Tether demand and market cap (close to about 10bn USD) has grown tremendously over the past several months, according to the stats collected by the BitcoinVN OTC trade desk over 80% of OTC deal volume is now conducted in USDT/Tether, while about in summer 2019 the trade volume saw Bitcoin ahead with about 60%; followed by USDT (25%) and Ethereum (ETH) at about 15%.

You're right, I've checked and they are not on the list of the official resellers.

But, I've seen that Trezor is welcoming most of the companies that are wanting to be part of their reseller program. Maybe they are just a new partner from that program and Trezor hasn't updated the list or there is no need for them to list their company.

Currently Altcoins are disabled across our fleet (the old Software setup used was from 2015 - and has not kept up with the changing transaction fee landscape), but we are currently working as one of our main projects on vastly improving the UX/UI of the software running on our machines.

Our News Desk published an article via Crypto prices in Vietnam are currently diverging from the "official rate" as show in Google, XE etc. 

When do prices in Vietnam normalize again?

Well, we got no crystal ball.

What we can tell is that the current period is indeed the highest and longest-lasting premium we have seen in over seven years of operation outside the Q4/17 – Q1/18 market top of the last cycle.

Over the whole course of 2020 the premium over the western markets usually ranged just within 1-2% compared to the official rate provided by the central bank.

Tendencially there is a good chance that the premium will persist for a fair while longer as long as the Kim Chi premium persists in this bull market cycle.

So do not expect the prices to drop much closer to the official central bank rates soon.

Holy moly 

Since Ledger remains for the year 2023 the (by volume) favourite choice of hardware wallet in Vietnam, our team at BitcoinVN Shop is also closely monitoring the threat models which prey on its vast userbase.

Most recently reports were incoming about compromised fake apps being distributed via the Snapcraft app store.

How can you protect yourself?

Never follow links provided in emails. This is the most common phishing attack

If using linux, do not install snaps or flatpacks. Follow the instructions provided on the wallet’s official website

When signing transactions, verify the addresses on your device using the original source

This quarter, the BitcoinVN research team has taken a look into exploring the stance of more seasoned "Crypto investors" in Vietnam and how they perceive staking options in late 2023.

One of the more curious - and hopeful - results was how many respondents were ardent supporters of self-custody and/or generally refuse to engage with "shitcoins".

For a place like Vietnam which has not exactly the "best" reputation in terms of well-educated investment decisions, this was a rather surprising outcome.
