I wonder how much Apple paid Patrick to say that bullshit about Apple Pay being some great new thing. NFC has been around and functional for years. The only thing Apple can help bring to the world of payments is more centralized choke points for hackers to exploit.
If I recall correctly, the thumbprint scanner on the iPhone 5 was completely cracked within 24 hours of the phones release. You could take anybody's phone, even remotely, and bypass the scanner with a single click. For Patrick to say that it would stop somebody from accessing cloud data, or payment data, is just absurdly stupid.
I hope his bonus from Apple was worth it...
Patrick isnt much of a technology guy so he might be ill-informed. But i'm sure hes a cooperate guy who shills for big cooperations. Have you read his stuff or followed him, you would know. |

I graduated as lawyer one year ago too but cannot find a job as lawyer. Here if you don't have family or friends in that area it is very difficult to make on your own a legal career. So I have found a part time job but I hardly can survive. Especially since my daughter was born. I pay the rent of the room/house where I live, I pay bills, food to survive and have nothing more. italian wages for low rank jobs like mine are very low. I have a daughter since 1 year and half ago and that increased a lot my expenses. I have to ask money to my parents but they cannot always help me. My dad is ill and cannot work a lot. My girlfriend who is the mother of my daughter left me with the baby. She continued studying and she has a new boyfriend. Yes, I invested in btc in several steps and the last time in December 2013. Then again in January because I thought it was going to raise. I did not have much, only 9 and something btc, but they were the savings of years. Investing in btc I knew it was risky but I was trying to change life, since I had done it in April and October gaining something, I thought to do it again.
I don't want to beg money but if you believe my story and want to help me, if you maybe have a lot for yourself already, you can contact me, we can chat on skype, I have a Webcam in my laptop so you can see where I live with your eyes and you can see my beautiful little girl too, she is lovable. If you have even 0,01 btc or less you want to send me, I will be thankful, and my daughter too. I don't like to complain, but some days I keep myself rather hungry to give my daughter everything she needs. And she needs a lot. My part time job gives me only 600 euro and I have to pay everything with that. If you don't believe me or belive but don't want to help me, there is no problem. I know this is a troll post, but everything you just described good be applied to why would we use fiat when we can use bitcoin. There are plenty of reasons why bitcoin may be a better option, and I'm sure you're already aware of these.

hi, I invested a lot at the beginning of this year thinking bitcoin would have risen again as usual, I bought many btc when it was 830 and some after when it was 660. I waited for the pump but things are getting bad. I am wo4ried. I am 26 yo I am not rich and I invested a lot of my savings. I can live without, ok, but they were my savings. What should I do now? is this the end? Will bitcoin rise again at least until 830?

That's not exactly the same as buying something with Bitcoin. XAPO is basically like exchanging Bitcoin for fiat and paying with fiat. There are some airlines literally accepting Bitcoin though. Hopefully others will follow suit in the near future.
The advantage of using Xapo instead of dollars or dollar denominated cards is a) it can be competitive or even cheaper to use if purchasing outside a dollar denominated country b) you are still holding on to bitcoins in your "account" and will reap any reward from increase in fiat value of the bitcoin. Conversely you are exposed to adverse moves in the fiat price so this is for bitcoin bullls not bears.c) you are actively promoting bitcoin in order to eventually get to the stage where more merchants accept bitcoin directly and do not convert to fiat and hold those bitcoins as they would any other foreign currency of strength.. eg in Argentina dollars will not be converted to local currency with a 40% inflation rate but kept in dollars or dollar accounts. the big advantage for bitcoin in this case is that if currency controls are introduced where you cant move dollars out unless you smuggle them bitcooin can circumvent that problem with ease. + 1 most ppl here dont even know the fact is that its extremely difficult to have foreign currency bank account to apply for a CC in that currency. Bitcoin services like XAPO will solve this with ease. You now can buy airline tickets from another foreign domain! |
