581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Becomes of Gambling if Sport book is taken away. on: March 26, 2024, 12:46:00 PM
Just as the title stated, what do you think will becomes of gambling enirly if we wake up one morning to the news of global banning of football,  or a country ban it citizens from participating in football both as a game and also a sport.
Football is not the only sport we have in the world. While it may be popular in one country, it may not be in another. In a country like India, Cricket is like a national sport. You will have the majority of sports book talk about cricket. We also have places where horse racing is also more popular than football.

Quote
Do you think gambling/casinos will lose it popularity since chunk number of their clients are from sport bookies section?
Yes, of this happens in a country where football is their national sports. No if it happens in country where they have other sports more popular than football.
I understand your points but I think if it's a global scale then it would definitely reduce the activeness of many casino because football is the one sports that touches almost everywhere if not everywhere even. But people will still adjust because that's the number nature of humans but I believe many countries will be affected but for like countries like where the participation isn't that much then the effect would be also felt that much.
582  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🔥🔥 BC.GAME - CASINO AND SPORTSBOOK | $1,000 GIVEAWAY LIVE! 🔥🔥🔥 on: March 26, 2024, 12:38:16 PM
I'm making this post to get in contact with bc.game staff.

I have tried to contact support by email and live chat but its clear they have been instructed to not forward issues regarding deposits.

I intended to deposit 1 ETH to my bc.game deposit address. When issueing the withdrawal from Binance I mistakenly did it from the wrong page. I was on the BTC withdrawal page instead of ETH. As a result it send Bianance wrapped BTC to the bc.game ETH deposit address.

Please help!
That sucks, you should have checked first what you're sending from here and there. But, I've seen this case in some casinos and exchanges when a user has deposited a wrong crypto to another address. Some were able to fully recover it but it comes with a fee from that platform itself. I have no idea if this has happened in the past with bc.game but I guess it did. Since you've already contacted them through email, how long and since when did you sent them that email and query? It takes time so, please be patient and wait until one of their reps reply to you and you've already posted here, for sure a rep will see your post but you have to add additional info like your txid or userid for them to check it.
For now I think there is nothing you can actually do than to just wait because you were the one who made the silly mistake so he wil have to wait patiently but one thing is certain and that's a response in due time. Personally I have read and even seen most of this cases and alot of them were resolved and I think yours too can but still depends on the casino and how fast they can answer the problem. Atleast this would serve as a serious lesson for you to take correction from and be more extra careful to avoid such stupid mistakes .
583  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Will the Prices of Cooking Gas Ever come down in Nigeria on: March 24, 2024, 09:17:27 PM
The rising price of cooking Gas in Nigeria has affected Nigerians Even as many Nigeria homes are now resulting in alternative fuel source. FG have taken various steps to reduce the high cost of cooking gas in Nigeria, it is also important to Note that since cooking gas is imported using The United States Dollars,Same will continue to increase if the Nigeria Naira continue to devalue.
Well that's the result of everyone trying to exploit the changes for or to their advantage because I believe we as the citizens are also part contributors to this mess that is widely absorbing and eaten deep into the minds of most Nigerians . I remember very well that the price of cooking gas isn't the only thing that has gone up that has still refused to drop, there  are the different things that have gone up but have failed to go back to it's normal price and I also feel another reason for this , is because the country lacks poor agency that's responsible for price control value and figure in the country.

Hy everyone , I'm new to  this community and I'm excited to be here . I have been going through the Bitcoin talk discussion for some times now .I hope to learn from this forum to improve my knowledge and experience in Bitcoin and also contribute my  little ideas here too.
Welcome to the forum mate and if it's learning then I think you are on the right place because I reckon Bitcointalk is the overall number one community that deals and communicate  with almost if not all the importance of issues that's concerning Bitcoin. We all started like you and the one thing to note in this your journey is to always be open minded and open yourself to all the things that would help you grow on knowledge about Bitcoin and so many other area's that's if you don't want to limit yourself.
585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: End Goal or Keep HODLing? on: March 24, 2024, 08:32:40 PM
I wouldn't have said this but I am much more concerned about the fact that we have been hearing so many people talking about holding Bitcoin for the long term and never selling. I find it so confusing that after investing so much in Bitcoin for years we won't want to sell our bitcoin till we die.

