If you have studied Liverpool FC this season, you will understand that they don't have much problems playing big teams. They dont appear as threat to Liverpool, is nothing to them. If you look at PSG's defense it's a complete mess, first I think that the players are not up to standard but when I think about it I start to think that they are disorganized and I think that also goes down to the manager who is like you said. PSG's defense isn't the best but it's far from bad if the Manager can't manage it properly. With proof PSG had to be eliminated in the UCL and in Ligue 1 conceded a lot.
PSG has so far only focused on investing on the front lines, but they have forgotten about the back line which is in chaos galtier must seek major improvements to PSG's back line otherwise next season PSG will always be eliminated from the champions league and may not be able to become champions of ligue 1 again A defense line that consists the likes of Sergio Ramos, Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, Achraf Hakimi, Juan Bernat and other top quality player shouldn't be seen as a week defense because these are few of the the best defenders in the world. Though injury crises might play some parts in PSG's poor defensive performance this season but I still think the main problem of the club since Thomas Tuchel left is the managers that's been handling the team. Their tactical approaches especially in the Champions League has been short of excellent and that has cost the team the opportunities of lifting the trophy that has eluded them. I also believe that Newcastle united deserve to be in the top five and they still have enough time to improve their position, the gap between them and Tottenham is 4 points but Newcastle only played 25 matches while Tottenham played 27 match so they still have 2 matches to play, this will surely be a great opportunity for them to recover their place in the top 4 clubs

I think not having the consistency is the reason why they haven't won in the last 10 years as well. They weren't bad teams so far this many times in a row, of course they had some great teams along the way, but what happened is that they lost to teams that they could win against, which caused them to lose the league as well. Same will happen this year, Bayern will win because they win the games they need to win, and Dortmund lost points on a game that they needed to win and that's why we have such a situation at hand, we could have done a lot better and we are not seeing them potentially winning the league due to these type of games in the end. Borussia Dortmund's management should take the majority of blames and criticism they'll face if they fail to win the Bundesliga again this season. Why would they be selling out their best players to other European big clubs every year? Leipzig did carve out pretty good results in the first leg but overall Man City has performed slightly better than Leipzig and despite playing as a guest, Man City was able to win possession. I think Man City will have a much bigger chance in the second leg because they will be playing at home and the crowd would definitely be to their advantage. It would be a shame if Manchester City had to lose and be eliminated by Leipzig, because it is very clear that on paper they are big favorites to advance to the next round, in fact they are strong candidates to win the Champions League this season. The second leg will be played at their own turf, so they should be able to take advantage of it because they have the full support of their supporters in the stadium. Manchester City are favorites to win the tie against Leipzig on papers but football is not played on the back pages of newspapers of newspapers. Liverpool can be a very unpredictable team despite their bad form. Their unbelievable win over Manchester United is still fresh in minds. Manchester City are the biggest challenge on this road to the title of course. They couldn't beat them in Emirates so I wonder what will happen in Etihad. They couldn't beat Newcastle home as well. But maybe this time they would play better and get a close win at least.
Undoubtedly, Arsenal's remaining fixtures of the season will be a very difficult for them as a team but I'm backing the Gunners to lift the premier league at the end of the season. Manchester City's remaining fixtures might look less difficult on papers but that's not how football works, football is not played on the back pages of newspapers. It turned out that Rome still gave a very good resistance. although they were down to 10 men in the second half. but Rome is now more dominating the game. and has managed to score 1 goal back in the 50th minute by Dybala. and the current score is 2-3 and of course Sassuolo is still 1 goal ahead in this match. but Roma decided not to give up and it would be very dramatic if Roma could even the score in this fight.
