581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 09, 2023, 06:50:55 AM
How about this for a daily parlay today…

Orlando Magic beating the Detroit Pistons
Brooklyn Nets beating the Washington Wizards
Minnesota Timberwolves beating the Memphis Grizzlies
Denver Nuggets beating the Houston Rockets
Dallas Mavericks beating the Portland Trail Blazers

Maybe also the…
Clippers beating the Jazz
Celtics beating the Knicks
… but I’m less confident over those two.

Man, the Denver Nuggets really screwed my parlay by dropping one to the Houston Rockets. They made a valiant comeback in the fourth but it wasn’t enough to make up for the massive deficit they found themselves in going into the last quarter. Luckily I bet the individual games too, but it would’ve been nice to hit a 7 game parlay.

Too bad, that could have made your day.... Sad Sad Sad

Actually, most of the favorites won and covered the spread today, so it's easy to pick, and probably many of us have won parlay bets today. Personally, I placed my bet on the Rockets since they have a good record of covering the handicap, but like yours, I also lost my parlay bet with the Raptors losing to the Hornets.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 09, 2023, 06:37:49 AM
Some people also think that the bookie's chances of winning are much greater than the bettor's, well I don't think so either.

I think it's a wrong perception to think that way, bookies aren't the house like a casino where they had games and you play against the house. Bookies more like a facilitator of our bets and bookmakers job are the making lines and odds that would attract even actions, but adjustments are always their as balancing is always the main goal.

Why balance the action? This is to ensure that bookies accept as maybe bets as they can so they can increase the juice they'll ba making.

For example, team A had +2.5 vs team B -2.5, both have odds of 1.90, so regardless on what team will win, bookies will always pocket 10% of the total bets from the winning bets.
583  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea and money are very important to investment. on: December 08, 2023, 09:30:52 PM
Both are of high essentials when it comes to entering an investment. However, I can see greater advantage if you have the funds ready to invest because not all are lucky enough to earn or save good amount of capital. Ideas can be well taught and learned while capital remains to be a big challenge for majority on how to save and come up with a sufficient amount for investment.

But for rich investors, obviously they have all the edge on that matter. The only problem is if they have gained the best ideas and concepts that will make any investment works.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I did it (I am happy to join). on: December 08, 2023, 08:48:33 PM
Great job OP. Finally, you have made your first step on reaching your goal, so just continue to buy and do DCA and you will see yourself riding the hype gaining massive profits when bull market happens. Don't be bothered by the market volatility, bitcoin price might dropped a little but it will recover eventually so you don't have to worry about it. Just don't be tempted to sell when you see bitcoin price surging, just sell when the market is finally bullish.

For now, study the market more and learn how to overcome the risks in bitcoin. That is only hard at the beginning but you will get used to it when you invest more and stay longer in the market.
585  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is not very easy; it took my friend a long time to understand. on: December 08, 2023, 07:58:26 PM
If you don't have prior knowledge and experience in trading, then you will really find it hard learning in trading and would definitely take years before you become a pro trader. But that is normal in trading, as majority learned it harder than the easier way. And most probably, if you learned trading the easier way, most likely you are still susceptible to a lot of losses so you need to experience more trading in the market.

Trading is skill driven, not luck driven. And certainly it's not the same with gambling. You need to exert a lot of hardwork and efforts before you can be successful with trading.

Can the Pacers complete the treble with the final win against Lakers ? I mean they've defeated two powerhouses from the East in consecutive games Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. Now, the final hurdle would be Lakers and Lebron, can the Indiana Pacers go all way ??

I'm more inclined that the Lakers would be the champion of this in-season tournament as they are a more experienced team than the Pacers though both have high morale right now but Lebron is a different beast when there is something on the line for him.

BTW, congrats on your win mate, will tail you on whose your bet to win the Finals.

I would agree with you on that, as they make the Pelicans look bad after the Pels beat the Kings with a good margin. LeBron and AD are back, and they're up against a young and hungry team, the Pacers. I think if Haliburton is limited, the Lakers will easily snatch the win. They have defensive specialists ready to give Haliburton a tough night, so I'm in for the Lakers.
Pacers have lots of young talent. They gave the Bucks a hell of a game tonight and IMO, if they can handle Milwaukee they can handle the Lakers. Young and hungry is what i see when I watch the Pacers play. I wouldn't count them out at all.
Haliburton is the key and there seem to be no stopping on this young superstar as he consistently bring his A game in his recent games especially against the tougher opponents.

Looking back at his numbers against the last 2 games.
Against Boston, he got a triple double with (26 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds)
With Bucks, he got a double-double with ( 27 points, and 15 assists).

Those are MVP numbers, his kid knows how to shine in big occation, so I guess I'll be with the Pacers here.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 08, 2023, 10:14:03 AM
It is something fun to watch the games and that's fine and it's great, and I just relax at home, open up a game, and reset my loaded mind. If I bet on it, the game becomes better too because I end up caring about the result even more and that benefits the experience as well. So all in all, it's because I combine two hobbies into one.

