5861  Other / Meta / Re: And the yobit.net campaign is back on: September 26, 2019, 08:08:11 PM
Oh shit, here we go again... Seems that they haven't learned from previous story. I don't see any changes from previous campaign, except personal text message. Well, if spam wave will repeat, I think we all know what's going to happen - theymos simply will ban their signatures permanently. So, Yobit is playing with fire now, because as I understand they don't have manager again.
Interesting, does users who been in their campaign previously, can join campaign again? If yes, brace yourselves, winter spammers is coming.
5862  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Google Alerts Become New Place For Malware, Phishing And Scam Sites on: September 26, 2019, 07:52:21 PM
I haven't heard about Google Alerts and I never used it. As I understand, this thing is automated and aren't moderated and it opens room for abuse. And it already become worrying trend with Google products. It's pretty much same like infected and dcam apps on Google Play store, scams on Google ads, your mentioned phishing attacks in Google Docs and Calendar. The problem is that people blindly believe that everything what find on Goigle products is legit and it gives great opportunity for people with bad intentions to reach huge number of victims.
5863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: September 26, 2019, 07:24:00 PM

I didn't check but, what could've been the odds for Eibar to win during HT? 20/1? 30/1? pfff, imagine taking that one!
Yeah, odds had to be amazing, but I don't know who would risk to make such bet. After first half there wasn't any reasons to expect that Eibar can make amazing comeback and win this game. But in 2nd half we saw one-sided game. 2nd goal of Eibar - what a stupid mistake of Vaclik.
Today I have Real Sociedad to win @1.6 and so far so good - La Real leading 1:0 after 25 minutes.
5864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019-20 EuroLeague Basketball on: September 26, 2019, 07:12:21 PM
@LTU_btc Where are you mate?! I am sure you will be following EuroLeague  Cheesy
I'm here mate and I'm definitely waiting for new season of Euroleague Cheesy
Who are favorites to win? Like always, Real Madrid, Fenerbahche. Champions CSKA lost many important players, but they are still good. Barca bought many stars, but I'm sceptical about their coach.
Teams which can impress IMO - Anadolou Efes, Bayern, Baskonia, Zalgiris.
It will be interesting to watch rebuild of Olimpia Milan with coach Messina.
One unusual thing that Olympiakos will be able to focus on Euroleague games, because they were removed from Greek league.
I don't follow the euroleague but can you also include some links where we can follow the league? and as well as the possibility of watching the live games through streams?
You can find Euroleague broadcasts on most sports streaming websites, but don't expect good quality. You also can buy EuroleagueTV subscription here https://www.euroleague.tv/
5865  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location on: September 26, 2019, 03:51:30 PM
It's not gonna ask again if you blocked (or allowed) it. Assuming it's Chrome, go to (Lithuanian equivalents of) Settings, Site Settings, Location, find Bitcointalk under Blocked or Allowed, remove it, and try again.
No, I didn't blocked it, neither allowed it. I just closed browser tab after I saw that.

@OP haven't you experience the pop up on other websites which doesn't usually ask for your location? If it is maybe it is really related to your browser app or you might have other third party apps doing that for you in disguised of a website asking your location.
I haven't noticed anything similar on other websites recently. It might be app, but I don't have any apps on my phone which looks suspicious.
@LTU_btc were you on your usual connection to bitcointalk?

The local cable provider where I am is injecting javascript ads to http (not https) pages.

-Dave
Yeah, it was usual connection.
The feds are onto you.
LOL, Big Brother is watching.
5866  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location on: September 25, 2019, 09:38:55 PM

If you visit the same page in a private tab, does it request your location still? (This isn't a sure-fire way to test it, but if it's a problem on my end which I didn't fix, this might trigger it.) Does anyone else see it?

On private tab I didn't got that request. But now when visited this link in regular way, I didn't got this request too. As I said, so far I only got this notification only once.
5867  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location on: September 25, 2019, 09:23:29 PM
Is your phone rooted?
Or are you using any browser extension?
Nope, it's not rooted and I don't have any extensions on my browser
5868  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location on: September 25, 2019, 09:06:21 PM
Cannot be the proper bitcointalk.
theymos wouldn't need that.
possible puny codes? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5184169.0
Nope, it's proper Bitcointalk, because I was signed in to my Bitcointalk when I visited this link. If it would be fake website, I would have to enter my login data to sign in.
5869  Other / Meta / Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location on: September 25, 2019, 08:47:13 PM
Today I was looking for one Bitcointalk thread on Google. I visited one link that I got in search results and got this notification:

It says "Bitcointalk.org would like to use your current location".
At first I thought it's phishing website, but no, it's original Bitcointalk. I have never faced it on Bitcointalk before. Does it come from Cloudflare? Because I don't know why theymos would want to know our location.

