5741  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling just for fun? on: September 13, 2019, 09:22:43 PM
There are some people gamble and lose. if you ask them why do you gamble? They will answer you "just for fun"
They know they are loser in long term and no strategy works, but continue to gamble for fun.
How can enjoy something that you know you will lose? Is losing money really enjoyable? Isn't there any other entertainment you can enjoy?
I think these people are still hopeful of winning back previous losses or they are addicted. Gambling cannot be just for fun. There are many free games too.
No one gambles absolutely for fun, at least there must be an idea of winning or making money through it at the back of your mind, which increases tension and I see no fun in that.
When the term gamble for fun is used, I think what is meant is one should not put ones entire hope in gambling, but should rather take it as a fun activity, where you test your prediction skills Grin, that way it'll reduce the negative effects losses would have on you.
5742  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 13, 2019, 08:26:27 PM
The problem these days has to do with clubs/fans wanting instantaneous result. Klopp's Liverpool didn't get where they are over a fortnight, it took time and should Klopp leave today, I doubt Liverpool would have much to worry about over the next three seasons. Man Utd needs to get a coach in whose ability and football philosophy they believe in, then, entrust him with the WHOLE process. but that has seemed to be too much for the club
Thats the game for you this days, even the smaller teams sack their managers after few bad games, and you wonder what they expected the manager to do with the players at his disposal. Liverpool's case is kinda different as klopp has been able to get the team playing the way he wants then to, he is able to elicit great performances from them.

United do not have to stay so long away from the "top" to get back the quality performances they were known for in the past, their players do not just seen to have the desire or the traditional united flair to perform at the top of their game, they need a manager that'll spur their players on to perform, just look at what pep is doing at City as a perfect example.
5743  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If Bitcoin price increases suddenly. What will happen? on: September 13, 2019, 07:50:35 PM
5. Investors will sell their btc and start buying different altcoins
I do not think any wise investor would do that, no matter what happens to the bitcoin price, whether it rises or falls to any level, actually selling it off to buy altcoins that are not as consistent as it is, is bad trading imho.

It's hard to find a good altcoin in the crypto market this days, Bitcoin has completely overshadowed it, and I think what any wise investor should do is to try and own more bitcoins while it's still affordable for them.
5744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: September 13, 2019, 06:07:57 PM
If Juventus will pay 15m /y to him, he will leave even tomorrow.

#Pogback? Yes please, he can win the Ballon d'Or here.
De gea has always been enthusiastic to go to Spain, Madrid to be precise, but I doubt how possible that is right now as Madrid have already bought courtois recently and there is no way they will be spending another huge amount on a goalkeeper soon.
I do not know if juventus are interested in de gea, but if they are, it looks a sound move to me and one that could be tempting to the player, juve are a top top club remember.

Pogba would definitely leave united, I doubt if he is happy playing for united anymore, going back to juve yet again isn't bad and it'll be a great addition, but I doubt if Pogba has what it takes to win the ballon d'or.
5745  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 13, 2019, 05:53:45 PM
Finally the EPL is back tomorrow, I don’t foresee any big shocks, Man City & LFC will win comfortably. Potentially Man Utd could drop points against Leicester but would that even be a shock with how average Man Utd are these days?
Lol, everyone seems to be picking on united, and the reason is clear, they are no longer the team they used to be, I think Liverpool and city will win as you said.
But the game I'm most eagerly anticipating is the Chelsea Vs wolves game, Chelsea are battling with injury problems and wolves are never push overs, I see Chelsea struggling in this game, I predict a draw in the game, that's the best result Chelsea can get if you ask me.
5746  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How I almost got scammed on: September 13, 2019, 04:57:26 PM
Good to know you are able to spot the intent to scam, the fact that he don't want to use reputable escrow in this forum is already a red flag.
It obviously is and the deal should have come to an end at that time, all this sort of transactions are very delicate and whenever something looks suspicious, no matter how little, it's wise to stop the transaction and take a closer look at your perceived suspicion, if you're not convinced of its legitimacy, you quit, as long as you're still in control of your money.

