5801  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Limitations of Blockchain. What are they? on: March 22, 2018, 07:12:07 AM
I still havent got the meaning of blockchain means what are they and why are they even used?
Then, try your best to digest this: Wikipedia/Blockchain

I made my research about blockchains limitations and one of which is Human Error. Here it says,
If a blockchain is used as a database, the information going into the database needs to be of high quality. The data stored on a blockchain is not inherently trustworthy, so events need to be recorded accurately in the first place.

The phrase 'garbage in, garbage out' holds true in a blockchain system of record, just as with a centralized database.
So you're saying that, if a monkey inputs a data into a blockchain-based database and the result was incorrect or an error, the problem came from the blockchain?
No, "human error" is not a blockchain limitation. If it was, Everything that involves human interaction has "human error" limitation.

But, the chorus has just ended Grin And it will be silent till the Coda.

For Christ sake, the graph says nothing, there's no rhyme on it, just random zigzags. Please stop these "technical" analysis already.

You can't predict market future from the past
Perfect Quote. Give this guy a merit.

-edit-

After voting, I've seen a lot of votes for C.
So, people are still optimistic that bitcoin's price will reach higher heights sometime within this next few months, eh.

Message
failed to verify!

That often happens because of the way the forum displays <CR> and <LF> characters. Try and make your message without using the Enter key to start a new line.

He must've added a space after the message body making errors to the verification tools.
Electrum can't verify his message, even with the "space".

I successfully verified his message via brainwallet but, the permalink still displays "unable to verify" and the space in the end was gone.
Here's the link that says "message failed to verify". First, click "Bitcoin-QT" then, manually add a space in the message (after from bitcointalk) to make it verifiable.

@holder99 Next time, do not add a space at the end of your signed messages.
5804  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Create Electrum using address on: March 21, 2018, 05:41:29 AM
You were the author of the thread: Electrum - Newly installed but i had an old one
You assume that those 2 addresses are the missing addresses from the newly restored electrum wallet right?

Now, to check if those addresses belongs to the newly created electrum wallet, open console (View->Show Console) type:
Code:
ismine ("YOUR_ADDRESS")
Replace YOUR_ADDRESS with one of the addresses.

if it said "TRUE" the address belong to the SEED that you used to make the wallet.

OmegaStarScream was right and I would like to know if those addresses start with 1, 3 or bc1, for reference?

According to the OP, the next button is still grayed-out (not clickable) after you typed the address.
It simply means that there's something wrong with the address' format or you missed a character during copying/typing.
5805  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk Question - Posting Pictures? on: March 21, 2018, 03:37:27 AM
Thanks, I was wondering that too. May I know what's the best way to post a picture. I heard that imgur is not very stable. Sometimes it get blocked? Is that true? Any other way to post picture?

Many thanks in advance!
This thread was from November, opening your own or replying to newer "img" threads is better.

A: Not at all, I always use IMGUR to host the images in my post and nothing was blocked.
Users reporting those are likely never used imgur before.
When copying your image link inside the [img][/img] tag, make sure that the one you copied has an image extension like .jpg, .png or .gif not the direct imgur picture link that ends with /hdjdbdhjd.

Thanks for the answers guys! I'll just set it up so that it will appear like magic once I'm bestowed with the required rank!
For Reference.
Anyone can test those post how they look if the images are displayed, even as a Newbie.
Simply go to the recent posts in your profile, there the images in your replies will load like you're a Junior Member.
5806  Other / Meta / Re: Help me find guide for profile link + guide for username to profil link on: March 20, 2018, 11:05:19 AM
you don't need to hack, we have search function for it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sa=search
enter "JanEmil" in the input form, check option "Search by name" and click Search button
it will give you the list of usernames that contains your search query
the username links directly to user profile. is this what you've been looking for?

[For Visual Aid] There's a button to that member search link: Click "Members"

Then, select the "Search for Members" tab.

5807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Useless top 25 Cryptos which will not be there in 2019 on: March 20, 2018, 08:04:05 AM
Just 25? we can literally fill this thread up to page 10 with useless coins list (at least 5 each), especially ERC tokens.
When you say "will not be there" you meant -200% price or less right?

And here's my list:
  • Bitcoin Gold [BTG]
  • SegWit2x [B2X]
  • Ethereum Classic [ETC]
  • Power Ledger [POWR]
  • IOStoken [IOST]
  • Smart Cash [SMART]
  • Bitcoin Cash [BCH] - Basically, all Bitcoin forks. When people realize this "making money out of thin air" scam, those forks will drop their value.
Graduated: BCC

I'm happy to say that DogeCoin will still survive the next years and decades of uselessness, because it's very wow.
5808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The wallet I have only made one pair of keys (2010) on: March 20, 2018, 06:33:47 AM
What particular wallet? It's from 2010 so I assume it is a Bitcoin full node.
The wallet.dat contains your mnemonic code that was used to make that one pair of keys. So,
There will be no issue in generating new keys wherever computer you want to transfer the hard drive or wallet aside from the compatibility (if there's any)
5809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think bitmain is secretly mining ETH with ASICs? on: March 20, 2018, 06:14:16 AM
Maybe not, maybe yes, they could have been "secretly" renting those hashrates.
It's very easy for a distributor/manufacturer to use the units for "testing" while making some bucks out of it.