I've been buying Bitcoin since last year when it dipped in December i know it's not long. Since then I have held my bitcoin firmly regardless of the price increase this year I still decided to sit on it. Although I do not have enough Bitcoin because I have little money then if I were to sell my holdings now I would have 3 times of I invested.

Also, I have the belief that Bitcoin will keep breaking new ATH forever. Should I leave my Bitcoin forever without selling it or set a goal that I have in mind and when it reaches that goal I sell and take my profits?

What do you do?

On what principles guide your actions in the realm of Bitcoin (BTC)?

Your thoughts on this is really funny, but it's still valid to some extent but I think you just have some things twisted up a little bit. Holding your coins isn't exactly fixed for everyone, because I believe you are the one to set the barrier to which is okay for you to actually sell the Bitcoin. Besides what's the essence of actually holding the coins in the first place ? I believe people do this for the huge profits that is possibly tied to it and besides how would save your coins till death, then why did you save ?
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always check the deposit address on: March 24, 2024, 08:12:52 PM
Not only to check the wallet address before deposit but also check the address we copy and paste is correct. The same thing also should be done when it comes to withdraw, double checking the address is always recommended because once transaction is done then it cant be reversed. For special case like personal things (receiving payment or loan), using personal wallet is better so we have full control of the wallet. Using deposit address in a casino is fine as long as the main purpose of taking the loan is to gamble but if we do not want to gamble then there is no good reason to use deposit address in casino to receive payment or taking a loan.
This copy paste error is something that has become a familiar thing in the crypto world especially when it comes related to sending out funds from different wallet because this is not only pin to collection of loan but the overall thing every crypto enthusiast should do is to know that he or she needs to double check the transaction he or she is about to make because like you said once a transaction is broadcast to the network, it's a one-way ticket and no going back.
587  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be very careful of third party account on: March 24, 2024, 07:27:55 PM
My country people, i dy greet ona inside this afternoon,  today I wan talk about one thing wey most of us know but we fit still fall victim if we no pay close attention to, and that thing na third party account during p2p transaction.

Even though most exchange dy even warn say make we no accept Payment from third party account, most people, once them see say the person don pay the money, them go just rush and release the asset, not knowing that them fit use a third party account use send the money wey fit put you for serious problem, if na through criminality Dem use gain access to that account them use send you money, so I suggest make we dy careful oo, especially when we dy transact p2p transaction.
This na one of the biggest lesson wey I learn from another person terrible experience and from then I don decide to hold on the lesson because if to say na me the matter happen to , Omo e for too pain me sef so like this ehn , anything involving third party ma hands no follow and I dey avoid am like snake because for ma eye na dem track person come arrest am for him house say him too dey connected to matter wey him no know anything about just because say the money was sent from the victim account to his through third party transaction for exchange.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How your feels? on: March 24, 2024, 07:19:18 PM
I want to know how it feels among those of you who gamble using altcoins or bitcoins, basically the crypto you are using today has increased significantly, we know that in 2022-2023 coins that are small are not so valuable, and how does it feel today? Is there a little regret or do you not care because the money you lose in gambling is a necessity for you, so you don't care about the crypto you have lost in gambling for the past two years?

When I decide to gamble then I know the money I bet will be lost. Gambling is not an investment. When I deposit $100 in Bitcoin in 2023 to gamble and I know right now it is $500, I have no regrets because at that time I was thinking about gambling. Do I have to wait 1 more year just for my $100 to become $500 then I will start gambling? I do not think so.

