5821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem: Lost today $2000 on PrimeDice on: December 29, 2018, 07:32:46 AM
Typical beginner mistake.

Starting small, winning a little, losing and chasing your losses by making bigger deposits, typical path to bankrupt.

Your biggest mistake here was to take some money from your Bitcoin assets and deposit with it. Anyway there should be a clear separation between fun and addiction, this is the first step to addiction. Try to forget about it and be wiser next time.
Yes, nothing new. We have heard this kind of stories more than hundred times within this forum still I wonder why new gamblers are not ready to learn some lessons from others experience but still risking their hard earned money and their life too.

You are suggesting him to try next time after learning some lessons from his own mistakes. But, I like to suggest him to stay away from gambling hereafter. At least, he will find a decent life outside the gambling which will be definitely happier than what he could get from gambling.
5822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is playing casino games online a good idea? on: December 29, 2018, 06:57:10 AM
It is a good idea if you don't seriously take your emotion when you are losing. But if you are changing your emotion quickly and the force you have been dwelling with the game is intense.

You should check yourself cos' it might give you bad impact.
People are confident about controlling their emotions before entering into gambling that is the reason they never agree that playing gambling is bad idea. You must think about the deep frustrations you will be getting due to losing your bankroll. If you consider not to undergo such a pain then you will never consider gambling as a good idea.
5823  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do You Need To Put Your Emotion in Trading ? on: December 28, 2018, 04:49:03 PM
if in my opinion the emotion is necessary in trade but you must be able to control that emotion, because if it is too over emotions it can cause you loss or loss when trading

Emotion is something that we can't eliminate in every action we make. Before we trade, it's better to make several plans and after we are in active trading, we must remain discipline to follow our plans. Don't let our actions be disturbed especially by our feelings. It will be so hard to do so but we have to try it because to be able to stay discipline, we need a lot of practice.
I agree that we cannot eliminate emotions completely but we should be able to control it whenever we need to do so. Because without controlling emotions, you will never find success in our life. Emotions are part of life but it will lead to deviate from our original trading plans. If you want to follow your trading plans then you should be capable of controlling your emotions. Trade as per your plans that is the only way to make profits.
5824  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quit cryptocurrency trading its not for you! on: December 28, 2018, 01:55:10 PM
Cryptocurrency in a falling market does not spare not only beginners but also experienced traders.

Most of us have been suffering for a long time, almost a year already. Many guys decided that trading is not their business, and it was their choice. I am not going to give up, however.
For any trading, profits and losses are just part of it and we should not quit for the reason of not finding chances to make profits. We must keep trying so that we will be getting chances to achieve what we actually want to. Making profits from the downfall market is not an easy task, but when the market is not in our favor, it is not good to quit. You must time for the markets to turn positive so  that we will resume our profit making way of trading.
5825  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is no magic in trading on: December 28, 2018, 01:24:18 PM
Magic is in our hand and definitely we don't simply rely on the luck cause we are the one working on it personally. Find the magic by applying your strategies in trading and you'll become profitable. Trading isn't just like gambling, our decision is really matter in here to become effective trader.
Exactly.Trading has its own step by step processes so we have to learn it to be a good trader. We have to apply good strategies and skills to come up with a good trading result unlike gambling that is more dependent on luck. With trading, there is no magic in it because all things that you will apply on it is greatly a part of your masterpiece gained from lots of experiences.
Not just in trading, no-where we could create magic instantly. It must be a long-term process so that we be learning all the tricks and tactics of a professional way of trading. I believe only professional traders are able to create magic trading as they are the only people who are making consistent profits from trading. But, all other traders are just believing  that there is no magic in trading as they are not consistent with profit making.
5826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think you are a gambling expert? on: December 28, 2018, 07:36:10 AM
Many people think they are without really being and this is a very bad thing. These people have in common being arrogant and saying that they know what they are doing but the fact is that after a very short time you will see them losing everything.

I am not an expert gambler, just a casual one but from what I see here is that we have yet to find a true expert. So far I have only seen experts in Poker Tv series in real life.
Imagining yourself as an expert in gambling or in any other field will not help in any means. Our capabilities and what are the results we are producing only must be deciding our expert level. This way, I believe no one could be expert in gambling because no one could give consistent results in gambling. Winning and losing will be coming more frequently hence no one could imagine themselves as an expert in gambling. Even they do imagine, their results will prove that they are completely wrong.

I guess it would be much better to call themselves as not an expert in gambling because that will not give them any confident so that they will keep trying with gambling. When you are not confident about your capabilities then you will stop at some point. Stopping in gambling is more important as far as I have concerned.
5827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling strategy, What do you think? on: December 27, 2018, 11:55:14 AM
Everyone will be preferring having their own plan and strategy for their gambling but unfortunately the gambling environment will not support you to execute your plans and strategies. Moreover, it will collapse all your plans and will lead you to take instant decisions which eventually will lead to big losses at some point of time. This is a typical gambling experience everyone will go experiencing regardless of whatever plan they have planned before getting into gambling. Yes, gambling is as dangerous as you could imagine.

