I am suggesting that India should play a lot more matches abroad to make them familiar with abroad conditions. Right now they are playing out decent in pitches abroad. But won't be cool to watch them dominant in both home and abroad turfs? Watching whitewash just like the recent series in abroad instead of home? Earlier, the Indian players used to participate in county cricket occasionally to get experience on foreign pitches. But now the BCCI is no longer allowing this practice. They feel that if they allow the players to participate in the domestic leagues controlled by the foreign boards, then the BCCI revenues may take a hit. So ideally they should organize B team tours to countries such as England and Australia. But form what I can see, they are not doing that as well.

I just read in cricinfo that India is going to play against rest of world for the fantasy cricket. I'm not sure about it like how much true is this because I am reading like the team of the rest of world is being chosen by the editors of cricinfo. Usually that is not the case because those editors are not the selectors for an ICC event. Still, I just want to know opinions from this community so that I may get more info regarding this.
If that is a real news like India is going to play against the rest of world a test cricket match means the chances for winning out while the just players like Steven Smith, Kane Williams and Jofra Archer would be really low even India is a king on their own soil.
Seems interesting. I mean the current Indian team is on the good form with so much good consistent players. It will be a thrilling contest to watch the best from the rest of the world and Indian team in a match. Its just for fun so no problem even if cricinfo editors select the players I guess. I would say somewhere other than Indian ground would be good. I am kinda getting bored watching India's dominance on Indian pitches. I guess you are talking T-20 Format -India vs Rest of the World- i think it is schedule in Gujarat, where BCCI rebuilding a biggest stadium and it could be a inaugural match for venue. But its interesting idea if we think about India vs Rest of the World in Test cricket and same with England - Pakistan in ODI and T-20 format respectively. Pakistan vs Rest of the World looks like troll match if we consider their recent performance against the Sri Lankans.

I am not exact how true this statement is because earlier there were international off season for players to go to England and play county cricket but now the cricket schedule is so tight there is literally no off season as there is cricket round the clock throughout the year and then there is franchise T20 leagues and that is the reason other than the cricket board not allowing due to financial concerns.

That's not going to happen unless Pakistan dominates. India is dominating the cricket now with both their batsman and great bowlers. I don't think it will be good idea to have a match on India, it would be fun to outside India as you know India is always king in India.

There is enough time available with the Indians, as most of the international players such as Virat Kohli and Mahendra Sigh Dhoni never participate in the domestic season. On average, India plays around 30 ODIs, 20 T20s and 7-8 test matches per year. There is enough time for at least short stints of 2-3 weeks in the county cricket. I guess that the players are not interested because the county salaries are much lower when compared to the IPL wages. I would rather say that the schedule for the Indian cricketers have become more relaxed nowadays. One decade ago, most of the senior players used to participate in 40+ ODI matches and 10+ test matches every year. On top of that, it was not very rare to find players taking part in the domestic competitions, by representing their state sides.

It can only enhance the skill set of these players. Players such as Ravichandran Ashwin needs to perform away from Indian pitches, as his performance in England and Australia is not up to the mark. He had a good outing this year with Nottinghamshire, in which he performed well with both bat and ball. I would like the other spinners (especially Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav) also playing county cricket. Another option is to participate in the Sheffield Shield in Australia, but getting a contract is not going to be easy.

I think the reason behind is that no pitch in this world offers more help to spinners than the pitches in the Indian subcontinent. The indian spinners who can spin ball both the ways on Indian pitches find themselves amidst a hard situation when on foreign pitches when the balls spins less and they are unable to find the right spot to ball on. I think even the world spinners perform better on Indian pitches. Imraan Taahir who didn't have much reputation of bowling in South Africa built it by bowling here on Indian pitches.

But according to you most of them are tested players like Pujara, Prithvi show, etc. Even King Kohli went for a county match that is really very good news.

Well... in my opinion, the situation is changing. Earlier we used to have pitches in countries such as South Africa, New Zealand, England and Australia, which used to give huge advantage to the pace bowlers. But such surfaces are getting very rare now. Even the WACA ground at Perth, which used to be regarded as the most pace-friendly surface is getting more flat and giving advantage to the batsmen now. One reason may be the popularity of the T20 cricket. Many of the legendary pace bowlers have struggled in the T20 format, including James Anderson, Brett Lee, Dale Steyn and Mitchell Johnson. Some of the pacers have proved themselves effective in T20, but most of them are medium pace bowlers (such as Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar). However, the spinners have found great success in the T20 format.

