5861  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Minimizing the risk- How much possible it is? on: January 28, 2020, 02:07:41 PM
You're diversifying for sure.

However, I'm not sure whether or not it's necessarily a good idea to invest in two coins that are completely opposites of each other. That could potentially mean that any gains in one of the coins can be offset by losses in another coin in your portfolio. I'd rather pick a sector which I think has potential and diversify within that sector.

This one. The first thing that comes to my mind is the baccarat table, you can't beat on both banker and player, so it will simply negate each other.

Also, you're not completely eliminating the risk that one of the projects will go rogue. This indiosyncratic risk will always be there.

So if we are talking about diversification here, better go to stocks or precious metal. It's hard to invest on altcoin nowadays and as much as we love to see that website with the correlation thingy, I doubt that it will be very much effective in the long run, just saying.
5862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why are exchanges still listing shitcoins? on: January 28, 2020, 01:38:44 PM
In the example you have given in your article, I would say that it is an exception,

Quote
You may recall the slew of exchanges that delisted BSV. The social pressure to participate in the festivities of delisting BSV caused many exchanges to join the movement and delist the asset.

Binance for example delisted it because of the shady personality behind, CSW. If we pressure small to mid tier exchanges thru twitter, I don't think they will just simply cave in. Exchanges are businesses, and for them to exist and continue, they have to make profits. And they can get it by listing any coins that shows interested on their exchanges. Yes, this is plaguing our crypto markets, but I would say that at the end of the day, exchanges are more willing to accept coins to be listed even though they are shitcoin. The thing is that after months of under performing, then exchanges should look at every coin they have accepted and somewhat de listed who are not doing any good, (low volume, no activity, developers totally abandoned the project).
5863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you gamble? on: January 28, 2020, 01:06:53 PM
Are you gambling everyday?
twice a week?
once in a never again?

Try to minimised my gambling days now, so I would say once a week or once every two weeks.

if you gamble everyday, can you stop whenever you want or are you fully addicted?

would love to hear more on your habits here on the forum.

The only reason that I was able to quit gambling, is that I loss my high paying job, never had any money save because I spent it all in gambling. Big lessons on my part, that's why when I slowly started to recover, I never put gambling in top of my list, I'll just play again with some small amount and just enjoy and have some fun with friends.

Anybody watching Federer right now? Looks like he is in big problems against Sandgren. Does he have some injury problems maybe? I don't remember ever seeing him losing 4 service games in 2 sets.

Not really sure if he is nursing some injuries but based on his post game interview, he said somewhat in the line that he feels better as the match goes on. So perhaps just a bad start on his end, and what makes it great is that he was able to survived and incredibly saves 7 match point to win a grueling match,  6-3, 2-6, 2-6, 7-6(Cool, 6-3.

Highlights of the game: (https://ausopen.com/match/2020-tennys-sandgren-vs-roger-federer-ms503?wggwr=null#!media?g=video-151001)

Now him and Novak Djokovic will face each other again in the semis, Djokovic beat a resurging Raonic in 3 sets.
5865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in Silence on: January 28, 2020, 12:06:53 PM
And how do your critics feel now?

Do they still continue with their doubts over Bitcoin or they have already changed feathers and are now one of us?

If they are truly a critics then I would understand that they can change their stance seeing that the price or adoption is growing. But if they are a complete hater, regardless of bitcoin going from $3,000-$100,000, they wouldn't understand a thing because they are going to be closed minded.

Sometimes, these instances is also an opportunity for you to prove them wrong and enlightening them. Many people still need to be educated as to what Bitcoin truly is.

For me, there's nothing to proved, Bitcoin has been with us for the last ten years, and we all know that it will continue for the next decade or so. Let them discover the benefits of having Bitcoin and let them discover the opportunity and benefit they can get from investing on it.

5867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Will Skyrocket to $100,000 in 24 Months on: January 26, 2020, 03:10:12 AM
I don't know if we are going to hold the predictions of this so called 'experts' here. I mean most of them have some incentives or intentions behind predicting exorbitant price of BTC. Still remember John McAfee $1 million prediction? Well, he did back out from it, because he admitted that he is just hyping it up. Yes, halving are a good catalyst here, but I have doubts if we are going to see 5 digits after that. Another thing that you have to think about is that where the hell is all the money going to come to push the price to even $50,000?
5868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fraud victim,75, loses £11k in life savings! Secure your BTC just now! on: January 26, 2020, 02:53:31 AM
BBC reported that a 75-year-old woman is warning others of the dangers of an online scam that has cost her her life savings. She lost 11K EURO!! You can see the news from here, https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/uk-england-devon-51205126

Guys, don’t think too much to spend 100-150 USD, buy a hardware wallet right now! You are not safe in any online wallet by 100 percent!

