582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting on sports, which one to choose -110 or +110? on: December 30, 2023, 09:43:22 AM
This topic has arise because I'm wondering, what if we just bet +110 all the time and just get 50% win rate to be profitable.

Just think about this mate, if that is really a profitable strategy then why it's not even making a big sound as a famous doing in sports betting?

Simply, because "it's not working". Low odds doesn't guarantee an always profit.

When evaluating the success rate of your gambling venture, it does not based on the odds alone. -110 and +110, it's only 10% is the difference. Wagering on the winning picks is still the key. Most of the videos I saw, they don't talk much about the odds, but rather on how to pick a team with a reasonable odds.

Also in my own point of view, are you willing to bet a decent amount just to feel the profit at +110? It's more risky to me compare betting at underdogs which already expected that losing is more likely to happened but in return, a good profit.

I think we have a miscommunication here.

+110 is underdog, while -110 is for favorite dude.
583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New Trends Among Beginner Traders on: December 29, 2023, 09:58:37 PM
Beginner traders have different mindset these days. Instead of harnessing their potential knowledge and skills that will give them an edge in trading, they prefer to act more confident on the current position of their trading activity without thinking that if they fail to enhanced their trading abilities, they will never be successful in trading anymore.

The problem with beginner traders these days is they are mostly hesitant to positive changes and improvements. They feel that what they have is more than enough, that they can be sustainable enough in trading, but reality hits that if you lack the capabilities to trade, you will never be successful and profitable in your trades.

585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: December 29, 2023, 08:35:11 PM
There's no investment that guarantees pure profits, as losing is already part in any type of investment. Even in physical investments, sometimes you still have to lose for you to gain big in the process. However, there are times too that you invest and you make early success, that's also possible. But believe me, that is not going to happen consistently as there will really come a time when you experience losses in the most unexpected times. For you not to get hurt so badly or fall into disappointment, know that winning and losing at some point are part of the investment process, and one can never skip from it.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I dodge KYC using the his medium. on: December 29, 2023, 02:18:26 PM
Is it possible one can dodge KYC verification request after winning a big amount of money and decides not to withdraw a lump sum but bit by bit in smaller amounts. I have read many posts talking about how they wanted to withdraw the money they won but due to the amount they wanted to withdraw was big, they were asked  pass kyc verification because they never did when they first registered.

Requesting for KYC is not because of your big win, it's because of the withdrawal you're making request for, if you like, be making small withdrawals and if you also like, make the withdrawal at once, what is certain is that when they requested KYC from you and you're unable to make provision of it, you won't have access to make withdrawals, don't even think of dodging them by making false or incomplete provisions on what has been requested, else they may block your account.

Maybe you haven't notice that there are some complaints in the scam accusation before that their winning weren't release beause after a big win, the gambling site requires them a KYC. So this discussion came out because of real situation in the past, and I think OP is just trying to get some information because his account probably is not KYC complied, so in the event he'll win, at least he already know what to do in order for the casino not to trigger in requiring a user for KYC.

For us KYC is just basic, but for some it could be a problem for whatever reasons, so at least we have some options here.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 29, 2023, 12:41:04 PM
The "highlight" of the night was Detroit in Boston, almost getting the upset of the season after leading by 19 at halftime. But no surprise they fell apart in the 3rd and somehow got OT before falling for the 28th time in a row.

If they ended the streak in Boston, that would have been something and another funny story.
But lucky they didn't and the streak is alive.

Go on guys, keep making history.  Grin

Almost... but didn't happen. I had a feeling at the start of third quarter Pistons would lose this again. When Bogdanovic made the game go to overtime I thought maybe they have another chance but their overtime performance was terrible. It would've been an ironic win over Boston, which is unbeaten at home but the losing streak continues. They are not playing that badly but they still can't win. It has become a psychological thing. I think San Antonio is worse than them as a team, but even they have 5 wins.

That could have been the story fo the day if Detroit were able to beat the number 1 team in the East. They start strong, which is very rare to see since Boston are very dominant at home, but like other bad teams, they don't have the consistency and they would melt in the most important quarters.

I'm even surprise the game went to OT. Boston were good in defending the paint, but in that sequence, they allow an offensive rebound from Bogdan that brough the game to OT. But as soon as they were in OT, that's extra 5 minutes, so it's easy to tell who will win since Detroit already loss their energy.

Better luck next time for them!
588  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: December 28, 2023, 09:54:30 PM
I don't really have much to say as regards to this post. It is just an avenue to hear your thoughts on which is better to invest both time, energy and resources in, mostly for a season as this, where we are experiencing economic uncertainty and ill-timed government banking policies.

So, given that the resources are available or not and you are presented with the opportunity to start/grow or buy an existing business just like Elon Musk, which option is more preferential and benefitial to you?