Behind 2 goals early and having to lose players made Roma really not go well in the first half. Even though it was quite an exciting match in this game and Roma managed to reduce the deficit but this was a loss for them and of course it's not going too well now for Roma. Even though the top 5 positions are still safe, if Milan wins, of course they will be left behind from the top 4 hunt. Sassuolo looks like the nightmare team for the big names of Serie A as they are winning against a couple of such strong teams in Serie A and this lost game from Roma at home was totally unexpected.When Roma lost against Cremonese,the last place some couple of weeks ago I thought that it was just a misfortune for Roma but now that I see that these things are starting to happen often it means that Roma is not in the best of their form and I think it will only become worse for them,losing 2-4 at home is a clear indicator that the team has big problems,especially when they concede 4 goals at home,the red card impacted the game but a big team like Roma should be able to play even with 10 men. playing with 10 men is never easy, because the opponent plays with numerical superiority! Sassuolo this year is applying for the team to play big dunks, they play really well, Roma, on the other hand, aren't exactly in shape like you said and losing at home makes things worse. Mourinho will have a lot to work on now wouldn't sight Roma because they are 10 men. They caused the whole thing. Roma - Sassuolo was one of the most interesting matches in the Serie A recently. I never expected Roma to experience this much struggle truthfully. But Sassuolo just repeated a similar scenario they had against Milan in an away match before. The only difference was that Roma were able to resist more at least despite that red card. The red card call wasn't wrong at all by the way as it was evident on the replay. Sassuolo are a very interesting team really. They can be a nightmare for big teams sometimes.
Roma's goals were still impressive though. Zalewski and Dybala's goals were definitely worth watching.
I don't believe Roma can seriously conceded four goals from Sassuolo because of their consistently strong defensive play. Given that I don't have high expectations for Sassuolo, I really appreciate that they performed to my satisfaction today. If they can keep going in this manner, that will be wonderful. With 48 points, Roma is currently tied for fifth place with AC Milan, who will being playing their game tomorrow against salernitana. Since Roma's next game is going to be against Lazio, I may say that Roma will probably lose point again because Roma will visit Lazio at its home stadium, which will be a huge advantage for Lazio. It could have been a great win for Roma assume they won today's match that could make their top easier. Even though Southampton put a lot of pressure on them and all of their attempts to score were unsuccessful, Manchester United still gave it their all today. Casemiro's red card also helped Southampton out, and according to the statistics, they had the same number of shots on target. I already knew the game would end in a draw, so at least Arsenal brightened my day today, but even then, they need to work harder because Manchester City is seriously thrilling them. and west ham also playing a draw against Aston villa.
This is hardly Manchester United's all if you would ask me. They very much had enough potential to had win this game even with a red card. They just weren't confident enough that they could manage it and that was there major issue. There lose to Liverpool definitely had a part to play in this and the team being conscious enough not to lose any point to keep them in the race for the top four at least because, they don't have it together anymore. Arsenal on the other hand had such a game like no other and the goals just came pouring all in, in the first half. Sadly they couldn't keep the goals coming in the second half and had to end it from the first half. At least, they still get tighten there grip on the league still. Manchester United's performance today was truly short of most people's expectations. In a match that was played in Old Trafford majority of their fans thought they were still gonna steal the maximum three points today despite Casemiro's red card but at the same time, one could pardon them for taking a point from the match after playing with 10 men for over 55 minutes of the game. Arsenal on the the other side are giving doubters too much reasons to start changing their thoughts about them. I'm sticking with Arsenal as the favorite for now. By far the most stable team of all remaining teams in this league. Yes, they had a hard time against Sporting, but they could have won that match. And Juventus is certainly not there yet either, they achieved a 1-0 victory in the home game at Rennes, but that is of course not convincing at all. Juventus could well be eliminated I think. And then we have United. they have of course taken a big step towards the quarter-finals with the 4-1 victory, I don't see Real Betis winning 3 or 4-0 against United at home. And then let's see what the draw will bring us next week.
Arsenal is playing extremely well this season shouldn't be underated. Their attacking style of play and how clinical they are in front of goal since the start of the season is magical and I think it is the reason why some people are rooting for them to win the Europa League this season. However, I don't see Arsenal as the favourite team that should be winning the Europa League at the end of the season. Arsenal are more concerned in the domestic league than the European second tier cup and that's why I think either of Juventus or Manchester United will win the Europa League. |

Monaco had to accept defeat at home against Reims in today's match with a narrow score of 0-1. Statistically the two teams actually played a draw, but Reims took the lead through a goal scored by Balogun in the 51st minute and closed the victory for Reims until the game was over. With this result Monaco must remain in 4th place in the standings and only 3 points away from Lens.
It was really a hard one to swallow. Monaco at home wasn't impressive. The left the whole dominance to Reims, both the possession and attempts. If not for the drop down in their performance, they would be ahead of Lenz in the top 3 standing. I wouldn't believe Monaco will find it hard to locate the back of the net even in their home, after a awful results in their last 4 matches. Philipe Clement needs to do something quick else Rennes will take him off hard. |