5870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk and reflinks: don't produce refspam, please on: September 25, 2019, 08:11:22 PM

One question though: Say an operator/service provider is managing several ANNs in different languages. Obviously it would be important for them to track the traffic they are getting from the local boards. Would this be okay or still forbidden?
I think it would be ok. I seen lot of services using tracking tags in their links. First example which comes to my head is Freebitco.in, but we can easily found lot of other services. This is how their link in ANN looks:
http://freebitco.in/?r=4&tag=bitcointalk.
So, for services such links is allowed.
5871  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Confusing personal message on: September 25, 2019, 08:01:39 PM
I suggest to report that message to moderators. PM spam is just freaking annoying and users like this one deserved to get ban.
I don't know why they think that's good idea to promote service in such way. Because I'm definitely not going to use service which spam my email or PM's without my consent.
5872  Other / Meta / Re: Board for Satoshi identity threads? on: September 25, 2019, 07:50:14 PM
Why do you think that such board is needed? Because everyone knows that Craig Wright is Satoshi.
Seriously, such board would be heaven for spammers. You would see how creative spammers are. Imagine how many stupid questions they can ask and how many conspiracy theories they can make. We don't know that much about Satoshi, so it opens room for pointless speculation which leads nowhere.
5873  Other / Meta / Re: Let's make Off-topic section signature-free. on: September 25, 2019, 07:42:00 PM
I'm not against your suggestion, but I think that we need to clean up board that realky matters first. I haven't checked, but from what I know almost all (or maybe all) Bitcoin paying campaign aren't paying for posts in off-topic. Though, I don't know how about bounties. If majority of bounties are paying for posts in it, then disabling signatures sounds not bad. But I'm a afraid that it won't solve problem in general - plague just will spread to other parts of forum.
5874  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk Account seller in local on: September 25, 2019, 07:29:22 PM
First, this topic belongs to Reputation, please move it.
@1kodumtek7, can you show me rule which don't allow account sales? Because account sales market isn't moderated and left to community - you only can get negative trust feedback for it.
@bob123, I agree with your point. It might be scammer who just posted link to random forum account. For example, I also can say on chat that I'm selling account x and just post link to profile - will it be enough to tag account x?
5875  Other / Meta / Re: When Legendary? on: September 25, 2019, 07:22:31 PM
I remember seeing similar activity calculator few years, but now I can't find, maybe it doesn't works anymore. After release of merit system, activity isn't such important thing anymore, but it's still interesting to check estimated date when you can rank up. So, thanks for making it.
One fun thing related to this topic - theymos told that I would have received Legendary status at lowest possible activity. So, I was just one week away from Legendary rank when merit system was released lol.
5876  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to buy a bitcointalk profile via escrows? on: September 24, 2019, 09:02:50 PM
Good to hear that you realized that's not good idea to buy forum account. Main reasons already explained above. I want to add another point - such farmed bought accounts full of shitposts in post history wouldn't add much credibility to the project. You shouldn't expect that you can buy high quality farmed account.
Simpliest and cheapiest solution for you - buy Copper membership. Another one - hire high ranked member with positive reputation to post your announcement.
5877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2019/20 on: September 24, 2019, 06:43:15 PM

- Barcelona vs Villareal -

Away win @9.43. Pretty good odds for those expecting Barca to continue their crappy run in the league. I honestly don't expect them to drop points today (that's what i said last saturday lol), they've been really good when playing at home, problem is when they play away.

I think i'd go with over 3.5 and home win @1.88.
I don't believe that we're going to lose again today, no matter how shitty we're playing. But from what we saw so far, Barca at home and away is two different teams. Villarreal is solid team, but we already didn't had problems against similar level teams Valencia and Betis. And players must be angry today after recent terrible performances. So, your bet really makes sense.
5878  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Escrow and how to trust them on: September 23, 2019, 08:01:18 PM
Escrow isn't approved by forum staff. I'd rather say they are approved by community. Basically, if people trust in that person, they choose to use their escow services. If you look at escroe services compilation and theirvtrust ratings, you will see who is who here. But despite everything, nobody can guarantee that you're 100% safe. Basically, you have to deal with unknown person which you haven't saw face to face, who is thousands kilometers away and we saw examples when even persons with perfect reputation become scammers later.
5879  Economy / Services / Re: MIXER SERVICES on: September 23, 2019, 07:43:15 PM
Wow, nice try. I already see people stoping to use Chipmixer and switching to service provided by unknown newbie without any reputation, website and ither stuff which is needed for mixed. And you definitely won't run away with funds of users.  Cool
5880  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone from EU who can receive a Letter for me - offer (50$ in BTC) on: September 23, 2019, 07:36:44 PM
I can help you, I'm waiting for more details in PM. But we would need to use escrow to be sure that everything will happen as planned.
But @swirl raised good questions about address, are you sure that they won't ask you proof of address or something.