Of course it would be sad if I looked at my deposit history and I estimate that all my deposits in 2022-2023, all types of coins that I have purchased have increased 5-10x. But basically I do want to gamble. So it was my risk to get pleasure at that time.
I suppose you are kinda right though because it's not easy seeing your Bitcoin of value that was worth 100$ before now reflecting 500$ in value and then you telling yourself that the Money wasn't used for anything but gambling but at the playing the gambling you would have never thought that the Bitcoin would have skyrocket that high and beside you were not planning on saving but instead playing and risking the coins on games so it's still count as money well used despite the fact that you might have lost everything.
589  Other / Meta / Re: Is the Merit circulation on a downtrend yet Bitcoin is on an uptrend? on: March 23, 2024, 09:55:02 PM
I believe that the only solution we may have is to vote for some new merit sources on this forum, in fact I believe the forum needs some new merit sources. I have personally supported @Icopress's merit source application and I believe new merit sources like Icopress could support those posts with some merits. I hope that Theymos should consider appointing new merit sources to help those unmerited posts to get some deserving merits.
The forum users do not vote for merit sources, reputable users apply to be merit sources and Theymos picks from the applications in the pipeline, when he feels there is a need to add new MS to the forum. There are quite a lot of good users who have applied to be MS's and they have been waiting for a long now, but nothing doing from Theymos and i can't really say why; many of them deserve the "job" and they would greatly improve the merit system.
The thing about theymos is that the man is filled with surprises and from the little time I have spent here in this community I have to notice that theymos always give in the needs or want of some  requests here only when he deem it necessary so I think he is still in slumber mode or maybe drinking a cup of tea over the scarcity and also the multiple line of merits source applications waiting on his approval.

I believe the skeptical chymist is the right person to ring when it comes to issues of requests and granting approvals, he can better explain 😉 theymos nearly made him cry when he constantly requests merit refill and increase from the man  Grin  Grin
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 23, 2024, 09:45:30 PM
I doubt it will be possible for anyone to have real fun losing money unless the money is not important to the person or he is Santa Cruz. when a gambler loses his hard earned money to gambling, he will not be so happen that period even though the money is small. On the other hand, winning makes every gambler happy and proud and that is what I think should be fun.
So if I'm to understand you correctly, are you trying to say that fun in gambling is only when a person gambles and wins, and not when he loses? Is that what you meant? Because if that's actually what you meant, then it equally means you are just only having a one-sided point of view about what fun is all about, because to me, I think having fun in gambling starts from the mindset, that is, having a kind of mindset whereby if you win a game or loses it, you won't get disturb, simply because you already knew it was a 50/50 chance, and yet you went into it with an amount you can always afford to lose, rather than going in with all your capital and then blaming gambling when you lose it all.

That's a really abstract way to think about gambling because gambling is something that is carried out with the taught that you are going to lose just like you stated it, its a two way actions and you saying that gambling is only fun when people gamble and wins is just saying that gambling is business restricted because I believe that only gamblers that take the act for money making usually have this sort of mentalities.
591  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be careful of cheap scam on: March 23, 2024, 09:35:03 PM
Omor e no get wattin person no go hear for this country about scam, now see wattin people don dey do, them dey go as far as tracking your wallet so that them go use your own wallet address take get you down. Omor na WA oo. So person no go fit just do em business they go like that, anyway Sha we already don know say this crypto network na soso scammers and hackers naim full so at every point in time we suppose to dey careful especially when we wan do transactions. Any money wey you send go, e don go be that, so na you go know how you wan take, take this security consciousness matter.
Omo no too reason am oo because even as Nigerian dey popularized scam and dey promote yahoo globally when dem count countries or places wey dey scam Nigeria no go even fit come out because other countries no dey too publicize their scam especially for those countries wey we dey even think say all these things no dey happen.

But that been said, me sef dey wonder how people still dey possibly fall for all these scams dem sef.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your take? on: March 23, 2024, 03:45:45 PM
My topic is based on those who are majorly into sports betting, we know in this aspect of gambling it is very risky to predict the outcome of any game from both teams to score, over and under, straight win and many more. Most times we bet on the big teams to win and the reverse becomes the result, either the small teams securing the win or ending in a draw.

Straight to the point most people are afraid of compiling big odds and now decide to go for lower odds with huge staking power which is not even guaranteed to give the predicted results. For example, there could be a match between Newcastle VS Tottenham Hotspur and both teams are having 1.5 and 1.3 odds respectively, a gambler may decide to bet only on Tottenham to straight win by only selecting this one game on his slip, what is your take on this kind of gambling, risking bigger money on some low odds with a small potential win and still the possibility of your pick to win is not even certain.

I think that's the whole system and it's designed that way and the crazy thing is that when you tend to bet with high staking power with lesser odds and the game don't go the way you planned the effect on the gambler then to be more destructive and that's a typical example of gambling for money because if you were actually planning for fun the fear of odds won't be a thing with you because you can boldly pick any odds as there is no guarantee to the winning and also the money used for staking it will be very small to avoid any heartbreaks.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 23, 2024, 03:36:37 PM
I am just wondering if anyone here have ever been in a similar situation before? That is, gambling until you are completely broke with nothing to fall back on?
No money in the bank, no cash in the hand, what did you do?

