581  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Common misconceptions about cryptocurrency (Bitcoin) on: March 03, 2024, 10:41:57 AM
Sorry to say this, I don't really understand why newbies like to teach when they should be learning this is one big mistake I never did. instead of saying things and then it will turn out that I was very wrong I will rather remain silent and learn the basics before trying to contribute.

I suggest you should also consider that.
From your perception your absolutely correct with your led down misconception about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrencies (including shitcoins) at large but believe me as time goes on you will then to find out that you where wrong in some point. Although you're making good points too but for me I think it's not time to teach rather you should spend more of you time visiting the learnmeabitcoin.com website https://learnmeabitcoin.com/ to have background knowledge of Bitcoin including the technical related knowledge of Bitcoin.

Maybe because they also want to get fast merit for their thread created? Usually they do this just because they think that there are so many people will give a merit to a thread created. But they forget to know that they should be more informative and also the words they posted is accurate so that people will not get confused on what they are trying to write here. Its good that there are people correct him regarding on misconceptions in mind and for sure he learn something from the thread he created.

Newbie should learn first before they try to teach other so that they can share more valuable information and not those misleading one.

When I said the above I knew what it meant for someone to share valuable informations in the forum, even if one want to grab merits it's better done in a way that its worth meriting not just teaching without clue of what you're really teaching or maybe you read some article and decided to reframe and post forgetting that the forum has lasted over decades and almost all the articles where inspired from good/quality informations in the forum.

So I just decided to let the OP know about this in order to up his game before he would post again but i mean harm or I wasn't tryna criticize him but some people like the below took it as an attack.

Mate quite saying shit, just because you've got a full member account doesn't mean you know shit even tho it's a sign you've been here long enough, I hate seeing post like this, instead of saying this rubbish actually contribute if you claim to know than been a critic, he is a newbie doesn't mean he doesn't know anything, if there is something wrong with the post show seniority by correcting.

I decide to over look such response because I was confident of what I was saying. This kind of people are the people who go to meta to scream that other high ranked members attacks them or bully them, I once discussed such thing with pmalek and he made so many corrections yet this members don't really get the information.

I think one big force that drives this kind of response is the fact that I'm also a newbie in the crypto space like him, well to teamsherry I'm not in position to argue with you because I believe I'm one of the youngest people in this forum with age, so you might be far older than I am, so I can't argue with an elder.
582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DID you get portal airdrop? on: March 03, 2024, 09:11:34 AM
This is my very first time of hearing about this airdrop, and I can see that many made profits from doing social media tasks it's quit interesting though.

Maybe this because I have been out of the social media (x) for some time now, based on my health issues. I would have love to be part of this huge airdrops, I keep asking like ho do you guys airdrop hunters know about this airdrops, it quiet amazing.
583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you still Invest in the potential heartbreakingly AltCoins? on: March 03, 2024, 09:03:00 AM
The truth is in the altcoins you are probably going to meet a coin that can reward you massively, that's one major reason people invest in them but the difference is that we only invest (gamble) with what we can afford to lose, so at that we don't long bother whether it works or not but at least out of 10 Altcoins one should at least cover the expenses of the rest and so on.

But mind you, give financial advise is not my thing because if the person fails in anyway it turns out that you will be blamed for that and can even brake relationships so I don't attempt.
584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Acquired knowledge from cryptocurrency indulgence on: March 03, 2024, 08:56:29 AM
There are many projects in crypto not all projects work in the same way and there are many fraud traps, so investors need to proceed with caution. Bitcoin is one of the best projects in crypto. There is no rigging in it and holding the investor for the right time creates opportunities for every investor. No risk for new investors both will earn good profit from here. Bitcoin is the best project I have ever seen.
Bitcoin is a paradigm itself that brought about every other coin, and it has proven itself several times so I don't longer consider it as a project to be mentioned in this kind of situation.

Maybe we can talk of Ethereum as an altcoin that has also done very well after Bitcoin, I think it's best fit for example here in the altcoin discussion.

Yes it's true that with the current rate of pump and dump coins in the crypto space has made alot of investors to be more cautious when gambling with their money in the cryptocurrencies.
585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your expectations on ICE Network in the future? on: March 03, 2024, 08:41:58 AM
I find it quite interesting seeing ICE Network trend on Twitter for several days. This is good for a new token even though we know they still have a long way to go. But I feel it could be as good as Pi Network that have made the early miners gain some good cash especially those who are able to sell early.

Edited out
Obviously it is a hyped project and such hypes is good for altcoins. I do not know how it will end but there is no need to panic. It was gotten free so no one will cry of being scammed or cheated when if the hype fails to lead to the expected profits. Those who will be able to sell very fast will still make some money because with this hype, there is no way ICE will not be listed in exchanges. I don't follow their development so I cannot tell how far they have gone with the project, my attention was drawn to it when I saw it trending on Twitter.
Exactly what I'm saying, it will only be nice for those who will sell immediately because if held hoping for it to rise or go other wise it's probably going disappoint.

