5741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I kept USDT on: February 15, 2020, 04:05:26 PM
This strategy is rare but quite useful, The weakness of this strategy is the uncertainty of usdt.
You will not be able to predict when your tether will be frozen, use another stable coin that is more reliable.

I've been using tether for some time and even in that period that people are afraid and investigating tether
Obviously we can't say for sure that Tether will exists forever or if people have reasons to doubt about the coin, but a simple way to use tether is for short periods of time, this is what I do and if you can read some news about criptos at least once a week you can keep safe
For long periods of time I don't think it's a good idea to hold tether
5742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your recommended ways of gambling. on: February 15, 2020, 03:57:16 PM
Everyone is losing some money here  Cheesy
Only you have to know about how far can you gamble? How much money can you spend in gamble without harm any another area of your life?
It's up to you to answer these questions

I consider gambling as a hobby, it's very exciting the probability of win, but let's be honests, the math doesn't lie, and the house are just a regular business.
You can just gamble low values, and be careful, don't let emotions guide you in gambling
5743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I kept USDT on: February 15, 2020, 01:47:13 PM
Even for holders, and I included myself, it's interesting and challenging trying to increase you value in BTC
When I have time to be well informed about cryptos, I do some trades with USDT - BTC, trying to buy a dip and them buying BTC again, there's nothing wrong
Some prefer to hold forever, and I'm in the mid term, last year I do 1 or 2 trades only due to my lack of time
5744  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC restoring faith in bull run. on: February 15, 2020, 01:42:40 PM
I was tired of 2018 and 2019 bearish  Grin
Finally we are seeing great results in terms if price, because even in a bearish year, BTC keep strong with the fundamentals and developing
But it's good to see all in green again and people becoming more confident to buy, believing this price is still cheap and with a plenty room to improve and rise
Let's see what great stuff we'll se this year
5745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoins are good to mine at the moment on: February 15, 2020, 01:36:20 PM
With these cards I would do ETH again and again  Grin
Just consider what adaseb told you about the dag size, but I think within a few hours you can install everything and run

If you don't want to do some work, put nicehash and let mine and receive in BTC, without any problem

5747  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Bitcoin - Perguntas e Respostas. on: February 14, 2020, 11:29:37 PM

5748  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Back here after a long time, looking to start again on: February 14, 2020, 11:17:47 PM
It looks like some people are starting their rigs again  Grin

I'm out, since my electricity rates are something about 0.20cents USD, so, no way to earn a decent amount mining
How much are you paying for electricity?

People are mining Grin besides ETH, but with this recent spike in price, and the PoW of ETH almost ending, we'll a rush to mine ETH very soon

I'd have to pay ~$10 a month for one rx 580 in electricity. GPU depreciation on top of it. Makes it not really worth to mine. Looking to come back to a coin which could make it worthwhile.

At this moment, a RX 580 can gain 0,64 USD per day with 130w, if you'll pay 10 USD per month per card I don't know...
But you can sell your RXs and buy 5700XT, at this moment this card can do 1.14 USD per day at practically the same price per month of electricity

But you have to decide, because ETH is rising in value, maybe in a month ETH reach 400USD and you can have some mined...
Oh I love mining and the decisions we have to make  Grin Grin Grin

5750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: After losing did you feel you must return the soonest to win back your losses? on: February 14, 2020, 07:34:43 PM
I think that thought is the most destructive when it comes to gambling.
The fact of trying to recover what you lost, as quickly as possible, leads anyone to lose even more and generate more feelings of frustration and loss.
The ideal, and what I do is to make a plan about how much I can bet, and if I reach that limit I should stop.
That would be the main rule to be followed to avoid more losses.
5751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH could reach $440 if bullish on: February 14, 2020, 07:30:28 PM
I totally believe that ETH could reach the 440 USD levels, and even more. Why?
ETH is the second coin, top 1 altcoin, and always follow BTC
This year BTC will probably reach some interesting and high levels os value, so ETH will follow
ETH is being developed well, and it's always on the news and now it seens that they will finally change the PoW, so could be a good change to ETH

5752  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tony Hawk foundation accepting Bitcoin! on: February 14, 2020, 07:23:11 PM
I've always liked skateboarding, but I haven't followed news even from Tony Hawk for some time.
I don't think it makes much difference for BTC in general, but I'm enjoying the fact that BTC is being used for a lot of fundraising and charity projects. I think the best news is that.
Here in my country we also have several assistance projects that accept BTC as a form of payment, in order to reach the largest possible audience.

