5841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DONT FALL FOR THIS SCAM on: July 19, 2018, 08:35:47 PM
This is another subtle ways those scammers and hackers used to steal from people's wallet, I thank you for bringing this to the notice of the members of this forum, fraudsters are on the prowl these days, we have to be extraordinary careful not fall for the pranks used by these scammers.
5842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do whales really control the market, or is that a myth on: July 19, 2018, 02:58:07 PM
The 'whales' do have an impact and control on the price of bitcoin there is no doubt about that, recall whenever Mt.Gox dumps btc it always resulted into massive price drop, this had been reoccurring quite a couple of times, while the novices or newbies dumped at a high price due to FUD while the ' whales' buys low.
5843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH Gas Fee Super High Now! on: July 19, 2018, 03:49:51 AM
What do you guys think about this Gas price surge since Saturday I think. I have been monitoring gas price the whole day today and gas price is ranging from 40 gwei - 75 gwei. This will affect ICO and bounty distribution as they will get high fees in transferring tokens to other wallets. I just hope it becomes normal again like 8 gwei - 10 gwei per transaction.
The gas price hike has taken its toll on bounty distributions, there had been several complaints of non distribution of tokens citing problems from the network congestions by the companies, a bounty distribution had been prosponed till August I think high gas price is attributed to the non compliance to scheduled date of the distribution.
5844  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Didier Drogba Ambassador for cryptocurrency, implications? on: July 19, 2018, 03:19:07 AM
I think that it is an interesting thing but it put a light on btc and crypto world, like other advertisement. It is not the only one that is famous or known but really a very good power to help the people to better know and dive into this new world
Didier drogba is a bigwig in soccer arena thus his endorsement and promotion of all.me will have a big impact towards having a successful ICO having reached and exceeded their Soft Cap, their drive towards reaching Hard Cap can be achieved with the company association with football Icon.
5845  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for [ Job and Crypto ] on: July 18, 2018, 03:08:53 PM
I am student. I spend 8 hours everyday for study and 4 hour for Reasearch Crypto Chart, Research ICO, Bounty, Read economic new....

I am quite satisfied with my life .

How long do you spend for Job and Crypto everyday?
This is highly remarkable and commendable but you have to enforce discipline  and ensure  strictness to your schedules to avoid unnecessary distractions to your studies, your study should comes first in whatever task you wanted to achieve as far as Cryptos is concerned.
5846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bounty not an investment? on: July 18, 2018, 10:30:00 AM
For a project to be successful there must be massive promotion and advertisements in form of bounties, contributors, investors, managers and airdrops are forms investments aim towards achieving the ultimate goal of a project, people invested their time and energy towards such projects as their own investment.
5847  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop !! is it worth it ! on: July 18, 2018, 10:13:31 AM
The era of airdrops has come and gone, last year there were many success stories of airdrops.
Participants earned a lot money which was attributed to the pumped price of bitcoin and ethereum however there is proliferation of airdrops this year while dumped in the price of btc had rendered most of the tokens earned from airdropping worthless.
5848  Economy / Speculation / Re: UPDATED BITCOIN PRICE NOW as of today 07-18-2018 GRADUALLY HIGHER on: July 18, 2018, 07:17:54 AM
Bitcoin in action having been on ranging mode for some period of days suddenly a very nice price hike maybe due to some fundamentals, this is one of the best feature of bitcoin I.e highly volatile thus a very good asset for used as a store of value.
5849  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin plays a vital role in the economy on: July 17, 2018, 05:51:08 AM
Bitcoin opens many doors of new markets, which would affect the economy of a country, the reason why there are some countries who don't like bitcoin because cryptocurrency controlled by no one and because they don't get taxes. But if governments open there eyes and use bitcoin in its positive ways as possible you would be shocked that the third world countries who opens their gates on bitcoin will become one of the best countries we have ever seen.
Many bitcoin and blockchain related jobs are created on daily basis, there are growing numbers of Cryptos traders, miners, programmers etc  thus improving the economy of the countries involved revenues are generated in form taxes levied on those involved and many jobs opportunities is being created for the unemployed.
5850  Other / Meta / Re: thebitcointalk.net is a phishing site ! (edited) on: July 17, 2018, 05:20:05 AM
This is a wake up call for us to  exercise caution when logging into our bitcointalk.org accounts, I narrowly escaped logging into one of the phishing sites account, the user interface looks very similar to this forum and this could probably be the major reasons why many accounts of unsuspecting forum members was hacked.
5851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problems can Bitcoin & Blockchain solve ?? on: July 16, 2018, 09:37:36 PM
What problems in the world can Bitcoin and blockchain technology solve ?
Blockchain technology is widely adopted and utilized as a chain supply and its ability to solve many societal problems this is attributed to its decentralized feature which invariably makes provisions for a wider application in many economy sector of the society. Meanwhile bitcoin is utilized as a digital currency with a feature as a store of value.
5852  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: So Much Scam Bounty on: July 16, 2018, 09:29:17 PM
Non regulations of ICOs enables the flooding of scams bounties into the market, imagine promoting an ICO for a period of 4 months and at the end without payment, this is very annoying and disappointing infact there is no reliable factors to be considered in reviewing the genuine ICOs as most of these reviewers had not measured up to expections.
5853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to stop using Bitcoin as a form of investment and start using it as payment on: July 15, 2018, 07:19:01 AM
Listen to me.

