5842  Economy / Economics / Re: How will a Greek exit from the Euro affect BTC? on: February 09, 2015, 03:16:42 PM
  • Greece won't exit the euro
  • Grecce's situation won't have any dirrect effect on bitcoin's price

Oh and by the way, news about Cypriots using bitcoin when their bank funds were locked were overhyped bullshit. Also, if you see the price rising and people blame it on news related to Greece it's still not a direct effect. It's irrelevant people trying to pump the price thinking that their trend will catch on after the news.

Get your facts straight. And if you think that any of the above is not true, please enlighten me how come you know more about Greece than someone who actually lives in the country?

5843  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How 999dice.com is stealing your coins, and exactly why you won't believe me on: February 09, 2015, 03:02:57 PM
OP, since 999dice's admin honored you with an entire page with your name please accept my apologies for my last post here. I was doubtful but proven wrong.

But allow me to comment that I find wrong in both yours and the admin's actions. While he did warn you to not deposit there again, you didn't listen. Him confiscating your coins right after is nothing more than outright theft though. If revealing this scam is your last resort to find justice I wish you luck. I hope those losses won't cause any serious problems in your life.

5845  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Greece: Greenspan predicts exit from euro inevitable on: February 08, 2015, 09:31:49 PM
That's nothing more than speculation. SYRIZA has stated that they have absolutely no intention to push greece out of the Euro, and have backed away from many of their original proposals to achieve that.
5846  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase, is it safe to use? on: February 08, 2015, 08:20:49 PM
They do include transaction fees, coinbase just doesn't charge the user. They supposedly pay the costs from their part. That surely something they can cover since they have a 1% fee for all trades and they've never disclosed if they practice fractional reserve with user funds... Not to mention that their buy price is always different from the sell price.

They do this in any case or just in case of you're sending the bitcoins from a Coinbase wallet to another Coinbase wallet?

For all transactions sent using their wallet as far as I know.

Here are some bizarre ones I found today when using google queries in an attempt to find old posts.

OP if you seriously picked the most shady of the dice websites to bet tens of thousands volume of bitcoins, that was well deserved. For someone that lost ~200 Bitcoin though, posting on a forum doesn't seem like the most appropriate action. I refuse to believe this.

Chuck Lee is passively pushing for his employer to take his creation to the moon: https://www.coinbase.com/litecoin

Ohhh shit. Remember when MtGox was going to integrate litecoin?

FYI anyone can have such a URL at coinbase.

He isn't even selling them for very much money. Even if he were to sell them at the rate that netflix charges per month (>$10) then he would have had to have sold more then 500 accounts. I just can't imagine that he sold that many

Well who knows maybe he was scamming people all along.

I HAVE ACCESSED YOUR SERVER!!!! YOU ARE AT RISK!!!

Let me guess, they didn't respond to your PMs and emails when you tried to steal a 'ransom' from them and you decided to threaten them publicly? If the website was vulnerable to such serious attacks it would have been done earlier..

How is it that you made over $5,000 from selling HBOGo accounts? How much are you paying for them?

He probably didn't pay anything for those accounts. There are some programs you can buy that actively brute force accounts and give you some each day. There are such programs for netflix, hbo, spotify and other subscription websites too. Or he just bought them in bulk real cheap and resold them at a higher price. Those accounts are worth close nothing since they're both subscription based and shared. Yet people are amazed by the word free and actually buy hacked accounts.

I highly doubt that he managed to make any good money selling accounts though. Judging by his recent activities he most likely made the big money from carding.

lol nothing comes free these days more than likely a trial or need to join under some link. Anyone who got the pm would like to share the method been as tho the OP no longer around

Nah, those accounts were hacked. And since netflix does allow account sharing if you didn't change the password it's likely that you could ride on someone's account with him paying the subscription forever. But OP is gone, sadly this thread keeps getting bumped by people who find this post from google and create accounts hoping to get a free account.
5856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simple ways to earn Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2015, 06:37:45 AM
Provide services online, give micro loans to people with a collateral. Also bitcoin websites with referral rewards usually pay well but you won't earn much if you don't have a way to massively promote your code for free.

5858  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase, is it safe to use? on: February 08, 2015, 06:01:39 AM
Problem with coinbase is that they're monitoring transactions. They have the right to suspend your account at any time if you send coins to any address that could be related to anything illegal within the US. That includes all unregistered gambling websites as well. Of course, they give you an option to withdraw your funds before shutting down your account. However, As said above: this defeats the purpose of Bitcoin. They're not a neutral service provider, and that's why I don't consider them a reliable wallet. Aside from the fact that you don't have access to your private addresses and it's not disclosed if deposited coins are used by the company or not. They also update their User Agreement silently applying important updates without any warning or notification.

Short version:

Coinbase as a way to buy and sell BTC: 1% fee(there's lower than that but ok), company seems trusted, overall considered safe

Coinbase as a wallet: Technically not a (full) wallet. Better go for https://greenaddress.it if all you want is an online wallet.
5859  Economy / Gambling / Re: MoneyPot.com -- The Social Gambling Game on: February 08, 2015, 04:33:01 AM
Most of those faucet users are bots. I can't believe if someone would waste his/her time collecting those faucets

Why would someone want to host a bot to collect 2 bits an hour?
5860  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase, is it safe to use? on: February 08, 2015, 03:53:42 AM

This defeats the purpose of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is supposed to give to the people the control of the eletronic money.

Also, exchange are hacked too, so storing the bitcoins on an exchange doesn't solve the problem. Currently the best answer to this concern is multi-signature.

I know, I was trying to point out that a secure website can be safer in specific cases. You can't deny that a website with HTTPS and 2fa (maybe multisig as well since we're talking about bitcoin) is more secure than a windows computer in the hands of someone that's not tech savvy.
