5881  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: March 07, 2016, 12:13:25 AM
If you are serious about stopping with gambling I would advice to find a hobby like sport.
You can watch it in the evening and play it during the day. Because it's healthy you will live better too.
I seriously to get out of gambling. I've been doing sports and playing playstation. but during leisure time I would always try to look livescore and trying to bet back. oh it feels wasted effort
haha i've same bad experience too when try to get out from gambling in first week all going well forgot gambling by doing some activies like sports, fishing, etc. but in second weeks i already deposit in gambling site.
the only way to get out from gambling is when you dont have some money. i'm sure you just can see liverscore but you can't gamble
Lower the starting bankroll. Try to withdraw early, but gradually dwindle the amount of bets/wagers that you do. When you start doing less of what causes the addiction, you start to lower your demand for it, along with your supply... (economics, woo!) and once you reach a level where you feel comfortable with an incredibly little amount of doing it, you can just simply stop and quit the habit.

Give it a shot. Start with what you usually gamble with and TRY to decrease it. If you can't, then you might wish to seek some help.
5882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any advantages from gambling? on: March 07, 2016, 12:03:13 AM
Well I guess the one advantage can be to run your own casinos. However you need large capital to do that. And most rich people don't gamble to make money in the first place. So catch 22

Yeah building a casino cost a lot of money but it can be profitable.
For the users i don't see very much profit. Most play or gamble for fun or because they want some thrill out of it.
Worry not. It's not necessarily about profit, really. Do you play sports, or do hobbies for the goal of profiting? Most people would say, "no" and the same thing should be applied to gambling. Gambling, for the sake of entertainment is fine - although some people may think that they can profit, at the end of the day gambling is used purely for fun. Most people are addicted to the potential of gaining a jackpot at low odds, not to the money. People would get bored if they won every single bet without any worry.

*looking above*
Hm... YoBit, YoBit, YoBit... Bitmixer... YoBit...

OP said this early November, before the bubbles. Hence, they SHOULD have invested in Bitcoin. They would've nearly doubled their investment if they decided to do so. It would've been a good choice. Yet even now I would say that if I had $10k available to freely spend that I would go and invest it in bitcoins.

No risk, no reward.
5886  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Senior Member legendster's Multimedia Services on: March 01, 2016, 12:43:51 AM
Let me tell you how.
You TELL your client that you have years of experience under your bag, which - I admit- is a LIE, you show them a portfolio which has a LOT of work. Mostly that aren't yours. Because nobody wants to hire a noob.
But when you GET that job, you work! You work like there's no tomorrow and you MATCH that fake portfolio's quality.
That is how THAT 17 year old green rookie turned into THIS 24 year old "professional".

And guess what? That student portfolio with an awful content quality is now filled with work that pleases a LOT many people and why don't I share my portfolio online? because I don't want a rookie like I was, to find my portfolio and do what I have done.

Do I understand right that you try to explain its absolutely normal to deceive someone in order to get a job? You would also write in your CV that you worked for NASA and tell some fantasy story in a 1:1 job interview just because you think you would get that job? In your head you excuse that lie because you think you are the best astronaut in the world?

Thanks for telling how things works - what the fuck is going on here?

In case I misunderstood, im sorry, but if that shit there is supposed to be real, I believe you are still stuck at 17 in your head.

Let me tell you "how" this will end up when you, one day, enter the real world. You pull that shit and something goes wrong, you end up with a fine for fraud, pretence and misrepresentation.

Following your logic, why dont you call yourself Salvador Dali Jr. and claim you are some long lost son who actually painted some of the stuff his father was credited for, then you get the job and you MATCH that work.

I do understand your logic (I think) but...that is so so so wrong, and people here shouldnt take this serious. The day one of your clients find out about the lying part, no matter how good you are, they can legally just tell you to fuck off with no pay and any court will confirm it. Everyone is prepping up his cv with some nonsense, everyone who speaks 3 sentences of french writes crap like "French Language: Advanced" etc, but this is an outright fraud. Its like, Sony and Pioneer are 2 companies and I want a Sony, you show me pictures of Pioneer with a Sony logo and tell me its 100% a Sony...but then you better make 1000% sure I dont notice you sold me a Pioneer.

