5841  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BNB the Next Bitcoin? on: October 20, 2019, 04:26:53 PM
BNB is a coin that can survive in the current market challenges, but it is impossible to surpass the bitcoin in most of the terms like popularity. People will keep patronizing bitcoin than altcoins.

I don't understand the hype surrounding exchange coins such as the BNB, Huobi Token and KuCoin Shares (KCS). These are just exchange tokens which can be used only on these specific platforms. And if something happens to these exchanges (similar to what happened with Cryptopia), then these coins/tokens will get completely worthless.
5842  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Scams are a global issue on: October 20, 2019, 04:19:08 PM
Due to scam projects people often stay away from crypto, scam projects have destroyed the image of the crypto world and it has now become a great issue in this technological world, innocent people often do not investigate much about the projects and they become the victims of the scammers.
As you said about awareness, I think it must be the duty of every expert crypto user to aware the new people about the legit and the scam projects, so that issue could be control.

If "innocent people" fell victim to various scams as a result of their carelessness, then it is partially their fault right? For my part, I never invest in any asset without doing a thorough research. Scammers are present in each and every field. And I would say that in the cryptocurrency market the incidence is even higher when compared to the other domains. So it is a must to do proper research before investing.
5843  Economy / Economics / Re: K-POP Company owners are joining the train hype of Cryptocurrency on: October 20, 2019, 04:05:48 PM
The big question here is whether they are doing this as a result of their love for cryptocurrency, or due to their greed for money. And from what I could see, it is the second case. They are dishing out their own cryptocurrency. So we will be having another worthless shitcoin, on top of the 10,000 or so old ones. They expect their fans to purchase these coins, and they can get rich from the sales.
5844  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not trust New wallets with your fund on: October 20, 2019, 03:59:14 PM
I have always kept my coins on Blockchain.info wallets, or on Myetherwallet addresses. I don't trust any of the other wallets out there. But the issue is that we can't store many of the altcoins on these wallets. MEW is only for ERC-20 tokens and Ethereum. You can only store BTC, BCH, Stellar and Pax USD on Blockchain.info wallets. So for the rest of the currencies, you need to go for other wallets.
5845  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency, KYC and Terrorism on: October 20, 2019, 03:53:10 PM
Those that collect data are responsible to keep them secure. This has nothing to do with cryptocurrencies. There are way more important data then people finances. Health, police, governments.

Do you think that data regarding health, police.etc is more important than the financial data? I have to disagree with you there. Even if the health records are leaked, what will be the use for the hacker? How he is going to monetize that information? On the other hand, in case the financial information is leaked, it can be used for all sort of criminal activities.
5846  Economy / Economics / Re: Paper Money - The Greatest Scam on: October 20, 2019, 03:47:50 PM
The biggest problem with fiat currency is inflation. In my country, the national currency is losing its purchasing power, even faster than the rate of interest that we get on long term bank deposits. So keeping fiat in bank accounts is a loss making exercise. Another option is to go for gold, but the government has implemented a 12% tax on the purchase of the yellow metal recently.
5847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: October 19, 2019, 02:24:59 PM
I was keeping a close watch on who wins the toss. And as expected Faf du Plessis lost it (the last time he won a toss was many months ago) and for the Indian captain, the decision was very easy. He chose to bat. A few months back, one cricketer made a suggestion to give the advantage of the toss to the visiting team. That could reduce the incidence of one-sided matches like these.

You would probably know that it is only Pakistan team who give any advantages to the visitors.  Grin

None of the teams give any sort of advantages to the visitors. Even during the recent series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the former enjoyed the home advantage and that was obvious during the ODI matches. The proposal was to give the visiting team the option to decide whether they want to bat first or bowl first, rather than going for the toss.
5848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Rugby World Cup predictions on: October 19, 2019, 02:18:26 PM
I was looking to see some close matches in the knock out stages of the tournament but this did not happen today. Both the quarterfinals were one sided. New Zealand and England dominated from the beginning and did not let any chance for their opponents.

Well... you can't complain about the New Zealand vs Ireland match... NZ is to world rugby is to what the United States is to Basketball. It is almost impossible to beat them, or even to get a close match against them. But there were some very close matches in the tournament and we can't expect each and every match to go down the wire.
5849  Economy / Economics / Re: First Bitcoin ATM in Venezuela on: October 19, 2019, 02:07:50 PM
After the economy in the Venezuelan state was destroyed their government began to look to plunge into the world of Cryptocurrency to turn things around, Venezuela hopes that Bitcoin will be able to boost the economy that has fallen back, so that the new ATMs launched there are a form of support from their government.
It is good to see that the corrupt government is supporting bitcoin which is funny considering the policies they made destroyed the entire economy but the major doubt i have is that what will be the transaction charges levied in bitcoin ATM, the rest of the world charges a higher amount and have some limitations if you are using ATM but what is the situation here in Venezuela.

