The world of investing has long been accused of being a male-dominated “old-boys club”. Women in this environment frequently complain that they are frozen out, treated badly or have to work harder than men to make good.

So you would have thought that the 21st century’s developing fetch scene might have leveled the playing field between the sexes. However, evidence suggests the rush to online finance platforms and investments has done nothing to boost equality.

Instead, the digitally driven world of artificial intelligence, Bitcoin and blockchain is as sexually unbalanced as the banking, property and commodity markets industries that preceded it. Tech industries are inherently male-dominated for reasons that include boys being introduced to gadgets at a younger age, leading to just 16% of computer science undergraduates being female.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies first became popular in the geekiest parts of the tech and finance industries, both male-dominated. The early word was spread mainly on Reedit and forums for discussing video games.

You would really be expecting this common thing. Why? because male are adventurous and we know that Bitcoin is somewhat that techy that not all women cant really hook up on whats its all about.

This isn't solely talking about Bitcoin but in all sorts of things where male do still remain dominant. We aren't that underestimating that capability but male are just too highly reactive and do tend to
engage on things directly once it do poke out their interest.

Bitcoin doesn't need more women nor men because no gender is the limit on the ones that will engage or make use of it.Its free for everyone.

Bitcoin needs more women is a wrong statement if you permit me to say that, bitcoin did not depend on women, so why using such statements? What bitcoin needs are people, it can be men or women, irrespective of the gender. But, let us put it this way, that women needs bitcoin, also everybody needs bitcoin, because the price will still rise higher, making better future for bitcoin. The bitcoin better future will reflect into people investing in it, women included. Also, just know that more women are investing in bitcoin, especially in 2020.

So is it our fault that women doesn't become so eager in Bitcoin or crypto just like us?
For me it isn't about the gender it is all up to them we all made our decision and it's just that more men are interested in crypto than women.

Women investing more in Bitcoin
A study published in December by Bitcoin (BTC) fund operator Grayscale showed that 43% of investors interested in Bitcoin are women — up from 13% last year — and this number is actively growing.

As global financial conditions tightened, many people began to invest in real estate, gold and cryptocurrencies. Assuming that females tend to be more pessimistic than males about the global economy, their confidence in cryptocurrency could significantly increase in 2020. As such, many women found a safe haven in digital assets.

Tech industries are inherently male-dominated for reasons that include boys being introduced to gadgets at a younger age, leading to just 16% of computer science undergraduates being female.
So what is that you are going to do to change those perception, force women to take up jobs they are not interested, basically it all depends upon the interest of an individual what they want to do with their lives and in order to create interest you need to give them the option and even then majority will not choose tech industry.
Which country you are from to say that younger females will not get gadgets at a younger age  Roll Eyes. If that is the case then you need to change parenting practices which is discriminatory.

Women somehow unite when the talks are about cheating boyfriends. Men unite when there is something to look forward to and in this case, is the technology behind Bitcoin.

Seriously, there are just fewer girls who are into programming and figuring out computer science. But now that BTC is widespread, girls are up to conquer as well. I can see them providing trading tutorials as well on youtube. The Internet is a plain ground for all.

If I may ask, have you seen even in the current times, so many women trying to do any odd jobs that men willingly do?
Odd jobs like collecting garbage, construction, Road works?

The feminists always moan about the need for equality, but they only focus on white collar jobs. So just like Bitcoin trading and mining, very few women would dare attempt to venture because some think it's a waste of time. They only get interested when the price is good. I have only one female friend who has stuck with BTC through thick and thin. Some other I knew called it scam when the price dropped to around 3k.

It's not a gender thing. Bitcoin doesn't "need" more women. There was a time someone made a thread like this. He got various points including the fact that someone us in this forum are actually female. Saying that they are female doesn't boast the transaction speed at reduce the fee. Maybe you want to create some statistics, but bitcoin?, it doesn't need women (being human is enough).

The bitcoin better future will reflect into people investing in it, women included. Also, just know that more women are investing in bitcoin, especially in 2020.

