Nothing can be done by peaceful protestation, nothing can change like that. Please Europeans grow the balls to oppose the globalists agenda!

And then there was a guy named Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.. and then there was the nation of India that gained independence by driving out the most powerful colonial empire - without engaging in full-scale violence or going to war.

Oh please are you kidding?

Here: http://theconversation.com/the-forgotten-violence-that-helped-india-break-free-from-colonial-rule-57904

Small story short: Indian independance was NOT PEACEFUL. Gandhi was peaceful. His movement was peaceful. Saying he freed Indian alone is denying the hundreds of thousands who fought and died trying to get rid of the British. Gandhi was just the very last step of a long walk, and this step was peaceful. But the whole walk was soaked in blood...

Religion does not solve anything, it just takes away your money and your time.  It makes you emotionally dependent on it and blinds you so that you cannot see the world the way it really is.

What doesn't?

That's not a real argument here. All distractions, education... Human activities in general do that. It's just that it fits your moral code and your views of society but why should your point of view be superior to others?

Some people use science to improve mandkind, others to create horrible products they can sell for their own sakes. Some people use religion to get power and abuse the weaks, other as a path to make humanity grow.

L'Abbé Pierre is a French Resistant who created one of the best association completely devoted to the poors, and he did all that because of the stupid religion that doesn't solve anything...

Religion is a path and it's up to you on how you walk it.

Why is it that when a Muslim goes on rampage it's all "He's not real muslim" or "that's not Islam" but when a Christian does something bad everyone forget all the positive things Christianity has brought to us?

Democratic rule does not prevent tyranny it is not exempt from injustice and immorally. Review the history of Athens if you want to understand this better.

Even far from it!

There is no way to prevent tyranny in a group of different individuals in my experience. Whatever the group and its members, whatever the system, there will always a time where a large majority will say "we do this" ignoring de facto a minority who will get imposed something they don't want.

Democracy is a beautiful word but hiding a complex submissive/dominant reality. People are uprising when you say that democracy isn't perfect and isn't moraly good, that it's just an organization system that has its flaws...

I would say that democracy is a bit better over complete dictatorship but there must be even better forms of organization keeping more freedom directly in the hands of the people.
591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NRA conspires with Russians to help elect Donald J. Trump on: December 11, 2018, 10:57:24 AM
whats your problem? american institutions also are trying to achieve their interest abroad, why can't russians do that as well.

I don't know if that's a very good point...

Seems to me that tons of Trump supporters play a lot the "OTheR peOPle dO it TOo" card no?
I mean whenever you state a fact and criticize their grand leader on something they'll go "yeah but Obama did it too" or "would Clinton have been better" or even "so you support Hitlery right?".

Like common can we discuss the actual reality without having to explain how we evenly dislike all people being corrupted and abusing their power?

Thanks...

I don't understand the trouble here... Probably cause I'm new though  Grin

The only restrictions I see as being a newbie are about span time between posts or PM or whatever. That's a bit annoying but it's not DRAMATIC. It's not really important if it takes 3 years for me to go full member. Though it would hurt my pride a bit I guess...

So if the problem is with signature campaigns... Just limit signature campaigns to full member or senior members or whatever is needed.

I don't see what harm it could do. Less spam, less trouble and higher rates for the campaigns cause scarcity = higher prices.

Everyone wins.
Except for the abusers of course.
593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Request For Help From P&S Regulars/P&S Meta Thread on: December 11, 2018, 10:06:38 AM
Hey!

As a newbie around here I'll try to do my best on this board  Cheesy

But I'd like to know, should off topicness be reported?
Problem for me is that when going into political debate, if you manage to do something a bit constructive, that should more or less look like a battle of arguments. Each argument being potentially supported or challenged by others... Each of those others by again others...

Like for example on the thread I oppened on the subject of banlifting of weapons possession in Europe, someone answered about the 3d printing of weapons and someone about the American constitution. Each of those arguments could lead to international copyright or internet censorship or electoral systems... While still being LINKED to the topic but by a far far faaaaaaaaaaaaaar extend.