They may be paying a license fee on top of royalty charges. It is going to be expensive, as the user will have to pay a certain percent in government taxes on top of the 5-6% charged as commission by the ATM provider. But even then, I guess paying 10-15% premium may be better than holding Bolivar banknotes which get devalued by more than 10% everyday.
5850  Economy / Economics / Re: Texas Bitcoin Mining Startup With $200 Million To Steal China’s Crypto Crown on: October 19, 2019, 01:59:18 PM
I don't know how this is going to work. For starters, the price of mining rigs in Texas is at least 50% higher than those in China. And more worryingly, the average electricity price is around $0.09 per KWh, which is almost 200% higher than what they have in China. I don't understand how they can compete against the Chinese miners under current circumstances.
5851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why lots of people got scam easily on: October 19, 2019, 01:53:08 PM
People are ready to trust others people with good looking site too much, unfortunately. And yes, people want to get easy money. Thats two main reasons

Greed is the most common reason. Some of the cryptocurrency users are not satisfied with 5x or 10x profits, and they want to go for high risk assets which can give them 100x or 200x returns. The problem here is that if an asset promises you 100x returns, then the chances are that it is either a scam or a pyramid scheme. Here, it is the fault of the user.
5852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 19, 2019, 01:47:15 PM
I think bidding on such matches is absolutely dangerous. There are no established teams or players. There is no record of how a certain player has played in certain situation. Moreover the teams could perform absolutely inverse of what they look like on paper. I think only people with a lot of money are gambling on such matches or maybe citizen of these countries themselves.

From what I am witnessing for the past few years, the cricket betting industry has grown quite a bit, and not bets are being wagered on matches involving little known teams (even in tournaments such as the Women's Champions League Twenty20 Cricket Tournament of Nepal and the Shpageeza Cricket League of Afghanistan). And the biggest comedy is that in more than 90% of the cases, the people who are betting on these teams are Indians and not from the countries where these teams originate from.
5853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do Investors always turn to reduce or deny bounty hunters their payments on: October 19, 2019, 01:41:58 PM
Some Project owners together with some Bounty managers promise Hunters certain percentage of total tokens to be created.
These promised tokens inturn manipulates hunters to engage in these bounties expecting to be paid.
One main phrase that gets to favor this bounty managers and project owners is "bounty manager and project owners have the rigjt to male changes to the bounty tool at any point in time"
Should the above statement be allowed to continue?

Well... this condition ("bounty manager and project owners have the right to male changes to the bounty tool at any point in time") is extremely unfair to the bounty hunters and I don't know why it is being allowed here in Bitcointalk. I have seen the campaign managers misusing this condition very frequently. Sometimes they make KYC mandatory in the end, after not mentioning about it in the beginning. And sometimes, they extend the duration of the campaign, without increasing the bounty pool proportionately.

5855  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to earn free altcoin ?? on: October 19, 2019, 01:29:08 PM
Now a days there are not many projects that pay you. Be it airdrop or bounties and you can just simply forget about faucets. They don't work anymore. Money has dried up in almost all the projects. But i think once the good times return then you can get paid for your useless altcoin that you grab now.

One of the reason may be that there are too many bounty hunters and airdrop participants now. This is what happened during the earlier days, with the Bitcoin faucets. When the number of users increased steeply, they couldn't keep up with demand and folded up. Another issues is that a lot of people are using bots to cheat the airdrops.

Also whom do you think are favorites in today match ? NewZealand should win their match but the match between Australia and England will be a nail-biter  and I am betting on Australia.

Well.. I am afraid that you lost money today. England literally hammered Australia by a big margin (40-16), and in the other match New Zealand won against Ireland by an even bigger margin (46-14). The remaining two quarter finals will be played tomorrow and I am expecting Wales and South Africa to win them (against France and Japan respectively).
5857  Economy / Economics / Re: Can not believe 5 years ago you could of bought one whole bitcoin for this much! on: October 18, 2019, 06:23:21 PM
LOL... I guess I was fortunate. When I purchased my first coins in 2017 January (can't even use the term "coins", as back then I had purchased only around 0.3 BTC), the price was $900 per coin. Within 12 months, the prices increased to $20,000 per coin. Now they are again down to $8,000, but when compared with my purchase price, I am still in profit.

Who would have thought Japan's rugby team would reach the Quarter Finals? Congrats to Team Japan!
Japan is in quarterfinal its not upset as they already done good job in last few tournaments and now they are playing home with this advantage we can expect they can reach in last eight now 19 October first quarterfinal is going to played between England vs Australia its going to be very good contest even England is hot favorite for winning this and in second one New Zealand vs Ireland its also going to be one sided.

Unfortunately, Japan is not going to progress any further. Their opponents in the semi-finals are South Africa. And currently South Africa is being regarded as one of the top sides in the world of rugby. Japan has virtually zero chance of winning against South Africa, but they should be proud of their scintillating performance so far in the tournament.
5859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: October 18, 2019, 06:07:34 PM
Yeah majority of players might survive 40 overs  Grin and List of players is not in public domain atm but atleast 110 players already confirmed their availability for this tournament. ABD is Italian Stallion when compare to old era players Grin

No surprise there. AB de Villiers retired not because he was getting old, but because he had some disagreement with the South African cricket board. He retired at the age of 33 and we have 40 year olds playing international cricket now. Anyway, after Amla and de Villiers retired, the quality of the South African cricket went down like a falling rock.

Sourav Ganguly was known as one of the most aggressive captains India ever had. Under his leadership, India reached new heights. I hope he'll be able to do the same with BCCI as well. There are still a lot of corrupt people within the state associations. Srinivasan's daughter has been elected to the Tamil Nadu state association. Hopefully Sourav can kick them out.
