5921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: November 13, 2020, 07:15:20 PM
Everyone can gamble but not everyone is capable, especially those who have some financial problem as gambling is not good for them.
Those who have financial problem should truly not gamble because gambling is not about making money, it is about fun, those that want to make money from it with haste will only lose, and that will be the result of a person that is having financial problem and gambling, gambling will only add to his problem. But, not only that, anyone that wants to make money from gambling thinking he can learn it and gain can not really make any difference, they will also lose at last, gambling should be for fun as the topic is suggesting.
5922  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which websites have hit you with random I.D Verification freezes on: November 13, 2020, 06:26:29 AM
Any of the exchange where their governments make it mandatory for the exchanges to enforce KYC are the exchanges that will enforce their customers to provide KYC, the KYC of a thing is getting stronger day by day as governments of certain countries are getting stricter in making privacy non-achievable by their countries. Exchanges like LocalBitcoins ans Paxful are part of these exchanges, that is why I can never use their service again. There are non-KYC exchnges like hodlhodl and bsiq that requires no KYC, but we do not know what can also happen in future with their governments that might also enforce them to enforce their customers to verify their accounts. I have seen noncustodial way the best.
5923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Importing addresses without sweeping on: November 12, 2020, 07:20:07 PM
OP is unclear on private key or address. Title and OP say about address.
You are right, normally private key can be sweeped, this often happens if someone wants to move his bitcoin from paper wallet to wallet like electrum because paper wallet generates only one private key. The op did not even know if it is one or two or more private keys.  And also private key can be sweeped but address can not. I will advice op to learn more about private key and wallets very well before making any move at all, he can ask more question here of anything he is not clear about.
5924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recover private keys from a corrupt wallet file on: November 12, 2020, 07:07:10 PM
You will need the private key to restore your wallet, or if it is seed phrase, and you said the back up file was formated and you were not able to get back the wallet file, I think you can not recover back your wallet. You should have written the private key offline and checking that it is 100% correct, you can not only depend on what can be lost or damaged like devices to store your private key. Also, you can have external devices like two or three cards or hard drives for the wallet backup instead of having it on the computer only, having two to three backup will be better in case of next time. I will advice you to not let anyone to scam you promising you to recover it demading for bitcoin or other money.
5925  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The european union moves closer to an encryption ban on: November 12, 2020, 06:56:44 PM
The governments as perfect as they think they are, they have not yet curtail the money laundering and terrorism with their KYC, AML and CTF terms and policies, with how perfect they are, criminals still make use of their fiats for criminalized purposes. Now, they want to end privacy finally in a way it will be possible for hackers to steal peoples information easily, this people is moving to the world where there will be no privacy, and the more they do it, the more the corrupt people are bypassing and succeeding in their malicious ways.
5926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where are the innovation of 2014 to 2017 in the Bitcoin community? on: November 12, 2020, 06:37:26 PM
Development is not as fast as we would like, but often we do not even notice any changes. In any case, we should expect something innovative in the near future.
This point is not clear, is it bitcoin or altcoin? If altcoin, then you are right, but if it is bitcoin, you are not right. A coin with market price of $250 in 2014 now with the price of $16000 today. What development did you want again, tell me any project at that time like bitcoin, no project is successful like bitcoin from 2014 to this time also. That said, bitcoin is also known more to the world and getting more adoption every day, as we are entering more into digital age, let us expect more bitcoin adoption.
5927  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Paypal opening up app crypto users on: November 12, 2020, 06:32:42 PM
This is a great move because it will help in bitcoin adoption but I can not use the service even if I am from US, I can make use of my noncustodial wallet for the payments, although I understand I will not be able to buy in some online stores with noncustodial wallets but I am good with that than using PayPal which I believe the fee will be high also. I like the move but I am not interested, I like my privacy very much.
5928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost more in the process to recover ? on: November 12, 2020, 06:25:41 PM
You know what they say, you win some and you lose some. This will serve as a lesson but at least your not that kind of man that would rage because of losing. Although for me, I would instantly stop if I at least see my profit from my gambling since I'm not a high roller. Some guys are only playing to waste time and some people are playing because they wanted to earn.
Nobody will want to gamble to waste his/her time, if they can predict the future and know they will lose, then they will not gamble. Many people or most people that gamble play because they want to earn. But in the process when someone has lost already, he needs to just stop gambling at that point because he will be filled with bad/poor mindset that will be tempting him to gamble the more, and this is the period people are more vulnerable to losses.
5929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is an entertainment? on: November 12, 2020, 06:19:28 PM
Gambling is considered a form of entertainment due to various reasons, but I will state two of them for you here to give you a good grasp of what's about it.
1. It is fun
2. It is profitable
Gambling is fun. Sure, you may lose a lot and that may give you headaches but what you skgned up for in the first place is the promise of fun. And the fact that it is profitable in one way or another makes it a form of entertainment. The viewers, audience, and the people betting themselves should get something positive back to consider it an entertainment. Which in this case is either cash, or fun.
Gambling can be fun and can not be fun.
If someone is addicted to gambling, then it is not fun, if someone is using amount he can not afford to lose, then it is not fun, if someone is selling properties because he want to use the money to gamble, then it is not fun. In that way it is not fun and not profitable, but could be life devastating.