OP is planning to double or triple his bankroll through sports betting. But I'm not thinking it will not be a big task but at the same time it is too hard to achieve. We need to consider how sports results are swinging due to various reasons like fixing and injuries to players.
Compared to any other gambling, sports betting must be an easier one way of gambling to have your plans and strategies. But like you have mentioned, we need to take consideration of match fixing and injuries to players because they are the major factor which will be deviating our predictions. I am also hoping that OP may find his success as he is stating he will try only with the sports betting but not with any other gambling.

When a gambler is sticking only with sports betting and making predictions based on his knowledge and experience then there will be plenty of chances to be successful to multiply their bankroll.
5828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Value investment tool for altcoin on: December 27, 2018, 11:18:37 AM
I believe that the only tool that can tell you in which coin / token you need to invest your money, and in which not, is your brain.
You are right, now there are more than 2000 coins and tokens and 95 percent is rubbish and fraud. To choose a promising project, you need to think very well with your head and be able to analyze.

Yes, using our brain must be the right way of finding potential altcoins. We cannot expect anyone will be suggesting good things for free of cost. I mean not all people will not be suggesting good here but there are only 50% of chances for accurate predictions from this community. So, it would be much better to go with our own skill set. Once we start studying and analyzing coins then we will gain experience then we can easily find good potential coins by our own.

Still, this community could be used as a first layer of filtering out. Like, take the suggestions  from people here and then go for studying them. Do not rush for your investment with the blind suggestions.
5829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: December 26, 2018, 05:21:10 PM
What a game for Lakers! They definitely won't be beating warriors on playoffs this easily but I think with a game like this I definitely can see them grabbing some wins from Warriors if they face each other. They are certainly not amazing right now and definitely doesn't look like they are getting the ring but considering what type of horrible team Lebron has played with in the past years and still managed to bring that Cavs team to finals I think there wouldn't be a shock if he could gear up a bit more and finally figure out a way to beat them or at least push them to 7 games which could potentially risk Warriors ring by both tiring them and giving them more chances to get injured as well.

I soooo want Lakers to beat Warriors to finally destroy their run, they have been too amazing and everyone in NBA world hates Lakers and hates Warriors right now so it would be so confusing for all the haters Cheesy.
5830  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bot or not? on: December 25, 2018, 08:11:35 AM
It's not possible for all bots trading platforms to be scams, but it emits a whole lot of risk, same as manual trading though.
But if you ask me it's much better and safer to trade manually, and without the use of an automatic computer(Bot)
Yes, not all the trading bots are scam but at the same time you cannot expect them to get your profits all the times of trading. A bot is nothing but few programming codes and it works based on some criteria and market conditions. If those criteria and conditions will be meeting, it will make a trade for you but there will be no guarantee that bot will withstand some unexpected market condition after opening a position for you.

You may call a loss booking bot as a scam. But, you need to understand that no one could make profits all the times hence a programming code also. If you are able to make profits overall like at the end of the month with bot trading, then you may go for continuing with it.
5831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency trading for beginners. on: December 25, 2018, 07:41:45 AM
But I believe fundamental analysis is also more important event for cryptocurrency trading. A fundamental analysis is a study on why a coin was introduced and what are the basic concepts and solutions it will be dealing for. So, fundamental analysis on cryptocurrency is not different from other types of trade markets.

Like any other markets, news are always giving more impact into the price levels and trend of the market. But there were situations where bitcoin markets simply ignored many news. For long term trading or holding, I believe that there will be no need to worry about any kind of news.
Like impact of news into crypto markets, there are a lot of other factors which are behaving very unique to crypto currency trading. I believe this is the reason why crypto trading is not suitable for all the people and especially beginners in crypto trading must need lots of practice before risking their capital.  Still, I agree there are a lot of people who are making big profits from crypto trading but definitely not in their beginning days itself.

Beginners of crypto trading must start with small capital until they are gaining enough experience on volatility of crypto markets. Making decisions based on the fluctuations of market is more important in crypto trading as per many professional traders' view.

Black Friday sale in the cryptocurrency market!
HUUUUUGE DISCOUNTS!!
Up to 90% OFF!!!
Hurry up, guys, buy now! Grin

That is the spirit of this season right now. Buy and buy more because this is one huge discount a lot of people might not get to see again. Looking at the way things are going right now, one can say at least that the market is giving everyone an opportunity to be buying the dips which in this case is more like a promo discount. Unfortunately, most people won't be seeing it like that, but instead they are busy complaining why market is too low, or if there is problem with the market. I guess if you are buying Nike or Gucci at a low price lower than the normal price, you would not be asking why?

