581  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is the bull run that doesn't end.. on: July 28, 2016, 01:41:18 PM
As long as the bitcoin price does not rise more than 300% every year, the bull run will last very long period.

That is right. The big pump and dump will do very big damage to the bitcoin. So a smooth run is better.

I just hope the bitcoin price does not rise more than 100% for the next 20 years, and it becomes less volatile.

So... you don't like having money?

Well some people do

iamnotback, are you trying to flirt with steemit girls now? And becoming a regular steemit poster while bashing it this whole time? LOL

I guess steem is a success!

i can feel the train coming.

where is the train??

the train is rolling around the bend, but I'd feel more bullish if you could get a better job.

I don't look at days. I look at years and decades. The future of bitcoin has never looked so bright.  Wink

How many decades before bitcoin hits $1000 again?
586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: July 26, 2016, 04:01:41 PM
I decided to look up and investigate who the two downvoters were thinking it might be some crazed Eth shill like Minecache...nope, two bimbos.  I have a feeling they downvoted solely because it was content on the front page they weren't interested in and wanted it replaced by mindless things like pictures of rainbows, cats, American Idol, etc.

Or maybe because you made a thread attacking bimbos?   Wink

The incentive structure is all about appealing to the delusion with the content that is written. There is no economic incentive to organize around different communities than the to-da-moon blockchains for everything delusion.

Steemit is trading real money and the bubble only lasts for as long as everyone continues to POWER UP everything.

Eventually people want to start cashing out.

The reality that is likely to hit before that is the realization that giving money away for free creates a lot of discord, jealousy, game theory, anger, etc.. That has already started and it will grow worse and worse. Guaranteed.

I actually completely agree with these points. No one gets overtly jealous or hateful when they see someone's post getting a high # of upvotes on Reddit.. but you can clearly see it happening on Steem. Money changes everything and it will be interesting to see how these dynamics evolve when there is emotion is involved. As smart as the Steemit devs are, I don't think they have thought about all these factors that iamnotback mentioned.

However getting paid to post/blog is not a new concept, there was Bubblnews back in the day which was incredibly popular in Asia. I'm just hoping it grows significantly over the year before it's deemed unsustainable so my SP grows and I can cash out.

Also, to smooth or anyone who may have a say in Steemit... please update how everything is organized and categorized. I actually kind of hate the layout right now. It's hard to find a specific community or like-minded people to discuss certain topics with. No matter where I navigate to I always end up at the trending posts, which are personal intros or blogs 90% of the time and have nothing to do with what I'm actually looking for. Which again leads me to question whether Steemit is meant to be a personal blog or something akin to Reddit... at the moment it seems like a personal blog, as these are the highest paid posts and these posts are giving incentive to others to post the same way.

There's also a Search option in Steemit but it's a generic google search, why would I want that? I want to be able to search "bitcoin" and see the threads about bitcoin that have been tagged "bitcoin". Right now if bitcoin is not one of the options in the select topic drop down then I'm out of luck. I'm guessing these are all works in progress
587  Economy / Speculation / Re: After a bull run, on: July 26, 2016, 01:32:48 PM
When will these greedy idiots come to realize the days of "going to the moon" is long over?

This ain't no 2013 any more. Anybody who's ever be interested in cryptocurrency has now heard of Bitcoin. The growth in transactions and the wallet numbers are due to the same users. Without brand new bag-holders, Bitcoin is bound to stay at 400 +/- 20 for a long time, like years and decades.

Why should anyone take idiots like you seriously?
588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: July 26, 2016, 01:04:36 AM
Umm, what do you have against introverts dude?

Nothing when they don't judge me while hiding themselves from the type of exposure that they judge. And I didn't write I was against introverts did I? I wrote INTJ and ENTP are often incompatible because of the combination of judging combined with the asymmetrical potshotting from behind an introverted shield.

What you do have against that logical stance dude?

You should be filtered out of my coterie and myself filtered out of yours. You go hang out with your INTJ types and I will go hang out with the extroverts who prefer production and discussion over judgemental impossible perfection.

Ok mr ENTP, you sound like you're awkward and cringeworthy in real life

Looks like attractive women and people with sob-stories are getting all the votes.

It's hilarious to see retards complain about their posts not making money... fucking lol. Women have ALWAYS got the pedestal treatment in social media, no reason to cry about it. And a lot of the retards who are complaining are also mimicking top voted posts thinking they will get the same treatment.

