581  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to get certain own topic deleted? on: June 02, 2018, 04:51:52 PM
its about this topic

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3254613.msg33895634#msg33895634

i created it in a drunken situation where i got angry about the negative side effects of the merit system.

(note i am a very deeply considering person)

Even by removing the topic, your negative trusts will remain unless the corresponding users remove it.

i have locked it how can i move it to the archive.
As i said before, take a look on the bottom of the page, left corner, click on "move topic" then select archival.
582  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to get certain own topic deleted? on: June 02, 2018, 04:33:43 PM
If it's not breaking the rules then no.

an own topic cannot be deleted?

which rules would have to be broken to get rid of that topic?

If it broke the rules then report it?
Or else move it to archival then delete the text and the title (bottom of the page then click on move topic)
583  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06-01] Huobi Expected to Enter Brazilian Cryptocurrency Market on: June 02, 2018, 02:23:01 PM
Well, it seems that they studied the market before entering it.
Quote
Brazil’s cryptocurrency user base appears to have grown considerably in just a few years, with Brazilians estimated to have moved approximately $2.4 billion in bitcoin during 2017 – a 1,400% increase from the $160 million estimated to have been moved by Brazilians in 2016.
Huobi is hiring currently two agents but this could be just a start to expand to other cities than Sao Paolo and maybe other South American countries.
584  Bitcoin / Press / Re: Buy cryptocurrencies now that it's cheap on: June 02, 2018, 01:58:24 PM
We have a form in the press section that you need to respect, so you have to read this sticky topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=246823.0 and edit your post accordingly (add the date to the title and add a link to the source of the information).
585  Other / Meta / Re: When does the "All" button show up? on: June 02, 2018, 01:42:11 PM
Now, I do not know the value for the x. May be theymos or any other member who noticed it before they will know.

I believe you can see "All" up to 25 pages then it disappears starting from the 26 or 27 page.
Not sure if the x is constant or not but that's what I noticed personally.
586  Other / Meta / Re: These boards require additional moderators on: June 01, 2018, 08:24:07 PM
I am willing to volunteer for any section. no strings attached.

Archival doesn't have any moderator Roll Eyes
Your comment to OGNasty in the other topic and this, lol digaran.

Back to the topic, our boss needs to discuss this with the staff, mprep (or any other mod) cannot alone (+/- global mod) moderate half of the forum (alternate cryptocurrencies), as i said before bounties alone needs its own mod...
587  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: June 01, 2018, 12:39:31 AM

588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2018-05-31] Tron Begins Transition to Its Own Blockchain on: June 01, 2018, 12:35:03 AM
June will be an interesting month and will have 2 important news on the crypto-world history for Tron and probably EOS.
I wonder personally know if this move will affect considerably the price or not.
589  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-31]Amazon’s Cloud Services Hijack Computers Using Crypto-Mining Malware on: June 01, 2018, 12:23:13 AM
As always, hackers using malwares to mine monero, especially.
I thought in the past what if I can use a third party server (aws or others) to mine cryptocurrencies but apart from considering it personally as a theft, it can easily be busted with the high cpu usage :

AWS has automatic systems in place that makes it easy to detect and block a lot of attacks before going out of their infrastructure. AWS has clear terms of usage that enables it to quickly take action and shut down the machine in case of any misuse.
590  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 24-Apr-2018] on: May 31, 2018, 05:55:53 PM
Just wanted to know how often is the thread updated?

Check the date in the changelog at the end of the table to get the information you want and remember that there is no need to update it daily if there isn't a new campaign/modification.
591  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 31, 2018, 06:04:48 AM
Can you maybe add the perks of being a copper member? Also, any plans for a Bronze, Silver, or Gold member with according prices?

For the moment there is nothing official but seeing those extra special ranks in the future, maybe with additional perks, may be possible.
592  Other / Meta / Re: Ukrainian local board on: May 30, 2018, 10:14:26 PM
Hi comrade, please lock your topic since it is a duplicate and forward your effort here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2316070.msg23513454#msg23513454
593  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-30] 80% of Top Cryptocurrency Exchanges From 2016 Have Been Replaced on: May 30, 2018, 03:03:51 PM
It is normal. I remember +20 years ago having compaq or IBM computers was an awesome things now they left their places to other ones.
For the exchanges many of it, especially the Chinese, were faking their traffic and trading volumes, many others were victims of hacks, so, at the end, it is normal to see such fast turn-over...
594  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BE AWARE OF BITMAIN SCAM PHONE CALLS on: May 30, 2018, 02:44:16 PM
The phone number appears to be our customer service number in China.

Huh! "appears to be" they are trolling people out there.
And no word was said about who is responsible for this scam and the punishment...
595  Other / Meta / Re: Demand for sig managers on: May 30, 2018, 01:08:43 PM
Someone active and trusted enough needs to create and keep "Overview of signature ads managers" up to date, which contains a list of managers (sorted alphabetically as lauda stated) + their previous works + their emails + link to their proper topic +/- their ratings (1-5 stars or novice-expert).
The managers then should post their application there + a link to their proper topics.

Edit :
I recommended something like thing a while ago to someone, but it hasn't seen the light of day yet. One of the problems with this is that a lot of people encounter very old/outdated lists of this, and semi-spammers link to these on demand as well.
Hope he will finish it soon.
I gave a quick solution above imo.

Edit 2 :
And QS has spoken too, good..
596  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: DavidHume - Tangerin ICO : scam accusation on: May 30, 2018, 12:57:29 PM
Hi, the topic doesn't fit in meta, it should be moved to the scam accusations sub (bottom of the page, left corner then "move topic" to the right section).

Edit :
Thank you for this remark. In old days there was a meta section for this kind of problems.
I am happy a new sub has been created.

Regards,
Arpetuos
You are welcome.
597  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-05-29] Prosecutors Sell 1,000 Bitcoin in Germany’s Largest Cybercrime Sale on: May 29, 2018, 08:19:45 PM
Nice article, it offers not only informations about the seized Bitcoin from an ebooks seller but it shows that the German authorities seized and sold hundreds of bitcoin + they are on hurry to sell not only Bitcoin but also btcash + btcgold... which happens to be the opposite of the bulgare authorities :

In Bulgaria, authorities are sitting on 213,519 Bitcoins, worth $1.5 billion. In November, NewsBTC reported that this would have been able to pay off a fifth of their national debt.
598  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 29, 2018, 08:07:57 PM
I tried to give a merit point to someone from my topic but couldn't find any button doing that. How can we make it happen?

Since you don't have any merit point then the button will not show up.
You need to receive 2 merit points in order to have 1 smerit to send to other people.
599  Other / Meta / Re: Timeline of Bitcointalk and Important Events of Bitcoin Journey on: May 29, 2018, 06:09:05 PM
I like your post, nice idea to simplify things for Bitcointalkers especially newbies. May the sources be with you Wink
And it may be interesting to see something about Bitcoin developers.
600  Bitcoin / Press / Re: New crypto-currency trading platform on: May 29, 2018, 03:19:28 PM

Please read this sticky topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=246823.0 and edit your post according to it.
Edit the title with the date + add a source.