But i wish everyone who is going to hold or grab the airdrop Goodluck, I wish I could be like the uniswap airdrop that made some people millions in my local currency, but it's rare to see such airdrops nowadays.
586  Other / Meta / Re: Is the forum running slow? on: March 03, 2024, 08:30:32 AM
Its now a very regular experience with me.

when I open threads for some minutes may reading through it or trying to type, within that time if you want to post it appears and then I have to refresh the page or click the post button several times before it can finally go through.

Maybe that is what theymos has been working for some time now as a result of the increase in users of the forum.
587  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [WARNING] Fake Sparrow Wallet app on the Apple app store on: March 03, 2024, 08:17:24 AM
I also have a little question; is it possible that since he installed it already that there could be malwares monitoring his phone?

If he did not start the app then the chances of a malware infection are near zero.
Unfortunately he did start the app but never imported any wallet into nor even create a new one.

Fortunately, he got a new device that I'm guiding him to set up a cold storage wallet in it.
588  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Do not overwork yourself on: March 03, 2024, 04:42:48 AM
Long time ago I saw an old man hawking on the road, I felt so bad although my the journey, a trip I was supposed to be happy because I was going to explore places but I never felt happy after seeing this old man. then my mentor noticed how I felt and what he told me took the best part of me and I can't ever forget that. he said, boy.... you see him, if you don't kill the pleasures of your youth days and make it life, you will probably hawk same way.

So, from that day I prefer to work harder than my age, my time etc life is better at your youthful age and you must use that time of your life to work so hard in order for you never to suffer.

what I'm saying essence is you can skip sleep today but it will never kill you. you better work harder than yourself now than do at old age.
589  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: My idea on business strategy on: March 03, 2024, 04:28:22 AM
Perhaps you're very correct with your points that must be considered in order for a business to grow but basically from my perspective there are lots more to put into consideration to achieve success in ones area of business. Just as you mentioned {SIGHT} it's one of the major reasons some business falls, how can one be selling car part in a food market isn't that so improper? I'm considering sight for some people like me who like to go into importation and exportation of cars and its spare parts. if you wish to succeed in such business you must consider a mechanic shop, or it's best situated in a mechanical area because this are the set of people that can patronize you. Etc so it applies to every business.

There are lot more to discuss but it can't be over- exagggerated
590  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does power really corrupt? on: March 03, 2024, 04:01:15 AM
When it comes to power we have to determine what power really is or what exactly are the powers going to do. mostly the power which leads to corruption is the political power. because it has to do with making decisions for the destruction of goods and services of the state and as a result people who are selfish in nature tends to exploit this little opportunity to create more wealth for themselves.

If not for political power many people would have not been recognized even with the money they have that is what we see people who are already rich trying to compete for a political power to create recognition and force around themselves and if this force is excessively granted then it turns man into a monster because of the inherit greed in our nature.
591  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Communication as part of life in the society on: March 03, 2024, 03:48:53 AM
Communication is plays a major role I. the society at large, infact if not for communication we wouldn't be here in the first plays and the so called reason this forum was even created was to bridge the communication gap internationally in order to bring the community united.

According to some philosophers and sociologists, where there is no communication there is no life, even in the animal world there is communication via the sounds they make. this just to prove how important communication is in everyone's life.

In the aspect of business communication is the deriving force of an entrepreneur, if he she lacks communication skills the business seems to shrink in less than no time. so in order to put things together communication must be in place.
592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why inflated countries should adopt Bitcoin to help boost their economy. on: March 03, 2024, 03:30:40 AM
Bitcoin honestly cannot handle a mainstream transaction volume. It will just jam the network and push the transaction fees to an an unacceptable level where the existing users will also suffer.
From my little knowledge I believe Bitcoin was never created to handle the mainstream transaction of a country, it was created as an alternative currency or payment method. it works Viz vice with the fiat of a nation.

there are little things that most be considered if it's going to be a country's standard payment method like goods that are worth less than a dollar etc. and it's transaction fee for such kind of goods. its probably not going to work in this current generation maybe another generation.
593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 2 Bitcoin Core wallet setup tutorial on: March 03, 2024, 03:10:44 AM
Sincerely I don't think there is any tutorial that exist with such description you've made, except you have to write them yourself after succeeding with this one.

I did a quick search to see if there exist a YouTube tutorial but I couldn't find one but here I found a post on Reddit[1] that has to be related but the truth is it has not enough details has you desired but I believe it could be a ground for your research.

I also think nc50lc could have a knowledge about this maybe if I mention him and he has solution then he would provide them manually because I believe there is no tutorial or written down format for it.