Pakistan vs Rest of the World is equal to Pakistan vs India these days since they only manage to defeat India once in a blue-moon . Guess we will get to watch them next in action during the T-20 World Cup next year.

I did not know that the governing body was the political party of Gujarat and Modi was the former president , i thought these are independent bodies without the intervention of political parties, Modi likes to create big monuments and it is no wonder he is building the biggest cricket stadium in the world. I seriously do not remember when Pakistan beat India in a very long time, they usually meet only in ICC tournaments and Pakistan have a really poor record against India in those tournaments but when ever they play it will be a hyped match.

Sourav Ganguly will bring his leadership qualities in his new role and there is no doubt he will take Indian cricket to new heights, he proved his worth as a captain and now he is continuing his role as the president of the wealthiest board in cricket and he will make use of the money in the right way than the predecessor who had accusation and other allegation against them. There was a war of words with Ravi Shastri a few years back and how they are going to handle each other is to be seen.

What are your expectations from him. I remember he was the one who had built the India team stronger after their collapse around coach Chappell. Now, India must be doing great in all 3 formats hence the job in front of Sourav Ganguly is much easier in some perspective except management sides. Even in management side, I read India federal court is reforming the entire structure of BCCI and that also may ease Sourav Ganguly's job.

Political parties love plunging their noses into wherever money is involved and this was a big opportunity for them. Modi loves taking care of his home state based on what I heard and this new stadium might be remarkable. Wonder when it will be fully ready. I don't like him, but I gotta say that he is a really smart man who knows how to attract people through his words and actions. No wonder he keeps getting re-elected with the majority in his favor.

Well... I am not that happy. He is once again going to push forward with the "Big 3 proposal", by allocating the majority of the funding for India/England/Australia and leave breadcrumbs for the other 9 test nations and the associate teams. As a former international cricketer, I expected him to take a more unbiased stance on this issue, but looks like I was wrong. Check this: https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/27929804/bcci-v-icc-face-imminent-reduced-payoutsFor starters, BCCI already receives the lions's share of the ICC revenues. Under the current financial model, this is the funding breakdown for 2016-2023: Total for test nations - $1,536 million India - $405 million England - $139 million Australia, South Africa, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh - $128 million each Zimbabwe - $94 million As you can see, BCCI already receives more than 25% of the revenues, on top of the billions from IPL. Now they want to rise their share even more and this will leave the other boards in serious disarray.

Political parties love plunging their noses into wherever money is involved and this was a big opportunity for them. Modi loves taking care of his home state based on what I heard and this new stadium might be remarkable. Wonder when it will be fully ready. They are making huge infrastructures and earlier they made Statue of Unity spending 3000 crores and god knows what will be the cost of this stadium, the estimate is said to be 700 crores and from where they will be taking these funds, the stadium is set to inaugurate next year. I don't like him, but I gotta say that he is a really smart man who knows how to attract people through his words and actions. No wonder he keeps getting re-elected with the majority in his favor.
I am not into politics nor like the way things are handle and the way in which Modi and his party is attracting people is by religious polarization. People will not understand the economic slowdown and crisis unless it will hit them hard and we are about to face those situation and after that everyone will understand. As you can see, BCCI already receives more than 25% of the revenues, on top of the billions from IPL. Now they want to rise their share even more and this will leave the other boards in serious disarray.
There is a reason for India getting the majority of the shares, India is generating the majority of revenue for the ICC .

There is a reason for India getting the majority of the shares, India is generating the majority of revenue for the ICC . That is true. But that doesn't mean that BCCI should get half of the ICC revenues. The BCCI is already the richest cricket board in the world and they get most of their revenue from the IPL, TV rights and sponsorship (and not from the ICC contribution). On the other hand, the other boards are heavily dependent on the ICC funds. If we apply the same logic, then FIFA should be giving 50% of their revenue to Brazil and FIBA should be providing 50% of their money to the US. It doesn't work that way. The ICC has blocked international cricket calendar for 2 months every year, so that the IPL could be conducted. No other cricket board has been given this advantage by the ICC. Neither the BBL nor the CPL have blocked international calendar. When the ICC is doing so much, then I guess the BCCI should not push too hard. Already they are receiving 4 times when compared to the other boards.