While it's always an edge if you grow your own business out from a scratch, but if you have already the knowledge and skills to grow a business, then starting a new business or buying an old business does not matter at all. What's important is you know how to establish your brand and maintain competition with other nearby businesses. That's the only way where your business will boom and grow in time. Otherwise, if you rely on other people to grow your own business, you can never guarantee success from your own business.
589  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What will be your trading strategy for crypto in 2024? on: December 28, 2023, 08:44:22 PM
Investing in more altcoins means that you are sinking deeper into quicksand and there is no one to save you. Investing in altcoins is not a diversification of investments, but rather a multiplication of the opportunity to grow your investment portfolio. You can trade in altcoins, but long-term investment is a loss of your money.

Diversify investments by purchasing gold, stocks, real estate, Bitcoin, and anything that has a value and can gain upward growth.
It's not bad to invest in altcoins as long as you know the right coins to invest. Majority of altcoins simply fall on devaluation, hence learn to invest on a small scale basis  and invest for short term. Altcoins are more on pump and dump scheme, so always make sure to timing the right time to sell before its price gets devalued.

While others diversify their bitcoin with altcoins, and yet they still end up regretting because of unexpected losses, I suggest try to explore physical investments such as gold, real estate or even stocks. They can be more profitable with bitcoin at some point so one should always consider investing in them with an amount that one can afford to lose.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 28, 2023, 06:11:00 AM
I do like how Kyrie Irving was playing before he was injured. He ain't forcing himself to be a star, he lets Luka do the work and Luka trusts him back by giving him the ball whenever they need a quick score. We know Kyrie could do that either by attacking the rim, a perimeter, or a three-point shot.
Swallowing his pride is what I am surprised the most and I think that's a good thing if he still badly wants a championship. He only got one, I don't think any championship-caliber player like him will be contented with that considering his skill set and how well he plays. There's a chance he might get one more and this time with Luka Doncic who had been phenomenal at looking for his offensive ability and also with his playmaking style.
I think the Mavericks will go as high as the West Finals and if they work harder they might be playing for the NBA Finals. Luka is just too damn good, let's see if he will be healthy until the end of this season.
To be fair, Luka has some special hatred towards the Suns, one season they faced and Booker made fun of it when they were leading the series, dude literally turned the series all by himself and won it just because he was mocked.

But, I do dislike all the Luka love that he is seeing recently, I have been a big Luka fan even before he got to NBA, and I said that no matter who has the first pick, should get Luka as the first big, nobody in that draft was even remotely as good as Luka, dude is a superstar and he was Euroleague MVP even before getting to NBA, at age 18, that's something magical and teams made a HUUUUGE mistake not getting him, I literally said this on reddit before he was drafted, months before.
Luka was only the pick number 3, probably the reason behind is that they are doubtful an europian player could do well in the NBA, or would carry the same skils. There was a Europian player before named Andrea Bargnani the number 1 overall pick in 2006, he didn't do well in the NBA, I mean he is not playing like a number 1 pick, so most likely that's one of the reasons considered as Europian players could not compete with the NBA at a high level, plus they are slower compared to the NBA players, however Luka was different.

he was drafter by the Hawks but was traded for Trae Young, I think both teams already had an agreement before that trade happen.

But, the thing I dislike about him now is the fact that he looks like he doesn't care, he is not aiming at grinding hard, why do I think like that?

Well, Suns game is the proof, when he puts his mind into it, he could take Mavs to near title levels, and he just doesn't, if only he cared about every game like he cared about Suns games.

You can only say based on our opinion, but if we look at his number, you can easily tell that he is bringing his A game day in, day out.
591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting on sports, which one to choose -110 or +110? on: December 28, 2023, 05:17:21 AM

-110 I think translates to 1.10

No sir, -110 translate to 1.91. While 1.10 is equivalent to -1000.. That's american moneyline actually. I think there's an option in a sportsbook where we can choose whether we use decimal odds or american.

In my experience, only odds of 2.00 upwards are profitable in the long term, this is because if a person bets on a game in which there is an odd of 2.00 and wins the bet, <>

That's what I'm thinking too, it's for long term, and honestly, I haven't been so consistent betting on odds higher than 2.00 or at least at that level. Maybe that's the reason why I am at loss now in overall or long term. Maybe I should try to experiment and see for myself, thanks for sharing mate.

For those who like to always bet on the big favorites, read about the Overround.

Thanks famos, I did a quick search and this looks interesting, reading it now.

592  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: biggest misconception about Cryptocurrency? on: December 27, 2023, 09:00:39 PM
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about cryptocurrencies, and how would you clarify it?
Based on how I heard people criticizing crypto, they always expect that crypto could make them rich instantly. They believe that by merely investing in crypto, it will bring big changes in your life and totally change your status of living. That's how YouTubers have influenced their way of thinking, that crypto is a get rich quick. While in reality, it's not.

You could have lose a thousand dollars if you invest in crypto without prior knowledge. Same like you could have earned a million if you know how to invest in bitcoin well.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / When betting on sports, which one to choose -110 or +110? on: December 27, 2023, 03:00:05 PM
There's an article I read that a sports bettor needs to have a win rate of 53% overall to be profitable assuming proper bankroll are practiced. We are talking of a bettor here taking odds that are -110 only, which is 1.90 if converted in decimal.

This topic has arise because I'm wondering, what if we just bet +110 all the time and just get 50% win rate to be profitable.

