I have not seen additional speed for eth 12 x 470 8g ![Cry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cry.gif) @marvykkio what are your core and mem settings for these? with or without modded bios? thanks My mining speed is the same as 7.4 - 29.3mh (RX480 core 1150 mem 2100) thanks, but i really want to know about RX 470 8gb. 1100/1950? core clock 1260 memory clock 2100 power limit + 13 core voltage -12 fan speed 70% intensity 20 1100 mv @marvikkio Thanks, not sure that I can use these with a modded bios, though.

"My thinking about this case become very uptight"
something even simpler:
1 btc=1 bitcoin 1 bts=1 bitcoin etf share=10-2 btc=bitshare

I think it may be too late now. Coinbase, Bitpay and a few others tried to introduce 'bits', 100 satsoshis, and that went nowhere.
If Satoshi hadn't been balls deep in computer science, he would've realised most humans don't want strings of zeroes before the numbers that count. He should've either started off with many more primary units or made the change when it was just starting to get somewhere.
Well, maybe, but I surmise that people would like to trade etf-equivalents in "pure" bitcoin, hence the need. Current bits (10-6 btc) are made up and too far from a meaningful value yet. 10-2; call them bet(s) if you want to ( bitcoin etf equivalents) OR bif(s) ( bitcoin et f equivalents) maybe someone will propose something better (@york780: bitshare is good too)

ETF: looks like it is getting closer as Winkies just filed an amendment changing the number of shares for the initial trade from 100k to 500k.
With that, and in the interest of liquidity while trading bitcoin proper, maybe we should at least consider some units other than btc. Otherwise soon we might have too many zeroes before numbers for small purchase (quite soon).
I know about bits (10-6) and mbtc (10-3), but what about something similar to bitcent (10-2), which would be an equivalent to 1 COIN ETF share:
My name candidates (for 10-2 bitcoin):
bitt (bitcoincent) bitty (same meaning, but softer) betf (bitcoin etf unit) #not very conducive to pronunciation, I know
Any ideas? Overall, I think that trading in 'etf' units might be helpful for newbs and those who like buying things by the 100s (similar to stocks).
The units are already defined. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/UnitsI am just proposing a short hand for bitcent (centi-bitcoin is a mouthful) ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) defined by whom? wiki contributors? nonsense, we can change them if we want to 'they' also defined: bitcoin-bong; bitcoin-ton? WTF!?

EDIT (maybe better): 1 btc=1 bitcoin=current unit 1 bts=1 bitcoin [etf] share=10-2 btc=bitshare (this term was coined by @york780 below)
Any ideas? Overall, I think that trading in 10-2='etf' units might be helpful for newbs and those who like buying things by the 100s (similar to stocks).

^^^Well, based on comparison with 2011-2013 we are coming up shallower, but had a couple of sharp bumpletts already. Most likely scenarios: 1. we are about to undergo a "phase transition" and go for a sharp local super-exponential peak OR 2. wiggle down to -1.2-1.25 before doing #1
Both scenarios would favor long positions, but wiggle down to $800-900 might be possible on ETF rejection, for example, which would be hopefully dismissed by the market. jl2012 provides numbers for the all-time high, but I am curious, what would 1 or 1.5 peak look like in current numbers (1.87 might be too extreme).

Question: if you convert PASC, decred or sia to eth or btc, how much more earnings would you get with the dual mode? Does power use increase as well? I assume so, but how much?
Also, how do you list adapters to know which one is first, second, etc.? Does this command exist or i have to use system tools? Thanks.

Between all my buddies I think we secured about 50 of these. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Yeah today's price was really good. I have been using them since May of 2016 my favorite mining board. well, their RMA policies are questionable, right? ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

@BigWolf and @z(10) thank you so much, I think I finally got the full picture.. I used chmod x+u 'filename' before...755 is advanced ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Final touch...I just start the whole caboodle (after modding the miner.sh) with just ./miner.sh ? Much thanks again...so much to learn.

Change that so it has your information. By default it is setup for Flypool. If you use something different, comment out the flypool and uncomment the section you want. Just change the info to match your wallet. That is all you really have to edit in the file. And yes, you can use nano, gedit, vi, any of those or any other favorite text editor. It's just a text file. This is the file that actually starts up optiminer and keeps it running.
Thanks again, but this what I am really confused about. I am starting the miner with a string in terminal (similar to what I show below), NOT by accessing the mine.sh What does entering all this info in mine.sh gives you?An ability to start anywhere without cd-ing into optiminer-zcash folder? Once you put all info into mine.sh, do you just start it with cd optiminer-zcash ./mine.sh instead of ./optiminer-zcash -s eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333 -u t1NF6yLUxAAttibU8mzfX86o8aWLcqF38DX.rig1 -p x Or something else that I am missing? Thanks again

Thank you very much. At least i got it now where to start.
Although, I am not sure what "setup mine.sh" means
Do you mean, open it up with nano, for example, and edit context? To do what? Automatic start? can you give an example of such setup, please?
Typically, i just make a mining string text file including executable, then copy and paste into the terminal window. Lo tech, would like to do better.

Wow, BTC price hit $1126USD today and is still rising. Economics would suggest around $1200 to keep a par with the block halving in July. It's nice to see it getting up, especially as miners because we get the the same amount of BTC no matter the conversion ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . Glad to have pointed my first 13.5 S9 at the pool ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I am looking forward to the next one, in a week, but still need a PSU. far from it, you forgot about difficulty rise on the top of halving. we are getting about 2.5 less per th on top of 2X less due to halving. However, we got 2.5 times more efficient machines, so it is not as bad, but it will be if price rise stops or reverses and difficulty continues to rise for a bit.

Could you share the watchdog code on Linux, please. Somehow, I am not getting it (what I saw before).

^^^ most likely it just means that they got it after the cutoff time as indicated in your imgur...routine, happened to me a few times.

My order has arrived, just 2 S9 one installed and working in my server room, the other is at home - but not for long as it's way too loud.
fount out that all of my wife's candles were melted in a goo at the bottom of a container. haha Put them in a data center before the wife finds out! haha put candles in the datacenter, ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ? busted either way, unless you can un-melt them OR replace with an identical new ones. Why they always say: "Can I talk to you for a minute?"

Hopefully the Biggie prototype works without a lot of issue. If it does I'll look into batching; it'll require juggling back and forth between Biggie and 2Pac (heh) for a while. Gonna need multiple buttloads of ASICs.
check the @yochdog auction on ebay, maybe he will sell at some discount here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-Of-Bitmain-Antminer-S5-/192106981757lots of disassembly work, though... 99X30=2970 chips, if i am not mistaken in my math.
