581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Oyster Pearl gets a new exchange on: January 23, 2018, 04:09:56 PM
Haven't heard that so likely just a rumor.

Testnet is coming soon and Mainnet by April (supposedly).  These are bigger news than a new exchange.
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to set a future price for a coin? on: January 23, 2018, 03:50:59 PM
You can't.  We will all be rich otherwise. Wink

While project idea/solution, team, coin count, market cap, marketing, country of origin, etc. play as factors...populace adoption is the biggest thing which cannot really be predicted.  This is the reason P&D work so well in crypto...even when they do it on really shitty coins.  The illusion of fast and massive gains blind a lot of investors because of FOMO.

You can, however, increase your changes by doing your research on all of the enumerated items above.  Then form your own conclusion.
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICX to $100 in 2018 on: January 23, 2018, 12:30:16 AM
I'm currently thinking to sell my Qtum for Icon (The market cap is more or less the same) what do you guys think ?

I sold half my QTUM for another project (VEN) but I'd say it is good move to do that on ICX as well.  ICX currently holds #1 spot in my portfolio already, otherwise, I might have bough ICX.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex stealing GAS...so I am leaving them...slowly on: January 22, 2018, 07:51:05 PM
I've been slowly pulling out my investments from them which is down to less than 10% from a few months ago, the latest is my NEO, which I am forced to sell since I can't withdraw NEO from them.  I won't mind keeping it there if they re-distribute the GAS they are collecting but no.

They have stolen my account with over $3000 worth of NEO a few months ago and they never gave it back to me again. They are the worst exchange that has ever existed. Do not even bother yourself, because they are not going to change..
At least they haven't scammed you.

How can they do that???   I am sure you have legal means to get it back.  May not be easy but you should be able to.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Bittrex stealing GAS...so I am leaving them...slowly on: January 22, 2018, 07:08:56 PM
Bittrex used to be my favorite exchange but some of their practices are foul to me.

I've been slowly pulling out my investments from them which is down to less than 10% from a few months ago, the latest is my NEO, which I am forced to sell since I can't withdraw NEO from them.  I won't mind keeping it there if they re-distribute the GAS they are collecting but no.

Their greed will cost them eventually.

(rant over)
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My Picks for 2018 and why on: January 22, 2018, 06:35:30 PM
I maintain more than 30 coins in my portfolio...i have none of your picks.

I am familiar with NXS...good project but way too ambitious that I am afraid they are more likely to fail than succeed.  Will be a great coin if they pull it off though.  For now, I wait and jump in once they show results...let my money multiply in other coins.  Wink

Good luck!
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is NEO GAS a good buy right now? on: January 22, 2018, 04:07:43 PM
GAS that is produced in the wallet NEO is another gas? It can not be sold? I used to read that that gas brings 8 percent a year.

NEO is the coin (platform) and GAS is their token.  GAS is used as the FEE for NEO transactions.

It is generated by holding NEO in your own wallet (and in few exchange wallets-not all).

As more tokens create ICO under NEO platform, the demand for GAS (and it's value) will increase.  It is projected that GAS value/worth may be more than NEO in the future.

It is also worth noting that GAS generation stops at some point in the future and since GAS is burned after each transaction and only a fraction is "re-cycled" it will be a precious commodity if NEO becomes a big success.
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any altcoin which is less than $10 dollar right now and will be bomb in future? on: January 22, 2018, 03:09:40 PM
I think....ICX, VEN and ARK
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on quantum computers vs crypto? on: January 22, 2018, 02:55:47 PM
I believe quantum computers can hack any of the existing crypto coins/tokens as they are now...but they will evolve as the need arise and will probably weed out 75% of existing "shitcoins" that can't/won't.

This could be very good (depending on how you look at it) for the cryptoworld.
590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Here is a tip for all the noobs, all the SMART MONEY is in on: January 22, 2018, 02:51:39 PM
The question is what NEO has to offer more than ETH?

The biggest thing...is it being 1/8th the price. Wink

Nothing is guaranteed and we are all speculating but IF (very big IF) China officially adopts NEO (and they likely will)...then it could be worth more than ETH.  Imagine that possibility...or not, up to you.
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on quantum computers vs crypto? on: January 22, 2018, 02:19:03 PM
Some tech gurus believe that we're not many years away from quantum computers, maybe even months (this I don't buy).
But once quantum computers are out, every crypto will be hackable and insta mined.

