5841  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how big? on: July 13, 2020, 03:43:04 PM
The article says one person has lose maybe at least $10 million in a casino from a poker game, I mean, how big we are already? I'm just amazed.

Can we just discuss the market size
I just want to share on few number where I really got amazed whenever I do check. The first one is freebitco.in; they are into crypto gambling industry for more than 5 years and the amount, they gave away is really massive one. Here are their stats to make you speechless:

Another one is what I come across last week which is a new casino and their stats on wagering amount really made me surprised:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5199911.msg53024378#msg53024378
Look into the date when this casino was announced here and the total amounts in bet. There must be at least house edge as sure shot profits which may sum in millions.

Windice is another new casino which is achieving 10 million bets consistently for every 10 to 15 days. By considering its age on this crypto gambling industry and its competition against primedice and bitsler, I am really wondering on the market size of this crypto gambling space.

215k BTC in 5 years is a crazy number. So assuming that the casino mainly used bitcoins lost by other gamblers - a loss of $10m doesn't seem so bit anymore as others must have lost many more millions on that site. But then again it's just an aggregate over a long period of time. I would assume that most people just gamble for a few hundred bucks.
5842  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chess on Sports/eSports betting on: July 13, 2020, 03:33:29 PM
I have played many times with AI and the highest level of difficulty is always hard to beat. The low levels can easily be beaten but there will be some conditions if someone creates a platform like this and it will be difficult if there's money involved.
No wonder if only a few people who can win the games.
I realize that the highest level and the difficulty will increase apart the games, so that need more skills to win. Usually, we don't need to long to raise the next level, but until we reach the medium level, the hard part will come Wink
I'm not thinking only few people will defeat the highest level. There are always those people who are good at playing chess and won't talk a lot in forums.
To me, the important part is you enjoy the game and if you want to improve the way you play chess just keep going. Those hard levels will eventually be easy to you if you grind on it.

Also, the chances of lower rated players to beat higher rated players in blitz tournaments is much higher. Having only 3-5 minutes to play a game increase the variance in chess tournaments and the fun factor of watching chess games is also much higher. The real skill of grand master is to think many moves in advance but during blitz tournaments that skill is fairly limited making it more fair for international masters and others.
5843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life soundtrack for Gamblers? on: July 13, 2020, 03:20:15 PM
Perhaps, using a unique and customized gambling soundtrack would fit your business, there are tons of music producers that could make it for you. Or even here in bitcointalk, you can ask for a service in the service section and post your required soundtrack.
The problem is about the price per soundtrack because since He asked here i believe that the Budget is limited so if in case He wants it to be free?
Usually, a midi device is enough to compose a soundtrack that you need. IMO, it should be lively and exciting to hear, and should not be like pop musics that we usually hear from youtube.
And thrilling also, because gambling game is like a race,Our heart must keep on fast beating to taste the goodness of the game in maximum capacity.

Using old music would help to keep the price low as most of the licences and copyrights expires after long time or are made for public use. I would recommend to look into some old Jazz music from 60 years ago - it should be free to use by now and is very easy to listen too. Many hotels use such music during their brunch times

5844  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't buy facemasks for the coronavirus! on: July 13, 2020, 02:51:46 PM

That's the point of the facemasks, to protect others. That's been known since the beginning. You wear a facemask to protect others from yourself, and in turn others wear facemasks to protect you and others themselves. Then you have a holes who are inconsiderate.

100% true, the face masks are not to protect yourself - you might already have corona and don't even know it - it's only to limit spreading it to other people. Even though masks are no complete protection - they definitely help. So not wearing masks is actually a risk for other people more than yourself and should be fined.
5845  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: July 13, 2020, 02:49:06 PM
Biggest winner during COVID?

Biggest winner is for sure everything online. So far media was mainly pushing kids to stay away from screen and now story changed. That will for sure have impact on our future. Kids are our future. It will for sure least a year or even more until this media mentality change back to the "kids go play outside" .  Online economy had huge revenue increases and that will keep happening.

Yeah I agree, online companies such as Amazon and Ebay are doing really good. Same for the gaming industry, and it's not only the kids - also games for older people see record numbers in players due to corona.

Overall I think the pharma industry profits all alot too - people take more medicines to increase overall health - plus the big upside of finding a vaccine. Once a company makes a breakthough and is able to supply a hole nation with antidotes, it becomes a huge market.
5846  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump confirms US conducted cyberattack against Russia in 2018 on: July 13, 2020, 08:09:10 AM
At this point Russians don't even need to infiltrate, ignite and spread chaos, americans are doing it all themselves

the put-in has played the trump card.

Hahha so true. Unfortunately the USA is so divided and fighting within that countries like China and Russia don't really need to interfere. At the moment it looks very bad for Trump to get reelected, let's see if after losing the election Russia is getting blamed again.
5847  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat is a Digital currency without Value on: July 13, 2020, 08:01:48 AM
There's a value if people are using it. In the end people are the ones who give value, we create supply and demand. Now you can control the supply or the demand, depending on your position, and governments have a strong position! Depending on the country and how strong position it holds, it can manipulate with the prices on certain markets.

