Are there any settings for a low power bios / mod? Using the strap mod only so far to reach 660 h/s

After the ROM mod, trying to attempt any finetuning in AB 4.2 or 4.3 will crash the rig or become unstable.
For 480 case, messing with wattman is no picnic too and I could only get 33% reduction in -mV.
But using the ROM mod as it is, can already achieve 29MHs, low power - just under 1000w for 6xGPUs and considerably less heat.
Without using his low-power rom and using a different one, I have a 6 card rx480 rig doing > 29.1MH/s for each card pulling total 882w at the wall. That is using Windows and the rom and applying -100 mV drop and it's rock solid (also Biostar motherboard). That adds a lot of savings when you have multiple rigs! the current SM Linux @ 6x480 @ 730watts with Heliox rom is running well and integrated with Claymore Ethman monitoring so I am happy with that. I probably consider your approach too (Boysie's rom?) further power savings but my intention is to move away from Windows as much as possible. No plans to dismantle this rig since its already ROIed -- but all future build will default to the 4GPU build. Do you know any details of the mod? I have 470s (non MSI) so its hard to find a rom. So far I´ve only done the 1500er strap mod by myself but I´d like to save some power of course ;-) |

Anyone see anything wrong with this approach or have any suggestions?
i have found that once ALL gpus are in, reinstall the graphics driver. the reinstall seems to help all the cards, ie the driver install needs to see all installed gpus during the actual install. even if the driver is working and already installed with less cards in the rig. works for me anyway. do you deinstall the "old" driver with DDU or something? or do you just install again on top?! |

i upgraded to the newest version on my dual rx 480s but ethminer doesnt accept any shares, it just scrolls mining on powhash blah blah blah..
any reason why?
Are you mining ETH additionally with an extra ethminer? Than this could be the reason of course ;-) --- Jox, for RX400 cards only daggerhashimoto + equihash are possible algos right now right? Why is that an will this be changed later on? |

Here some of my rigs, total rigs 85 cards 292.
In a week or so we are starting the preparation process for hot summer, more photos to come ..
looks great, but why would you not use an ATX mobo that can handle 6-7 cards? your mine would be using ~40 fewer motherboards, 40 fewer CPUs, ~320GB less ram, and 40 fewer SSDs. Thats like $5000-6000 savings, and less time spent tuning 1 rig at a time I'm aware of that and unfortunately that was not my decision, when this order is finished we will switch to 6 mobo rigs..  OMG seems like a full time job just to supervise that everything work. In fact I did quit my full time shitty job for projects like this and I haven't made better decision in my life yet Amazing  So whats your location / electricity price?! |
