581  Economy / Economics / Re: one question tickling my mind on: April 11, 2017, 07:01:42 PM
i have one question..

in 2011 bitcoins per 50,000 to 500,000 we spent for nothing, just pranking and stuff...

if one person kept 50,000 bitcoins in his account from 2011 up till now,

would the bitcoins still be valid for transactions?

I have a very good reason to believe that those people who are really ruling the world of bitcoin and are able too decide the trend in which bitcoin will go as a result of prices, would have held that quantity or volume of btc as at those time you are referring to and that is why they remain a beacon today. So, bitcoin is forever valid.
582  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin defeats the Chinese government on: April 11, 2017, 05:46:02 PM
Its no longer news that bitcoin is actually getting its independence from all sort of news or hear say and I think its really a good news that every one in the community should be happy about. Aside that its also sends a signal to the outside community that the volatility regarding bitcoin is actually being managed and gradually reliance can be placed upon it in other to move to the next level.

586  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: March 27, 2017, 06:58:02 PM
i think anyone should be allowed to hold a gun if he passed sanity test and can be trusted..

And that's exactly what is being done because no government can just issue licence to hold gun to anybody without passing those tests you mentioned there but the issue is not about the test because someone who is trusted today can become untrusted tomorrow so in my own opinion, if government can perform its own responsibility of the protection of life and property, then there is no reason why I should have a gun in the first place because what will I use it for afterall.
587  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people hate islam? on: March 27, 2017, 06:44:47 PM
Seeing this thread, the question I ask myself is why wont people hate Islam when a sane individual will enter a gathering of people that are leading their lives the way they deem fit without even disturbing your own peace and the only thing such individual can think of is either kill them or maim them simply because a particular religion says they are infidels and they are to be killed even for the fact that they did not offend you for whatever reason.
588  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terror attack in London on: March 27, 2017, 06:35:23 PM
After seeing this on the TV, I cant but feel sad about what the world has turned into and begin to wonder whether people drop their common sense of thinking in the name of religion because how can someone says he is killing for God who cannot come and fight for himself among other things only for you to get yourself killed and in few days your labour is gone as people have continue leading their normal lives.
589  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dubai has world's fastest police car -- and it can go 253 mph on: March 27, 2017, 05:58:40 PM
Good for them but where I have issues is that, is the motive of government with this car to stop crime or to prevent it? Because if the motive is to prevent, then there is no need for extremely fast cars when its not a racing competition and even how many criminals can even afford such cars? Its a good initiative at least to generate the fear that you can never get away from the police.
590  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The level of unpopularity Trump grows. on: March 25, 2017, 11:47:31 AM
58% of the population does not support its activities. So, rating the unpopularity of the head of government reached the highest point since he became President in January. I wonder when it will reach 100%. Your forecasts. http://www.gallup.com/home.aspx

Its not today that the level of his unpopularity starts, it has started since the time of the election where a system that the winner of the majority of the votes is not declared winner in the election. I guess that is where the unpopularity starts from and the increase that is now being witnessed is just on the few people have crossed to the other side as a result of the actions of the administration that have been cut in the cross fire.
591  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Satoshi... ? on: March 24, 2017, 01:02:15 PM
Why Satoshi doesn't express his opinion about BU, segwit, hard forks and other crucial things like these?

I think it would be very important to hear his voice and to know what he thinks about it, because those crucial things could even lead to a Bitcoin implosion.

But if he doesn't express his opinion maybe he just don't care about Bitcoin anymore or maybe he's already dead, as many people believe...