You need to know where cash is coming from, how it works, and when you get into current economy and how it works you see it's a crap, simply said! The power is in the hands of few, we can name some, but what's the point, it's a combination of private and government sectors. It sucks, but we are using fiat and government currencies and with that we support the system! Slowly, but steady crypto is giving all of us alternative. Now it's not the same for everyone, but I sense some changes because crypto offers a better solutions for the global problems, and people are seeing that when they get into crypto and for what crypto stands for.

I agree there is definitely value in FIAT because the government and ther citizens are using that money. The value might be fairly small if the country is running high inflation and internationally not really respected. For the most bigger countries there is actually value. You can always buy the Fiat currency and invest in that country - with some corporate bonds you should make 1-2% a year, or in your money market account you make a small return of less than 1% but you even have a return for just holding that currency.
As long as the country is producing something and have their people spending  that money for shopping and other things, there is a value in the currency. However that value could easily be manipulated by the government. Such a risk you don't have with crypto currencies.
5848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: July 13, 2020, 07:56:24 AM
Gambling do always mean on losing your money in the end thats why it is just a good mindset for you to have that you already anticipate that you do lose all of your funds in the end of the day.

which would really make you not frustrated in the end of the line because you are already expecting it and i do agree on what you had said that i did love those beer and beautiful butt girls when

i do come to these places.

Managing your expectation in gambling is very important. But it all breaks down to what you want to do. If you want to spend a hole evening and try to have fun, it's likely you will lose your funds. But if you want to make money there are decent chances. Like this one guy a long time a go who sold his house just to bet everything (I think it was $150k) on one roulette spins. The odds of close to 50% are fairly okay for a one time try to double up, or lose everything. For making money I would always prefer higher risks and just hope to be lucky. With following a system for the hole night I always end up losing.
5849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: July 13, 2020, 07:31:39 AM

when I bet on CSGO I’m all the time energized. I think this is a bad idea for me to do this or am I not alone in this?

I don't think it's a bad thing to be emtional invested in your bets. Because if you wouldn't care at all there is a higher risk for you to just gamble and bet a lot without thinking twice. But there is a difference between energized and just betting for the fun of it because your actions don't have any effect on the betting. With gambling it's different you have more options. For betting it's just pacing your bet and watch, definitely best to enjoy the ride  Cheesy
5850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 12, 2020, 07:16:01 AM
Im backing this in Dota, seems low risk low reward 1.25/1
Low risk means less profit  Cheesy I prefer higher profits, but high risk does not mean higher profits  Cheesy It's like the difference in competency between two teams, I can get high profits when I choose the weaker team, it also means I have a very low chance of winning. I often love taking risks, but this makes me feel a headache because I don't know how to risk here Roll Eyes the risk here is stupid when I know the difference between teams  Roll Eyes Maybe I should switch to betting on match scores, what do you guys think about it?

I agree that low risk bets are not so desireable, you profits are either fairly small or you need to bet a lot of your bankroll. I prefer too on betting on higher risk teams. For a small return I just stick to investing. But
it all depends if you think the quotes are wrong. So if you know alot about two CSGO teams and you think the chance of winning is much higher than implied by the odds. It sounds like a great bet. At the moment with only online tournaments I stopped betting a lot.
5851  Other / Politics & Society / Re: the usa is technically not a nation, its a geographic cooperation on: July 12, 2020, 07:05:47 AM
americans describe themselves as being a nation, like germany, or france or russia, but they are not a society that is being held together by a single language, but by a geographic boundaries.

nations in america are the englisch speaking, the hispanics, the sioux etc.

Probably many people with disagree with you because USA has a feeling of a nation. I think this is mostly due to wars. If you are a nation and fight a against a common enemy, it will unite the people. First against the British, then WW1 and WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq 1&2, Afghanistan. With so many foreign threats, there should be a lot of unity. Unfortunately all of this is being lost in the last few years.
5852  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] ★☆★ 777Coin Signature Campaign ★☆★ (Member-Hero Accepted) (New) on: July 11, 2020, 08:12:34 AM
Sorry for the delay but in the soonest time possible, all outstanding payout would be made. I have been in communication with @lightlord but has been very busy lately which is the reason behind the payout been delayed.

PS: Just keep promoting this campaign to your best effort possible and your post would be counted weekly by me without any delay which you'll surely recieve your reward when payout are sent.

Regards
Brainboss management service.

No worries, thanks for the update. This campaign has been around for such a long time. No point it worrying here. Actually, for me it's completely fine if the campaign just bundles and sends the payments every few weeks together. Doing these payments every week takes some time which can be saved of course.
5853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CS:GO and Betting on: July 11, 2020, 08:08:45 AM
CS:GO Betting is very Risky it give so much Player Transfer, and from many you don’t notice anything.
By the corona virus has played many tournaments from home. This gave real outsiders the chance to make it big because they are in their familiar surroundings. and not in large halls with lots of people.
There are 1-3 teams that can be said to always be good.

