BKK, how much is this following news going to screw you?

Quote
following Bitcoin activities are illegal in Thailand:

  • Buying Bitcoins
  • Selling Bitcoins
  • Buying any goods or services in exchange for Bitcoins
  • Selling any goods or services for Bitcoins
  • Sending Bitcoins to anyone located outside of Thailand
  • Receiving Bitcoins from anyone located outside of Thailand

Will this affect any of the Klondike plans?

586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using a separate bank account for Bitcoin income on: July 28, 2013, 11:51:17 AM
What exactly are these btc users doing that the banks are deeming it high risk?
High risk what?
If I buy/sell btc through say coinbase which is linked directly to one of my accounts, does the bank consider that high risk?
587  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Groupbuy] 3rd batch KNCMiner - Buying 4th! 220/240 shares sold; 4 miners sold! on: July 27, 2013, 09:11:42 PM
Excellent work tyrion! we all appreciate how much effort, time and resources have gone into this!
588  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why is everyone trying to sell the USB Asic K1 Miner??? on: July 27, 2013, 02:39:29 PM
Reasons I bought a USB miner for USD:

1. It looks cool
2. It will generate some bitcoins and will be kind of historic
3. It's way more fun to have and run than having 1 BTC sitting in a wallet
4. I have a very disposable income and we're talking about a loss of at most, what, $50? Less if the value of bitcoin increases.

Where did you buy them for USD and not BTC?
589  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Please forgive my newbish question on how to obtain BTC on: July 27, 2013, 11:15:32 AM
Give coinbase a shot, takes a little bit to get fully verified, but when are you can buy instantly.

593  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and sort of new to BTC would like to buy 2 coins on: July 26, 2013, 12:20:45 AM
Sup everyone. I'm from NYC. Sort of new to BTC. I've herd about it in passing but had no idea how hard it would actually be to get just a couple of coins lol. I'd like to buy at least 2, off of one of the trusted members/vendors here just to get my feet way.

Peace

Make sure and use escrow even if you think you are trading with a trusted member. Also, I would highly recommend JohnK escrow as he is highly trusted to reduce your risk of being scammed

On this same note as aststa mentioned, people purchase and sell old forum accounts here, so be careful with whom you do business with. Always use escrow, Always!

Edit: food for thought, 300 BTC stolen just recently in a group buy.

594  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Feedback on our new Superstore - CoinsForTech.com on: July 26, 2013, 12:18:27 AM
Where to begin.....

I know, fire your web developer immediately!

This is how your header renders on my dev laptop in firefox, it also has the same issues in chrome as well.

Notice how the customer support section is pushed down?
Also please use standard fonts, hint, "Oswald" is not one of them.

Your page size is unbelievably huge:
For comparison, the home page of Amazon.com is 62KB yours is 1664KB!

For some reason you dev is using pinterest as an image host, don't do this. either buy an image hosting package such as aws or another cdn or run them off of your own servers.

Last but not least is:
Probably for shady seo purposes, your dev has decided that it is a good idea to list every product with full description and images in your catalog on your home page and then set them to not be visible via css or jquery (I didn't bother to look how). The real reason why your site is slow is because of this very reason, looks like hundreds of items with images, jquery, sharethis widgets and everything else... on the home page /palmface!

Here is your home page as it is rendering, I stopped it mid stream so that you can see what is going on and the reason why your page is 1) slow, 2) unnecessarily large.

Let me know if you have any questions.

An interesting article about bitcoin trading in union square park:

I personally use coinbase.com for all of my buying and selling.
596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using a separate bank account for Bitcoin income on: July 25, 2013, 11:32:40 PM
Anybody using Ally for these or other purposes?

Anything good or bad to say about them?

They are online only, debit card + savings account etc, I really don't need much more than this for my buying and selling of bitcoin.

598  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using a separate bank account for Bitcoin income on: July 25, 2013, 10:11:26 AM
A friend of mine had his bank account shut down, and had to move his own and his wife's account and the mortgage too, the bank essentially said they did not want his business.

my wife would have my head if something like the above happened. its not about hidding anything but seperatioj of concerns.
599  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Satoshi Poker starting to go viral on: July 25, 2013, 01:25:45 AM
Hi lavafish,

If you are going to sell shares, you really do need to provide financial information about the company. Investors have absolutely no idea how much a share's fair value is if they don't know what the company's financials look like.

Please provide such info, I for one would like to consider this IPO.

ditto and please get John K. or other to verify what you have said in your OP.
