581  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: December 19, 2023, 10:25:58 AM
~

It's not possible for people with average income to get into insurance because it has no meaning and that's why Op emphasize on those making money and have properties that are insurable. You can see that from the part of his post I quoted below. If to register for insurance is free and open for everyone, everybody will rush to register for it but as an average man struggling to feed three square meals, what are you insuring? Some can not even afford the first registration fee not to talk of monthly due. Insurance is only favorable to those who have enough money and properties that are worthy of reasonable amount in order to avoid great lose in case of any disaster or predicament occurring in the future.

If you make money, get health insurance for you and your family, and insure your assets that are a source of income, businesses. Get a life insurance to secure your family's future.
There's a saying " hope for the best and plan for the worst".

Definitely, if someone can not even fulfill their basic needs, they won't even think about insurance. But then I think health facility is a basic right that should be provided by governments. I didn't mean that Government's should provide free healthcare, but Government should provide an insurance system that are affordable to all economic class.

Yes and as much as we wanted to get insurance, people are reluctant, or shall we shall that it's not their priority as they have other needs besides getting it.

Of course, as much as we need it, others can't really afford it. Even educational insurance for our kids should be the first one in our mind, but nevertheless parents might be thinking of just paying the tuition fee in whichever way they can.

So it's hard world we life in, and if we are just a middle income family, gonna be hard for us to think about insurance, just saying.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder Vs Parker & Joshua Vs Wallin Boxing Mega Saudi card 23rd December on: December 19, 2023, 10:09:46 AM
It will be some interesting fights and I will do my best to see them live in some sports bar. Both Wilder and Joshua are the favorite to win and a fight between the two of them would be pretty exciting! If it happens, I think Wilder is the favorite to win.

Saudi really has the guts to stage such big fights. They have the money. They know how to attract fans from all over the world. I'll be making sure this day will also be free of appointments and other schedules.

Yeah, it's about the money now, I mean, oil money flowing to boxing? that will be great right?

If the two of them win in their respective matches, then it is becoming more probable for them to face each other next. If that happens, I agree with your that Wilder would be the favorite. And I also think that Wilder might knockout Joshua.

That is the plan in the beginning, Wilder and Joshua having a tune up with low risk opponents, just to get that cobwebs out before this two fight at the undercard of Usyk vs Fury.

So far Parker 5:1 underdog against Wilder. Otto Wallin, almost 4:1 underdog. So that speaks that this is just a confidence boosting match.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 19, 2023, 09:38:41 AM
Many here are talking about the Warriors and other teams, but no one is talking about how the Clippers are playing right now.
Why is that?

More likely there are more teams that deserve more attention? Or recently we have the Green situation and then Ja Morant coming back.

And probably there are less likely fans of Clippers here? They are still in the 6th position, tied with the Mavericks.

But I do agree with your observations, they are started to blend it, but we wanted them to test Mavericks and then OKC next and then Boston. But that will be great game and if they continue their winning streak and beating them with huge offensive weapons, then maybe we can have discussions how good are the Clippers.
584  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to self exclude from anonymous gambling sites on: December 19, 2023, 08:47:25 AM
I don't think it is the best option to put all in stacking and consider it as a self-exclusion because the money is still at some kind of risk, if the staking token/coin crashes then we will lose part of the cake, and that just for holding the wrong coin. So, i think is better to change it to fiat or cash, and put it in a safe box, that way if something happens to crypto markets it will not affect us at all.

I agree, for the the best choice is to just really cash out, in the first hand, you wanted to get out with that self-exclusion, so why still left some, including those tokens? Besides you should take control, I mean if you just stake it there, you still have to check from time to time and if crashes, then you lose all your hardwork.

So it's better to leave no room for error, self-exclude and remove all your coins from that gambling sites.

Even if it reputable, the market is still the one who's going to control, if the coins crashes or not.
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin ok in Viet Nam? on: December 19, 2023, 08:31:56 AM
Is bitcoin ok in Viet Nam?

online and offline.

1. what is the best place for changing bitcoins in Vietnam?(bitcoin to cash)

2.what is best site for online exchanging?

THX!

I'm also not from Vietnam, but based on some research here in our community, BitcoinVN - Vietnam's first and oldest Bitcoin Exchange.