I agree, CSGO being played online is completely different from a huge LAN setting where you have an audience and everyone is watch you. The stress levels must be so much higher sitting in the cubicles with cameras all around, playing on standard PCs, etc. For betting it's the same, it seems much riskier to bet on the favourite team in an online setting than an onsite tournament.
But for me CSGO betting is a nice way to turn smaller skins into something bigger. Just don't bet anything big.
5854  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we agree BTC is not a store of value? on: July 11, 2020, 07:30:30 AM
Listen to this podcast.
https://unconfirmed.libsyn.com/coronavirus-how-it-will-impact-bitcoin-and-the-halving-ep116
However much you want it to be, BTC is NOT a store of value.  It has been a few years since $20K and even now, each peak is smaller than the previous peak.  Probably be $3K by the end of the week.

Why so pessimistic about the outlook of bitcoins? Now in July BTC is still above 9,000 USD. I haven't sold any of my coins in a while and not going to do so. Bitcoin is a currency like many others, you can use it as a diversification in your portfolio. And historically speaking it has been a good store of value. Storing your value would mean it rises slighty with inflation and doesn't jump around to $20k. I believe bitcoins will become more and more stable in the future, making it a good instrument to save money. For gambling and high risk investing I would recommend altcoins.
5855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you feel safe going outside? on: July 11, 2020, 07:24:52 AM
I have heard that once you are affected by covid 19 and survive it (remain alive) then your immunity system will not let you affect by the virus again ?

How true is that ?

It's completely true. It's basic biology. You get infected by a pathogen, your body builds up immunity through antibody production which recognizes virus particles and destroys them. The only case of someone getting "reinfected" by COVID-19 is if they had the disease once and get infected by a mutated form. Your body will repeat the cycle again producing antibodies against the mutated form.

How do you know that the corona virus will not mutate? So far it's still not clear if corona will come back in the next years in a slighty different form. Just like the flu is coming back every year. If you had it in one year or even got the vaccine against it, you can still get it in the next year. I think we all should remain cautious, even if you already had corona. Unfortunately it will still take a long for us to full understand corona.
5856  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: July 09, 2020, 08:08:15 AM
I think the risks in staking is much higher than outright investing yourself. You obviously need to invest a lot more time when doing your own research and chosing which coins to buy. And you will also lose some money sometimes but in the end it's better to have some bad picks which will be outweighted by your good picks then having to risk to be defrauded. If you end up stacking a scam you could lose everything. Better to full control of your investments. Except if you have to much money and don't know where to put it, then diversifying could help.
5857  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still enjoy the anonymity in gambling in the long run? on: July 08, 2020, 02:51:00 PM
Looks like if that happens we have to sacrifice a little bit of our privacy to play our favorite casino and sport betting games. It's most likely unavoidable in the near future but its necessary while there are cons there are also pros. Because we might get insurance and protection against scam gambling sites.
When we began to access a site or a gambling site, and we start to sign up expect that our anonymity was gone because before we sign up they will ask our email address and other information and sometimes they required KYC, that is why we should avoid scam gambling sites for us not to steal our information. In today's generation don't expect that you could hide your identity, even you use fake information because there are some organizations and people who can easily trace you.

Don't forget that the governments are also interested in your online gambling habbits. Any larger winnings would need to be taxed, so from casinos storing data on their customers, it's only a small step to make such data accessible for the governments.  And of course personal information has a huge value these days. There are so many companies just buying this information and selling them to various advertisement companies. So for example when registering your phone number on some casino website, I would assume that you definitely get more sales calls. So much for the anonymity =/
5858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: July 08, 2020, 08:30:12 AM
After the reopening of casinos and businesses in Las Vegas, it has been proven that the proper sanitary controls were not carried out. An increase in new positive cases of coronavirus is observed. This alerts the authorities that they must correct the measures in order to avoid the increase in new cases.

For there to be an economic reactivation, the sanitary controls that have been implemented around the world and that have given good results must be strictly followed.

The following article reviews how business in Nevada reopened and what the result is.

Quote

The risks of infections among a big group of people is still very high, especially indoors. I think it's good casinos are open again but it definitely needs to be better monitored if the safety controls are actually being followed. Enforcing sanitary controls seems to becoming more and more difficult the longer the pandemic last. It's on all of us to follow recommendations to limit the spread of covid 19 further.
5859  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CoronaHoax 2020: Coronavorus isn't real on: July 08, 2020, 08:08:38 AM
I know a sham when I see one.  The Media Industry is putting a lot of effort into this one in order to sell more papers.  I wonder if they're using this for another cover-up as well.  Yet another lie, you know the drill.

You might be right that this getting blown out of proportion. The important thing though is that Bitcoin price has only increased since the start of the pandemic despite the drop in march:

Having a virus all around the world without any vaccination seems very risky to me. Maybe you don't believe in the some media caompanies - but rejecting all form of media seems crazy. I am sure if you end up with a family member of friend infected with corona you will change your mind.