I wont doubt you are talented, but if I seriously understood this above well (I had to read it twice..but perhaps Im missing something), that gets my vote for "surreal" argument of the month. You just try to speed up your career by deceiving because you wasted 4 years in some shitty school and argue with some weird form of necessity.

Dont really care about the topic and claims itself but this little explanation .....S U R R E A L ...

Just as an addendum for this argument against legendster's point: if they are able to "match" the fake portfolio's work, then they should be able to create work of their own of that substantial quality to make a REAL portfolio, instead of having our first impressions of them to be sleazy.

I mean... if you have the skills, why not show them off? If you are even able to do the art in the first place, that is.
5887  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Senior Member legendster's Multimedia Services on: February 29, 2016, 02:27:41 AM
Seems stupid. He should have at the very least distorted the images a little bit so you couldn't do a reverse google image search. I'm sure that the images were simply stolen randomly. Looks like legendster just found the images and then slapped a watermark on it.

Not sure why he would do this if he was expecting people to pay for his services - once they see his REAL work, they would most likely bomb him with negative feedback (maybe he wanted them to send first?)
5888  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not just print dollars? on: February 29, 2016, 01:06:48 AM
I don't think they can just print money. There has to be something behind them. Something to back them up. Like gold or something.
Ignorant answer. In reality, these fiat currencies are backed by... nothing. There aren't enough goods to sate the value of the paper money if everyone decides to "cash out" their finances for gold. There isn't enough gold. They just continue printing and printing.
5889  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: February 28, 2016, 10:38:18 PM
It could be 0 or 1000 Euro at best. Nothing more.
Oh boy, when 2020 rolls by, we'll see what happens. I have much higher hopes for bitcoin than having 1000 Euros be its highest when it hits 2020. I expect the price to be 1000 euros, at a minimum. There are still 4 years to go, and I still think that's a lot of time for bitcoin to really grow and be publicized much harder.

I believe that there's going to be much more demand in the future, for the halving in 2020. Perhaps we'll get a glimpse as to what will happen after this year's halving comes.
5890  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you like to be able to buy with BTC online? on: February 28, 2016, 10:33:14 PM
I want to be able to buy food online with BTC. If restaurants (with delivery options) decide to include a new bitcoin payment option, then it would be fantastic. It would just make everything so much easier for bitcoin users: instead of exchanging to fiat currency and then paying online that way, you can just directly send the bitcoins.

I wouldn't mind having every single pizza I buy to be paid by using bitcoins!

I'm playing a bit of this. I agree with Ryan's feedback, but I have some input of my own to add in:

I think that it would be better if you added in a tooltip for what the orange cross arrow did. I'm assuming that it means that it's a random choice, but it's not completely clear for me to see. I'd also like to see some timestamps for the chat for more context, or perhaps just an option for timestamps. I'm going to look forward to this PvP once there is a larger community. I think that's what really takes it off.
5892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: February 28, 2016, 08:08:11 PM
Try to find another safe places to invest your bitcoins instead gambling sites, i think that's the solution to stay away from gambling
Invest? Because when you invest, you also either win or lose. What is the difference? I hope you are just kidding.
I'm not trying to diss at your opinion, but investing in Ponzi is worst than gambling in the casino, IMHO.
Although I understand what you're trying to say, you're jumping to conclusions by stating that they're planning on investing in a ponzi scheme. They hadn't even revealed the nature of where they were going to invest their money in, so there's no evident reason to talk about ponzis. I know that investments are gambling as well, but investments are looked as safer options, and I personally believe that to be reflective. Don't invest in ponzis, obviously, but one could invest in stocks or perhaps even bitcoins?
5893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best strategy in Roulette ? on: February 28, 2016, 08:04:36 PM
Just practiced James Bond strategy little bit modified  and it works .