Is this supposed to be a personal BLOG? or something more similar to Reddit? If this is meant to be the next Reddit they need to change the layout drastically because I try to discuss current events or bitcoin trading and stumble across some retard's personal blog/intro post in every section.

My steemit account is "worth" $2.5K which I mostly acquired though posting, which is nice I guess. This is a new concept and it's been gaining a massive following and newcomers into crypto... it's not even a competition for bitcoin, if anything this is a compliment to bitcoin, so not sure why some of you here are hating so much and trying hard to make it seem like a ponzi scam
591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum on: July 22, 2016, 04:07:23 PM
Coinbase added ETH.

I dunno why they would add this as their first altcoin after such a disaster. The coinbase fucks much be bag holding ETH or something
That's why you're not the COO of a highly successful crypto company. Or any company for that matter.

Fuck off ethereum shill, enjoy your pump and dump coin
592  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 02:14:57 PM
Buy opportunity or sell opportunity? Huh

Thoughts?

Of course, today is a buy opportunity because, if you noticed, the price is going down.

The best practice is to buy BTC on the way down and to sell on the way up.

If you were going to sell some bitcoins, then you should have already done that.

So under the current price direction, the opportunity is here and that is to buy little bitcoins, and the only questions are how much to buy and at what price increments.

Yup, I'm leaning towards buy opportunity too.

Just gonna wait a while to make sure it doesn't continue downwards.

I think some huge gains are in sight the coming months.

How huge tho?

90% of my net worth is in bitcoin now hehe... I'm either retarded or a genius

2. This high interest rate will only last for 9 months... so might as well take advantage of it

What makes you think that? I don't think that is correct. The Steem Power compounding is perpetual.

I read form a post by dan himself if I remember correctly... I think the interest rate changes
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: July 21, 2016, 03:19:42 PM
My concerns about that are:

1. What if BTC skyrockets and steem value stays the same?
2. What if Steem gets hacked again within that time?
3. Time value of money... having 3.6 BTC now is much better than getting it over the course of 2 years
4. Am I really trusting that the Devs have thought this through.... that they not only understand crypto but also ECONOMICS enough to know that this ecosystem is sustainable?

1. there's always this risk.. you can make this same question for any investment in bitcoin.
2. same answer ^
3. yeah sure. but dont forget about the reason why you powered up. to have profit with this you will need to "work" in steemit. With more power you will earn more from PoS, curation and other things.

What's your steem account? Let's become whales and upvote eachother Wink

I'm @dafar
596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: July 21, 2016, 02:37:53 PM
It's on POLO & everywhere, it means they are growing. If you wont get hospitalize if you lose those 3 btc then HOLD.

I won't get hospitalized haha. But I hate seeing my BTC count go down. There's a certain amount I want to HODL in case we see another rally this year. I think I will just rebuy when I get paid tomorrow.

you still are on the top of the scheme, so calm down Cheesy we have time to make some profit and get out.

Yay I'm on top! For once!!

But here's the thing... if I power down now I have to wait a full 2 years to get my 3.6 BTC back. That's an eternity for bitcoin. I'll basically be getting payments of 0.0346 BTC every week for the next 104 weeks.

Since I powered up, the obvious choice is to HODL and keep gaining interest on SteemPower. My reasons for powering up were:

1. The interest that SteemPower gets is very good, every time I refresh my SteemPower grows
2. This high interest rate will only last for 9 months... so might as well take advantage of it
3. The user growth rate is extremely impressive. It may be the first "killer app" in crypto
4. There is a small chance that I could be a REAL early adopter of this... this is only 3 months old
5. Since this is so new, and already getting so popular, and only has 30K users at the moment.... the growth side is huge, and even if this platform ends up NOT being sustainable.... there's a good chance that at least for the next few months it keeps on growing, I keep on acquiring interest on my SP and by the end of 9 months I am HOPING that I have acquired a lot of interest and the Steem price has at least doubled to make my investment worth it
597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steem pyramid scheme revealed on: July 21, 2016, 02:04:03 PM
I just used 3.6 BTC to buy Steem and power up..... you mother fuckers should have told me this yesterday

Ahh! Oh well, with the amount of traction it's already getting it may still grow higher?
598  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening? on: July 20, 2016, 01:59:23 PM
Everyone was expecting a very high price increase during the block halving period.

No, only idiots were and you fell for it

600  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to turn 2BTC into 4BTC on: July 13, 2016, 01:31:48 AM
If you put 2BTC into Steem yesterday, you would have had 4BTC today

This was your best way to turn 2BTC --> 4BTC

And I bet OP missed the opportunity LOL