And if so, if there is a local exchange, it's a sign that bitcoin is readily accepted by the government or at least it is in the gray area (not illegal).

So you might want to try that local exchange and see how it goes to you. Best of luck!!
586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc dump to 39600 on: December 18, 2023, 09:10:40 PM
Btc broke 42200 support
Now the target is 39600
What an opportunity to buy again, and there’s no reason to panic because this correction is normal.
Though some may feel bad because of buying at the peak price but that is ok because the market will rise again, what you can do to lower your cost is do DCA and make sure you are dealing with the best coin for this. If you are having a hard time looking for the good coin then you can go with Bitcoin, and wait for the peak price again.

But did we really broke $42k and goes down hard to $39k? Current price is still way above $42k so I guess the OP talk to soon as there's no correction whatsoever although the price might go down on a sideways pattern and then blow up to $45k at the end of the year.

Of course, DCA is our friend, regardless if the price will decline, we will have to used this strategy to accumulate more BTC and hold and then wait for the next all time high. So for now, let's continue to do that or at least up to where we reach the block halving.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Andre August - December 15th in Florida on: December 18, 2023, 08:53:09 PM
Jake Paul made light work of this fight, easy KO in the 1st round.

He’s targeting a World Title according to Sky Sports - https://www.skysports.com/amp/boxing/news/12040/13031495/jake-paul-sets-sights-on-world-title-after-first-round-knockout-victory-over-andre-august-in-florida

It ends up quickly because they might cook a crucial strategy for his next fight because this is a chance to prove himself to fight a better fighter next time and this is a sign that he is really improving and can go for a challenging opponent if he really wants to. I don't think he will sell more fights against some unknown boxers a retired MMA fighter or a nobody like this one. But as long as they are getting much more profits from his fight, I don't think they change their way anytime soon.

It's really hard to proved though that August did that in this fight. On the contrary, if media found out that this is just a setup for Jake and August was a fall guy then it will hurt his "reputation" as he wanted to build something that will push him to become a professional boxer and a world champion.

Let Jake rematch Fury though if he wanted to shoot two birds with one stone again. Fight a so called pro-boxer and then get the fans hype again and make more money. That formula has been proven already. And also we know that the storyline is that Paul will have his revenge.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 18, 2023, 08:29:55 PM
I honestly doubt that Warriors "need" Draymond Green, he is not a bad player that they would not use or anything like that, but I honestly think that they could play without him and be fine as well. The real trouble for them is the fact that Klay never really recovered from his injury, he is not as good as he used to be, that dude was nuclear from three at some times, and he is not that anymore and his defence is still better than Curry but not as elite as he used to be.

Of course they don't need Green they can continue to play, but he is the one of the leader of the Warriors, those intangibles that Green can bring to them is huge, just saying. It's not about Klay though, as you can see in his last 3 games, he scored 30,24,28.

If Klay was what he was, then even without Dyramond they could have won the title. In any case, I just think they are way too old now, and the chance for them to win a title is gone, they got one last ring and they should be happy with that, it's over and they should go home.

I think this is the main reason, they are getting old, getting another old PG in CP3 and they are using old system that maybe some of the teams have caught up with them already. And maybe the dynasty is already over, and perhaps it will only be Curry who will be left in the Warriors uniform when the management decided it's time to break up and star fresh.
589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price $45k by ending of 2023: AI prediction on: December 15, 2023, 10:14:04 AM
Would this be a sign that it would replace those kind of trading signals? What an amazing prediction by the AI bot here. I’m pretty curious how the boat analyse this and what are the parameters that were given to it to arrive to this conclusion because it’s somehow accurate with what’s happening now. Maybe we could recreate it or improve more our skills when it comes to trading or such.

Is not yet the end of 2023 and with the price looking as if is not yet to go make a move should be a sign to show that it might get past $45k and AI can be 100% wrong if care isn't taken, which I believe so.
Although the market price is some how having it rough in making a positive move and in the last 48hrs if not more you'd agree with me that we have been seeing a drastic drop in price, just hope this week can start up something positive.
Although bitcoin never touched or surpassed $45k this year, there was a time when bitcoin crossed $44k. So the fact that the AI made a prediction of 45k USD, a quite accurate number and can be considered an unexpected success, you cannot ask it to predict accurately to every detail, to every number. No one can make such relative predictions, including self-proclaimed experts or professional traders. I'm curious what your prediction is for bitcoin later this year when you say AI is making wrong predictions about bitcoin price?
I've never believed in AI predictions before, but this time I was really surprised with its almost accurate prediction.