Definitely it should be the experience as that's what we should get when we consider sports betting as part of the entertainmnet in our lives. Though to be able to watch the game alone is already entertaining, however, adding bet on it would increase it's thrill and excitement, and that's the reason why sports betting has become more popular than the other games due to its unique and more transparent nature.
588  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: help me not to leave btc on: December 07, 2023, 09:51:35 PM
Just think of how other people's lives were changed because of bitcoin, that way you will continue to understand bitcoin and the crypto market and you will be patient more to wait for the perfect timing to buy and sell bitcoin. Of course, the motivation should also start within yourself and convince yourself that there is brighter future awaits for you with bitcoin.

However, leaving btc will only be a good choice if you think you are not ready to lose your funds. And just invest again when you have stable funds so that losses will never be an issue to you anymore.
589  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: December 07, 2023, 08:59:19 PM
I guess if traders know what trading can do to their lives, then they will be never get tired no matter how hard it is to win trades in the market. Instead, they will continue to improve their skills and strategies in trading so that there will be positive improvements in their trading career. And trading profits does not happen instantly, it needs hardwork and persistency in the trading market, and quitting would never be an option.

However, for those who are starting trading and  trading losses have become annoying, there are high chances that they will get tired from trading. But it also depends on their trading mindset. Some needs to see losing often because that will motivate them more to do more good in trading.
590  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: December 06, 2023, 09:25:22 PM
The problem with some of the young people today are their attitude ...and now I sound like my parents, when I was still young. These people seem to think the world owe them and not the other way around.

The majority of them want to start at the top and they think everyone can be an instant rich social media influencer.  Roll Eyes  They look up at these people as if they are some kind of superstar.

The "selfie" generation need to understand that hard work and self sacrifice are the building blocks for success. You can work hard and smart at the same time.... and you do not need to live on fast food to survive.

A lot of the rich kids that ended up on the street, never worked for the money that they splashed on parties and booze and drugs, it was inherited from their hard working parents.  Tongue
Most likely, these kind of attitudes have developed mostly because of the kind of environment they are exposed to. If they are always accompanied with happy go lucky people, surely they will never learn from them but only unlimited expenses until their finances sucks. This is how the scenario of the generation these days, but I'm not saying this in general as there are some few young adults who stay responsible on their actions and decisions.

This is the best time that parents should focus on their teens. Most likely if they fail to discipline them, the outcome will reflect on how their present lives are and on how they deal with their community and peers.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Tax Efficient With Your Gambling Habbits? on: December 06, 2023, 02:27:10 PM
I don't do this at all, and beside, I don't think we have an effective tax system here in my country, and as such, there is no one to come after you, if you report your gambling winnings or losses to the tax authorities; It's just between you and yourself.

Und even if our tax system is effective, it won't get to the gambling section, as the casinos are already paying heavily to the government to maintain their licence and their either annually or monthly tax payable, so gamblers will have little to worry about in regard to that.

But who will even want to give a penny back to their government in the form of tax for gambling winnings when they literally pay tax on all their expenses? At least gambling profits could be an exception.

I don't think anyone "enjoys" paying taxes, but people have different opinions and preferences regarding its importance and how fair it is to pay.

it's a common situation to see the government with not enough people to fiscalize tax payers and check what is being paid and what isn't.
many variables on this.

Who would love to pay taxes? If it weren't a crime not to pay taxes, then I doubt people would be diligent in filing their income tax returns. Every country has its own way of tax implementation; developed countries probably have more strict monitoring on tax compliance, so they are able to collect based on their expectations. In less developed and corrupt countries, the government may be lax in its implementation, resulting in a lower collection rate. However, the penalties, whether monetary or criminal, might still be the same if one is convicted. So, it's up to us, the people, to decide if we are willing to risk not paying our taxes.
592  Economy / Gambling / Re: what are the best crypto casinos! on: December 06, 2023, 01:29:43 PM
Sad to say thier casino thier rules so as a gambler even though we are not using cheats and when coincidence happened then one thing for sure our account will banned bat this is the bad thing cause the casino facilitator must observe and to an observation first before they do any actions to our accounts. But like what I said thier casino thier rules so we can't stop them if they gonna banned forever on the spot when they knew that 2 account will login in one IP address.

This "thier casino thier rules" thing is not a protection for them to cheat gamblers, they have a TOS, its very public and we gambler agrees with it once we sign up with a site, and as much as we honor that they should do the same. Always remember that a reputable gambling site would not cheat their gamblers, nor attempt to cheat as that one mistake that could ruin their reputation maybe a risk on them in not maintain their profitable operation, so they are very keen to that.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - February 2024 in Saudi Arabia on: December 06, 2023, 02:38:31 AM

I guess Fury didn't really take Ngannou too seriously. He was an MMA fighter and the history of those who crossed borders was more funny than entertaining. But he won that fight nevertheless. So he's not really facing Usyk with a lot of psychological or emotional baggage. If at all, he'd be more prepared now that his previous fight showed him danger because of being too lax.