Look I know we are a free community, but come on don't you think the price has become so volatile during the past few months just because people started using it as a form of investment. I've seen people buy in low, in hopes of selling it at high, and that's basically pump and dump.

Bitcoin wasn't created to make us rich over night but was created so we could have control over our money and not the bankers. It was created so we could be free, so there won't be any borders telling us we are different from them so we can't trade with them. To be united, but all I see are people only talking about how much profit they've made, not about how it can help people that don't have access to banks(they do but it's a minority).

We live in a society where we take everything for granted, just like we've taken Bitcoin for granted. We don't deserve it. The ones that deserve it don't have access to it.

At the end of the day we become savages and only think about the profit not the good that it can do for us, instead of making us rich.

Yes, I was introduced to it because of the investment, but I was a fool at that time, I couldn't see the bigger picture.

We are a community created for the people, by the people.

(P.S. If you don't see Bitcoin as investment, then be proud of it, and hope it can help us be united, for it's all that we have left against them)
Well said, but the fact that using bitcoin as a means of payment is hampered by regulations from different countries across the world, and subject to approval by the world financial institutions like IMF, World bank etc, and btc price fluctuations I.e unstable, highly volatile is another major setback in achieving the desire result of using it as a means of payment.
5854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of bitcoin in Nigeria on: July 13, 2018, 03:28:56 PM

You are absolutely correct on this, I had never come across any shop where bitcoin is being accepted as a mode of payment for goods and services anywhere in Nigeria, however as far as buying and selling bitcoin is concerned I used this popular forum nairaland business section where I carried out my transactions with  trusted agents using an ESCROW.

gabbie, you could put out the link to that thread on Seun's nairaland site? I like to know about it because I know he placed an outright ban on speculative businesses such as Forex Trading and cryptocurrency.
Mpamaegbu, this is the thread link http://www.nairaland.com/3190496/currency-e-currency-market-deals  where I do trade my btc to fiat whenever I needed some cash I had the opportunity of trading with these guys, Sirambassador, Ibraheem001 others are ladyf and modath they are very trusted and reputable on that thread however I always recommends using an escrow because of a lot of scammers are there too, a lot of btc is traded on daily basis and one of the largest buyers are found in that forum in Nigeria.

5855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you using your crypto tokens yet? on: July 12, 2018, 09:48:36 AM
Hodling my tokens is only for investment purpose, I have a firm belief in the few ones I am hodling having been convinced that their project has a future prospects while I dumped or used the ones I am not longer interested in , of course there are many of such tokens of which needed to be get rid off due to their worthlessness.
5856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is bounty programs to the overall success of icos? on: July 12, 2018, 05:41:07 AM
Is bounty programs impacting negatively or positively to the success of icos?
Bounties creates more awareness via social media such that vast information and advertisements is disseminated covering wider global views, thus resulting to the success of ICOs, of course that is why a larger percentage of tokens being allocated to bounties which shows how important it is to the overall success of the project.
5857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of bitcoin in Nigeria on: July 12, 2018, 04:44:37 AM
I don't think so. Nigeria uses bitcoin as the mode of payment and they created their own regulations.
Btcnaivie, your moniker says it all. Why proudly display a high level of naivety on a subject you know nothing about? How can you say that Nigeria makes use of bitcoin as a mode of payment? Payment at what shops or for what services? Can you name any? Please, I am a Nigerian and would like to know of any shop in Nigeria that accepts bitcoin for payment. Of course, there are none.

Also, I would like to know a place where I can buy or sell my Bitcoin from any of you here saying bitcoin exists in Nigeria (not on the localbitcoin site). I mean a group on telegram or WhatsApp. I will be waiting. .

5858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I am Victim Now! Myetherwallet got Hacked on: July 11, 2018, 05:56:13 PM
Sorry for the loss, hackers are on prowl these days, they targeted mostly MEW wallets using phishing sites as well as sending unsolicited emails while demanding for some information from people thus gaining access to your wallet, I had been sent many emails by hackers urging me to give some information about my wallet in return for some tokens of course such  messages are deleted immediately.
5859  Economy / Speculation / Re: What kind of price movement do you want for Bitcoin? on: July 10, 2018, 01:05:59 PM
I prefers the weekly slow increment to the rapidly volatile increment because 'slow and steady wins the race' and this will give room for opportunity for new investors to join the train and invest massively thus increasing the market capitalization and trading volumes gradually and in an investor friendly approach.
5860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People call bitcoin a fraud or ponzi scheme on: July 09, 2018, 07:55:58 PM
Anyone can call it ponzi scheme and fraud but if you think of it, everything worldly is fraud. You buy apple products with thousands of dollars but how much are they really worth? Why would people give out thousands of dollars for a macbook when they can buy a laptop for $300? Is it really worth that much or is it just another ponzi scheme that apple is bringing to the world better gadgets than any other brands? So we're talking about bitcoin now. What are we really paying for when we buy bitcoin? We pay for an online program and the people running the program helping transactions go through, or we call mining. Miners put in so much time and most especially the cost of mining is so much. That is merely the reason why bitcoin will cost much and if incase it will dive too low and will not be enough to pay for miners, then that could be the time bitcoin will die, or not.
Honestly its been a difficult task correcting the impression of some people on classifying bitcoin as a ponzi scheme, it is absolutely ridiculous to call btc a fraud when there is glaring proof of mode of its transactions with Google as a friend and with all the valuable information as regards btc well detailed there, I will continue to enlighten as many people that needs more clarifications in this regards.