To state that women aren't as invested in blockchain or finance is most likely correct, at least in numbers anyway. That is not to say that there aren't powerful women overseeing these industries because of course they are.

As for BTC in particular, there isn't a sex race to see which sex gets dominance. NO! BTC and all crypto is for all humans, and all those that want to use it. And it is true especially, today women are making more progress in their numbers across all industries, so there's no much point bringing about this discussion when there's no much value derived from it.

Have you really made research on it? In what country do you live? Probably, that is what happens in your country, but not in others.
And if you think about fewer women in Bitcoin, you also do not know everybody here, whether they are exactly male or female  Cheesy

I really want to ask, does the sex really influence the digital asset? Are women really limited to enter in the crypto world and technological world? DO really banks limit women's involvement in the digitalization era?

I don't know what happens to your country, but in my country, it is not. Everybody can get into the crypto world, even the exchange in my country needs KYC (in which it will tell the truth about the sex,), they will no matter whether it is male or female. there is no limitation about it.

..snipped..
This is what I mean, this study shows the truth, it may be only taking the sample, but at least, this is formal research...

Women in this era are different, they also want to involve in many more things. As long as there is no regulation about it, they will be really involved in what they want.

The women power is much important in each and everything. In simple the grasping power and the dedicated involvement into anything will be cent percent. On the top if a women finds it to be worthy, the spreading will happen in hypersonic speed. Women are getting into technology and as a part I expect the slow and steady increase in the number of women users.

So bitcoin was being accused of sexism and I didn't even know about it. Maybe it will be called racist and homophobic soon too.
As was said above, bitcoin needs more investors and it doesn't matter if they are men or women. Each person is unique and they have their individual right to choose if they want to try it or not and eventually the individual will to like it or not. The important thing is to give everyone the chance of experiencing bitcoin and learning something about it.

The world of investing has long been accused of being a male-dominated “old-boys club”. Women in this environment frequently complain that they are frozen out, treated badly or have to work harder than men to make good.

Where are you getting this information from? You can literally sit at home and invest in stocks. That can't be male-dominated now.

So you would have thought that the 21st century’s developing fetch scene might have leveled the playing field between the sexes. However, evidence suggests the rush to online finance platforms and investments has done nothing to boost equality.

You can't force gender equality by forcing people of a specific gender to use the platform. The process is online and very transparent I doubt services will provide subpar support or target only clients of a specific gender.

How is that a man's fault? The beauty and fashion industry are well dominated by women as well.

Last time I checked I did not have to send a photo of my genitals to play Bitcoin, apart from Bitstamp. If women are less interested that's on them. It's there waiting for them just as it is for the fellas. The vast majority of males are just as absent too.

Gender discrimination? That's wrong. Gender isn't something about the things that the men can do and the women can't do. There are things that both women and men can do. And for me here in cryoto world,  both men and women has their own privilege to work here as long as they want to because they are both humans with free will and skills.

Bitcoin needs people from different backgrounds for it to be successful in gaining mainstream acceptance. Women can provide a different perspective and their insight can be useful depending on the demographics you want to target. If you want to build a product that serves the widest audience possible it would be helpful to have diverse employees.

You would really be expecting this common thing. Why? because male are adventurous and we know that Bitcoin is somewhat that techy that not all women cant really hook up on whats its all about.

Adventurous is probably the wrong word.

Men are more prone to taking risks and women are more prone to try the tried and tested ways to do things... I'm not really sure why - even in a world where a lot of people are raised a bit more equally. I've think I know one male who's interested and knows how to use bitcoin and basically no one else url. I didn't introduce it to them but I've tried and failed to introduce it to others (they blame the learning curve - I think it's laziness)

Yeah but I don't think it's to do with people not getting gadgets when they're young...

There might be a disparity between ages though too and I can't speak for the 80s or 90s (maybe) but don't girls get tamagotchis, exersketch and other stuff like furbeez as well - they did from the people I knew so probably most of western Europe at least gets that sort of "equality". And women have a history of being codebreakers and computerists (especially around war time periods so idk why that's not coming across...