So is off-topic something even possible on the P&S board? Is it something you should report?
594  Other / Politics & Society / Is banning weapons such a good thing? on: December 10, 2018, 09:40:50 PM
Considering the current events I'm beginning to question the ban of weapons in the population...
I'm not talking about a country where there are weapons and you ban them, cause that doesn't work (bad guys don't just hand out their weapons) but about a country where weapons are banned and could be unbanned.

Here are the pros and cons I see in a country with ban on weapons:

-Pros
  • Lower murder rate because knife are less deadly
  • Less or even no mass shootings and no accidents like "4 year old killed brother playing with dad weapon"
  • Less police kills because policemen don't have to be paranoid as 99% of criminals don't have guns

-Cons
  • You're completely at the mercy of your government. You can't do anything against it as angry as you can be
  • You have to rely solely on state police, which can be great but only if it's efficient

Problem to me is that the submissive state of the population is really a huge red flag. When I see how powerless European citizens are currently...
When you got riots government just increase number of policemen...

Would you support freedom of weapons trade in a European country without weapons? Considering freedom of trade doesn't mean without huge regulations of course.

Wahou!

Well played! But how the hell did you manage to find those accounts?
How did you noticed they have the same history?

Can't merit you but you should be !
596  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie time delay for reporting too? on: December 10, 2018, 04:58:21 PM
Maybe it's to avoid an army of Newbies spamming the report queue with fake reports?

Anyways, as soon as you get 16 activity, the delay goes down from 6 minutes to 1.2 minutes. So, just hold on a little bit.

Oh ok it drops fairly quickly! I didn't know but that's jsut that I didn't see the point of limiting reports contrary to posting that can leads to huge spamming

I think it's both a spam and DDOS preventative measure. I whitelisted you so see if that helps, but as above, as you get more activity the delay will go down.

Well thanks I'll see if that helps! I promise to use this whitelisting power for the greater good  Grin

EDIT: It works but still have a 90 seconds delay ^^
Anyway I'll still try to contribute how I can. Thanks a lot!
597  Other / Meta / Newbie time delay for reporting too? on: December 10, 2018, 04:45:34 PM
Hello,

So as a newbie I got lots of restriction on posting and all... Which is perfectly OK I think. Anyway I need time between each post or topic especially as I'm new around so I don't see how the 6 minutes delay between 2 posts or topic can be a problem. I guess there are also restrictions for messaging but as I don't know anyone here yet it's still not a problem  Cheesy

But the delay also works for reporting a post! Which is a bit of a shame because it means that I can only write something or report a post every 6 minutes...
Considering all that has been said on spam and all I thought I could help easily by reporting a few posts for spam or off-topic but it seems I'll have to chose between posting or reporting...

Is it a willing restriction to prevent reporting from newbies?

600  Other / Politics & Society / French stupid protestors refuse violence... Grow some balls! on: December 10, 2018, 03:44:13 PM
So as the "revolt" continues in Paris, the movement is no longer spreading as much as before with the "Gilets Jaunes"

For those who haven't followed, there are huge protests ongoing in whole France against current government, protests getting about 80% of population support. It started against a new set of taxes but spread out quickly as a global protest against how government is simply making banks richer.

Last week (1st December) there was huge amount of violence with 300 wounded on civilians and 200 wounded in the police. But this Saturday, after a week of bullshit propaganda and all the political leaders praising pacifism, we go back to the usual stats: 1000 arrests, 300 civilian wounded and 15 wounded on the police. The whole movement was about demonstrating calmly and not provoking the police...

It seems to me that the French have definitively lost their balls! What do they think? That 1789 was people demonstrating calmly singing "Louis XVI please be kind enough to give back the power? Pretty please?"

Nothing can be done by peaceful protestation, nothing can change like that. Please Europeans grow the balls to oppose the globalists agenda!
