Haven't seen much response lately from Tornike huh. Must be busy doing big things for us.

Anyone else got the special email bonus today? Bet 5 mbtc today on sports with min 1.3 odds, Bet another 5 mbtc tomorrow, and on Sunday get a free 5 mbtc bet.

A bit out of my comfort zone if I'm honest, but I plopped my first 5mbtc bet today on Liverpool ML vs Wolves @1.42. Should be the easiest 2+ mbtc for the weekend? Wink
5902  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking a few crypto myths - governments that allegedly own Bitcoin. on: December 03, 2021, 12:23:54 PM
So okay, we know what was seized. But do we know if anyone verified on blockchain is any or all of these seizures (I'm thinking especially the one from China) were actual Bitcoins, and not just some account on exchanges or some Bitcoin derivatives etc.

The UK I do remember had auctions for seized BTC and other crypto (I actually signed up and I remember the winning bids were actually priced higher than market rates haha) but can't say much for the others.

I guess this game will also end with Bust as MU is usually stingy with corners in his own league.  Undecided

And they gave Arsenal THREE corners before 3 minutes were up haha. And that first goal (de Gea injured and lying down, stamped on by Fred as Arsenal scored), I know, it feels unfair, but there was no foul. I'll forever quote the Beachball goal against Liverpool to say that a goal is a goal if there is no foul, no matter how the goal happened. And there's nothing you can do about it. A sporting team could always say Arsenal could look at a fairness "requirement" to give United a goal too but how does that count on bookies if that happens eh? What a game, can't say I've ever heard of a precedent.

Spurs took a lot of corners too, helped themselves to 8 by first half to take the game to 10 points.
5905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: December 02, 2021, 07:11:13 PM
Yeah, I'm the type of bettor that just puts money on to make the fights a little more entertaining. I usually do this for all sports. I usually have a big accumulator running with mixed sports, and just tick off the ones I got correct. There have been times where I've been so close to earning big money, but usually its the first couple of matches/fights that let me down, which takes the excitement out of it, as if it was the last few I would be on the edge of my seat anticipating it.

I rarely bet outside of football. Tennis is probably something I go to when I can't find football -- but yeah, there's a kind of excitement waiting on long accas spread out over a week or two, and hitting them one by one. It's when I do them all from a 1/2-day period where I usually lose the early legs.

UFC is still out of reach for me. If I bet, it's on an outright or single outcome. Definitely would bet more if it happened at better hours...

It's almost like an addiction come to think of it -- seeing an empty active bets list and scraping the bottom of fixtures list for something to bet on. Something that thankfully won't happen this month!

I have to say one really bad habit of mine lately is adding one live leg, betting on games I know little about from whatever's playing at the moment, trusting the bookies to be right with odds. Then when it loses, I double down on the other legs. Hasn't quite worked out this season.
5906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 02, 2021, 05:31:45 PM
^Yeah welcome to the world of painful accas. Always have to thank the favourites for letting you lose. Do it long enough and you'll even get accas that lose every leg, and had you taken all the underdogs, would easily be 1000x. I just wish I always had the balls to go long like that.

P.S. Since it's probably going to be temporary, I want to brag here before the night's games start that I'm top in the pool woohoo! A lot of catching up to do with hahay for so long, but results all went my way this week. I'll enjoy my moment up here for a while.
5907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 02, 2021, 04:45:48 PM
No man, 3-leg acca and barely 2/1 is really bad value for me, I'm with Trofo. Even specials below 10/1 I don't really look at much unless they were picks I would have easily made myself. Case in point, last night's French acca (Brest, Monaco, Strasbourg for 9/1, this was barely 7/1 on a regular acca and I wasn't sure about Brest but they took home a 1-0 win).

And thanks to the bumps on this thread. I was so busy today I totally forgot about Casino Live, which I was instantly reminded seeing this thread's notifications (not to mention the timely updates from you slaman29). Doing them all on auto now as we speak, such a crazy busy day!
5908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Do Young Investors Prefer Cryptocurrencies? on: December 02, 2021, 01:56:51 PM
The YOLO generation unlike the previous ones that prefer stability. Feels good being one of them Smiley

Wait, so which generation do you belong to? Haha. I see all the whining about pay and rent and costs of houses and all that, and I don't really get it. Maybe the 1st world generation today is feeling the pinch but in the 3rd world, it's always been that way, even for someone growing up in the 1980s/90s. That didn't stop us from trying to save up as much as possible, putting off today's fleeting luxuries for a bit of longer-term comfort.

