We're back up, sorry for any inconvenience.

We've moved the site to a new server, our DB is still on an older one which is under a moderate ddos but this will be moved to a separate server within 24 hours. So basically the site works but is slightly laggy for the moment. When this is sorted I'll also post a thread again and offer compensation for downtime.

585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XNC] XenCoin | Instant | Stable | Long term Support - New UPDATE!!! on: September 21, 2013, 05:42:51 PM
We had a countdown to the opening of icobank for a month then nothing in the months since...
www.cryptsy.com exchange has promising advertising sentence "USD Markets (Coming Soon)" on top of every page on left side right under the main menu for Months, maybe since the beginning in May.
And nobody cares.
Almost every exchange is promising that it will be exchanging cryptocoins for fiat money USD or EUR but unfortunately it is very long process.
Developers of Xencoin shouldnot promise so much and people wouldnot be unsatisfied.
Except Bitcoin with every other coin you cannot buy anything (directly).

not true ~ as i accept payments in any coin(except DVC) that is listed on cryptsy !!! Grin

589  Economy / Securities / Re: Open Investigation into Just-Dice/Dooglus on: September 21, 2013, 04:42:30 PM
As an investor of Just-Dice who is now down a very considerable amount of coins (Now fully divested however), I'd like to open up this thread in dedication to bringing Doog, Just-Dice, and Letsdice to justice.

Dooglus has access to the non hashed server seeds, meaning he knows what the rolls are going to be ahead of time. Due to this he is able to bet on his alias Celeste/nakowa/allover & win excessive amounts of Bitcoin. With the name AllOver I almost feel like I'm being mocked at this point.

This EXTREMELY ODD evidence is what triggered this investigation and my realization that I was scammed for well over 50 BTC on my investment.

Just-Dice & Towtoad were registered a week between each other. Meaning Celeste/Nakowa had already planned on releasing a dice site BEFORE he won the excessive money from JD? It sounds like planning ahead to me... planning ahead a ponzi

- But why would Doog make towtoad.com?
It's fairly obvious that Doog is a smart person. In order to cover his tracks and make his scheme look more legitimate, he opened a competitor site to give the illusion it isn't him. When first confronting Doog, his reply was "But didn't Celeste go make a rival site" (Or something along those lines). It's obvious this is his 'fall back' excuse which he's hoping will consolidate his ponzi. Shame he forgot to differentiate the domains...

- But wouldn't coding a new dice site outweigh that small illusion he'd be presenting?
Towtoad was a complete copy of Just-Dice, there were slight design changes & a few extra features which Doog was probably planning on implementing on Just-Dice but decided against it for whatever reason. It wouldn't have taken more than a few hours to have it up & running.

Please post in this thread any other evidence, explanations or suspicions that you fall upon! Lets bring this disgusting piece of work DOWN!

do you want this site removed? Roll Eyes LOL

Big mining pools also have custom patches on top of PR #2577, that ignore transactions they feel bloat the UTXO set.  Even more relevant to MasterCoin, at least two pools that I know of elide transactions that appear to transmit data rather than monetary value, trying to prevent another episode of dumping wikileaks cables into the blockchain. ...

i'd imagine it's possible to filter data type transactions coming from only certain countries that the pool don't like?  Roll Eyes

593  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Why I believe Mastercoin should be encoded on the bitcoin blockchain on: September 21, 2013, 02:58:19 PM
One important reason I'm not moving to an alt-chain is the distributed exchange between bitcoin and MasterCoin, which isn't possible if we are on an alt-chain, since it requires using data from standard bitcoin transactions AND MasterCoin transactions to work.

I don't think I've mentioned that reason anywhere else, but it is probably the primary reason I'm not even willing to consider it. There are other reasons, like total cost of development, and even the dirty stink of starting yet another alt chain (For instance, bitshares is doing it "right", but they were banished to the alt section with all those scam coins, which they of course bitterly resent).

I am totally convinced that building on top of bitcoin is the right way to go, for all the reasons here and above in Ron's posts.

would'nt using Bytecoin(bitcoin clone) work just the same ?  Roll Eyes tia
594  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Why I believe Mastercoin should be encoded on the bitcoin blockchain on: September 21, 2013, 02:55:05 PM
But in truth it is a competing alt-coin that uses the bitcoin infrastructure.  Its like you said you are going "sailing" but are actually just sitting in your car on a ferry.  MC is technically a service on top of Bitcoin but in essence it is a separate coin.
Bitcoin is more like an aircraft carrier named Honeybadger which was built for the masses which is in an ocean, owned by no country, and surrounded by sharks. And Mastercoin is like a small motocross track with 100 or so individuals trying to organize where to put in its first jump.

The original honeybadger video if you missed it.

satoshi:  gtfo oh hell no you kaint build the Mastercoin motocross hijack track on top the platform of our BTC aircraft carrier !  Cheesy

596  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Why I believe Mastercoin should be encoded on the bitcoin blockchain on: September 21, 2013, 01:41:49 PM
So here's a quote from Mike Hern's reference:

Quote
One final reason is that Satoshi was opposed to putting non-Bitcoin related data into the main chain. As creator of the system, his opinion should carry a lot of weight with anyone serious about extending it.

You can pretty much guarantee that will be enforced in the future.

that's impossible you can always do a morse code type string of transactions Grin
597  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Why I believe Mastercoin should be encoded on the bitcoin blockchain on: September 21, 2013, 01:36:17 PM
Not only is it possible, but I documented how to do it years ago:

598  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE and SatoshiCircle under sustained DDoS... who could it be? on: September 21, 2013, 02:31:57 AM
The posts have been deleted, this is the guy : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=285696.0 , he also posted in the satoshicircle topic asking for 1.4 btc.

He's obviously making fake claims in an attempt to profit off the misfortune of a few sites. The attacks hitting SD,PD,JD etc are quite massive and not something someone would do for a chance to beg for a few bitcoins which myself and the owners of these sites would never hand over.

my team crashes through walls all day, problem with me asking for anything is i can't promise you it will ever come back on again! Roll Eyes
