Another wedge (not entirely finished) - what bitcoin will do with it this time?

Rising wedges are supposedly bearish right?
5863  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-19 Newsbtc: Overstock.com to Begin Accepting Bitcoin Second Half of 2014 on: December 19, 2013, 04:55:40 PM
Yay!  Somewhere else to spend my coins when they are worth $10,000 each!   Grin

It is great news.  I wish they were not waiting until the second half of 2014 though.  Now would be better. Wink

If folks don't start spending them while they are worth less than 10k we won't see retailers take them successfully and they won't go up.  Kinda a catch 22.

Or did you mean you think they will be 10k when in Q3 2014. Smiley.  I like that better.
5864  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: December 19, 2013, 08:30:35 AM
Try number 2 for the price to break support at 630.  Second chance?

My guess is a ping (bounce off resistance).

Market depth shows lots of ask pressure and hardly any bid pressure. First 1000 btc on ask @ $645, first 1000 on bid @ $580.

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/mtgoxUSD_depth.html just fyi

I changed my post to use the correct word, but too late I see.

Looks like 2x now its bounced off...  Now let's see if it will challenge support.  I have a pile of cash on Gox.  Makes me nervous.  I want to reenter just to have it back in a safe wallet.  But I don't think its time yet.

I am saying freeloaders are worthless . Maybe seals needed to have freerolls in the beginning as a new site so the argument was possibly nano valid but seals is now an established site and getting players thru forums and word of mouth the need to recruit players thru freerolls is long gone. It was hilarious watching all the freeloaders wail when the site took away freerolls further evidence they had no intention whatsoever of buyin in on their own. These players I saw in forums were fr

You have a lot of valid points most of the time Caps just have to disagree with you on the freeroll issue gl on seals Wink

I think it's obvious global warming is occurring

You would have to be a very ignorant fool to think otherwise, LOL.

Well fuck.

Its impossible to argue with something as ironclad as that. Especially when you include a picture of Mark Twain.

https://sealswithclubs.eu/manditory-password-reset/

The datacenter that we employed up to November permitted unauthorized access to a database server and our database containing user credentials was likely compromised. Passwords were salted and hashed per user, but to be safe every user MUST change their password when they next log in. Please do so at your earliest opportunity. If your Seals password was used for any other purpose you should reset those passwords too as a precaution.

As a response to this occurrence, a top priority is to further put user’s security into their own hands beyond offering two-factor authentication. This includes the ability to permanently lock withdrawal address, locking out the transfer feature, and locking out account access except for a set of IPs (at least one of which must be the currently used IP). Expect to see these features in the near future.

Transfers may be disabled for a short period of time. Thank you very much for your understanding and support during this rough time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this may cause our players.

Thanks to you and the team for the good work re:security.

By the way... How do we enable 2fa?  I want to add it but can't find it on the site.

Just to clarify, do you guys think that humans have no effect on our global climate?

Just to clarify that's a cute little strawman you are building there all by yourself. :}

Meh... I think bitcoin is pretty special too but every speculative bubble investment has a hoarde  of robe wearing, chanting, tambourine waving converts.  Bitcoin is no different.  Also there will always be grumpy naysaying, conspiracy seeing bears too.

But the ones who turn from group A to group B are by FAR the most intolerable thing imaginable.

And to bring this post on topic:

When you see the membership of group C starting to peak...  We are finding a bottom.

PS. Yeah… I know that's mostly bs up there, but I've seen it be true many times before. Smiley

Freerolls feed freeloaders who will never buy on their own.  If people are looking to play on a site they will buyin in and not depend on having to build bankrolls from freerolls. Give the money to people who generate rake for the site through additional krillrolls there are plenty of other sites people can play freerolls on.

People who win freerolls shortstack regular games and do absolutely nothing for the site but suck off on paying rake players like the leetches , parasites they are.

So.  I don't think you mean to be saying they have an unexploitable strategy.  The players you describe are indeed some of the most exploitable players at any given table.  We are not talking about professional shortstackers. Wink

It's a two edged sword... you want fish at your table right?  Then you might have to get better at picking off shortstacks.  Also i think a lot of the frerroll winners will enter the :45 1 chip tourney's.

Speaking of which those tourneys are better than the occasional 150+ player 20 chip fishstravaganza.  the 1 5 and 10 chip tourneys are easily won and pay out better than most of the freerolls.

I'd love to see some lovely charts about this bounce back, resistance levels, points to determine whether the next leg down tests support or breaks it, etc.

Look at post 992... that does (informally) what you are asking.  It takes time to make a strong argument with charts and such...  which I always appreciate, but there's a lot of good information in smaller posts as well...  I find it interesting that there seems to be a general consensus amongst the traders.
5877  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu | Largest Bitcoin Poker Site | No Banking | Fast Cashouts on: December 18, 2013, 09:33:01 PM
Just a hopefully constructive challenge to a decent idea there...

Two things.

1.  We have krill freerolls.
2.  Open freerolls feed the site.  People playing raked cash games and small buy in tourneys get 90% (my guess) of the freeroll money when it's all said and done.  And they attract new blood to the cash tables and smaller tournaments.  Cash games are way less soft than a year ago.  It is healthy to get as many new players in the mix as possible.

455  bitcoin is crashing hard

It really is a good thing.  Expect the idiotmedia to tear it up.  Barring super fantastic news we may see a year plus between 300 and 500.  As tech grows and so does use we will start the next leg up.  We needed to shed weak players and hype driven nonsense.  Bitcoin is here to stay.
5879  Economy / Speculation / Re: why no harder crash ? on: December 18, 2013, 07:29:33 AM
I think it's safe to say most of bitcoin's value is based on two fundamentals:

1)  This is the commodity/currency of the future, and I'm buying in now as more people will use it in the future

2)  Someone will pay more for my bitcoins tomorrow than I'm paying today, therefore it's an easy buy

When people talk about fundamentals it really boils down to the two above.  Current uses for bitcoin do not justify exponential growth in price to over US$1k.

Why no harder crash?  We still have a ready supply of speculators willing to buy back in because they think bitcoins are now cheap.  Buy at US$700, sell at US$800 a day or two later.  Rinse, repeat.  Massive profit over a very short time period.  We in the bitcoin world are so disconnected from reality sometimes that we fail to notice that such swings are extremely rare in the real world of investing.

In the end, A LOT of people are just going to get hurt by a select few.  This is obvious.  Its happening already, and this is STILL the bitcoin wealth distribution:

Fake chart is fake.

Where is the chart where Masterluc predicted a multi year bearish outcome down to $40 a few weeks ago?

He never did afaik. I seem to remember something about 400.  But not 40.