Smiley black friday is good , fresh money will come to crypto ecosystem
but many old investor will losing their money  Sad
Many old investors will only be losing their money if they decide to sell at loss out of panic. Trust me; the funniest part to it all is that those who are not taking advantage of this opportunity now will gullibly be the same set of people that will be busy FOMOing in the long run. Bitcoin price is cheap now, there is no better time than this to be accumulating the dips, because one way or the other, the market is always bound to recover, and only those who are not smart will be regretting it in the long run why they are not taking advantage of this huge discount.
5834  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price dip a sign Institutional Investors are ready? on: November 22, 2018, 09:17:19 AM
Institutional investors. Wall Street bonuses. ETFs. Chinese New Year. Thanksgiving. Black Friday. Christmas. We've heard nonsense like this pretty much on a weekly basis all year.

We've also seen charts comparing bitcoin to bitcoin in 2014, to gold, to dotcom, to whatever you like. Past performance does not predict future results, and past performance of something completely different to bitcoin like gold or dotcom definitely does not predict future results.

I'm completely bullish long-term for crypto, but posts like this are really getting old.

BAKKT is coming December 12th. We may keep falling down for the rest of November and we may bounce again for Christmas propelled by BAKKT. Remember that BAKKT is backed by the underlying asset (so in this case, they need to buy actual bitcoin). It's only a matter of time and someone with big pockets may see this dip to below $5k as a lifetime opportunity to enter in bigly. If I was 100% on fiat I wouldn't gamble and I would start buying monthly no matter how low it goes, because it can revert at any time and you would miss the boat.
Well, that would have been a reality if Bakkt has not delayed their launch and one way or the other, I just feel like generally, institutions are basically just trying to play with the market and the emotions of people, even with the whole Bakkt thing and with the way things are going, I would not be surprised we will keep moving like this until next year maybe.

Nonetheless, no one really cares, whether they get to tap the market down the more, or another rally starts, what is important is to know the potential of what you are holding and stick to it. As things are going now, I would not be surprised to see $3k, but the question is, would this actually be the bottom or not? I guess time will tell.
5835  Economy / Economics / Re: Some guy thinks the dollar is the only currency and bitcoin doesn’t fork on: November 19, 2018, 09:49:26 AM
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uP6ATdAxuZw

This amuses me, watch him between 2-6 minutes on this video.
He clearly has no idea as to what bitcoin is or what a bitcoin fork is.

He compares bitcoin to say it keeps following the dollar based on the price people set things at, however, that’s just funny because it’s like saying the Euro, yen and pound sterling don’t exist as a real currency because our price also gets translate for things like oil from the American price of the dollar and even the place it was originally mined in Grin.
I don't really think that chart gives any credit to US dollar at all. Think about inflation, do you still expect
everything to be as cheap as 1913 times? I mean I am not a finance expert but all around the world the money we use daily loses value no matter in which country you are. Some of those currencies lost value much faster than US Dollar.

I just think maybe the pace was a bit much or maybe it was alright but I definitely believe that US Dollar can't just sustain its value over years, we are talking about 100 years of history just with the same amount is not possible. I hope inflation is always low of course, I just wish inflation was as minimum as possible, but it is impossible for inflation to be non existent, even with small numbers it always happens.
5836  Economy / Speculation / Re: The pain of holding bitcoin in 2017. on: November 16, 2018, 07:18:50 AM
I think people become familiar for the current market situation because the prices were at the current range for months now so the people who can't hold may already sold and it the who are ready to accept and face the whatever consequences are still holding the coin.No pain no gain so hold the coins if you want the huge benefits someday.
I agree, so it is up to us now if we still want to hold or to wait until bitcoin price will recover, or if it is still recovered someday then that is good for those who hold until now. Maybe we need a long patience right now with cryptocurrencies because as I saw, cryptocurrencies are struggling.
Yeah, the decision to make is always up to each and every one. For those who joined FOMO, no one forced them to do so, it was their decision and for those who are not seeing this as an opportunity now to be at least loading up the dips to at least break even quickly when the market switches back to an uptrend, which it definitely will no matter how long it takes, then it is still their decision as well, which I believe in coming months, years, or decades, a lot of people will be wishing they had been patient. It does not take much to be, it is all about just being smart in your approach to things, which is all.
5837  Economy / Marketplace / Re: If Newbie Offers Investment on: November 15, 2018, 08:18:16 AM
what would you do if a newbie said he could develop your money and he asked you to invest money in him ?
Depending on the situation, if you know him, you know where he lives and most importantly you know his credibility with the place of investment he is engaged in. I mean even though he is a newbie but has invested in cryptocurrency and has a lot of experience with cryptocurrency investments then I will trust him to manage my money and start investing. However, if the criteria above were not in him then I would be a fool when I decided to give him money to invest. Actually, if you are someone who wants to invest in cryptocurrency it's quite easy, you only need to make a wallet and buy the coins you want and then invest in the long term, that's enough.
Not a chance, not even a remote chance of that happening. I would definetly not give a single dollar to a newbie. Not just because I wouldn't trust him, which I wouldn't for sure but also I wouldn't believe that a newbie could make my money more in crypto, I have been in this business for over 6 years with the last 2 years being my only sole income from bitcoin without anything else and you are telling me I fail to make money from trading or from investments and a newbie will come and make money instead much better than the veteran of the business? I wouldn't believe him at all. Of course that just leaves the trust behind, I do not need to trust a newbie since I won't give my money to him but if we have to talk about the trust than yeah I wouldn't trust a newbie neither.
5838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Novogratz making predictions again hehehe on: November 10, 2018, 10:27:12 AM
Just let him be the laughing stock of today's markets together with John McAfee--though McAfee rarely speaks about his stance on bitcoin and make crazy predictions nowadays. Anyway, Novogratz is a fine example of an 'expert' that often fails on his models and predictions, and that's why the newbies shouldn't blindly trust anyone even if the personality is somewhat well known since this is money that we're talking about. Making bold guesstimates with a model that haven't proved anything within a few months will really make you the clown of the market.

