so ive got 4 units
2 hash at 437 and 441 2 hash at 418 and 415
emailed bitmain and they asked me for screenshots of the status page
I wonder, what they are going to do with this information? I'm surprised you got a response. I sent a message through their internal messaging system on the 26th and have not heard anything. Two units that won't hash stable over 415. Even offered to NAT two public ip addresses to the units so they could fiddle with them. so far my S3 units resisted any fiddling. One can be accelerated to 237.5, but then one chip drops out (X). I am going to check the unit today and see if, perhaps, there is no or too little thermal paste there. If not, i will just leave it alone at 218.75/441Gh. I just noticed my third unit hashing at 418 has an X, when i reboot it switches to " - " asic status.. resulting in my needed to do a hard power cycle from the PSU

I wonder, what they are going to do with this information? well I had sent them screenshots before, but via my iphone on the web GUI and the screenshot cuts off on the right where it says 'Discarded', so everything after that was cut off and they replied saying their engineer is asking for full screenshot as the side was cut off so obviously their engineer wants to see something in one of the spots for either: Stale, Diff, Diff1#, DiffA#, DiffR#, DiffS#, LSDiff, LSTime

1) What's up with the Wifi options in the networking tab? Is this for potential wifi expansion? Was surprised when I seemed to be able to connect o my wifi network with them, but ya must have 'connected' just through my wired connections. Anyways just want to make sure that there is no wifi right.
You need an antenna, but it has wifi built in. Is the wifi set up the same as with the S1's? I don't see this anywhere in the doc nor do is see the SME connector in the pics. Just bought five S3s (batch 5) and have been running seven S1s on WiFi with absolutely no issues for months. Thought I was going to have to hardwire for the S3s, but would love to avoid doing so, if possible/practical. Is anyone actually running S3s on WiFi? If so, are there any issues to be aware of? I'm running one S3 on wifi and another hard wired, but that's because it can't get the signal strong enough for the wifi where it has to be located for the time being. The one running wifi isn't using an antennae. So does the S3 have an SMA connector for an antenna? It looks like this: http://www.active-robots.com/right-angled-pcb-sma-connectorYes but you have to open the case and keep it that way. They were too lazy/cheap to connect a pigtail. i wonder if you could just drill a small hole

For those getting the - status on the chip try changing the PCI plug location, instead of using front two try the back two or try one in the front and one in the back

at stock frequency 1 of my 4 S3's only hashes at 400Gh, anyone have this issue?
Yeah, I have one that is great at 440g using 218, but the other one I had to bump up to 225 to get it to 440. Otherwise it would just sit around 415. did you have to use 4 pcie cables to bump it to 225?

Does anyone have an s3 that only gets 400gh on stock settings? One of mine gets 404gh avg on stock freq

My favorite item I see in this picture is the SMOKE DETECTOR !!!!!!!!!
Pfffttt... real miners don't use smoke detectors or any of that fancy UPS thingy. Or shelves. You'd never ROI with all that ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) yeah totally, my setup is all macgyvered extension cords and cat5 cables dangling across my garage with daisy chained power strips and exposed wire wrapped in gum wrappers

Anyone using their S3 on P2Pool? I am mining on GHash right now and it makes me hate myself. If P2Pool worked for you guys, I'll switch them as soon as I get back.

so I undervolted 1 of my S1's to 275 freq and using pencil got each resistor down under 3 (some 2.8 some 2.9)
its been a couple days and im averaging 118GH on the ant GUI
that seems low doesn't it?
both units are on a 660w seasonic platinum PSU drawing 560 watts between the 2 (one S1 is overclocked to 200GH)
only thing I can think of is I ran out of PCIE cables to power my new S3's so I pulled one from the S1 and rigged one blade on the undervolted S1 with molex to PCIE adapter (using 2 molex perif cables coming from the PSU so the adapter is not on 1 cable but 2) I figured this would be ok considering the S1 is undervolted and drawing less power
For 275 your voltage should be up around 900mv. What is your voltage? how do i check the voltage? also on this particular S1 the yellow voltage deals are super tiny compared to my other S1, would that make a diff?I figured it out, for some reason even though I dropped each resistor to 2.8-3k with my pencil they all were somehow even lower down to 2.5k after a few days, i wonder if the lead can heat up and do something weird which would lower the resistance even further?

If you get the evga 1300 watt psu's they come with an adapter piece that switches the PSU on. Only PSU i've ever seen that included this and it looks like a well built power supply. I can't wait to hook them all up on tuesday!
I think so too...only PSU with such a feature. My 850 evga g2 came with one, I think they might be putting them in all their g2 line now