For someone refusing to use the trusted escrow on the forum, just kind of reveals such persons interest, which is to scam his or her victim, we need to be more careful with all this or else pay for it by losing our funds to scammers.
5747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Less than 0.3% of the world population owns more than 1$ worth of BTC on: September 13, 2019, 03:12:06 PM
I think it is great that we have reached such awareness levels and such price with so little actual usage.
It might actually be the case of really aiming for the moon once we reach for real those numbers in the articles.
Really great and it shows that bitcoin is gradually moving in the direction where it could achieve the impossible, other than this facts, you'll actually think we've surpassed such amount of usage, but it's clear bitcoin is still behind in that aspect, and a look at the price and it's level of adoption doesn't actually show that, I think it's a big plus.
Probably before real mass adoption, I would love to see a real change of trend here.
And that change is actually needed, though I think it may not be happening anytime soon, the newcomers over the years are actually in the network for buying, holding and selling high, they find it extremely difficult to explore other important aspects of the network which I also would love to see more people do.
5748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 13, 2019, 03:29:08 AM
Solskjaer will survive this season for sure unless they get terribly bad results. He used to transition of course and test for him as capable. I guess they won't waste expensive and reputed managers in a transition period when no one expects big results and trophies.
it is not realistic to expect significant results with mediocre quality players.
Manchester United have been under transition for too long now, since Sir Alex Ferguson left, they are yet to find any suiting manager as well as team, it bothers me how long they're gonna be under transition, I'll rather say their level of being EPL's best has actually dropped to a Europa league team for now, and I really do not know when they'll be finding their feet, I hope it's not anytime soon.

Manchester United have spent as much as their rivals, city for example in the past couple of seasons and yet nothing to show for It, I think it's both the managers as well as the players fault, if they fail this season, then I think there is need for them to return to the drawing board
5749  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 13, 2019, 03:18:21 AM
It is quite impossible for City to lose this match.
If you want to place a fun bet, then this is a nice one. But, I wouldn't recommend you to expect it to come true. City will take this win even without Laporte and Walker.
Even though nothing is impossible in football, this one doesn't look likely to happen(city losing to Norwich) this weekend, smaller teams do spring up surprises, but the chances of a surprise in this one are actually slim.

You need to take a look at the squad difference between the two teams, no matter what city injury problems are, the players who would act as makeshift would be quality players that'll probably be first team players in most epl clubs, I see no chance for Norwich this weekend, they'll be lucky to escape a thrashing.
5750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: September 13, 2019, 01:45:19 AM
So finally, Hazard will make his debut against Levante on Saturday.Surely, every madridista is waiting for this match. But also another sad news for us that Modric is injured and will miss this match and also the match against PSG.
Zidane has a huge task ahead, many matches to play but injury list is long. So, next 30 days would be really crucial for Real Madrid. Firsr derby of the season is also ahead on 29th of this month.
Not just madridstas, but every football fan/lover is looking forward to seeing Hazard play for real Madrid, we're used to seeing him play in blue for Chelsea and his transfer to Madrid is one that had been eagerly anticipated at least for the final three years of his career in Chelsea though Chelsea delayed it a bit, really Hazard is going to have a big impact for Madrid this season, he is such a skillful player.

As the fixtures pile up, so is the injury list as well, and it's a real test for the manger, if he can handle the depleted squad and still pick up the needed points despite lacking first teamers and obvious quality in some areas.
5751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 10, 2019, 04:53:32 PM
I think Emery tactics are not that bad, however, the player is what makes Arsenal lose sometimes. If they can stick to their plan, they should be able to beat any team outside the top 6 easily. MU and Chelsea are not so surprising, especially because they have a lot of young players. Finishing in the top 4 is a tough target for them already.
I agree with you, it's no fault of Emery's. Arsenal need to start doing real business in the transfer window if they ever want to compete for the premier league title. The sort of players Arsenal signs aren't the kind that can win a team the league. If you ask me, Arsenal's problems is from their board and director of football, they need to start buying players with a bit of purpose to compete, for now their team is just merely good for a fourth place finish.

Chelsea and Manchester United, if things continue the way they started would have to battle it out within themselves for a 5th place finish, who else feels both Solskjaer and Frank would be losing their jobs at the end of this season. Cheesy
5752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: September 10, 2019, 04:11:46 PM
Just three days more and we are back to business as usual.
And holy heavens knows I just cannot wait, call me unpatriotic, but this international games bore me to death, and I think it's the same for 80% of us.
I try my best though to support my country when they play, but that's as far as I do go, I almost do forget about football during this period.

I'll be looking forward to the Norwich Vs City game, on paper it looks well in favor of City as always, but Norwich have proven this season that they are a good side, I think BTTS would work here.
5753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Qualifying on: September 10, 2019, 02:47:21 AM
Boom! There you have, Germany with their pathetic display yet again. I guess I'm just gonna sit out the rest of the international break and wait for the league matches to commence.
Belgium have been very brilliant tonight, with highlly in form De Bruyne providing all 3 assists for the 3 goals scored so far.
Germany did win their game, just that they didn't win as at when you wanted them to(first half)  Grin
And judging with the opponents the faced, they ought to have taken the lead in the first half, but football goes like this most times.
I find it very difficult to bet on international games, I just enjoy the games and wait for the league matches to commence, I can't wait for the weekend, I have booked my bets already.