€105 bankroll

- €40 on 2nd 12
- €60 on 19-36
- €5 on zero

Repeat it , once you hit lost it all at small number, tripled it.

one of the stupid strategy i have ever seen. winning 15 € and loosing 105, if you loose at first roll, you have to win several time to take your loose.
No strategies really work. All strategies are equally stupid unless it's to leave the roulette table. Whether they split up their bets or decide to wager everything on a single number, they can still lose or win regardless of how much they decide to bet. Even changing the chance of winning doesn't REALLY matter if you aim for a certain threshold (unless it exceeds your payout) so in reality just go with whatever you feel like. I personally like betting my entire bankroll on one bet. That's it.
5894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your gambling stats? (Profit/Loss) on: February 28, 2016, 08:01:43 PM
I can't recall exactly, but I've lost about 0.7-0.8 BTC from my gambling experience, over a couple months. This is obviously a significant amount of money (enough to buy a modern-day console) but I feel like it was kind of worth it, in terms of entertainment value. I've had fun with bitcoin and gambling, and I think that although I used up a lot of money, that's essentially the same with any other expensive hobby. I just did it in the comfort of my bedroom.

Congratulations!  Money has been sent!

Sorry, but what's the context of this? I'm pretty interested in what this was. Was it a secret "easter egg" and to win the 10000 bits, you needed to reply that you got an easter bunny? (If so, I'd better look for some myself!)
5896  Other / Off-topic / Re: The craziest shit you can buy with bitcoins right now? on: February 28, 2016, 04:10:28 PM
Craziest shit you can buy is an dead shit alt coin which will give you no return .
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=599192.0
I think I've found the "craziest shit" then. The above links to "CrazyCoin". I bet it's the craziest shit(coin) you can buy with bitcoins right now!

[Couldn't find the coin on any exchanges. Sorry guys, I guess it's a souvenir item now]

In all seriousness, I think that most answers would probably be just sleazy illicit items like hardcore drugs and firearms. You already know this, though, because of a lot of Silk Road news. At least, you should.
5897  Other / Off-topic / Re: Getting My First Whole Bitcoin? on: February 28, 2016, 04:04:17 PM
I have been using Bitcoin since June 2015 and still don't have a whole Bitcoin.

What is the fastest way to get my first Bitcoin (without purchasing one myself)!

Please share any systems that you use, or PM me with the systme if you don't want it sharing with any other party.
Ehm, services? You can work for the bitcoins if you don't wish to purchase it with FIAT (unless you consider your hours to be a form of currency) but honestly, it's just much faster to buy it at an exchange or even somewhere online, like here or on localbitcoins. It takes quite some time to work your way up to a bitcoin if you aren't doing services or a pretty large project - you're not going to find yourself getting rich any time soon.
5898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider trading as gambling? on: February 28, 2016, 04:01:55 PM
in trading there are chart and analysis, if gambling it is based on pure luck

so i dont think its the same
yeah agree. you must see the history price, condition now, volume, etc
different with gambling you can play all the time
But at the end of it, you're still risking money, aren't you? That's taking a gamble.

gam·ble
ˈɡambəl/
verb
gerund or present participle: gambling
1. play games of chance for money; bet.
2. take risky action in the hope of a desired result.

You're taking a risk in trading, in hopes that you'll end up with a profit. That's risking money, which is... gambling. Sure, you've got analysis and strategies, but that's still gambling; take a look at people who have "gambling strategies" as well. They're not guaranteed to profit, but they offer some insight.
5899  Economy / Gambling / Re: "richest gambling sites"??? on: February 28, 2016, 03:57:13 PM
How 999Dice Huh

1. Wagered    1450535.29419529 BTC

2. Wagered    436301212685.12261963 Doge

3. Wagered    12426813.60403617 LTC

This site pays 99.9%. That's a house edge of only 0.1% You can calculate earnings this site and  Max Profit 40 BTC

999Dice's "provably fair" house edge turned out to be a scam, so we don't know for sure if their house edge is really 0.1%. You can view the thread exposing them here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=948965
In that case, why not raise the profit margin even higher then? I'm still pretty sure that even with all the money they'd scammed, that Primedice tops them. Primedice has just been around for such a long time, and if they were able to survive the Hufflepuff incident without any trouble (or revealing any issues) then they have to have had an ENORMOUS bankroll.

Why is a raven like a writing desk?
 any help with this answer?
P.S i already googled and wrote possible answers
The riddle in its first usage wasn't supposed to be a true riddle, but on the website here the answer was, "Because Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both of them."

An alternative answer could be, "Because they both stand on sticks" if you want to be clever about it. I'm not sure how OP chose the answer there - did you have a straightforward single answer for that question?