I suspect that as well, now people thought after that performance of Fury that Usyk would easily beat him as he struggle to Ngannou. I tell you all, things will be different this time around, it's a unification fight, lots are at stake here and Fury winning this making him the greatest Heavyweight champion this current time, so I think we will see Fury perform better and Usyk will struggle finding his range against a taller and smarter Fury.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 06, 2023, 01:53:08 AM
The Sacramento Kings lost. Ouch! Moving on.

I like those picks @stadus, I think I am tailing that.

Over should be the easy bet, ... But we still have the 2nd half of the game, hopefully Bucks would be able to pull away with a big lead and bring us the "W"...As they say, no big lead is safe as anytime a team could have a big run and beat their opponent with the spreads, Bucks should be able to deliver that to us.

Halftime score. NYK 72 .. Bucks 75.

Bucks now are -4.5 with 1.90 odds. I think I'm taking this, as long as they win the 2nd half, they'll likely cover the spread. I trust Giannis in this game, he is very unstoppable but they have to do some great defense on Randle as he got 25 points already from perfect shooting. I think that was the key why Knicks were able to keep this close but it's expected he'll not continue his good shooting.
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $40k Price Target Achieved on: December 05, 2023, 09:52:27 PM
Finally, we are seeing the market now totally bullish and that makes me more exciting to buy additional bitcoin whenever the market gives us another opportunity to buy. This is a good time to invest and add more bitcoin investments, but when it comes to altcoins, I guess we can't expect the same outcome with bitcoin if we decide to take risk investing in altcoins. But of course, if you have extra money to take the risk, then why not?

With bitcoin, I am more optimistic that we will still new heights in the next days before this year ends. And it would be our best Christmas gift if we will see our bitcoin investments continue to soar high and becomes more valuable.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 05, 2023, 07:54:13 AM
we must also recognize that those that are struggling the most and are earning less money should be the ones making the smallest bets...

Actually they don't need to bet because of they are struggling, that means they have a problem financially and they could not afford to bet. What would happen if a person who's not making enough money and losses in gambling? Very simple, he'll struggle more and might have bigger problems because of gambling, we don't want to see that as gambling is suppose to be a fun activity, and if there are people who would like to try their skills if it will work, at least those people knows how to manage the risk, and it starts with their financial capability to gamble.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: December 05, 2023, 07:02:30 AM
Next game Kings vs Pelicans. Hoping for Pelicans to win.

I guess everyone was on the Kings side. This one also is 10 point victory but from the road team.

Wasn't able to watch this game but upon checking on the stats, I was surprise that CJ McCollum was on the list, he had 17 points this game and that added some extra offense on the team. Was it his first game after a long rest due to "lung injury"?

By the way, congrats, you're the only one who's on the other side.
598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will invest the money to buy the land in Bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 09:44:42 PM
When you establish a solid plan for your future, most likely success will easily come to you than those who have no solid plans from the start. So I want to compliment you for that OP. Now, that you are decided to invest in bitcoin at the beginning of the new year, then start educating yourself now about bitcoin. Be aware of the common risks, as much as be more open for losses than expect major gains, most especially that you are still a beginner in bitcoin.

Start your bitcoin investment with small amount at first. You still have a lot to learn with your investment and you might incur losses a lot before you can experience real profits. So always invest on your extra money that you are willing to lose if ever your investment will not work.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 02, 2023, 05:05:33 PM
Do you guys also follow a similar strategy like gambling with 1% or 2% on each game? This way not only we are safe from losing big amounts but at the same time, we never find ourselves in a situation where we go all in, in some bet and then have the fear of losing all of our money.

The first is to only use no more than 1% of monthly income, then continue by only playing 1% on each hand? This only applies if you have a large monthly income, what if people only earn no more than $1000 per month?

The calculation will be like this: $1000 X 0,01 = $10 | $10 ÷ 100 = $0,1

From the calculations above, where can I get at least some entertainment? it would be a boring game and a waste of time, it's better to do something else than have to apply that strategy Cheesy.

I usually read this kind of rule base on bankroll and not in monthly income. And actually 1% is too low if don't have a decent amount of bankroll, and you are right, we will be missing the entertainment here if we are gambling with an amount that we don't feel the thrill anymore.

$1000 is a good example as $10 (1% of it) is just too small to budget for one month in gambling, I wonder how are we gonna even pay the transaction fee of sending that money to crypto casinos, fee alone could already deduct like maybe 20% of that $10, so it doesn't make sense to me.

1% of monthly income for betting purposes is only applicable if you are making like $100,000 or more per month as $1,000 should be a reasonable budget.

but you forgot mentioning my all time favorite,  big game James is also with them and finally he played some minutes and made some 3's, I miss him a lot hopefully he will start playing back before the season ends. 😉

Missing him too; he was one of the stars I followed, especially during his time with Magnolia Hotshots before he was traded for Paul Lee. James Yap is already a veteran, and I'm glad he's still playing, even if the team doesn't fully utilize him. But, forget about that, what matters now is they had a big win, and perhaps this could be a turning point for them. Maybe they'll start winning consistently from here on?