I think everyone here also see that $45k is possible, and as you have said, we almost touch it due to the bitcoin spot ETF news in the first 2 weeks of this month. So it's almost as accurate as what the AI has predicted.

But as I have said, many members too have that number in their mind, and so we might say that it's impressive prediction by AI, but the human touch is still there that's why more individual here who are more of a TA guy predicted it. So still though, I think we shouldn't take out the equation that those who have learn and knowledge on TA can also prediction similar to what AI can do.
590  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Starting as a Bitcoin Blogger on: December 15, 2023, 09:42:06 AM
Seasons greetings to all members of the forum and happy Christmas in advance. Not too long the year will come to an end and I have been thinking since I started this forum and have started learning much about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I have decided to take a bold step in starting a life as a blogger in Bitcoin specifically. It's difficult to know how to start, but i have started watching video lessons on blogging and the first thing I was asked to do is to create an account on some blog sites like Medium, Wordpress, Wix and Tumblr. I know some people may be wondering why i have to share it here.

The thing is i need encouragement, insights and resources that will help me grow and successfully achieve this goal. By next year i want to be officially a Bitcoim blogger because am proud and i feel like one now  Cheesy

Perhaps i can find a mentor here.

Why need a mentor though? you said that you already take that bold step, so that is a start already. There are tons of information here, you just have to search for it, or draw some inspiration regarding what you want to write next.

So just baby steps, you said that you watch video so create a account already and then move on from that.

It's going to be very hard to find a mentor though, I mean everyone here could be very busy. It's not that they don't want to help, but most investors and traders in crypto are busy IRL.

But in any case, best of luck to your journey.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo scored a franchise-record 64 points to help the Milwaukee Bucks outscore the Indiana Pacers 140-126 on Wednesday night.

Antetokounmpo broke the team record of 57 set by Michael Redd in 2006 in a 113-111 loss to the Utah Jazz. Antetokounmpo’s previous career high was 55 in a 123-113 victory over Washington in January 2023. He had 54 at Indiana on Nov. 9.
https://www.nba.com/news/giannis-antetokounmpo-sets-bucks-record-with-64-points

Michael Redd. Oh yeah! I remember him.
What made this career-high of Giannis? Well, the Pacers lack an inside player who can protect the rim and when they are up against a team whose main focus is a big man like Giannis, they will probably be defeated. Just like what happened against the Lakers in the In-Season tournament where Anthony Davis dominated the game beneath the rim. Offensive rebounds, post-up play, and getting and ones that made Myles Turner fouled out.

Anyway, in that game against the Pacers, Giannis was supposed to rest with 3 minutes remaining in the game, it should've been a blowout game until the bench of the Bucks made a lot of mistakes that made the deficit go low to single-digits. They have to put their stars back in just to make sure and put the dagger.
Milwaukee Bucks is scary, an offensive threat in the paint, another threat on outside shots, and a good shot blocker like Lopez. They are complete at both ends of the floor. They might make it to the Finals one more time if healthy.

Yeah, Michael Redd, lefty right?

As long as the Bucks is going to play it right, they will be a scary team. And this is what we should have been expecting from them in the beginning, Him and Lillard teaming up to be one of the most formidable teams.

But it take some time to really have that kind of blending, and then the roster settling down on their roles, like Middleton and Lopez. We might see another breaking scores from other players too this season and this could just be a start.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: December 15, 2023, 07:59:26 AM
And it seems that Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis is going at it in their social media,

https://twitter.com/Realdevinhaney/status/1735287265180741880

Now, we will see who will blink here, hehehe, so far though it looks like Tank Davis has deleted his reply. Nevertheless I do want this fight to be at 140 lbs. Davis can easily make that jump in weight, he fought Barrios at 140 lbs, he officially clock in at  139 ¾ lbs so he can do it.