5754  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: CAMPANHAS DE ASSINATURAS ATUALIZADAS on: February 14, 2020, 05:46:52 PM

5755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon vii / RTX 2080 Super.? on: February 13, 2020, 08:43:06 PM
New generation? For Nvidia forget it.
My estimate is they bring the Titan first. Price 3k and up.
If we are lucky the 3080ti might come in september for Huh 1400 EUR Huh i would say.
The 3080 for around 900 i think. So nothing to mine with. Much too long roi.
The 3070 could be the new mining card.... around christmas.

For AMD? No idea if they are good. I always had problems taking AMD cards to the max.
I remember with all the 480s, sorting by memory type, reselling to get good ram.... what a mess.
Glad i got rid of em. AMD has to bring out something really good  if i ever buy 1 again.

I agree with you that Nvidias are way easier to handle, you can basically install the drivers, MSI afterburner and only find the better config, probably TDP, Core and Memory clocks, period.
About AMD, they are beasts in Ethash, and if people want to mine ETH and another coins Ethash, they need to face AMD and the tweaks (change bios, find a decent brand of memory, change clocks, timings etc)

For a newcomer, Nvidias are the way, but a enthusiast could handle AMD easily

About the new generation of Nvidias, no one know...they could bring something exceptional, but only time will tell...

Wink

Valeu a dica, tg!

5757  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin won't surge past 11k, your thoughts... on: February 13, 2020, 06:59:58 PM
As I always say, we can always speculate about BTC, as much as we can (and it's funny), but even analysts make mistakes, and they make a lot of mistakes.
I believe that BTC will surpass 11,000 dollars, even 12,000. After all we are almost reaching a very big and important event for BTC, which happens only a few times, so we have plenty of reasons to believe that we will reach a higher level this year.
I will be worried if we cannot easily overcome this barrier with such event
5758  Economy / Speculation / Re: One satoshi for $1 dollar will occur someday on: February 13, 2020, 06:35:31 PM
I'm sorry, even I, a very opmistic person about BTC and the blockchain in general, can't believe in such price
There's a lot os scenarios of probability, but to achieve this price per satoshi, a BTC have to hit 100 millions dollars, yes a single coin of BTC
Can you explain how can we have this money on criptos?
5759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining with your hard drive...Is it worth it? on: February 13, 2020, 05:43:40 PM
Was it ever worth it?

I may be biased but I never took it seriously. Doesn't it wear out the drive?
Hard drives and SSDs have a limited lifetime that is shortened by heavy use.

Yes it was worth. At the start of BHD, i mine it solo and get 200 BHD in 2 month with 35TB. Sold 1 BHD for 0.4 ETH. So yes this was worth  Cheesy

But at moment it is really hard. If you are interested, please check the best PoC mining community with the biggest non chinese BURST Pool (and 8 other PoC Coins) and the only PoC Exchange

My Burst Miner running for 3 Years now. No problems with the drives  Wink

Are you mining only Burst?
I know that Burst have a calculator on their website that at least helps to make a estimative, but for another HD mining coins it's very hard to calculate

Do you have any calculator or how can we calculate the mining on BitcoinHD (BHD) for example?
5760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon vii / RTX 2080 Super.? on: February 13, 2020, 05:04:36 PM
I'll not make the decision to you, but I'll just help with some thoughts

Radeon VII is not easy to find the "sweet spot" for mining and you have to tweak a lot to find it, another thing to consider is the RMA, we have a lot of cases of RMA of people using VII to mine

Your best friend here is https://whattomine.com/coins
In this website you'll put your GPU, your electricity costs and it'll return with the profits you can make at the moment and a list os coins that you can mine with the GPU

What I recommend is: make a list with the GPUs and prices you have in your country, then go to the Whattomine website and see how much can you make daily with each card, and then put that on a table and see which card will return their own costs with fewer time

Keep reading our mining section because there are excelent reviews and tips for mining

and remember, mining have difficult, if you make 1 dollar today it's not guaranteed that you'll gain the same amount tomorrow
