5843  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a Loan, + build my credibility on: April 22, 2012, 02:11:42 AM
He would, if he was a scammer with a brain. It's not that difficult anyway.

Right, but the question is did he actually do anything with the coins, or just ping pong it back to the sender?  If the former, it might be legit.  If the latter, it pretty much seals the deal that the two accounts are most likely the same guy trying to build bogus rep.
You got a point there. Most scammers don't think so much anyway lol.

5846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Get Ready for "MicroCash" : The most advanced Crypto-based Currency yet! on: April 22, 2012, 01:54:39 AM
BTW, the most fundamental req. of any currency system is speed of the transaction. Unlike BTC, wherein it takes minutes for transactions to complete, microcash is nearly instant. This has been written from the ground up and designed for mobility.
How did you accomplish this feat? The reason bitcoin takes several minutes to confirm transactions (the transactions themselves are almost instant) is to prevent stale blocks resulting from network propagation delays, which would greatly reduce the effective hashpower of the network and basically allow anyone with the lowest network latency to take control of the network. How did you solve this problem?

And the most fundamental requirements of a currency system are fungibility (one coin is just as good as any other of the same denomination), divisibility (you can easily make change for large amounts), and difficulty of counterfeiting (you can easily tell a genuine coin from a fake one). MicroCash falls flat on its face for the last point if you don't have a cold answer to my above question.
It's probably because he is using central or 'trusted' nodes/servers again, hence getting away from the decentralized system. As the solidcoins/scamcoins system, he could just shut down everything if he likes.
Your Majesty Realsolid, please keep your propaganda in your own forums or the alternatecoins subforum.
5847  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a Loan, + build my credibility on: April 22, 2012, 01:50:57 AM
So post the Blockexplorer address.
Because bouncing bitcoins to and from oneself is that difficult.

...if it even took place to begin with.
He would, if he was a scammer with a brain. It's not that difficult anyway.

I agree Maged, please show these fools the truth!
Personally, I would think either a proxy/spare line were used so IP's woudn't show anything conclusive. Heck, it could even be two friends collaborating for a bigger heist.

5853  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 2.5Ghz Macbook Pro -  Quick Sale! on: April 20, 2012, 11:58:00 AM
Do you accept escrow?
5854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1500 PPT.A Bonds for sale - fantastic returns for the small investors! on: April 20, 2012, 10:14:20 AM
Who's pirate and why do you trust him?

At least one of the backers of PPT actually knows Pirate in real life (if you read enough, you can work out who).  I have had my pirate account since December and have had greater than 100% return, he has been responsive to requests and has good liquidity (for the occasions I've needed a quick 500 coins for different things).  But the point is, you don't need to necessarily trust Pirate as the bonds are back by reserved coins in the PPT business, and by six people who value their reputations and business in the bitcoin world.
So from here, it's safe to say that if SHTF, it's possible to approach pirate in rl to get the moolah back?

5857  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: [105% TESTING] I want your hashing power! "Project #2" on: April 18, 2012, 11:55:56 AM
I think soon we will just start paying for rejects.
That's good to hear  Grin I'm still experiencing a 3~ rate of rejects too as compared to almost 0.1 at btcguild/db
5858  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WTF is up with Dwolla?!? They officially now suck. on: April 18, 2012, 03:47:32 AM
They've officially sucked since they made unauthorized withdrawals from Tradehill's account and then erased old transactions from already issued account statements to try to hide it. Don't give your business to thieves.

I know, I know..."thieves" is being polite. Hopefully Intersango and CampBX will offer other withdrawal methods, but it seems they're all partners in statism.

CA,
We support several withdrawal methods besides Dwolla, including my personal favorite USPS Money Orders.  We will also add couple of more methods soon.

Keyur

Good thing to hear. Personally, I think dwolla is starting to go under.
5859  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: RAFFLE FOR 99% JACKPOT (COST 1 BTC) on: April 18, 2012, 01:54:23 AM

5860  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: (Cordially invite you to join the Chinese BTC website www.hxtop.com) on: April 18, 2012, 01:44:45 AM
Hi hxtop,

please describe what people can do on your funny website!? Huh
Does it run articles covering recent developments in the bitcoinworld or is it a place to buy BTC or what is it for?
Thx

It is a hybrid news-and-articles site imo.