So that there will be no excuses that Haney fought weight drain.

That's money fight, Haney vs Davis next year and Tank going up for the jr welterweight. Yes, He has once fought at this division because it was careful matching with Barrios, good in paper but Tank has all the advantage in that fight. And after that, he goes back to 135 lbs.

And Haney is now calling him, it's really up to him whether he accepts the challenge or not but it seems that he wanted to fight Haney. So his camp should stop protecting him as this is what they do throughout his career, carefully picking up his opponents and to make him good. And even if he fought Ryan, we all know that Ryan is drain at 135 lbs and then they have to insert those rehydration clause to make sure that Ryan will not go above a certain weight and have the advantage.
593  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 15, 2023, 07:32:26 AM
Ever since Monday we've been witnessing what I like to call "bear desperation". This is what we saw during the 2017 bull run often too. Each time there was a recovery after a drop, the bears refused to accept the trend reversal and started trying to dump to push the price down and keep the bear trend alive. We've been having about 5 days of it now.
Although it doesn't seem they can win but we have to wait and see how much longer they can postpone reaching $50k...

True, I really don't know what's that kind of mentality of the bears though, I mean they keep on fighting a losing game here. Yeah, they could have succeeded to almost break it down to <$40k, but look at where the price is now, so it's a futile act and it could be what you call desperation.

They can't stop it anymore, the herds have left already and keeps on running despite obstacles that bears are putting along the way.

The bears are just postponing the inevitable goal for this year and that is at least $50k and more than 120% growth since the last lowest low for this bear cycle at $15,500.

595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 14, 2023, 10:38:39 AM
Yeah, but he can turn that into motivation and shows many people wrong about him. But you can't blame those boxing fans though, I mean with the way the Inoue is destroying anyone, it's not that he beat them thru score cards, but he just steamrolled everyone with vicious power and knockout.

So all is now on the shoulder of Tapales, to again, show his fans and his critics that he is not afraid of the monster and he see himself being him in his own backyard. It could be thru the judges score card or he caught Inoue and knockout him out.

The good thing about this fight for Tapales is there is no pressure on him as he is the huge underdog of this fight. Yeah, he can turn that underdog status as a motivation to do well for this fight, easy to say but i know it is very hard to do but he ain't called "The Nightmare" for nothing.

The only chance for Tapales to win is to win by KO not a decision win as seldom a challenger wins via decision in Japan.

If Inoue couldn't hurt Tapales early in the fight then that slim possibility to KO Inoue might come to fruition when the Monster is already tired in the championship rounds hehe.

He could still win though by decision, that is if the judges are not going to be biased, but for sure it's going to be international referee so I don't think that they are going to favor someone here.

And if the clear winner for rounds is Tapales and then this fight goes to 12 full rounds? There is a chance as well that he can win by decision. Might be some pressure though in his shoulder as if he wins he will be the first Filipino if I'm not mistaken that is going to unify a belt in any weight class.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: December 14, 2023, 09:54:09 AM
a big match at the beginning of the year for heavyweights, unifying the title belts of true champions.
if ursyk is not agile and nimble, he will lose, because his weight and body size are far behind, because ursyk is not a true heavyweight boxer, at first ursyk fought in the cruiserweight.

Not sure what you really mean though, we all know that Usyk is a heavyweight already, there could be arguments that he might not be a true heavyweight, but still he was able to bet a natural bigger guy in Anthony Joshua with his superior technical skills and his movement.

For this fight, it's obvious that there is a huge disparity in height and in weight. And so it can either by a plus or minus for Usyk. He could uses again his movement as he is lighter and his hand speed to hit Fury at an angle. While Fury will be looking to imposed that physical advantage of him. So still very interesting fight as this is for the unified belt and Fury as the slight favorite.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 14, 2023, 09:39:47 AM
Oh my goodness! Victor Wembanyama is making history for the San Antonio Spurs franchise. Longest losing streak at 18 now. I just checked the worst NBA team losing streak and it is made by the Philadelphia 76ers at 28 straight losses. I guess the Spurs should not reached that 28-losing streak. There are 4 games that they have a chance to win against Portland, Chicago, and Utah.