Makes you also appreciate it a lot more. And ready for when opportunities like Bitcoin come along...

3 incidents already Welsh, yeah and this one was at Watford, spotted by a player. I don't want to add to speculation either, but for many fans these last weeks have been their first in a long time. Certainly the roof at Anfield was off way before kick off... all that pent up fanrage if I can call it that, I know cause I was a fan in my local league finally able to get to a stadium after some bans heh... I regrettably did one or two things I should not be proud of =D

Anyway, tight, tight, tight games and I was really lucky Villa got a goal in to give me full points (thanks Gerrard and Watkins), 3-0 for Liverpool again worked out for me, impossible to really predict their exact score these days the way they're just swashbuckling all over the pitch. Robbo and TAA switching flanks every so often, VVD in the enemy's box, Mane and Salah pressing near our corner flag, I just love the way we're playing now, it's as if someone forgot to tell them this isn't 5 a side and they actually have positions to be in haha.

It's not even first week December and already the scores are all over the place. I'd love to still finish top by Boxing Day but it's a long road ahead.
5911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 02, 2021, 06:34:23 AM
@Welsh I couldn't take my eyes of neither Salah nor Mane last night. Just when you thought they were at their peak, they both seem to have found another level to climb up on. Mane is way, way less likely to fall and/or complain now, he just gets on with it, while Salah is just confident, happy, and he doesn't any longer take all the shots (I remember him trying a backpass to Mane when 99/100 times he shoots). I have no idea how we'll manage in January... but Jota/Bobby could be quite special too... just not sure Mina or Origi fits in with them.

@judas @Joca97 I expected another big win, watching them the last few games you can't ignore just how on song this team is. I just wish we could play City and Chelsea now, as I'm sure we'd blow them away too, and we've got almost a full team. It wasn't all plain-sailing though, once Everton played quicker and more aggressive, we did have our weak moments -- though after Salah's 2nd, it was game over. Everton need to study what they did for the last 25 minutes before half time and 5 minutes after break as THAT is how they can fight for European honours.

@hahay yeah Villa getting a goal back (and importantly, through Ollie Watkins again who seems to be on the rise after Gerrard came in) is a good, good sign of things to come. And that they didn't resort to dirty playing as teams typically try against City is a big, big achievement.
5912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to accumulate more bitcoin other than buying with FIAT. on: December 01, 2021, 07:25:04 PM
In my country, I've yet to know one that actually pays in crypto :p

Besides, the adoption remains extremely low as well so not a chance. Still, doesn't stop me from investing with fiat haha

Freelance, my man. Freelance;) Work as an independent contractor, get a few clients, and they'll get hooked. I know a couple already who sidelined into blockchain and now even NFT, and it all started with getting them to pay with Bitcoin. You'll be really surprised to find out how many entrepreneurs are ready to go crypto, at least online, even without the numbers to back the business up at first. Especially the tech generation and "silicon valley" mirrors. Sure, they end up going altcoin route sometimes but hey, it's a win in the end.

Where did you see the Spreadsheet? A few days ago I just looked at the Leaderboard and it's no longer available. At that time I only saw 1 person who was in the first position, it turned out that there were many people who got the second grand prize. Congratulation on your winning the fewer winners the more prizes you get, hopefully not as much as you think.

I think he's talking about Casino Live, the campaign he updates every now and then. This refers to back when I guess he was counting the leaderboard manually and then later learnt could just copy and paste into Google spreadsheets haha.

The $25k Super 7 prize ended up given to one winner too I think with 41 points, and many second-placed users at 40 points. So some lucky guy walked away with a cool 0.5 BTC!
5916  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Elon calls out CZ over Binance issue; CZ got piqued, went out of context on: December 01, 2021, 12:20:57 PM
Doge transactions stuck for over a year? And Binance not paying out? How have I not heard of this? Naughty CZ! Surely all the wealth they have they can buy the Doge now and make those customers whole while fixing the issues with Doge devs?

