5821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What people would you like to see on denominated bitcoin bills? on: January 01, 2012, 10:48:49 PM
Feel free to throw out suggestions and reasons. I'll do a poll after I get a decent list. Try to avoid national bias.

Hitler comes to mind as he was an equally bad idea as these bills.

Has anyone seen the boston city bills? Those things were nice looking. "Worthless", but nice.
5822  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who just sold? on: January 01, 2012, 10:48:18 PM

5823  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What needs to be sold to make you buy bitcoins in order to purchase... on: January 01, 2012, 06:29:40 PM
When I can pay my rent with bitcoins, I'll use bitcoins only.
Care to live in columbia, MO?

Hehe. No thanks. Care to own a flat in South Korea?

Might look into the threads where people where leasing apartments/houses.
In Korea?

On a side note, when I can buy a 2011 Suzuki GSXR 750cc or a Tesla Roadster with bitcoins, you better believe that person is going to get their bitcoins.

You will , but by then you will be buying in satoshis  not bitcoins....

Bitcoin has obvious values and everyhing, but I really wish people would stop pretending it's magic.

Happy new year (again) and here's to actually being able to get some real work done.

can a bitcoin 'bank' exist?

It already does. Look up the definition of what a bank does, and you'll find that MtGox fits that description quite well.

5831  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk requesting donations? Wtf? on: January 01, 2012, 12:40:20 PM
I had some experiences with custom forums

First one on EVE Online: they deploy it. Tons of bugs, missing things and epic security bugs. You could do html inject via sign (no i'm not joking). They remove it after some days and deploy it months later, and still we don't like it

Later on Eurogamer: that forum is a joke, random bugs on tons of things, deleting account system don't work, ignore button was released only months later (but, it was possible to have ppl in ignore despite that... and no way to remove them then...), bug with adding images and text or video and text. Sure, they fixed some bugs, but remember that it took them months to make the forum and probably a lot of THOUSANDS of $

I dunno what the ppl of this forum want to do with making a "custom forum", i dunno why they don't want to use vbulletin or phpbb or something else, but so far the initiative makes no sense at all.

Funny fact: i frequent some amateur vbulletin or phpbb forums for my online groups&games&co, they costed almost nothing and work perfectly and have all features.

Frankly I kind of like what they did over at somethingawful. Free base code, secure and functional extended top layer.
5832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk requesting donations? Wtf? on: January 01, 2012, 11:57:53 AM
Why donate when you know the money will be wasted?

How do you know that? Have you donated, or are you just another worthless leech here bitching about something because you have nothing to do on new year's eve?
Oh, a white knight? Wow, nice insults

Wake up, they want to waste the money in a "custom forum"?

How the hell can they make a decent forum? Things like vbulletin or phpbb took YEARS and tons of investment to have a good forum, and here they want to compete with them with 1000 BTC? Either they are wizards or something is wrong.

I had some experience with "custom forum"... bugs everywhere, let alone security.

Also what is the point in wasting money to make something when you can spend much less and have something much much much better? Vbulletin or Phpbb or others...

My Bitcoin adress: No need anymore, thanks for all the support!

It's all said. I don't know what to say more, but to thank you in advance for all the help, you are the best.

I wish you all, including the ones who burned my house, a happy cristmas and a very happy new year.

Best regards, AniceInovation

Looks like everything is now fine, according to this update in the OP.

I promise I won't say I told you so.

Oh yea. Happy new year by the way. We had ours 10 hours ago.

So I take it you don't know how to party then...

You must have missed the Christmas Special.

Unfortunately, yes, but I plan to watch it sometime. I gotta head out to the festivities soon; perhaps tomorrow when I am so hungover I wish I was dead...

Judging by the reviews, that's the best time to watch it!
5836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2011 Awards - Come on in to Nominate on: January 01, 2012, 01:58:27 AM
I found it tickling how someone keeps removing my name and someone else keeps adding it, then still someone else keeps changing it  to "Matthew "assdouche" N. Wright" and someone else keeps correcting it.

I knew I had some stalkers, but this is ridiculous.

ahaha to funny . By the way its up to you if you want me to keep you in the category they've so chosen you get the final word on it.

To be honest I don't know why there is a "best" or "worst" forum member since that doesn't really make any sense. Are there "better" people than others? I understand "Most annoying", "biggest troll", "Least likely to succeed in real life", etc, but "best/worst"?

I know this is hard for you or anyone else who has already 'made up their mind about [me]' to understand, but when I first saw this thread I wanted to say "I am so sorry for your loss". Do you know why I didn't? Because I also immediately thought about what a good scam this would be.

It is not an issue of not having a heart, it's an issue of having a loud brain. Turn yours up and I'll turn mine down.
In case you missed it. There is a photo of a smoke damaged computer that suspiciously looks like a bitcoin miner.

Is that really all the evidence it would take you to send something to a newbie on this forum?
5839  Other / Off-topic / Re: My cristmas present: Burnt House on: January 01, 2012, 01:39:53 AM
No offense, but a house burned down down the street and I was able to walk in it, talk with the owners, etc. I could have taken a hundred pics of it, myself, etc if I felt like it. Why is this enough to get bitcoins on a forum? Is everyone here braindead?

Hahahaha.. Let me paraphrase for Matthew..

"Merry Christmas, go fuck yourself!"

Personally Im sorry to hear about the fire, the pictures alone are enough proof for me, because if you take the time to look at what is being taken, its obvious the OWNER is taking the photos and not a random dipshit like matthew taking pictures of the local arson fires he sets for his scrapbook

I may act random, but I'm not really random. If I was truly random I would not be able to sustain this human form.

Also, when you're done dragging your knuckles read the point of the post again and you'll see that it has merit. Just because you're gullible doesn't mean anyone else has to be.

for what it's worth, when i first read the thread i immediately ran the images through tineye and found 0 matches.

hehe, i said 'matches'.

The pictures are one offs, for many reasons I wont go into.. Its obvious..

Sure, we have to keep our paranoid tinfoil hats on most of the time, but sometimes, the benefit of the doubt is required..

Matthew, grow a heart first, then wear tinfoil hat second..