So for sports bettors like me, I'm asking this question, which would do you think will make you profitable, -110 or +110?
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 27, 2023, 02:00:22 PM
[...]
I think this credit goes to coach Spo for being good enough in developing unknown players.
Credit to him for giving JJJ the time on the court but I can't say the same about developing him as a player. I mean they haven't really spent a lot of time together for us to say he added something to his arsenal. Jaime's smooth transition to the NBA is probably more down to the sound basketball foundation he got from four years in college. No flashy handles and explosive leaps but I bet his footwork and moves in the post are already there prior to the NBA. Not to mention his awareness and off-ball movements.
It was his ring IQ that he developed during 4 years of college, so he is very much ready in his first year in the NBA. How surprising that he wasn't included in the conversation of players that could pontentially win a ROY, but now his name is already included due to his impressive performance with the Heat. I bet he'll continue to earn decent minutes after what he showed on their last game, and knowing coach Spo style, he based on performance of a player, that's why everyone in the team has a chance.

I still remember when Robinson was almost shut down, probably due to his poor defense, his minutes have dropped in the past season but now he is back providing spark for the team. So if a player played well, he'll earn minutes, that's how it work with Miami Heat.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 27, 2023, 05:21:42 AM

I am wishing for this to be John Riel Casimero hehehehe but I speculate that this will Luis Nery to prepare Inoue's entry for boxing in Las Vegas.

he can choose to fight Casimero first, in Japan, and if he wins again, he could proceed with his last fight in the division with Luis Nerry in Las Vegas. This Casimero fight has been long due, their trashtalking started when the fight was cancelled due to covid restrictions, but it didn't resume when everything was back to normal.

I also saw an interview from Casimero saying that Tapales knows he has no chance of winning after round one, so all he does is  just tighten his defense because that's the only way to survive longer. Casimero even mentioned that if he was there, he would be able to give Inoue a fight, he even beat one of the best bantamweight which was Tete in just 3 rounds, so he is the only Filipino who can beat Inoue.

So this is what I like Inoue vs Casimero, biggest fight next year.
596  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose more when you over trade on: December 26, 2023, 09:58:55 PM
Overtrading is a big NO in trading. As long as trading is done with an abuse and is not following already the perfect timing to trade, then trading will result into creating unbearable losses. Some may immediately leave the market for good due to consecutive losses that make them sucked their funds while others are brave enough to consistently face their struggles in trading and eventually learn from it.

Overtrading is never a good option. Instead learn to wait for the market to be favorable to trade  and trade only when the market is giving good signals to trade.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: December 26, 2023, 09:10:41 AM
I did not expect Tapales to weigh lower than Inoue but I guess he will rehydrate more than the Japanese. Both are in excellent condition so we have a fight. My head says Tapales won't finish the full 12 rounds but I am feeling confident that he is preparing for something new and awkward that will make Inoue think about being too aggressive. And Tapales hits harder than Fulton, maybe he can do damage on Inoue if he gets his timing right.

This is a great fight. Both fighters showed respect to each other. May the best man win.

Yes, but Inoue has seen a lot of southpaw already and crafty fighters like Fulton but they end the same, with a brutal knockout. So we don't know that Tapales is preparing and we do hope that it will be enough to offset the raging Inoue right now.

I think the money bet here could be in round range are others might see it.

And it will be a big surprised if Tapales can last in the championship rounds as Inoue might want to end the fight early with his power.

If we believe that Inoue will win and end this fight early, I think the round range of 1-3 rounds are quire attractive as it's 5.80. But if you want to take a higher risk by betting on Inoue to finish the fight in round 1, that's x19. Since all the favor are on Inoue, I think bettors will just neglect the odds of Tapales, they'll just be looking on betting odds that they find attractive on the market of Inoue.

Survey lang kabayan....

1) Bakit mo paborito ang campaign manager na ito. (banggitin ang mga katangian na mga nagustuhan mo kung paano siya bilang manager)
First, I voted already, di ko nalang banggitin para may thrill. hehe.

Good luck! and more projects to come in the future.
599  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most difficult times on: December 23, 2023, 08:08:19 PM
The most difficult time is the starting phase and the most difficult to manage for newbie traders is their greed. If they can't control their greed every time they trade, then most likely each trade will only end up into a frustrating loss. Trading takes time to learn, and you can only learn if you have the patience and consistency to study the market.

While trading can be harder for newbies, but the rewards are definitely worth the wait. The reason why despite of the fact that trading tough and hard, people still insist to learn so they can trade and gain decent profits.
600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 23, 2023, 07:17:24 PM
While you became successful in making your friend to invest in bitcoin, but I am worried on your friend as well because his decision to invest is such a rush. I believe greed is one reason, but if he's really smart enough, he should have research on it first before trying to trust and invest in bitcoin. You might be held responsible of his future losses, who knows.

Now, on your part OP, I would like to advise you to never show your wallet again regardless of how small your bitcoin hodling is. You never know what's running on your friend's mind so be cautious and be mindful the next time you introduce bitcoin to your peers.
