the so-called kimchi premium, the local price plunged as much as 15%. South Koreans refer to this day as the “Park Sang-ki disaster.”

On the day of Eun’s comments, the kimchi premium stood at around 13% but fell to as low as 2% the next day. This drop was coupled with a steep decline in bitcoin’s global price.

Currently watching the match between Arsenal and Everton and it looked like it was going to be a goalless match, but Richalison got a goal which looked almost impossible...rather embarrassing!

I guess with Arsenals front line missing the services of the likes of lacazatte or aubameyang they might not be much of a treat.

Update of my account.

Finally got the pops-up KYC for my account
We had some people saying these pop ups were because of using a vpn, did you use a vpn?

seems to effect this you at least need to login a few times or day and then the KYC pops up will showing up to your account. Can't really get this out so need to fill my early information, don't know for the people who already put their information did you need to take a picture as well on step 2? or after you finish step 1 with information KYC don't need to do step 2. Grin
From what I have read from others, level 1 KYC should suffice to stop those pop ups and going forward KYC is inevitable!!

For Mass adoption to happen some form of regulation needs to happen especially in the lines of AML/KYC.

I asked directly in Live Support whether the level in KYC will affect the limit for withdrawing answers from the agent is No.
If we don't do a suspicious activity, I think level 1 KYC is not a problem because level 1 doesn't ask for any documents.

snip

Now we are sorting out with the company that created our smart contract. This is entirely her fault.
Now we have two ways of solving that problem. The company can repair the entire contract closing the hole in the security,
when this happens, will this not be like creating another coin... a forked  Digital Gold coin?

or the smart contract will be issued by another company. These are technical issues atm.
if this happens to be the case, it would be nice to have Digital Gold on the Binance Smart Chain (BSc) has this will allow more market activity

thanks to low gas fees as compared to moving tokens on the ethereum blockchain

We remind you again. All our clients' funds are safe. Moreover, right now you can see the advantage of owning the GOLD token, which is 100% backed by physical gold. You can hack a smart contract, but you can’t steal physical gold from the vault.

By the way, we have good news. Gold is finally started to rise.

Usually if it's a connection issue, it's about your internet connection. But I agree to the guy above that you should click that first and know what's the real problem.
There's nothing going to happen if you're going to click that "here" button and know what are the possible the cause of it.

After clicking, I came across this page:

No solution has been proposed for this problem.
So you are from a country where cryptocurrencies are banned so the simple solution is to connect VPN before connecting to the Metamask can solve your issue but I though Metamask is allowed everywhere but it seems they made recent changes in their terms.
You mean to say a simple wallet such as Metamask has banned some countries..this is news to me,I guess I need to find time to read their TOS , but how does this work when no KYC is attached to the wallet?

5735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do ordinary people feel afraid of Bitcoin? on: April 23, 2021, 04:01:54 PM
1. Fear of the unknown
2. Some people out there see it as a pyramid scheme to stay clear of
3. Some people don't want to associate themselves with a medium that was/is linked to drugs
4. Its unregulated, which might make the risk high
5. Others think bitcoin isn't real
5736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 23, 2021, 12:07:13 PM
The odds payout for FC Koln to win the match in full time against Augsburg is @2.50, even though Augsburg will be playing this match at their home stadium but the bookmakers are still setting the odds payout in favor of FC Koln, I guess maybe this match might ends up with a draw at the final whistle today.
Those odds for FC koln are a trap!
Well I know the managed to pull off an upset winning Leipzig  but looking at the 5 most recent away matches, koln didn't win or draw any while Augsburg has a better home record over the visitor's by winning 2 from the 5, my prediction will be Augsburg to win or under 1.5.

5737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you limit your gambling time? on: April 23, 2021, 09:38:31 AM

Do you actually...
- Have a weekly budget to play and do not ever go over it?
- Not ever get in debt for gambling?
- Have an allocated time for gambling and never exceed it?
- Gamble only socially with friends of relatives?
- Have someone helping you control your gambling?
-certain games I play require a minimum amount to have ,I guess this counts as a budget.
-true debt and gambling should never mix
-allocating how much you play isn't the smartest thing, stick to winners know when to stop
- I gamble against the house not friends, almost sounds like hustling friends and family
-am not a gambling addict to have some to help with my gambling

Leicester City vs West Bromwich Albion (WBA)

I will put in a tie this game, 0-0 or 1-1.
Leicester City 2 vs 3 West Bromwich Albion (WBA) What are your predictions?
We aren't lucky at this moment. poor you  Grin and as to me either. Leicester did on 36 minutes only, they on fire after the referee sounding the whistle, Glad to see Vardy opening the ceremony (goal), he's come back,
Vardy is one of the few front men that deliver, quite reliable

I hope he will keep the performance to stand Leicester in the champion league zone or maybe can defeat MU on 2nd position? nothing impossible on football. let's see the performance teams on the next vs crystal place.

Leicester catching up with Manchester United, I don't think so!

How does Manchester United catching up with Manchester city sound like...lets call it dejavu something they did to Liverpool and  with Champions league duty, they certainly have more work to do.

Nothing new to see here  Tongue

Okay here is what I think happened, first after seeing this news article https://finance.yahoo.com/news/sunday-bitcoin-flash-crash-sees-095427341.html there is something interesting that caught my eye

Quote
According to Bybt, the last twenty four hours saw a new record in liquidations. With over one million positions being wiped off the books. Totalling a mammoth $10 billion in positions that were liquidated.
Just from this you can tell its all instititional money at play because to wipe out $10 billion dollars this is simply saying Mega Whales are flexing their musle and playing with the market and because of how markets work we can't be bearish forever.