And here's a better conspiracy theory:
With the rise of the so called Bitcoin "Cloud Mining" last year, I think Bitmain is behind that gimmick too, next would be Ethereum.
5810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Multi GPU on: March 20, 2018, 06:00:18 AM
What I’m understanding is that you can’t crossfire these gpu’s,
But you can combine them with some multi GPU program?
Can’t figure this out
GPU Miners didn't actually require any compatibility between the Video Cards you are using.
Unlike in Gaming that requires both GPUs to work together to do a single process (although some SLI/crossfires distribute the workload) .
In mining, your GPUs works separately and delivers separate results based on it's computational power to solve an algorithm.

The previous replies told you "how to", I explained to you why.

Are you awarded finding those merit abusing users? Sorry but I'm just curious, you guys are so hard work. lol
Anyone could gain some merit by linking/quoting your report to this thread: Joel_Jantsen's Merit Distribution Thread (Newbies Welcome).
You can help cleaning the forum and get merit as a reward, sounds fair right?

5812  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Does anyone know what web app/template this is? on: March 19, 2018, 07:13:29 AM
You can purchase licence for a template on sites like: Themeforest.net
But those are merely templates, you'll be needing a Web Programmer that got any level of CSS in his background to do the dirty job.
5813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building a mobile phone mining rig on: March 19, 2018, 06:13:34 AM
i am mining electronuem on samsung s5 getting 4-6 h/s

How many ETN do you get per days, per weeks?

How long a phone running on mining, whether 1 hr, 3 hr, 24 hr per days?
MrManny, Can you tell us?
I am curious too if that mobile miner is really giving you reward based on the phone's hashrate or the Electroneum team is just baby-feeding their hardcore fans by sticking to their "mobile mining" gimmick.

Why don't you just report those incomprehensible posts and let the mods delete them?
They can't understand English in the first place, so they surely can't understand what you are saying in your post.

It's nice that Goldenprog is trying to give us an example of what we're taking about in this thread Tongue
5816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Create Your Own ETH Token (No Coding) on: March 18, 2018, 08:02:12 AM
can you create coin on cryptonote?
No they can't, tokens are trade-able "asset" coins that's circulating within the Ethereum's blockchain.
Those are not mineable, and the total number of tokens will be decided by the developer/owner.

Ask a blockchain developer to make a fork of any existing cryptonote coins like Monero instead.
5817  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to restore a bip39 seed from linux console and not the GUI client electrum on: March 18, 2018, 07:21:12 AM
If I understood you correctly, you have a BIP 39 seed phrase from a wallet on Linux and you want to import it into Electrum GUI?
To restore select "I already have a seed" not "create new seed"
Then you'll see the check box for BIP 39
He meant linux console like http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/console.html it doesn't have a checkbox like the GUI verson.
5818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Please stop using "ROI" when you mean Capital Recovery. it makes you sound dumb. on: March 18, 2018, 06:56:41 AM
That's why I hate terminology.
People may know what they are talking about but most of the time, they're using the wrong term.
Now thanks to this thread, next time they might start using the correct term.

Nothing else to read in this tread aside from the OP (but I already read all four pages), and this thread needs to be pinned ;D
As I mentioned in another reply earlier in this thread, the agreed meaning does not mean correct meaning.
You said so, edit the title to: "Please stop using "ROI" when you mean Capital Recovery."

Thanks.
5819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get all tokens balance in Ethereum blockchanin on: March 17, 2018, 10:30:10 AM
Enter your Ethereum address in MEW, it will open as View-only. (View Wallet Info->View w/ Address Only->Paste you Address)
There in the page, your token balances are displayed just below the ETH balance (Show All Tokens).
If the specific token you're looking for is not listed, there's an option to manually add it (Add custom token just research to find out how)

And this thread doesn't belong here in the Bitcoin Development & Technical Discussion board.
For more help from the right community, move this to the Altcoin Discussion board.
moved.
5820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SCAM 1 BAIKAL-N , SCAM 2 Bitmain X3, SCAM 3 Pinidea RR-200.. ASIC hidden mining on: March 17, 2018, 09:05:17 AM
Why are you shouting?!

Bitmain, BAIKAL and whatever the third one is have the power to make those CryptoNite miners.
If one backed out, the others will surely do!
As a manufacturer, they will do the best to benefit their salescompany.

If that's the case, then Apple is Scam! Samsung is Scam! Tesla is scam! GoPro is a cam.

Monero will change its algorithm. That's a smart move for a self-entitled "ASIC-resistant" coin.
The good thing here is that we can now see which coins are really keeping their "features" by doing countermeasures instead of sticking just to advertisements and exchanges.