Or maybe gambled until you are one bet away from going broke (if you lose), do you go ahead and risk the money, or cancel the bet and  keep that money for something more important?
It has happened to me before several times which means I was addicted. If it happens just ones and the person learn his lesson and stop the stupid gambling habit, he is not addicted. But if he continues, it means he is an addict. It is possible that his close friends borrowed him money already or they know he is using his money to gamble and not want to borrow him money. Only the money that I can be able to give the guy as a friend that I can borrow him because likely he may not pay back or take longer time to pay back.

The funny thing is that I also had a friend who was fucking addicted to the point of going to collect money from different persons and using it to gamble and one of us who knows he was fucking addicted would always take advantage of it by telling him to borrow from him with a collateral of his property attached and when I asked him why he said he wants to teach him on how far he could damage himself through the act and you believe where you ended up? He fucking sold or should I say loaned everything to this my friend and it was not until the last minute we had to tell him to his face and he realized the crazy thing he has been doing without thinking.
594  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I invest to BTC? on: March 22, 2024, 09:49:25 PM
I am a small investor. I have some money to invest. How can I invest this money?
Since you are a newbie, you can use Binance to buy your bitcoin. Download Binance app from the official website, and register your account, providing them the information they want for KYC. Once you are done with that, you use p2p on the exchange to buy bitcoin where you pay with your local currency.

You should also create a noncustodial wallet in which after buying your bitcoin from Binance, you transfer it to your private wallet, where only you have the private keys. Don't leave your coins in an exchange. Investing in bitcoin should be done in a long term.

You can download electrum wallet from this link https://electrum.org/

You might have an option.. Blue wallet is good too. https://bluewallet.io/
Binance is probably the most recognize CEX that's fully functional in almost everywhere around the world but unfortunately there is a now a restriction with Nigerians users in the case of P2P trading, taught I should point this out although am not specific on your current country but with the write am thinking you are a fellow country man and if am right then binance is totally not a source to get or buy Bitcoin in our country but if am wrong of the location  binance is a good exchange to buy and for moving out of the coin.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your worst nightmare in a casino? on: March 22, 2024, 09:43:09 PM
I’m talking about the potential problem that you might encounter in the casino. Personally,  My worst nightmare that I don’t want to happened to me is when I hit huge jackpot while the casino investigate my account ask documents that will support my financial capability on gambling.

I’m only reading this issue on scam accusation but this is painful if happened to me like hitting max multiplier on slot games that result to 50K profit. Can’t imagine finally hitting my dream multiplier then casino seize my profit. This is just an abstract discussion so we are not really assuming that casino will do this especially the reputable casino.
This would be one crazy feeling and I would definitely don't want to experience anything such thing or issues with any casino and the worse part of the whole thing would that at the end after all the whole deliberation you were still not credited the funds.

Sometimes I also see these complaints on the scam accusations board and I would say to myself, what if I were the one having this problem? Because of all these things, I have made it upon myself to always check the TOS and also check all available and needed stats about a particular casino before I engage my gambling on them just to avoid unnecessary situations.
596  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: March 22, 2024, 09:35:59 PM
Ive been hearing about situations where someone buys a coin for a certain rate and not quite long after,  the said coin drops in value, or  someone sells his coin for a certain rate and then it appreciates just after.
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?
I don't know about you but I believe that's a very bad approach to actually securing profits in the crypto market and that's the mistakes that many people do. You buying a coin and then watching it price in the charts always is a very crazy thing because your mind would be skipping every time and you might fear out and sell the coins at the wrong time. I believe on buying and setting a fix price or goal at which you would like to sell, this will reduce the stress of constant check on the price of the coin.
597  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Now dollar is #1,400/Naira. Will the prices of food items and commodity reduce? on: March 22, 2024, 09:24:08 PM
I Thank God o. My question is very simple though because this country is complicated already;
* Now that the dollar to Naira exchange rate is about #1,400 /dollar, will the prices of food items and other commodities reduce?

