There is a reason for India getting the majority of the shares, India is generating the majority of revenue for the ICC Wink.

That is true. But that doesn't mean that BCCI should get half of the ICC revenues. The BCCI is already the richest cricket board in the world and they get most of their revenue from the IPL, TV rights and sponsorship (and not from the ICC contribution). On the other hand, the other boards are heavily dependent on the ICC funds. If we apply the same logic, then FIFA should be giving 50% of their revenue to Brazil and FIBA should be providing 50% of their money to the US. It doesn't work that way.

The ICC has blocked international cricket calendar for 2 months every year, so that the IPL could be conducted. No other cricket board has been given this advantage by the ICC. Neither the BBL nor the CPL have blocked international calendar. When the ICC is doing so much, then I guess the BCCI should not push too hard. Already they are receiving 4 times when compared to the other boards.
5822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 26, 2019, 01:15:08 PM
India surely has a huge surplus of good players but it's the best managed and balanced team that wins in most cases. T20 is mostly for batsmen than bowler.
Bangladesh team always lacked the confidence while playing with large teams but in a short form of cricket, things can easily turn and there would be fewer things to worry about.

India is the no.1 ranking team in most formats as per the ICC official rankings. But when was the last time they won a major ICC tournament? I can't remember any during the last 2-3 years. T20 has been especially problematic for them, as they had a few high-profile defeats recently. And the last time India won the T20 world cup was more than twelve years ago.

They have certain terms and conditions while signing the national contract. What might have happened here (possibly) is a clash of interests. I don't know much about the details, but I think that Shakib Al Hasan entered in to a contract with one of the telecom companies. Now this may be an issue with BCB, as their sponsorship deal involves another telecom company, which happens to be a rival of the first company.
So there is a conflict of interest between the players and the board and is this deal exclusive or all the cricketing boards have these sort of restriction and if that is the case will the players earn any profit for the advertisement the cricketing board does. No wonder the players had a strike and i was not aware of these restrictions because in India the players are advertising many products but i never heard about any issues till now.

Even with the Indian players, they need to take permission from the BCCI before endorsing any product. The sponsors are spending hundreds of millions of USD in these deals and they don't want any stab in the back, either from the cricket board or from the players. IMO, as long as Shakib is contracted to the BCB, he can't make partisan decisions.

It has also become practically possible and the Giants are out of this race.
The unbeatable and the favorites are going to exit Japan today.

Final Score:  England 19   NewZealand 07

It took me at least 10 minutes after the match to digest the results. England got to a large lead early on, but I was always having a feeling that NZ being invincible would be able to overcome that lead. But England held on, and won in the end. Everyone who made bets in favor of New Zealand lost their money today (moral lesson: never take any team for granted).  Grin
5825  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can people use facebook libra coin? on: October 26, 2019, 08:04:28 AM
The last time I heard, Zuckerberg was giving indications that he may put the Libra project in the freezer. A number of the partners have pulled out of the project, including industry giants such as Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Stripe. Twitter recently rejected a request from Facebook to join the project. And on top of all this, the US senators are not happy with the project as evident from their arguments during the last senate hearing.
5826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best altcoin to invest excluding ETH on: October 26, 2019, 07:59:00 AM
I would go for Cardano. It is true that this altcoin has lost almost 98% of its value from the peak levels. But among the anonymous cryptocurrencies, it still remains as the one with the best technology. None of the competitors (Zcash, Verge, Veil.etc) don't have the popularity or acceptability that Cardano can boast of. ADA is facing a liquidity issue right now.. if the promoters could resolve that, then this particular currency can grow by leap and bounds.
5827  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin using or need! Vs stable coins on: October 26, 2019, 07:34:11 AM
I don't think bitcoin can be a stable coin because bitcoin will always have up and down price movements that will never make the price of bitcoin stable, indeed in the future nobody will know that bitcoin can still be used or not but you should know that bitcoin is still potentially good for the future.

We are not discussing the possibility of Bitcoin exchange rate becoming stable (which is obviously not possible due to its nature). We are debating whether the stable coins such as USDT and TUSD will be able to overtake Bitcoin in terms of popularity. And I don't think that it is ever going to happen. USDT and TUSD exists because of Bitcoin. They will be worthless if Bitcoin goes down.
5828  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s President Xi Urges Accelerated Blockchain Technology Adoption on: October 26, 2019, 07:28:59 AM
I'll be disappointed if this is one the causes of the pump but knowing how literal and dim many are it probably is.
'blockchain' is a dream technology for authoritarians as much as it is for the diametrically opposed.
And if you think a fully blockchained China is good for btc there think again.
With normal banking/apps P2P stuff can probably continue to slip through the cracks.
A legit government crypto ups the control and surveillance to truly gross levels.

As per sites such as Coindesk, this is what caused the 30% spike within 24 hours. I agree with what you said. People are forgetting the possibility of China using the Blockchain technology to bolster their own surveillance and spying mechanism. For now, everyone is overjoyed at the increase in the exchange rates, and ignoring the other factors.
5829  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Rugby World Cup predictions on: October 26, 2019, 07:17:23 AM
I think i'm late. New Zealand odds is down to 1.36 now. NZ to become champion is at 1.80. I am confident NZ will become champion again this World Cup. This will be a historic grandslam. Grin

Nope... you are not late. Around 45 minutes still remaining for the start of the play between New Zealand and England. BTW, although 1.36 looks good for New Zealand, I have seen better odds out there (I remember one of the sites having them at 1.45). So browse around various gambling sites in case you want to get the best deal. Also, 1.80 for the championship odds looks good.

