581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin fork cancel? on: November 10, 2017, 07:49:57 PM
I think this was the right move and the fact that they realised that the community was not behind it is a god thing.

Ultimately nobody wants to destroy bitcoin and I think this had he potential to seriously disrupt and split the community.
582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC at 6500 or wait to go lower? on: November 10, 2017, 07:43:02 PM
Should I buy BTC on 6500, or wait to possibly go even lower?
This is an age old question, the nature of bitcoin dictates that it could be up or down at any time, the question you need to ask yourself is can I afford to lose whatever I put in, nobody should be putting money into bitcoin that they need, worst case scenario is that bitcoin goes way down and you lose your investment.

I don't mean to scare anyone but this should be in mind when investing in anything, bitcoin has been on a tremendous ride recently but will this continue? who knows.

To answer your question, yes now is a good time to invest as long as you can afford it.

583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Which Exchange do you all recommend? on: November 10, 2017, 04:16:29 PM
Using Binance at the moment. Is that one of the best, or there are better ones?  I live in Sydney Australia by the way.

And which exchange has the lowest fees?

And do I need to provide photo ID etc to join them and to start buying coins?

Thanks:)
Bittrex is great for trading altcoins and has had very few problems over the years and seem to take security very seriously, I am not sure about depositing cash however as i do not use them for this but there are many that do and as long as you have your verification sorted I can't see it being a problem, well i haven't ready too many horror stories anyway.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin all over London underground on: November 10, 2017, 04:12:45 PM
Would be cool if you could provide a picture of something visual to back up your subject that bitcoin is all over the London underground, sure it will be present especially in a major city such as London but to be plastered all over the underground system I find that hard to believe.

I would really be interested to know which company would be reaching out like this as they must already have a decent user base to afford this type of advertising.
585  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Okpay card? on: November 10, 2017, 08:28:59 AM
First make sure you have read all their terms related to their debit cards, they will not allow you to upload money that you will get from bitcoin deposit or from any funds that originates from cryptocurrency.

They might send you card which you can use to make withdrawals but you can't load funds there from bitcoin. You can fund okpay account with bitcoin but you can't load those money into their cards.
That kind of defeats the point of having a card, I have never used Okpay but there are others out there which do allow you to load funds to your card, spectrocoin is one I am familiar with, I think that all the cards will now want verification to happen before being able to use the card.
586  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie story - Everything started with a Big Mac... on: November 10, 2017, 08:26:27 AM
Hi everyone!

2 years ago I bought a Big Mac (around 5 Euros) to bring to a good friend that was really hungry ...I did not want the money back so he proposed to give me the equivalent in BTC; He explained a bit about it, convinced me to download Mycelium on my phone and then he sent me 0,017 BTC

Then I totally forgot about it...
...last week he messaged me: "hey, did you ever open/check again Mycelium...!? If not, go and check!"
So I discovered "that Big Mac" is now a 5/6-course dinner in really nice restaurant Roll Eyes Shocked!!

That's how my story with the Bitcoin started and why I've decided to join BCT Forum!

I've looked around and I found a lot of guide and Q&A here that I'm going to read to understand deeply this new (to me) world!

My first question is:
Any suggestion about the best way to invest my "BigMac"...? May I just keeping it or...?

A special thanks to my "Big Mac addicted" friend!

Bye from Italy  Wink

Ha, that's a very similar story to how I introduced someone to bitcoin, I offered them bitcoin instead of cash for lunch and since then they keep a close eye on it and buy every now and again.  You could just keep it like you have done and then come back in a few years and see the growth, you might be able to buy a house and a nice kitchen to cook yourself a meal in.
587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Way too many new coins - is this a real threat for crypto ? on: November 09, 2017, 05:36:34 PM
Competition is healthy right? I don't see it as a major issue but I do feel that there are far too many ICOs now so to find the decent ones through all the rubbish can at times be like finding a needle in a haystack.
588  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k By March 2018 on: November 09, 2017, 03:47:56 PM
If you read how things and adoptions are going for, there is a fairly amount of demand, and a push for $10k by holders.