Or is it that what goes up never comes down?
The problem is that Nigeria is unpredictable which mean that you may never know the next move that will take place. In previous cases dollar increased, also do the the price of goods and services, but dollar fell and price of commodity never reduced. So it hard to say. But I know that there will be a small dip in price of commodities
But it may never go back to previous price before the increase in price of dollars.

Nigeria is like space that lacks gravity because nothing that goes up ever comes down and by this I mean the price of commodities. This has been a problem and it's a problem that have been going on for some time now even before the past two administrations that have ruled the country. In Nigeria almost everyone is an opportunist and that's why when they say the problem of the country is all shared among everyone in the country because I believe the citizens themselves are one of the major causes of price never wanting to go down.
598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: March 22, 2024, 09:14:57 PM
Hi community,

I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?
With this your concept that is why I always emphasize on that gambling is something we learn from childhood and the nobody transfer the knowledge of gambling to us or teach anybody gambling so that is why I always say that whoever that is gambling nose what is doing because it is started from when it was a child not now for them to start betting when there are in school I think about they have knows the rules because they started initially when there are small to play Gamble so I don't blame anyone for that but I will tell you that you should not take this as a good story for yourself, because gambling is not something someone have to be proud of
I believe there is a lot of truth to what you are saying. Gambling is widely regarded as an illicit issue, and it is not commonly taught in schools or at home. So it's not surprising that people have misconceptions about it. And, yes, many people begin gambling at an early age, which can lead to problems later in life. Which is why I believe that more efforts should be made to ensure that people have the right mentality about gambling, particularly young people who are always inquisitive and eager to learn about things, especially those that they are taught are beyond their jurisdiction.
An early exposure to gambling is always dreadful to the person because there are so many do and don't that he or she will fail to abide with. The basic concept that every young gambler goes with is the taught that they can make good profits through then gambling but I believe that's the whole twist to the taught because with such mentality about gambling, one could end up being useless as he will always running and chasing after lost winning because do the lack of orientation.
599  Economy / Gambling / Re: Share trusted VPN Friendly crypto casinos on: March 21, 2024, 10:35:02 PM
I'm not sure about that, sometimes third party providers are blocking locations with no reason while the casino using them allow people from this location to fully register and play there, that's boring and unfair for those customers, so using VPNs let them circumvent those illegitimate restrictions from faddy providers. I'm not aware of a reputed casino having banned or even warned a customer doing that.
I have to disagree. Casinos have to comply with their game providers' own terms and have to enforce those terms on their customers.
If a game provider prohibits players from a certain country from playing some of their games then using a VPN to circumvent this restriction is automatically a breach of the casino's rules and you may get banned because of it.
If you read casinos ToS, you will see that they state which countries are prohibited from using all their services alongside with countries prohibited from playing certain games according to game providers terms.
I have seen cases of such restrictions and banned happening and some of them is really crazy because the user actually have won some significant amount of money and only to be restricted of their withdrawal because the casino found out that the user is violating the TOS of the casino so it's definitely not advisable at all to try it but although not all casino are against the use of VPN although I don't know about the particular location in which the VPN user might use that allows them free access to the casino without being punished.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is AI going to affect gambling in any way ? on: March 21, 2024, 10:27:51 PM
AI has impacted almost all online businesses to major extent. Do you feel that there will be major impact of AI technology on online gambling industry as well ?
AI has a limit to what they can do, and it's not all games that they can predict; there are games for which even the casino owners don't know what the result will look like. Those games whose numbers are randomly generated can't be predicted by AI because the result can't be known; it's just a game of luck.

But when it comes to those games that can be mathematically solved, then AI's might perform very well in that area, and any casino that they deploy to operate will suffer a heavy exploit during that period unless they take quick action.

Just as humans can't always be correct with their predictions, AI's will also make mistakes sometimes, and the person who deploys them will lose money too. But if they are perfectly programmed for gambling, then yes, there will be a negative effect on the casino.
And you think the owners of these casino won't also make it difficult for gamblers to use AI to get the winnings ? Because I believe that their business would slowly crumble if AI  was to be able to bring gambling closer to the edge of making beautiful winnings. For me the casino owners might probably alternate to the scrambling of such games that gives the AI an edge because I believe the casino is actually a business and the only wey they make profits is when the customer lose out them.