Thoughts on that?
Crypto will not hackable if quantum computers are out. if you do not understand about how crypto works and you must try to learn more about that. as far as i know, the crypto already encrypted with quantum resistant.
quantum computer still a fiction and that doesn't even become a real thing.

Well the thing is you can claim quantum resistant but as long as there are no quantum computers it is impossible to prove. But i do think it is not something to worry about right now. There will be solutions in place when it happens.
The point is quantum computer doesn't even exist. So, we are arguing on the speculation about what will be happening if there will be a quantum computer in the future, but basically, quantum works to degrade SHA algorithm.
But as far as I know that SHA256 is not having excellent resistance to the quantum computer. I think that there will be algorithm improvement in the crypto in the future. But this problem already discussed in so many threads.
The possible thing to give a good resistance from quantum computers if all of the cryptos will try to upgrade their SHA algorithm to SHA512.

WRONG!!!

Read the thread again...quantum computers are in use now though just by major companies (and being developed/improved).

595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ARK or LISK on: January 21, 2018, 02:39:01 PM
First off, I rate all these numerous 'Ark is cheaper' opinions as BS as the money supply differs. You may make an estimations from current m'cap positions but don't forget Ark is messing around #50 spot like 1/2 of a year or more, rather loosing positions due to newborn promising VEN, ICX, Tron type projects (soon to be displaced by more, like QSP, ELF, Ethos...) than actually GOING UP, totally outta momentum!

Second, Ark is likely to have a paid shillers here at BCT or just old investing 'dinosaurs' keep shilling Ark for free hoping to catch some rook's (who barely buy an 'old' half-forgotten #50 ranked coins) attention, reasons:
- There is like 5 threads on page 1 today which pretty much contrasts with other soc platforms (FB, Reddit, Steem, Telegram, Twitter) where Ark gets zero to none attention when compared with currently "hot" projects (some mentioned above)
- There is a dumb fella with Ark logo in his avatar purely shilling Ark here no matter what the shot is

Long story shot, I've never invested in Ark, though I considered to do so; I invested in Lisk multiple times, and I just might to buy more as rebrand (18-02-20) is yet to come, announcing pretty much all news in one day in Berlin I think.

From this two coins, Lisk is just solid, credible and relatively safe-to-invest project, which is enough when compared to Ark.

As I said, both are good but I chose ARK.   I am not paid by anyone but I may fall under the "dinosaur" group though I am only into crypto for 7 months.

True, I made more money on TRON & EMC2 (both now all sold), VEN, ICX, QSP, ELF, NEO, RPX, KNC, NEBL, REQ, etc. per dollar invested but my belief on ARK doesn't change.  It is also true that I may be mistaken but we will see in the next few months Smiley
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Thoughts on quantum computers vs crypto? on: January 20, 2018, 11:20:35 PM
1st let me remind everyone that Quantum computers already exist.

It is not yet available for home use but in use now.  Google it.
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Supercomputers Golem vs. SONM vs. IEXEC - Who will win the race? on: January 20, 2018, 04:42:44 PM
Token/coin and supercomputer for me don't go together so none for me.

598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [PRL] Oyster Pearl predictions on: January 19, 2018, 09:18:16 PM
The dip provided this 2nd chance to get in at a good price.  Jump in now.

My original purchase was at $0.70, sold half at $2.99.  Re-bought as much as I sold recently and everything I have left are still pure profit Cheesy.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Opinion on Telcoin (TEL) on: January 19, 2018, 08:08:34 PM
Noticed it at $.04 a few days ago but missed buying it before it jumped. $.10 is is easy to reach
and probably will go higher given the low price.

HUH?  It is $0.00728 right now...so not even a cent.
600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin is best at 1k on: January 19, 2018, 03:44:39 PM
I think what the cryptoworld need is a much more stable coin as currency of trade and not BTC.

Let each of the alts sink or swim on their own and not rely on BTC.  BTC causes tidal waves that disrupt the entire crypto right now.  It helps many times but in general, it reflects too much volatility.

It was necessary then but I think we should start migrating to another coin currency for trade.

Don't mind me, just rambling. Cheesy