Do you agree?
Yes I was thinking more towards the end of this year to hit that mark but not too sure now since the fork is not happening but even so the price does not seem to have been hit as hard as I thought it would be, but yes definitely by March I foresee the $10k mark.
589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] KYC.legal - Blockchain identity verification on: November 09, 2017, 02:21:00 PM
Just reading through the op and need to highlight an error, myself as an investor one of the major things that turns me away from a project are mistakes in the announcement as it shows that there is not enough care taken to review things before they go public, obviously this could just be an oversight or a language problem but if it annoys me potentially it could annoy other potential investors.

I am referring to the section FOR USERS
- User is able to chose information provided to the server

Please change this to choose, especially when asking people for money it is important that things like this do not happen Smiley
590  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto Currency is making people millionaires all over the world on: November 09, 2017, 11:51:18 AM
There would be quite a few that have been lucky enough to get to that level through bitcoin itself, the early early guys if they didn't cash out early would be laughing now.

I think for anyone coming into bitcoin now expecting to get super rich may not be as lucky but you never know where bitcoin is going, I think if you are looking for a quick way to get rich you may find this in the altcoin market and then cashing back out into bitcoin.
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How safe is exchange? on: November 09, 2017, 09:47:22 AM
Exchanges shouldn't be trusted as a long term storage solution for your coins just in case, are they safe from being hacked and funds stolen? they are targets and because of this many of the larger ones will have very good security in place and a process for backing up funds in cold storage etc so although there is a chance I would be shocked if they were hacked easily.
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Social Experiment on Bitcoin on: November 09, 2017, 08:43:45 AM
This is not surprising, I think you could do the same experiment in pretty much any country and would come out with similar numbers, let's try this again in 5 years and it will be reversed, 90% of people will know exactly what bitcoin is.
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The one that got away on: November 09, 2017, 07:35:09 AM
He obvious one bitcoin, ETH also as I remember considering it when it was cheap as chips but never went for it.

There have been a few altcoins over the years that  I have sold far too early, one of these was XEM.
594  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin prediction on: November 08, 2017, 03:29:39 PM
in 2017 bitcoin increase value almost 700%, now prices between $7000 and $7300, what month do you think bitcoin will increase value till $10.000?
I think you should add another couple of choices, it will be hitting $10,000 by the end of this year, November or December so I think if you add these two they will be the most popular choices.
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the potential risk in joining an airdrop? on: November 08, 2017, 01:40:27 PM
I think airdrops using an ETH address is pretty safe if you are only giving your address to them, if an airdrop is for a good old fashioned altcoin this is where you can come unstuck by downloading a wallet which is new and unknown, as always just be vigilant and like you already have said, never give out private keys to anyone.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 08, 2017, 01:36:54 PM
I don't think it is being greedy to keep your coins safe for the future, as long as you do not have your life savings involved and you are prepared to make a loss by just holding then you will have nothing to worry about once it finally hits the top and you are rich Smiley
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A newbie just killed Ethereum on: November 08, 2017, 09:44:00 AM
Certainly a lot of money locked up in this, the biggest so far and not the first time Parity has had issues, even though this isn't directly linked to ETH being at fault, it will look this way to the average onlooker when they read stories about this.

599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top crypto currencys to buy on: November 08, 2017, 08:22:38 AM
Have a look at coinmarketcap and do a bit of research on a few that haven't been mentioned here, you might find a hidden gem.
The coins that I have recently looked at are SHIFT, TRUST, OMG, ADK.
600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: buy btc now or wait the fork ? on: November 08, 2017, 08:19:07 AM
One factor to think about as well is that if you are interested in having coins on the chain created by the fork without having to buy them once they are up for trading, buying bitcoin before the fork is a good idea so you will get an equal amount of coins on the new chain.

Price wise it does seem like we are on a slight downward trend so maybe leaving it another week or so might get you a lower entry point but then it could also be higher, it's one of those things that could go either way.