Gambling is only fun when you bet in a way you are not addicted, not risking what you can not afford to lose, and betting with very low amount of money, and if you are able to control yourself, then gambling is good and entertaining.

But, gambling can be fun but yet not profitable, most people lose to gambling, but it should be in a way you lose what you will not think about and yet still being happy because the amount is not much.
5930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs more women. on: November 11, 2020, 07:56:29 PM
Bitcoin needs more women is a wrong statement if you permit me to say that, bitcoin did not depend on women, so why using such statements? What bitcoin needs are people, it can be men or women, irrespective of the gender. But, let us put it this way, that women needs bitcoin, also everybody needs bitcoin, because the price will still rise higher, making better future for bitcoin. The bitcoin better future will reflect into people investing in it, women included. Also, just know that more women are investing in bitcoin, especially in 2020.

5931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tax Question on: November 11, 2020, 06:32:00 PM
Let's imagine again that you have 1 bitcoin and got another one from your friend but for this reason, you gave him your TV instead. What about if no one will ever know about that? I guess you are from the USA because as far as I see people from this country take such things very seriously. In the country where I live, I can sell my smartphone, TV, washing machine, a fridge without paying anything to the government. We will have a deal in real life, he gives me cash, I give him what I sell and that's all. Why to tell the government that I sold TV and hey, come here and tax me. In overall, they don't care about such things too.
You can make use of self custody with ease in USA too or anywhere in the world to bypass the taxes. Making use of custodial services like coinbase that comes from USA are the real issue, I can come from USA and used other exchanges that are not from USA that will not include any tax, but using custodial exchanges or other custodial services should be totally discouraged. I buy TV or I sell TV is p2p while not sending the bitcoin p2p also because both of you can have bitcoin wallet without any custodial proverders.
5932  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Copy Trading... on: November 11, 2020, 06:26:03 PM
I may not fully disagree that copy trading is not good, but knowing that ignorance can lead to failure, traders should first learn about trading before starting to trade, traders should be disciplined and followimg the trading rules, traders should have good trading mindsets. After learning trading, then trader can try to analyse coins and market. He will be able to know the right step to take, either to make his own trade or be cooying others. As for me,  I can no copy trade, I analyse the the market myself and make my own trades, this may not be good for beginners but it is the best for experts.
5933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 11, 2020, 06:21:52 PM
We loss, because the players always think that He will win the bet on the next round. Then, sometimes there are other gamblers lose their money because of greediness, that's why I think this bad habit will always be part of the game in the gambling site.
I think gambling is beyond greediness, people that are gambling can also be greedy, but what I can say to this is that we should not see gambling as a business, we should not also gamble often, we should use the money we can afford to lose. In this case, it takes discipline and not having gambling addiction, if someone is not having both qualities, then greed comes in. We should also know that no matter how expert we are, the more frequently we gamble, the more likely the chances to lose.
5934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone try to "gamble" with ponzi scheme crypto scam services? on: November 11, 2020, 06:13:49 PM
I will not get into any ponzi scheme I will not use any money nor spend any money on that thing, it is not a gamble you will only spend money to useless thing if you will going to continue what you are doing. So stop this investing in ponzi and find another legit and suitable investment for you, better to gamble in online casinos rather than tolerating hyip.
I can only agree with you the more, because ponzi is just like using old people to pay new people in a way new people will lose, many people will lose eventually. I will advice people to also stay away from all sort of ponzi, be it gambling or other ponzi businesses. I will rather prefer to gambling in a legit way that is not ponzi at all because ponzi by nature is not good and should be discouraged.