At least he's a permabull and consistent with his beliefs, though.
That is the thing, because I do not see a way they will not keep failing over and over on their predictions, because these are predictions and they should know better before even calling themselves expert that a market is always going to be unpredictable.

Most times I believe babies should be the ones speculating and not those who have been in the market for a very long time, but what can we do anyway? I guess like bbc reporter said, to him, it is more like a no retreat no surrender thing, the market comes in a way contrary to the first opinion, I give it back in a new way. So crazy! Hehehehe
5839  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen to Bitcoin if there is a global economic crash? on: November 09, 2018, 11:52:39 AM
There is big possibility that bitcoin will also crash. People invest in bitcoin because they have money from their "saving". When global economy crash the price of commodities will be very expensive or people income will be reduced and of course this will influence the investment rate of people.
with current global economic crisis, where mighty dollar is alone, it will make the exchange rate against dollar even higher, of course this will add to bugjet investors to buy dollars before they are invested in btc
Yes I agree the price should go up during a crash but think of why the price goes up normally, because people buy bitcoin more than they sell bitcoin, during a crash people will sell their bitcoins to cover the expenses caused by the crash, so there won't be any increase by that method.

I think the slow decline of dollar due to inflation is acceptable and understandable but during a crash it is really hard to get people to buy or at least hold. We need to take a look at the factors that causes bitcoin to increase and by all means all factors show that if there was a global economic crash the price would go down as well.

If you can purchase stuff for cheaper in fiat that means the price of bitcoin will get lower as well. Don't get me wrong 1 bitcoin that is 6 thousand dollars right now may not buy as much as a 1 bitcoin at 3 thousand during a crash because everything will be cheaper and your 3 thousand will be more valuable.
5840  Economy / Speculation / Re: Novogratz making predictions again hehehe on: November 08, 2018, 09:32:10 AM
Mike Novogratz has to be chasing the world record for the most predictions changed in 1 year hehehe. But that record would not be very hard to do if he tries to make predictions on a volatile market such as bitcoin.

But what does he know? He mentioned institutional investors, were there none during the bullrun of 2017?

Novogratz recently had a moment of bearish sentiment, suggesting that Bitcoin wouldn’t break $9,000 before the end of the year, and was targeting the second quarter of 2019 when Bitcoin could break $10,000.

However, the negative sentiment appears to have passed, and he’s now suggesting that break of important psychological resistance at $10,000 will occur during the first quarter of 2019 – a break he expects to start the next bull run, potentially beating previous highs.

“By the end of the first quarter we will take out $10,000 and after that we will go back to new highs — to $20,000 or more,” Novogratz speculated.

Novogratz had famously predicted Bitcoin reaching $40,000 before the end of 2018, double its previous all-time high of nearly $20,000 it reached back in December 2017. Novogratz later changed his tune due to the severity of the continued downtrend keeping cryptocurrency prices at bay.

Novogratz again! Every self-acclaimed expert just want a situation to come where they will tell you 'I told you so' but like someone said, they are just making a clown out of themselves and really, they are all just bunch of clowns, as even my 2 year old son knows very well that no one on earth can see exactly what the future holds.

Well, I do not blame them, I only blame those who listen to them and act on the silly and stupid things they say, because that is exactly what i count everything that comes out of their mouth as.