Well I pity the old lady, but if you have to look at it, she was defrauded or scam by someone. She was called upon by the scammers and she fall for the trap. It's not Bitcoin fault per se, it still up to the people or individual who are holding their coins.

I agree that a hardware wallet is a good investment, but for beginners, you should be very careful of your assets and don't believed everything you read or hear. And there are a lot of cyber criminals in this crypto-space, that's whey we need to be very vigilant and use our common sense here.
5869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 26, 2020, 01:47:19 AM
It was an extraordinary match, Nick Kyrgios victory made the Australian tennis fans happy after yesterday disappointed with the defeat of J. Millman who could almost beaten Federer.
The next match against Nadal will not be an easy match for both.

Like I mentioned in a previous post before the tournament started that the fans will get behind Nick Kyrgios this year because of what he is doing for the bush fire relief fund. I think we are going to see a good match against Nadal and I really hope that it goes the distance as Kyrgios has shown before that he can match it with Nadal and even beat him so its going to be a great match up. I can't believe all the shock losses we are seeing with many top seeds losing, mainly on the Women's side. I think it opens up the door for Halep and Barty. My futures bet on Federer is still alive, just as he almost lost to Millman, I'm a little upset that Tsitsipas was knocked out but Raonic is a very good player.

I agree mate, fans are behind Kyrgios now and this is a big boost of confidence on his part.

It will be a huge match against Nadal, we all know that this two has a history in the past, so I'm sure this could end in a controversial match. Interesting to note that Nick leads 2-1 h2h as far as hard court is concern. So this match makes it very more interesting specially for bettors out there.

I'm looking at Halep now, seems she is strong at his AO, Kerber and Gauff could be a dark horse. Yes, who will not upset by Tsitsipas getting ousted this early, on the other hand Raonic is not that bad, it's just he fall out of the ranking because of injuries and he is back definitely with a big upset on Tsitsipas. He will be facing M. Čilić another good un-rank player in this tournament.

5871  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most popular cryptocurrencies for investors? on: January 25, 2020, 06:25:17 AM
Bitcoin is on top for a reason and one of them is that it is the best and most popular crypto so far. I know that there are a lot of flaws (fees, slow confirmation etc), but still Bitcoin remain the dominant crypto, so just have to look at coinmarketcap and see how majority of investors are pouring their money on it. As for altcoins, Ethereum and the rest of the top 10 altcoins, I consider. them as good investment as well, but you have to understand that everything really goes on top - Bitcoin. So depending on your risk appetite, BTC will be the most recognizable crypto and a good bet to invest.
5872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Conor McGregor vs Manny Pacquiao on: January 25, 2020, 05:58:12 AM
.. snip ..

Arum told ESPN.com on Wednesday that he would like to make a two-fight deal for Crawford to fight UFC superstar Conor McGregor. According to Arum, one of those fights would be a boxing match and the other would be an MMA match.[/i]

Source https://www.boxingscene.com/arum-wants-crawford-mcgregor-octagon-boxing-ring--146126

LOL, so Arum is riding on the Conor bandwagon now. I'm sure that if he still have Manny Pacquiao today, he can set up the fight and milk the hell out of it. So I'm not surprise with his statement though, we all know how Arum works, if the money is good, then go for it. I was wondering though if he is in the same page with Crawford, specially an MMA match with Conor.
5873  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Alert: Stay away from this! on: January 25, 2020, 05:12:08 AM
Here is a fake offer: Elon Musk — Official ETH and BTC Giveaway

This is the fake site: http://muskgift.com/

This will show you a UI similar to Medium platform but, please note that medium platform URL has medium.com. This is fake.

Do not send funds to this offer. I would say do not send funds such stupid things.

The comments shown on the site are fake as the UI itself is faking medium.
Anyone who would fall for this is plain stupid. Sad that people are this desperate to scam money off people. They could have earned more if they focused on doing something better other than scamming people.
Anyways, post it no the "Scam Accusation" board. That is the correct place for this kind of threads. Just gather some proof, post it and let people know about them. Like the user above me said, many people goes through to the scam accusation section in order to how legit a site/project/coin etc is.

Yes, but there are still people who fall for this kind of trick. It's just sad though, we should be very very careful and use common use before investing on this so called 'giveaways'. There is no shortcut in earning Bitcoin, so I don't understand why people thinks that someone will readily give you money without doing anything.
5874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 25, 2020, 04:11:36 AM
Today is day of upsets in Australian Open as have many big players out of tournament Tsitsipas, Bautista-Agut R, Williams S, Keys M and Osaka all gone now lets watch who is next to have ticket for home tomorrow.

