Easier to bend into cool shapes, duh!
It's hard to light a cigar from a silver round.

How often do you check the verification docs?

What might be cool would be to allow for attaching some lightweight mesh to allow for a degree of RF shielding.
I'd be totally for doing this to my main PC. The case is from when I moved to the US in 2000 so it's getting a bit old and it would be ideal for sitting under my printer. Way too many projects already on my plate though.

Much obliged. Limits are an unfortunate side effect of dealing with money; and its mostly to do with fraud. Where money is involved someone eventually tries to take advantage, sadly We've added a fairly straightforward verification system if you want to go the extra step and verify your account; that provides 100 GBP base rate. I should add that our system is pretty flexible and we can accommodate personal limits for repeat customers with which we have established a few smooth transactions (just contact support@speedybitcoin.co.uk). New features; yep - they're in the pipe - list as long as my arm Basically, the ethos from the outset has been to try and do one thing (Buying BTC) really well, rather than a multitude .... less well. However hopefully as we grow you'll start seeing a range of great new features made available! Thanks again for your candid feedback To be honest, if I were at home and not at work, I'd have all the verification stuff in already. The confusion with buying bitcoins could probably have been alleviated with a couple of shortcuts or "buy bitcoin" labels. It was not immediately obvious that the bank reference was where to click to get the info for that (it is in your instructions but who reads those? )

Having a prod around the site a bit more, some of my concerns have been alleviated. It would be nice if you had some way to show what kind of exchange rate could be expected though I know you can't guarantee anything given that you check several exchanges.
Great thing was that I was able to deposit funds quickly. I've registered with two exchanges today to replace some BTC I spent but my funds would either not be registered in good time or I could find no way to actually deposit funds online. With your site, I had BTC in my wallet within 5 minutes of completing the registration process.
The £20 limit for unverified users is unfortunate but understandable.
I do wish you had a few more exchangey features but I think you've done what you set out to do in a pretty solid manner. Thumbs up.

Can't work out how to deposit GBP!
Edit: Worked it out. A little confusing.
Exchange rate seems to be reasonable but not easily seen. Got £43.82 at 20/03/2013 17:57:00
In all, I'm a little concerned about the lack of information and transparency of this site. It's nice and clean otherwise though.

Who will be paying at this music festival? I have to know whether to get in early for the tickets or not.

Just to point out that books are good but there is a lot of good info available on the web including practice tests. I'm taking my Technician exam on the 15th and I managed to pass the online tests with just what I already knew so it's pretty straightforward

If it weren't for proudhon and evolve, the speculation forum would be a lot more boring. Really, it would breakdown into bulls vs more bullish bulls with pictures of rockets flying all over the place. We should thank them for their tireless efforts to provide a counterargument. It's gotta be tough.
With thanks to ShittyBitcoinDrawer

Sez who? Bitcoin central control?
Not as such.. but more than 51% of the hash power is running 0.8.1 which has the code to automatically withdraw the artificial limit that buys people time to upgrade in an orderly fashion. The train has already left the station. Yes, the wording is a bit strong, but as we saw there are a lot of people who are confused or unclear about what they should do. You obviously understand the situation and have already made an informed decision. But think of the other people who aren't paying as much attention, or just don't care. All they want is to be able to send, receive, and get confirmations. They do have to do something if they don't want to get left behind on the wrong side of the next block that breaks their client. I don't disagree with any of this. Just the wording. I think it's important if not essential that Bitcoin remains a decentralized, collaborative effort and the language should reflect that. With that said, I think I've made my position clear so I'll leave the floor for others to discuss now.

Well again no, value of something has always been how someone is prepaird to pay. You can value your car to 50k $$$ but its worth how much is someone willing to pay. Also no, i'm richer on paper but in fact i lost 99billion and my country lost even also, while company and that country is getting richer. Also when you are occupied you cant say no, even if that occupation is not military. Thus you have Giffen goods such as Oil where price is rising and demand is rising also. And who has oil, well satellite states owned by USA.
If you consider that every time you sell something and someone is able to sell it for more that you lost something, you are calculating things wrong and in for a disappointing life. Why would anyone wish to purchase your labor if they were not able to profit off of it somehow?

I categorize you as someone who can't think clearly on the subject, given your general worship of the free market.
Fortunately, I categorize you as someone who's categorizations have no significance so, meh...

My country has cash so i go to you and tell you, Ok sir will you sell me, lease me or anything similar your land for 1billion $. You rub your hands thinking how good deal that was but in fact real value of your land is lets say 100billion $.
Free & fair trade leaves both parties the richer. The value of a good is what the market settles on. If you sell your land for 1 billion, that's what it's worth to you.

I think required is the appropriate wording. only 0.7.2 is required (with work-around), 0.8.1 is recommended.
I think "strongly recommended" or "urgently recommended" would be appropriate. There is currently no one with the authority to require anything wrt bitcoin.
|
|
|
Let us know what you think of 0.7.2 in a few months.
Reading comprehension not your forte? If you don't upgrade you'll be snivelling in the dark crying why no one warned you to upgrade.
Yeah, OK.... The code is open source, check it and you will discover why
That's an advertisement for Bitcoin for sure... I am a person who *would* be able to comprehend the source and *I* don't want to read it. Simply saying "If you stay on 0.7, you are likely to end up the wrong side of a forked blockchain", which is what I assume is at issue, would have been enough.
|
|
|
Indeed. In fact that's another complaint. It doesn't even explain properly why you *should* upgrade.

Corporatism is a different thing than globalization. Corporations are better placed to take advantage of globalization, it's true but that doesn't make globalization itself a bad thing.

http://bitcoin.org/may15.htmlI don't like the language used. No one can "require" me to do this. I understand why I should and I will but the wording seems wrong to me. Opinions?
