nah, I rather wait, unless you can enable SSL on another port if the problem is to persist for a while

The problem should be fixed now.
582  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace on: February 07, 2013, 09:23:00 AM
so am I affected

If you feel safe, you can use http://bitfunder.com

I just got word that the problem network has been identified, and that they are attempting to contact them to resolve it. It is not limited to just this one site.
My understanding is that if they do not get a resolution soon they will make routing changes.
583  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace on: February 07, 2013, 08:21:45 AM
The issue was originally routing through XO/Allegiance Telecom where they were blocking/breaking all HTTPS traffic.
I have a ticket open with one of the providers and they are working to isolate and correct it. HTTPS on BitFunder works fine.
A source in the middle is currently causing a connection refused.
584  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace on: February 07, 2013, 05:10:26 AM
I can no longer connect using a secure connection, is it just me or the site?

One of our upstream providers thought it would be funny to block all port 443 traffic passing through their network.
I just de-peered the network and things should resume.

I have enabled people to use http://bitfunder.com for the meantime.

Only a few people who happened to be routing through them will be affected.

evoorhees real world identity is well known, he's hardly trying to hide behind a hat and a mask if that's what you are trying to suggest.

Haven't you seen his forum avatar? Cheesy

Random suggestion:

Asset transfers currently only show up in the transaction history. I would like to see them in the My Assets -> Trade History section.
Could you create a yellow button for and place transfers into the Type column titled "transfer" and allow us to insert the Price Per ?

Wonderful idea, I will look into adding it in. Smiley
588  Economy / Services / Re: Proxy to order Dominos Pizza with BTC on: February 06, 2013, 05:35:45 AM
Thanks!

It took about 8 minutes for bitpay to notice my transaction payment and was starting to get a bit worried.
Then about 15min to get a confirmation.
Pizza was good, order was correct. Smiley

Good job! Smiley
589  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTCT.co] MPEx Pass-throughs on: February 06, 2013, 01:49:05 AM
There is a S.Dice passthrough already on BTCT.co, GSDPT. Exactly the same 5% fee as well.

I agree, doesn't make much sense.  BTCT seems to be the best exchange these days, hopefully the majority of assets will end up on it.

Why doesn't it make sense?

That's like saying "There's already a 1 MH/s fixed-rate bond on exchange X".

It's good for everyone other than the operator of the existing pass-through.  More fees for the exchange, potential profit for namworld and competition which usually helps investors.

The 5% fee may be the same - but they can compete on availabilty and pricing of the actual shares.  Only danger is that competition could increase the extent to which naked shares are sold - in an attempt to get market shares by taking risks and breaking their contracts.  DeadTerra has acknowledged that he's selling unbacked share with the plan to then cover them - something that has risk associated with it (if the price then rises sharply and he can't personally afford to cover the difference).  It's the only way he can realistically try to meet the demand with these new batches being sold - but is a potential disaster if something gos wrong (e,g, he loses his net connection for a few hours around the time the batch is released).

Actually, when speaking to him earlier, I think he said he only briefly thought he accidentally naked shorted. He did in fact have the shares to cover everything he sold for both sites. Smiley
590  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] GIPPT (closing down payback is under going) 86,4735299% paid. on: February 06, 2013, 12:16:13 AM
With the final payment of 197 BTC, my debt is now 0 BTC Smiley
My apologies that DeaDTerra has not finished the payout on Bitfunder yet for the last payment, but all of you should be fully reimbursed the next time he looks at his wallet.
Thanks for your patience.

Thanks! Smiley
I know he just went to sleep a few hours ago, so when he wakes up I will poke him to get it taken care of. Smiley

INAU +++ credibility.
I think people should +1 him on WoT. Smiley

Another 150 has been sent, and I owe less than 200 BTC now.

A true gentleman in this den of disappearing people.

Agreed, thank you INAU. Smiley

I spoke to Graet about this the other day,

He is currently deciding what to do on those shares since BTC went on the rise dropping the value of the shares which are tied to USD.
No one wants to take a loss. Wink That's part of the gamble with a PT. As it stands, he said he will just earn divs off of it unless the price goes back up.
There was another idea being debated that could help solve the problem as well, but that one takes time if implemented.

But with all this, he fully trusts Neotrix who has a great record, and to continue payouts, as do I.
I think Neotrix was kind enough to even do these assets and try to bring some realism to the world instead of just more mining assets.

Please put some more shares up at 0.44 Smiley

He has to wait for Mircea to manually approve a BTC deposit on MPEX.

I am glad to say that thanks to Usagi's help the reserves issue has now been corrected.

Only 3 people have incorrect reserves balances at the moment, and they are the per-asset reserve testers.

To be able to place more orders again, they will need to cancel orders below their current balance.

If these users have not opted to cancel the bids on their own within 3 days, I will cancel them starting with the highest costs until the are at or below balance.
596  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace on: February 03, 2013, 08:36:56 PM
When placing an order, currently it says "Trade complete", even when no trade happens. When an order is put onto the book, it should say something like "Order placed successfully", I keep seeing that "trade complete" message and saying to myself "oh, crap, I didn't want to sell at the current prices, what did my fat fingers do?"

Ahh, actually this is my fault because I had fixed this. But for only one type of trade.
It should say "Trade completed and/or posted!". Which I have put up now.

In the future I will have it display a box that tells you What was immediately purchased/sold, and what was posted.

Thanks for letting me know! Smiley

You should be good now Peter.

I am going to be adding a full range of debugs on the 3 places in the code where reserves are handled tonight to track it down easier.

Thanks Smiley