Yes, lots of upsets as early as today, the biggest one is Naomi as I have said. Bencic is also ousted, and so is the #2 seed K. Plíšková.

@Strongkored - Federer still proved that he can pull the trigger, he is not yet done, I do hope that he can reach as far as quarter finals, won't be an easy road for him, but let's see.
5875  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now that we touched $8,000, what's next? on: January 25, 2020, 03:51:05 AM
Well touching $8000 is just the beginning, currently the price is hovering $8300 and there could be a chance that it can go down once again. We can't say that $8000-$9000 is stable, we all know how the price fluctuates everyday, one day we will see the price getting above $9000 and now we sinks with minus $1000. So again, be prepared with some corrections along the way, we're not get in the bullish trend as others might suggest. A lot of things can happen along the road, maybe we can go back to $6000 for all we know.
5876  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the ways i can cash out Bitcoin in another country? on: January 24, 2020, 12:57:51 PM

If i ever go to another country and try to cash out Bitcoin,

what are the ways?

Only two things i can think of...

1. Make certain bank account where i can cash out Bitcoin

2. In person

1st option may not be possible though at certain country...

Any thought?

Really depends on what country you are going to visit. If you are visiting a country that is a Bitcoin friendly and many are trading locally thru LBC then it will be easy for you. I still remember tourist going on Thailand and just bringing BTC with them. And when arrived on the tourist destinations in Thailand, they find a lot of local traders, so that's one example how convenient for you to bring only Bitcoin in a country wherein it is readily acceptable.
5877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 24, 2020, 12:34:52 PM
Serena Williams lost the chance to add more Grand Slam title to her records after losing 3 sets from Q. Wang.

Ouch, she is not the worst case for the women's side. Gauff defeated Osaka 6-3, 6-4 in the third round. This 15th year old is already showing some sign of being a great tennis player. Damn, I'm not really sure of the odds, but I'm looking at her that can make an upset to Osaka.

In the men's singles S. Tsitsipas vs M. Raonic. The match will be interesting because Raonic is one of the tennis players with fast serve, Tsitsipas is more favored to win this match because of his good performance.

My boy lost to M. Raonic, too bad  Sad. Federer trying to close John Millman on the 4th set.
5878  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin & Its Momentum on: January 23, 2020, 08:16:44 AM
As it stands, Bitcoin along with many other Digital Currencies have been on a Rampage recently. Some achieving all new highs while BTC is sitting on top of 9k+ usd. Only question that comes to mind now is what next? Will it have enough momentum to break thru to the 10k usd mark or will we see a major price correction? As usual any thoughts and comments are more than welcome.

It's not a rampage, although the whole market is somewhat green, we are still far from all time highs, most altcoin at most are still in the -90% from previous high. Only Bitcoin is somewhat recovering, but we still need to touch 5 digit again. $10,000 is very much doable, we just need more blood to pump the price and FOMO to set in again. I'm speculating that as we approach block halving, we might touch 5 digits again, so let's see how it will pan out in the future.
5879  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 Bankers Accused of Earning €30M in Bonuses From German Fraud on: January 23, 2020, 07:24:12 AM
Is this news shocking at all? No it isnt.We have seen already in the past about these Bankers got involved into any fraud or shady bonuses and this isnt a new business or new thing.

Not shocking to be honest, we all know that there are a lot of sheep in wolf's clothing, many still exist up to this day. Those bankers are one of the most corrupt to be honest, it's that some of them are really powerful and can't be simply touch by law. Good though that German government are clamping down hard on them. I'm sure this will not be the last and we will hear from them in the future. I remember in our country, a similar crack down happen, but then again, they have so much money that they can bend the law.
5880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Increasing Number, Who Own 1 bitcoin on: January 23, 2020, 06:42:06 AM
In my experience, it is not easy to earn 1 bitcoin so I think most of them are investors.

What is your opinion about this? How does it affect bitcoin?

Well its tough, but if you are a smart investor, this is going to be easy, even casual or average joe's like us can earn 1 BTC. The problem is that many newbie investors think that it is hard because they are thinking of putting all their money just to get in that 1 in 21 club. You can simply invest .01 BTC per month and in 10 months you can save/invest 1 full BTC already. Of course it will definitely have a impact on the price later, as demand will be scarce that will eventually push the price, maybe a new all time high in the next 2-3 years.