The issue is do we even know who Satoshi is and if he has already been voicing his opinion and because nobody knows, nobody took him serious I am sure if came back and use his username even on the forum to comment to issues relating to BU, Segwit or Hard forks, quite a number of people will still suggest that the account was hacked so it really does not matter whether he voice his opinion what will happen will happen.
592  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New Jersey Pastor, Florida Programer Convicted of Bitcoin Exchange Scheme on: March 23, 2017, 01:34:04 PM

After reading through the whole article, I am just happy that all the conviction went through normal process and there is even room for appeal in case one will be needed. The case as I see it is not really about bitcoin but about doing the right thing according to the laid down rules and regulation about the process involved in such transactions and when anybody violates such, then let them face the music of their actions.
593  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Which country is legal for gambling on: March 23, 2017, 12:44:06 PM
For example running an online gamble site

To the best of my knowledge, aside those countries that are mostly denominated by Muslims or ruled by Islamic laws otherwise known as Islamic states, all other countries accepts gambling with conditions the most common being the minimum age requirement and some licences to run which is mostly expensive as to the online game, the most important is to get an hosting site that cares less what you do with your site. That's all.
594  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi reveals himself, what would be of Bitcoin? on: March 23, 2017, 11:20:49 AM
Maybe he is even in the open already who knows but in my own opinion, if he eventually shows himself and we believe him, which is a determining factor of the effect such outcoming will have, I think its going to be negative in the sense that then people who want to remain anonymous will become sceptical that its might no longer be possible since the creator of the anonymity is back.
595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: March 22, 2017, 02:23:59 PM
I actually save for the future purpose although it comes with its own risk but I am actually ready to deny myself the fun or benefit of today for future's sake and I am happy I am taking such risk. Sometimes the pressure comes to spend the some even though its little but I am still keeping the hopes high to save enough for the future.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with the people who don't like Bitcoin? on: March 22, 2017, 02:10:04 PM
What would you do when you're talking to someone but then he suddenly talks about his hatred on Bitcoin, what would you react to it?

I've never actually experienced anything like this before, I just want to be prepared when it happened to me.

Its not even only when I talk to them sometimes some people might just be talking with themselves without concerning me and they just talk about their hatred but I see it more as an ignorance so I just respect their opinion because you don't force an opinion on someone who is not ready to listen to you the more you try convincing, the more they stay away from the truth.
597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst mistake in gambling on: March 22, 2017, 09:52:21 AM
My mistake was going into gambling with the sole purpose winning without even preparing my mind for the opposite which is even more likely to happen than the winning side. I actually learn the hard way when I will lose and it will take me days to stop blaming myself why I went into it to try it out but now, with prepared mind I no longer have to carry the blame since losing is part of the game.
598  Economy / Economics / Re: Trump tax on foreign remittances could open market share for Bitcoin on: March 22, 2017, 07:21:28 AM
If Trump decides to tax remittance payments from people in the US to people in other countries, these people could seek ways to send the money without paying the tax. I believe Bitcoin can make that happen!

In the US the remittances to Mexico alone total $27B annually. Imagine if that kind of volume all of a sudden was being flowed through Bitcoin. That would be incredible!

How do we spread the word that this is an option if Trump begins to tax these Dollars?

http://money.cnn.com/2017/03/20/news/economy/mexico-remittances-trump/index.html

It is true but what you are assuming is that there are only two ways to send money that if the other way is to be taxed then the next is bitcoin I believe that is far from reality because quite a number of people are still not aware of bitcoin neither are they ready to take the risk of attempting to use it especially when the position of government is still indecisive concerning the subject matter. I believe only a few might come into bitcoin as a result of that while others will look foe alternative means.
599  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: March 21, 2017, 05:09:27 PM
I have not really saved much because of my current rank as basically what I can do to get bitcoin is to earn it and since I cant trade neither do I know graphics or even some coding skills, I am left with the option of earning from signature campaigns which will take a long time to be high quantitatively. So currently I have about something lower than 0.01btc but soon I am sure I will go beyond that.
600  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the price of bitcoin still skyrocket on: March 21, 2017, 03:33:15 PM
Once this new episode of Bitcoin unlimited is over there will be new rise in Bitcoin's market. There are many things been cleared that new so called Bitcoin Unlimited will be treated as altcoin and reality and facts tell that it can be replace real Bitcoin. Stay tuned to see new skyrocket in value of current bitcoin.

The only thing the majority of people using bitcoin can do is to just wait since our opinion have no real effect in my opinion but that does not mean it should not be shared. I don't see the reason why bitcoin should be unlimited because this will cause it to be much more available than what is needed and obeying the law of demand and supply, it then crashes the price giving joy to those who have been predicting the doom for bitcoin.