594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing at gambling on: March 03, 2024, 02:34:38 AM
When everything's going well, it's cool. But sometimes (often?) money problems lead to divorce. Suppose your spouse/husband gambles a lot, his or her loss/profit ratio is acceptable (so it's fine), but then one day he or she has bet it all and lost it all. You've got nothing left (and no savings either). What's your reaction? Has this ever happened to you?
For me I have never heard or seen anything close to such reaction of couples. But my question is, there anything like love in such relationship? Because if there is then I don't think anyone will divorce his partner because of huge loss in a gamble because before hand one should have already know that his or her partner is into a thing of risk that might lead to a bad reaction some day. .

Anyone going into gambling should be aware of the pros and cons of it before venturing into it and divorce could be one of the consequences.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you had this gambling experience? on: March 03, 2024, 02:14:57 AM
Its a very regular experience with gamblers. I especially had so many experience on that, some times ago I noticed that if I stake a good amount of money thinking that I will win big it turns out it doesn't work.

But when I'm not serious with it I just do whatever that comes into my head I win. so funny how I just decided that I will be at with some certain amount of money Incase I win, it will bring a little more profit than when I stake very low and then win, ever since that decision I haven't won but the day I did a little amount again I won.

From that experience I knew very well what people meant with the word gambling is solely a luck dependent game.
596  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving don't make wealth on: March 03, 2024, 01:59:15 AM
Firstly Bitcoin is also an investment but you could say if one has alot of profit from Bitcoin he or she could diversify but this rule only applies of only one has enough Bitcoin already in his portfolio before he or she could think of diversification.

Now there are various factors that could determine ones success so it's not only about savings, personally I believe what people call savings that might save you tomorrow is the emergency funds that we all know that it should be one of the first things to put into consideration before venturing into an investment and if your emergency funds or reserve funds is okay enough then you have no problem because it could save you from unforseen circumstances.

Lack of understanding of Investment makes most people make alot of wrong decision Investment.
597  Economy / Economics / Re: Reckless financial decision ? on: March 03, 2024, 01:40:58 AM
I guess I can relate to this this post, or maybe i have heard of that decision some where.

The truth is wey the public only heard a little of the whole case so we might just be thinking that it's all about his weed addiction or love for weed that lead him to make such decision but for me it could entail more than we would here. mind you I believe this artist's (musician) manager is his mother and before such decision could be reached they know what it would have cost them if he attended the concert.

To us it's a reckless decision that could worth a lot of funds in his financial life but he prefer to maintain his decision or reputation of weed lover not to accept an amount worth millions. Its really a decision that was supposed to be thought twice before making such, I mean million dollars isn't a chicken change that someone could through away just like that except just as I said it has alot that it entails than we can hear.
598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Try to stick to your instincts as a gambler on: March 02, 2024, 10:32:59 PM
For me some times I call my instincts my guardian because it helps me alot to make good decisions but sometimes I don't know when I get some stupid inspiration or ideas from because I make mistakes sometimes trying to follow my instincts mean while I should have just done what I wish to do but I do get something telling me not to. in regards to your own case it's not like your instincts was the correct one but it's just that it turn out to work in a way you didn't expect it.

On a serious note I think you should be happy that you didn't loss everything, I believe what is driving your regrets is greed. that you would have achieved more if you did it in a way but since you did then it seems like a bad decision while it was a good one because you didn't loss everything.
599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Acquired knowledge from cryptocurrency indulgence on: March 02, 2024, 08:45:05 PM
Just as you have said, some of us here don't enough knowledge as others in the forum and I'm one of those who have little experiences, I have not been long in the forum and this my firstly bull run to experience and I believe it will give me a lot of experience once it's over.

In the crypto space the paradigm Bitcoin has been the best experience some of us has in the forum but I'm yet to be amongst them.
600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quick profit is the only reason why we invest in Altcoins on: March 02, 2024, 07:35:57 AM
Some reason why most people invest in Altcoins can’t be far from the profit but we can’t say profit is all they see as to why they buy and use Altcoins, Bitcoin is not only being hold by those who want to use and keep it we store of value they are also being hold for long time in other to enjoy the profit that will come with it.

If we are to talk about the privacy their are also some Altcoins which are privacy coins like the monero it’s a good option for anyone who want to hide their privacy, another reason why other can invest in Altcoin is for cheap and fast transaction, look at what was happening in time of bitcoin network congestion the pressure was moving to Altcoins which where used for as alternative for transactions just as they are supposed to be Altcoin (alternative coins).
I totally agree with you, one reason why I have heard some alt like Monero is for a privacy based ground, I cherish privacy to an extent that I wouldn't like to anyone to know any of my steps and since monero provides me that I went for it.

No, it quite the truth that op speaks it it doesn't practically apply to every one, this Altcoins are alternative to bitcoin incase anyone wants to do something with a digital currency and hence he or she couldn't afford Bitcoin then alternatives will be the option.