KDB is on fire this season for both club and country, City will win the league if he stays fit all season(thats not to say they wouldn't, without him though)  Wink
5754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you know about Bitcoin before becoming a bitcoiner? on: September 10, 2019, 02:13:53 AM
I do not think there is actually anyone who accepted the bitcoin upon hearing about it, and my own story or experience isn't any different, when my brother started being enthusiastic about the bitcoin in 2017, I was totally indifferent and disinterested in the network, I believed it was run by scammers and sooner than later it'll come to a standstill.

In 2018, after much convincing, I was forced to look up some things about the bitcoin, which I did. I hence found out its potentials and how different it was from all the regular ponzi scam I knew about.
Ever since then, I've earned bitcoin through a number of ways:Bounties, fiat and trading, I can tell you that the bitcoin network is something worth experiencing.
5755  Other / Meta / Re: How to detect plagiarism on: September 09, 2019, 02:49:44 PM
There are some people believe that if one get acceptance from original users to use texts from another, e.g. form of bounty topics, they will still can be considered as plagiarism if they don't leave source-link of original topics. Only a few words, like "I get acceptance from A to use A's topic", is not enough.
It definitely isn't enough and should not be, if we make it so, anyone can just go ahead and say that they have gotten the permission of the original author to use their work and there is no way we can be sure if such person is lying or saying the truth, so it's just better to put a link to the original source if it's not your work so we will be aware it's not yours.
Lazy plagiarisms are the ones who copy/paste full texts,
And this are the most annoying of them all, those who simply copy people's text and paste them as theirs, either to increase their post count and get paid or to use such texts to earn merits and rank up, this set of users are the ones who make the forum admins ruthless with plagiarists.
5756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If You Win Big Will You Remember Your Losses on: September 09, 2019, 05:47:08 AM
For anyone who gambles frequently and with a good amount of money, it's very difficult for your winnings to outweigh your losses.
We all know how difficult it is to gamble successfully, losses occur more often than winnings, so to make sure your losses are minimized, you bet with small amount of money while still chasing the jackpot, that way if you get to win, you'll either be at an equilibrium or your winnings will be higher.

For me it's foolish to keep losing money everyday, then win an amount that is lesser and be joyous, you could have as well saved up all the money you've wasted and it would have yielded an increase for you Shocked.

...but I always worry when he does so well that England depends on him so much,,, he becomes ineffective for Spurs.
I do not think his stellar performances for England has affected nor will it affect his play for spurs, in recent seasons/years Harry has been a top player for both club and country, scoring numerous goals and being an indispensable player, I think it'll continue that way.
The favorite for the title it will be without any doubt France.
France has an amazing crop of players to choose from, the group of players is a dream for every international manager and Didier Deschamps is very lucky to be in charge of this team.
France would be favorites going into any international competition they are participating in.
5758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 08, 2019, 05:26:31 PM
Just so you know, Stone and Otamendi are right footed. The fact is City have so many Centre backs but among the regular starters, only one natural centre back is left footed and that is Laporte.

So finding a perfect pair will be a big challenge
I doubt if this can actually be called a challenge, before city bought larpote, I do not think they had any left footed defender. Two right footed defenders can comfortably play at central defence, though having a left footer can be an added advantage, which in larpote city has.

Whether it's Stones and otamendi, or Fernandinho with any of the pair, it would be totally fine and they'll be a rock in defence, city would ease through this phase, you'll see.
5759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling affected your personal reputation? on: September 08, 2019, 05:13:18 PM
Gambling can only affect your personal life if you let it do, gambling is really addictive and it can lead one to do foolish things like selling personal properties and getting involved in debts in order to use such money to place bets.

If one gambles responsibly and uses a minimal amount of money to bet, keeping his personal life away from it as well as not incurring any debts, then there is no way it can affect such persons personal life nor destroy his reputation.
We need a level of control with this things or else we'll be doing ourselves more harm than good.
5760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times have you gone against majority on: September 08, 2019, 02:32:47 PM
Sometimes for fun I bet together with a friend. Does anyone do that? We both pick 2-3 matches and invest the same amount. In case of a win we divide the profits equally.
I often do this with my best pal, and we usually pick very tricky games with big odds, we do this to increase our stake and hence our potential winning, I normally enjoy this sort of bets, as its interactive and fun between my friend and i, we most times throw jibes at the one who suggested the game that did not play out to our prediction Grin

I don't know if it is a psychological thing but I rarely bet on draws.
It's very difficult to predict a game that'll end in a draw, but since it entails the same risk as choosing any other outcome, I do go for it every now and then, and not to forget there are some games that traditionally most times end in a draw
