Thanks for saving the thread.

Ferdinand’s assassination was not the cause of WWI.
Due to waves I have bought back in at these beautiful $700 prices and await the final euphoric spike due to push us above $3000 in late January.

What if WWI has already begun?
5923  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's over. Bitcoin is finished. on: December 08, 2013, 04:52:41 AM
I'm just wondering why you are here and posting sh** =))

Then go away and let us do the job without baby boys.

Censorship, Aren't you a liberal invested in bitcon too?

Everyone needs to debate the merits of bitcoin.

I have to admit I have lost some money but that's fine with me. I knew the ponzi game. But for those who weren't informed. They should be able to discuss what happened.

Practice what you preach.

Lol.   "Go away" does not equal censorship.

You've got a way of blowing things out of proportion I think.
5924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: casascius and other physical bitcoins is a fraudulent idea on: December 07, 2013, 11:26:53 PM
You don't have to buy the coins.

They are a novel idea for a physical wallet.

No one has to buy them.

Your argument is invalid.

5925  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why didn't you sell? on: December 07, 2013, 10:35:15 PM
I think it's because the last month convinced people that nothing can stop bitcoin from hitting the moon  Roll Eyes
I mean the main debate before the china crash was if bitcoin will reach 100k or 1m$ . It's not easy to sell after that  Tongue

Great so please concentrate with me:

Suppose you start off with 10 Bitcoins, market price is 1,200$
> China announcement is live
> You sell your 10 Bitcoins at 1,200$ each and you pay 120$ transaction fee (1% of total), and end up with: (1200 x 10) - 120 = 11,880$
> 2 Days later price of Bitcoin seems to stabilize at 700$
> With the 11,880$ you made selling your initial Bitcoin, you buy back Bitcoins at 700$ each. So now you'll have 11,880/700 = 16.97 Bitcoins
Remove 1% transaction fees and you'll get 16.8 Bitcoins

WOW! Magic! Guess what, you're 68% wealthier than 2 days ago....

So now couple of years down the line, you'll have 16.8 million dollars worth of Bitcoins instead of only 10 million dollars....

Capich?

First of all, your tone is annoying. But that aside, you don't seem to have very much experience trading in markets. You actually are using  hindsight to spell out how much money you could have made if... Then you have the audacity to act like everyone should have the ability to do that. That's not how short term trading usually works. And people who are successful at short term trading don't buy at the top and sell at the bottom over and over until they have "millions of dollars". In fact people who try to trade the way you described lose their ass every time.

If your juvinille advice actually worked no one would be poor. No wait...  See the simplest logic proves you are a fool.

But jump on in fool.  Put your money where your mouth is.  You'll likely be putting a timy bit of it in my pocket in the end.

Thanks.

By the way.  If bitcoin makes anyone rich in the end the vast majority of them will get there by buying and holding.  But that is another topic.

Ive been wondering this same thing.
5927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin wallet question on: December 05, 2013, 08:29:52 AM
Good luck fixing this, i never got mine to work, I keep my btc online
It's not something that is broken.
Bitcoin is a decentralized system if you use the Bitcion-Qt client then you become a node in this system. But that means that you need to have the full blockchain downloaded and verified.

Agreed that for the casual user this is very cumbersome and it's better to use a lightweight or web client.
When choosing a web wallet just make sure that only you have the private keys and make backups locally.
There where some web wallets that stole money or just closed down in the past.
. What are the best, most secure "web wallets"?

Blockchain.info is IMHO the most secure online wallet system.

They are really a lightweight JavaScript client and an encrypted  wallet.  All decryption is done client side.

You are still at risk from malware on your machine, and the risk is serious.  Just look for threads on lost bitcoins.

This post is a perfect example of why you mustn't 'do what you sell'.

if you're changing your username and are sticking around for a while, kill two birds with one stone: it's "analyst".

Only wish I'd bought one of your coins back when you first announced them as I considered. Ah well...  As to the above:

My biggest piece of evidence: I have established an online wallet and provided the address to whole economics department and information on how to check it.

Why don't you point the "biggest piece of evidence" to a charity address or well known bitcoin organisation donation address, instead of your own?

There are already about 1000 people with bitcoin holdings of over $1 million. We are the biggest piece of evidence. Month ago the number was barely 150.

Thinly veiled brag... :-)
5932  Economy / Economics / Re: Please Read!! Help Stop This Madness. on: December 03, 2013, 07:06:46 AM
Bitcoin is fundamentally threatening to neo-Keynesian economists and those who favor left political stances.  Paul Krugman for example leads the NYT in a nearly single voice of dissent with his ridicule of bitcoin.  He, for example is constantly calling BTC 'deflationary' while calling the USD either stable or occasionally 'slightly deflationary' (lol).  I imagine your profs are of a similar mindset.

We DO know bitcoin is most likely in a speculative bubble at the moment.  If it is not it is changing history.

What we do NOT know yet is your professors are wrong in the weight of their bias.  I think they are.  But only time will tell. They are most certainly right about some of their stances on btc.

Highest rake in the industry on cashgames atm

What the hell are you talking about?

Poker stars:  4.5% rounded UP cap @ 0.30-5.00
Seals.          :  2.5% rounded DOWN cap @ 0.24 - 4.00

5 Chips rake ~ 4,2$

Other rooms charging 3$ or less, on top of rakeback and bonuses, so yeah...

If youre so seriously baller that you are paying three dollar rake at stars (that's 2kNL BTW) then you would not be complaining about rake lol.

At 10nl (or btc eqv) you pay $1.50 at stars or $0.30 at seals.
25nl   $2 stars. 75˘ seals.

And like micon said.  Play short handed with rake back?  Pay less than half that.

But yeah...  Since you pay $3vs4 at seals then you must feel that dollar difference up at 2000nl when you rake those $5k pots.

Micon has to be nice.  I dont.

You're full of shit.  I'm all in.

nl200 stars = 2.8$ in rake cap.
nl200 SWC ~ 4.2$ in rake cap.

and stars have a vip program that gives decent rewards. To get any with SWC you have to rake for a gazzilion.

Were getting closer to reasonable numbers now.  But even at these stakes many, if not most pots will be cheaper than at stars.  When stacks go in the middle seals costs a buck fourty more.  At this stake.  But this is waaaay different than "highest rake in the industry".

Also when the current rake was instituted 5chips was around $2.

The reason I am on this so hard is SWC has had the LOWEST rake in the industry for 2 years.  Not until the last WEEK have higher stakes seen a small inflation in the cap.

Freemoney has been constantly lowering the rake.   I imagine if btc doesn't correct he will likely lower the chip cap.

But throwing around accusations of "highest rake in the industry" is just unreasonable.

Easy for site to lie about input and rip off players.

Also...  A bet of between 8 and 80 bucks currently makes it feel a bit risky.n:-)

Someone give me their referral ID.  I'm going to play my first hand of online poker since Black Friday Smiley.

No need to delay, just put 'freemoney' in the referred field. ;-)

You can type 1 less letter.

cAPSLOCK

Wink

Freemoney kinda already gets paid from EVERY referral. Wink  God bless his blackened soul.

I'm gonna have to go with freemoney since he posted first, sorry.  Is there a bonus code I should use?

I know of no bonus codes. You do realize freemoney owns the site and makes the rake? :-)   If there is a bonus code he ought to tell you for the 'referral' lol.