Fun fact, Joel Embiid was a rookie when Philly had 28 straight losses. Luckily for Embiid, he was not healthy and never played a single game during that season. Grin

I don't know if there was line on when the Spurs are going to break that losing streak.

But they could have a good chances on the next 4 games against those teams as they are also struggling if I'm not mistaken. Portland, still in the post-Dame era. Chicago Bulls, rumor of a Zach Lavine Trade. And then the Jazz, still can't find their rhythm, 4 out of their last 10 games.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google is preparing for Spot Bitcoin ETF on: December 14, 2023, 08:23:21 AM
In anticipation of the approval of Bitcoin ETF, Google is adjusting its guidelines for crypto-related products. Before now Google had been very strict on crypto-related advertising on the platform because of concerns for fraud and misleading promotion. However, it seems they are gradually adjusting these policies to reflect the increased mainstream or institutional adoption of Bitcoin.

From January 2024 Google will allow adverts on financial products that allow investors to trade shares in trusts holding large pools of digital currency known as "Cryptocurrency Coin Trusts". With this change in policy crypto coin trusts could run ads on Google provided they register with the SEC. This subtle adjustment of ads policy is an indication that they are preparing for Spot Bitcoin ETF.

Although this is a good indication, I think Google has been adjusting as far as crypto goes, if I'm not mistaken, since 2018 or prior to the pandemic, they have making some adjustments already like in advertising.

However, the platform we could say is still full of scammers and fraud as this criminals can still hide and there are still gullible newbies falling for this kind of trick since they've seen it in Youtube. So maybe we can take this so called adjustment in their guidelines for crypto-related projects, but still the bigger picture is that they have to be strict as well with contents that relates to fraud.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 13, 2023, 11:55:33 AM
I've seen some people bet big bucks on Tapales as they said that the odds will get lower the closer we are to the date of the fight. I know it's a shot in the dark but it's still possible that Tapales might snatch this win off of Inoue. Then again, when it comes to skill and overall punching power, Inoue is just levels above Tapales, that I think betting huge money on the Filipino to ride the odds is just insanity.

I have to agree with you there even though I'm with Marlon Tapales here to win the match. I do not even want to touch that fight with my money. It's insane to go with a decent amount of betting for Tapales but if that's a people way to support him, then good luck on their bet. Juicy odds indeed but it won't give me a temptation to bet on that. As a bettor, I preferred to bet for Inoue winning in a specific round or how he would win in this fight.

But again, since I'm a PH fan of boxing, I don't feel comfortable placing money for Inoue because I support Tapales here. Although like you said, we have to accept that Inoue is above anything against Tapales. I don't see an upset win here by Tapales but I'm hoping it will happen.

That's the sentiment of most Filipino boxing fans here, including me. Inoue is way too talented for Marlon Tapales and you are right, an upset is very unlikely here as most of the factors that lead to a win were on Inoue's side, a knockout is the only chance for Marlon Tapales' hands to be raised as the winner.

But the good thing here is that when everything is against a Filipino boxer, that's when the time that boxer shines, hope it will be time for Tapales to fail the expectation of everybody here. Just like Pacman when he fought Barrera for the first time, no one believed that he would win but he shocked the boxing world with that KO win.

Yes, the odds are pretty much stack up against Marlon Tapales and only few bettors would dare to put a bet on his head against the formidable Inoue.

Bu this is boxing, everything can happen inside the ring, even if you are a huge underdog, you still have a chance unless you got knockout. Mike Tyson was a prime example and all other underdogs throughout boxing history that has won the fight.

So not over for Marlon Tapales, he should believed in himself that he can conquer and defeat Naoya Inoue.
600  Economy / Economics / Re: Growth mindset versus fixed mindset on: December 13, 2023, 10:41:55 AM
For me as a human being, it's better to have a growth mindset, I mean we should be learning new things in life and not fixed to one and we should be going out out of comfort zone. And our human mind is also a very evolving, it's all about frequency and manifesting that's why we really should be thinking that we will be successful no matter what.

And with that, there are a lot of the thoughts that we wanted to see turn into reality.

So it will not be constant, we should evolved as much as accept the challenge in our lives, everyday. Don't be just fixated with one thing.