Anyway. Two of the biggest egos in crypto space get snarky with each other. Just the latest chapter in cryptolandia, where exchanges no longer need to be professional as long as their CEOs meme it out on Twitter.

Why are we surprised?
5917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 01, 2021, 09:57:01 AM
I had on Newcastle 2-1 correct result but that red card i think killed them. They even leaded until the very end of the game but it Pukki destroyed my points to statt the week good. Good thing Leeds scored in the last minutes to give me at least 1.5 points. Hoping to see better results from other matches

I had 1-0, but the red card just did them in. Watched first half before switching over to Leeds and Toons were playing quite well even with 10 men, Norwich on the other hand, are so, so poor. Slow in the build up, total lack of creativity. Shelvey was punting dangerously all over the pitch, Saint-Maximin was doing what he was doing... I think they'd have won this easy if Ciaran didn't idiotically get himself sent off in 9th. He's too mature to not know he was a big idiot.

I actually needed a Leeds draw to salvage points too, so the penalty doubly ruined my night...

Honestly @buwaytress a few weeks ago I thought you were just gonna pull further and further away from the rest of us but look at the difference of having one week, and 2 games later, we are coming for you heheheh

Indeed, two misses when lots of others hit is ruinous haha. It felt good while it lasted up here, and this week should see someone else overtake unless my luck's riding today. Good luck, and nice seeing you guys nearby. Took you long enough Wink
5918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to accumulate more bitcoin other than buying with FIAT. on: December 01, 2021, 08:30:20 AM
As a freelancer, and to add some advice to all those who say "try to earn Bitcoin", I can give you one huge tip that worked for me when I first started out trying to bill clients in crypto: offer them a discount on your rates if they're willing to pay in Bitcoin. Make it a savings for them in terms of cost, and they'll be more likely to do it.

Then be prepared to teach them how to do it. For me, a simple Localbitcoins or local exchange was a good solution for them.

1)You could ask your employer to pay you in bitcoin directly some portion if he agrees to do so and it's not banned in your country.
It's not viable 99% of the time. That thing is processed in batches by the HR payroll and there are lots of hoops to go through just to payout.

And also the price volatility.

Which is why you talk to your HR about using a payroll solution like Bitwage (unfortunately I don't think they serve every country now but HR talking to them could make things work if you've got good relations with them -- which, as a side note, is really important in any job haha).
5919  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the sites where it is paid daily or weekly with STAKING on: December 01, 2021, 06:51:56 AM
A note first: this is NOT a recommendation, merely an answer.

I've tested out NEXO now and been using them for well over a year now. They pay your interest daily, a few hours after the turn of midnight GMT, and then the following day's interest is calculated on the new balance. Effectively, compounded interest.

This is purely centralized, but they do appear to be very active on socials, they do have more assurances than most:
- some level of insurance (only 1% of overall asset management but still better than anyone else)
- Bitgo custodial
- real-time blockchain proof of funds (but also centralised 3rd party)
- licenses in many jurisdictions including some US states

Just a note though. As of today, Bitcoin interest is quite low (1% APY) unless you're also willing to hold 10% of your portfolio in NEXO, in which case you can get about 5% APY.
5920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: November 30, 2021, 04:24:35 PM
Manchester City FC 3.95
Bayern Munich      4.90
Liverpool             6.15
Paris Saint-Germain 6.85
Chelsea               6.95
Manchester United 16.20
Real Madrid          17.40
Ajax                   20.20

Pure fourth place and their quotes are even higher than Chelsea's (how?). In my opinion, these are adequate odds, except maybe Real Madrid's underestimation.
By the way, there is a possibility that after yesterday's 7th Ballon d'Or for Messi, a tense situation will arise in the team due to this obvious injustice and ambitions of Mbappe and Neymar. At least I hope so  Grin

Don't ask me how Chelsea, the defending champions and EPL leaders, are below PSG. Don't remember early season but Ajax deserve better quotes and Real are Real... they love UCL and UCL love them.

And don't get me started on Messi. Love the guy but he must be embarrassed to be there on stage but as I said before, awards are popularity contests and this one's voted by journalists for a French awardee haha Wink