Seems things are really getting hot between BCB and Bangladeshi players. I wonder which way it will end.
Why would the cricket board interfere in how they earn, if they are not able to pay a good salary and on top of that they will not allow their players to be their brand ambassador and earn extra revenue and what i do not understand is that what is the problem and why they are restricting players to earn like that, Shakib Al Hasan is the best players Bangladesh ever had and if they ban him then he might even retire and play in franchise cricket leagues around the world and make a good amount of money.

They have certain terms and conditions while signing the national contract. What might have happened here (possibly) is a clash of interests. I don't know much about the details, but I think that Shakib Al Hasan entered in to a contract with one of the telecom companies. Stablecoins are useful in jurisdictions only where fiat currency is not available for trading with cryptocurrencies. If they are available, then what is the point in using the stablecoins? After all, it involves additional expenses to store and convert the stablecoins such as USDT and Pax USD. And ever since they moved to the Omni platform, storage of USDT has become more complex.
5832  Economy / Economics / Re: Texas Bitcoin Mining Startup With $200 Million To Steal China’s Crypto Crown on: October 25, 2019, 07:10:06 PM
They were probably hoping that the Chinese government is going to close down the mining farms located in that country. But that looks doubtful now, especially after the recent comments on Blockchain technology by Xi Jinping. It will be very hard for a mining farm located in the United States to compete directly against a similar setup located in China.
5833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 25, 2019, 07:02:30 PM
I am suggesting that India should play a lot more matches abroad to make them familiar with abroad conditions. Right now they are playing out decent in pitches abroad. But won't be cool to watch them dominant in both home and abroad turfs? Watching whitewash just like the recent series in abroad  instead of home?  Cheesy

Earlier, the Indian players used to participate in county cricket occasionally to get experience on foreign pitches. But now the BCCI is no longer allowing this practice. They feel that if they allow the players to participate in the domestic leagues controlled by the foreign boards, then the BCCI revenues may take a hit. So ideally they should organize B team tours to countries such as England and Australia. But form what I can see, they are not doing that as well.
5834  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 25, 2019, 06:55:21 PM
The latest news from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019 is that Oman has qualified for the 2020 World Cup. They have got 8 points, and even if they lose the next match (against a weak Jersey side), they would still qualify for the 2020 T20 CWC. Ireland also looks all set to qualify, provided that they can defeat Nigeria tomorrow (Nigeria is yet to win a match so far).
5835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you saw this guy would you punch him in the face? on: October 25, 2019, 06:49:34 PM
No need to badmouth this guy. Even if he want, he won't be able to "tame" Bitcoin. After all, Bitcoin is a decentralized asset and there is nothing that Mr. Melamed do about it. His statements are just wishful thinking rather than realistic projections. And I still have a soft corner for CME, due to their decision to allow Bitcoin futures in their platform. Stupid statements like this one is not going to change that.
5836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you still hodling that shitcoin? on: October 25, 2019, 06:43:48 PM
there is no such thing as shitcoin ... and that is in my opinion ... because until now I have never held an altcoin that has no value ... everything I have is valuable ... because I follow a quality project from a trusted team and a professional bounty manager and experienced in managing bounty projects ... so I never found the name shitcoin in my wallet

I would disagree. I still have a few shitcoins in my wallet and these coins have been delisted from all the major exchanges. They are no longer actively traded and therefore you can say that they are worthless. And all of them had a great deal of hype surrounding them at the time of listing. They had good bounty campaigns... but what happened after that is very familiar to us.
5837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 20, 2019, 05:12:57 PM
There was a discussion earlier here that UAE is fielding a weaker team because of match fixing scandal and so on and i was confident that Ireland would defeat them easily even with a full team, but UAE played a spectacular match yesterday restricting Ireland to a modest score of 125 runs and UAE chased that with 3 overs to spare, i really wonder what the odds would have being.

It was not much surprising. UAE is heavily dependent on Rohan Mustafa and he played a crucial part in the defeat of Ireland. They made use of the home advantage as well. Ireland on the other hand, is going through a rough patch. They had a disastrous test match against England this year, where they were bundled out for just 38 runs. And some of their key players have made themselves unavailable, in order to play county cricket in England.
5838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China Creates Currency to Cancel-out Cryptocurrency on: October 20, 2019, 05:04:08 PM
Contrary to what many of the users posted here, I believe that this new cryptocurrency is going to have a major impact in China. But my expectation is that it may affect Tether more than Bitcoin. In China, the exchange users rely on USDT, since fiat is not allowed. If this new digital equivalent of CNY is available, then people would just dump their USDT for the new currency. And it is going to destroy Tether.
5839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ripple not dead? on: October 20, 2019, 04:44:27 PM
^^^^ It is not surprising. The rise of XRP have made many of its creators uber-rich and these guys can easily spend a few hundred million USD every year to prop up that coin. And they have already managed to build some partnerships with the banks and other financial institutions. If you analyze, you will see that the XRP volumes are much lower than that of other cryptos such as LTC and ECH. But they have been successful in maintaining their rank according to the market cap.
5840  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Rugby World Cup predictions on: October 20, 2019, 04:37:53 PM
One thing which make me surprise me is that the Semi finals are on next Sat/Sun. Why they are taking so many days for the semis ?

They want to maximize the TV viewership and in my opinion, it is not a bad thing. The number of viewers will be more during the weekends when compared to the weekdays. So they have the semifinals on Sat/Sun next week and the final on the Saturday the week after that. And it gives the teams enough time to prepare as well. During the 2015 world cup also they had a similar schedule.