5935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Multi bets vs single bets on: November 11, 2020, 06:09:22 PM
I think there is no gambling place that provides guarantees about big wins that can be obtained, all of them have risks that cannot be avoided, even though you have a lot of practice and experience, you still can't win 100%, indeed the safe way is to make a single bet rather than bet on a lot of games that won't necessarily win.
I like this opinion but can you see it the other way, normally gambling is risky, the betting companies never gone bankrupted because 99.99% of people that are gambling are losing to them while the betting companies are gaining. If you stake a single bet, you will increase the amount you will use to stake, and nothing guarantee that you will still win, I see accumulation as the best, using very little amount of money that you can afford to lose, thinking you have lost already and seleted big odds without you thinking to win, luck could come, and if you lose, you are not depressed but still happy.
5936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stanley Druckenmiller: another billionaire sees bitcoin as store of value on: November 10, 2020, 12:30:24 PM
It is not about a billionaire only saying this, it is obvious and we can see this ourselves, there was a time bitcoin was $0.8 and now at $15000, is that not a store of value and obviously to see. Even if the price has not increased to this such extent, because bitcoin is a digital asset, it makes it remain as a store of value. People that realized this earlier were able to make a lot of money from bitcoin. But with the adoption now, many people do not yet know bitcoin much, they will buy, the marketcap will still increase, the supply will reduce and all will be mined in a way the increase demand with little supply will increase the price of bitcoin the more.
5937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the new US administration be friendly to bitcoin? on: November 09, 2020, 08:42:52 AM
no, it will be exactly the same as the previous one and continue having the indifference attitude towards bitcoin while pretty much the same regulations are forced on any centralized service (such as exchanges) that work with bitcoin.
I think US is friendly with bitcoin to an extent, like now, there are over 8000 bitcoin ATMs in US, and also there are many crypto exchanges operating in US. But, what you meant about the regulation is true, but the same regulation is required while using fiats. We all know US to be the master of privacy invader, what we do not like as it is also a means of scam infiltration.
5938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: November 08, 2020, 07:31:03 PM
Only 1-1 for Juventus, Lazio managed to tie at 95', this happens when you can't score the second goal.
After 90 minutes, 4 minutes extra time was given, Lazio scored at exactly some seconds to the end of the match, it was so unlucky for Juventus that really disappointed their fans and people that bet them to win Lazio

This is an unlucky year for Juventus I think they will not win in the end.
I have not seen this year unlucky for Juvestus, there were seasons they had a very worse start but picked up to win the Seria A, they are the ones wining it all the time. In this season, they have not lost a single match, and all those above Juventus in the league will surely go below, and very possible Juventus to win the league even with AC Milan being in first position for now, the league new season has just started, only 7 matches played yet.
5939  Economy / Economics / Re: 1000 BTC moved after 10 years on: November 08, 2020, 07:21:10 PM
This should not be surprising at all, those who knew about bitcoin around that time, that also mined it was able to gained a lot.

What would you do with 1000 BTC today? Smiley
If I have such a huge amount of bitcoin, I will only make use of my hardware wallet and hold it. But, probably sell some for other businesses.

Cool
5940  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin dumping right now? on: November 07, 2020, 08:50:49 PM
I will say some people are thinking the price of bitcoin is a little affected by the presidential election, but they are just fomo, that is why they just buy bitcoin in such time and sell after the end of US election. I believe such people have collected their bitcoin already into fiat, while others still wait for the rally to go on, let us all still see bitcoin breaking $15000 again, and at that time which is very near, let us see it breaking $16000 as well. The people that believed US election caused the pump have all sold their bitcoin and resulted to the dump in price, while others that believe in halving and bitcoin as a deflationary currency will be the ones to gain more because bitcoin normally is increasing this time without the US election.
